MONDAYS FRESH CUP! Our walk together KKIM/DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family,

Anything is possible if a person believes. Mark 9:23

Christ's abiding presence requires a life of UNCEASING FAITH!

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. live your life in such a way so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.

Amen!

Some thoughts from the weekend..........

I keep getting emails from folks we have and are praying for that their prayers are being answered! I pray that you keep a list and pray over those in need daily. I will talk to Jannetta about a separate section that would always have our prayer needs listed..How about that?

I thank our Lord for all the friends Sharon and I have...........We have so many friends that give us such encouragement in the Lord.

Sometimes I fail.........

Something did not go well on Friday because I took it upon myself to leave God out of it..........I thought I knew what was best and in the emotion of it...........went with MY EMOTIONS.......

That got me thinking...........

Our biggest messes come when we try to do something for God that we're convinced He can't do for himself.

Our worst moments result from grabbing for ourselves that which God has not given us.

We are to live on His ability, not our own. I need to remember what scripture says about God's ability:

"And God is able to make all grace abound to us, so that in all things at all times, having all that we need, we will abound in every good work. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us..........

I went on EMOTION not GOD!

Like this bail out our Country is looking for.............

When we're looking into the future, we're not listening to God. Anything we do to try and guarantee stability ON OUR OWN TERMS will actually rob us of the freedom to simply follow God today. We'll resort to our own wisdom instead of following His. THE GREATEST FREEDOM GOD CAN GIVE US IS TO TRUST HIM TO CARE FOR US EACH DAY.

When we read God's word.........it set's us free.

When we walk with God each day and listen to the Holy Spirit it set's us free.

Many of you already know all this I write about......it's just that sometimes are walk with the Lord get's off track.........I had a friend tell me this...........and it is so TRUE.......as the Lord has provided me with so much Godly energy since I have come to KKIM...........I just need to remember it...........

As you follow God, Dewey, you'll find yourself doing more that you've ever done, but it's won't be the frantic activity of a desperate person, it will be the simple obedience of a loved child. That's all God desires."

In closing, I saw Brenda from Ft. Sumner Saturday at the Arc of New Mexico Board Meeting..........She is happily married..........PRAISE GOD!

Brenda said this, "I am really thankful for the Daily Cup and the whole family........praying for each other and making friends who I may never meet.......from all over!"

That is what the Daily Cup is all about, God's family.........praying for each other and making ourselves vulnerable in the Lord and learning from each other........and encouraging each other in our daily walk with Jesus Christ.

AMEN!

What do you think?

Have a great week in the Lord, Dewey Sharon and family

From KKIM/DDC Prayer Request

"Behold, I send My messenger,

And he will prepare the way
before Me.

And the Lord, whom you seek,

Will suddenly come to His temple,

Even the Messenger of the covenant,

In whom you delight.

Behold, He is coming,"

Says the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 3:1

a prayer need.........

Thanks for those kinds words Dewey and those prayers. Now, one other prayer request, my wife Alice and one of my grand daughter twins, Brooke Faith, the little one, both have been sice for 2 or 3 days, throwing up and Brooke is crying all the time, Alice says her back and head hurts, since the litle 1 yr old baby can't tell us, I'm sure she's hurting all over too. Thanks for your prayers. Their mother took the twins to the Dr. and their ears and lungs are clear, must be a virus. Thanks,

"When the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of our sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears."

Dewey's Daily Cup ps to you all...........

Dear KKIM Family,

I forgot to include Dr. Deb's note to you all in today's posting.......sorry but right now I am getting about 200 emails a day and this one got by me..........please forgive me

Hi, Dewey,

I wanted give KKIM listeners an update on Walking in The Way's Saturday show this week. My guest will be Glennys Elliott. Glennys is a school counselor at Albuquerque Christian School. She works with students and parents about issues children have at school. These may be about studying, interpersonal relationships, fears and anxieties, grades, family problems, and a host of other concerns that school children experience today. Parents often reach out to the schools with problems their children are having at home. Glennys and I will be talking about some of these issues. Glennys will take calls and answer questions from our listeners. We are looking forward to hearing from our listeners this week about this valuable topic. As a reminder, Walking in The Way is a ministry dedicated to walking alongside women through the issues of life as they come to know Christ and walk in His ways. The show is on every Saturday morning from 8:05 to 9:00 AM. The show can be heard on KKIM-AM1000 in Albuquerque, FM94.7 for our Santa Fe listeners or on the website at http://www.mykkim.com/.

May the Lord bless you graciously this week,

extremely well said Mr Dewey....thank you......

Thank you for your emails and phone calls! They help us to keep going in the Lord!

Now our dear friend Nic takes over, he sent in the following..................

"I sleep, but my heart waketh."
-- Song of Solomon 5:2

Paradoxes abound in Christian experience, and here is one-the spouse
was asleep, and yet she was awake. He only can read the believer's
riddle who has ploughed with the heifer of his experience. The two
points in this evening's text are-a mournful sleepiness and a hopeful
wakefulness. I sleep. Through sin that dwelleth in us we may become lax
in holy duties, slothful in religious exercises, dull in spiritual
joys, and altogether supine and careless. This is a shameful state for
one in whom the quickening Spirit dwells; and it is dangerous to the
highest degree. Even wise virgins sometimes slumber, but it is high
time for all to shake off the bands of sloth.

It is to be feared that many believers lose their strength as Samson lost his locks, while
sleeping on the lap of carnal security. With a perishing world around
us, to sleep is cruel; with eternity so near at hand, it is madness.
Yet we are none of us so much awake as we should be; a few
thunder-claps would do us all good, and it may be, unless we soon
bestir ourselves, we shall have them in the form of war, or pestilence,
or personal bereavements and losses. O that we may leave for ever the
couch of fleshly ease, and go forth with flaming torches to meet the
coming Bridegroom! My heart waketh. This is a happy sign. Life is not
extinct, though sadly smothered.

When our renewed heart struggles against our natural heaviness, we should
be grateful to sovereign grace for keeping a little vitality within the body of this death.
Jesus will hear our hearts, will help our hearts, will visit our hearts; for the
voice of the wakeful heart is really the voice of our Beloved, saying,

"Open to me." Holy zeal will surely unbar the door.
"Oh lovely attitude! He stands
With melting heart and laden hands;
My soul forsakes her every sin;
And lets the heavenly stranger in."

Ten Commandments of Human Relations
by Rubel Shelly

The fundamental issue in human ethical behavior is summarized by Jesus
in what we have come to call "The Golden Rule." Jesus put it this way:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,
for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 7:12 TNIV).
It asks us to test our treatment of others by putting ourselves in
their place. Treat others the way you would want them to treat you in
the same or similar circumstance.
Somebody took that principle and translated it into Ten Commandments of
Human Relations. You may have seen this anonymous piece, for it
circulates in a variety of settings. In case you have missed it, I am
reproducing it here.
1. Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of
greeting.

2. Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

3. Call people by name. It is music to anyone's ears to hear the
sound of his or her name.

4. Be friendly and helpful.

5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is genuinely a
pleasure. If it isn't, learn to make it so.

6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost anyone, if
you try.

7. Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.

8. Be considerate of the feelings of others. There are usually three
sides to a controversy -- yours, the other fellow's, and the
correct one.

9. Be alert to serve. What counts most in life is what you do for
others.

10. Live with a good sense of humor, a generous dose of patience, and
a dash of humility appropriate to being human.

Made in God's image, all of us have something to be valued!
The great challenge in human experience is not work skills, but people
skills. That is, research has shown that the majority of people who
fail in their vocation do so because they cannot get along with people.
You might think through the meaning of these ten common-sense ideas for
your own workplace and personal activity. But what about the larger
setting for your daily life? These principles work everywhere you go,
for they are about showing respect to the people you meet in all those
places.

Made in God's image, all of us have something to be valued, affirmed,
and acknowledged by others. But let it begin with us to acknowledge it
in them. As the cycle of giving and receiving enlarges, the human
community comes alive

Good write up on health................

Doctor preaches wonder cure: Vitamin D
By JOSEPHINE MARCOTTY, Star Tribune
September 21, 2008
The young man was back in the hospital again. Flare-ups from his sickle-cell disease have put him there repeatedly over the years, and he’s only 25.

This time, though, something was different. Sunlight streamed across his bed as Dr. Greg Plotnikoff held his hand and gently asked if the new pills were working.
“I’m feeling stronger,” the patient said, nodding eagerly.

It wasn’t the newest pharmaceutical that brightened the young African immigrant’s eyes with hope. It was what Plotnikoff heralds as the single most cost-effective medical intervention in America today: Good old-fashioned vitamin D.

There is an epidemic of vitamin D deficiency, especially among the obese, the elderly and dark-skinned people living in the sun-deprived north. In fact, most Minnesotans are likely deficient in winter, unless they take supplements, because they live too far north to get enough vitamin D from the sun.
Deficiencies have been linked to 17 kinds of cancer, autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, heart disease, depression and ADHD. In fact, there is almost nothing t hat vitamin D can’t help, and that’s Plotnikoff’s point. It reduces death. It reduces pain. It reduces illness. And it’s free from the sun.

If vitamin D is the nutrient of the decade, Plotnikoff is one of its most passionate evangelists. He is the new medical director of the Institute for Health and Healing, the integrative medical clinic at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Plotnikoff says he is obsessed with vitamin D. But his passion is really about something much more profound for doctors, patients and a public overwhelmed by the cost of illness and a dysfunctional health care system. Sometimes it’s the little things like vitamin D, he says, that can make a huge difference in the nation’s health.

“He’s not selling something,” said his friend and colleague, Dr. Paul Goering, a psychiatrist at United Hospital in St. Paul. “He’s trying to inspire how you make change. And that’s much more exciting than this hopeless thing of health care is too costly and we can’t afford it.”

A new approach

Plotnikoff, 47, is an unassuming evangelist for public health. Usually wearing a dark blue suit and striped tie, he sometimes puts his palms together and bows slightly, a gracious habit learned during four years of studying herbal medicine in Japan.
He admits he sees every patient through the prism of vitamin D. In August, for example, he met with Kari Helling and her doctors. She was=2 0in the hospital for an inflammatory bowel disease — also linked to vitamin D deficiency. He suggested they test her level. When it came back low, he advised prescribing 4,000 International Units per day.

“It was very interesting to be in a room with very pragmatic surgeons who think a colon is a colon,” Helling said. “When he raised the issue of vitamin D, it kind of fell flat.”
In the end, her doctor gave her far less than Plotnikoff recommended, she said. But she’s been taking 2,000 units a day on her own — far more than the 400 units that has been the standard for decades.

A note of caution: It is extremely difficult, but not impossible, to take too much vitamin D, experts say. Adults would have to consume 2,000 units or more a day for a long time. But too much could trigger too much calcium absorption, causing kidney stones.
Far more likely is the possibility of deficiency.
“The majority of physicians still believe that in the 21st century, Americans could not possibly be vitamin D deficient,” Plotnikoff said. “We are an advanced society. No one could be deficient.”

Plotnikoff looks for every opportunity to spread his message. He gives talks about vitamin D at community meetings, medical conferences, on TV and the radio.
His own eureka moment with vitamin D occurred in the late 1990s when he was a primary care doctor at the University of Minnesota’s community clinic. His p atients were mostly poor, many immigrants with darker skin from countries where the sun shines a lot more than it does in Minnesota.

“I was frustrated by their chronic pain, goofy chronic pain that was disabling people,” he said. He would prescribe treatments that didn’t work very well or that his patients couldn’t afford.

“To be a good doctor you have to go beyond medical training and find the answer,” said Plotnikoff, who went to divinity school before he went to medical school at the U.

He came across an article that said that immigrant women were frequently vitamin D deficient. He measured it in 150 of his own patients who complained of pain.
“I was shocked,” Plotnikoff said. “Ninety-three percent were vitamin D deficient. Five people had unmeasurable levels. One woman came to him with six pages of complaints — everything from “squishy” headaches to throbbing gums. Six months after he prescribed supplements “they had all cleared,” he said. “She had her life back.”

He wrote up his findings for a small medical journal and left for Japan. His article, published in 2003 in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings, caused a bit of a stir in medical circles. It was the first in the United States to connect vitamin D deficiency to chronic pain in a wide range of patients. In the four years he spent in Japan, he received e-mails about it from around the world every week.

By the time he returned last year, vitamin D had become the “it” vitamin. Study after study connected deficiencies to everything from multiple sclerosis and diabetes to cancer and heart disease. Last month, the American Medical Association urged the Food and Drug Administration to up its dietary recommendation of 400 International Units per day.

Nutrient from the sun

For decades, Vitamin D was valued primarily for its ability to help the body absorb calcium for strong bones — hence its addition to milk. But it’s now understood that its job is much bigger.

It regulates hundreds of genes, especially those associated with cell growth. That’s why, researchers believe, it reduces cancer, slows cell death and regulates immune cells. Almost every living thing on Earth depends on it.

But unlike other vitamins that come from food, vitamin D comes primarily from the sun. UVB rays are absorbed by melanin in the skin. People with darker skin are less able to absorb vitamin D, so when Africans move north, for example, they are at far greater risk of deficiency. Plotnikoff’s patient with sickle-cell had almost no measurable levels of vitamin D in his blood.

The vitamin D epidemic has evolved largely because we now spend far more time inside than outside. When we do go outside, we often cover up or use sunscreen. It is, sadly, “an indictment of our way of life,” Plotnikoff said. But this epidemic has a cheap and breathtakingly simple solution — awareness, for starters.
Plotnikoff urges “safe sunning,” which means no burning. In winter, when no one who lives in Minnesota can get enough from the sun, most everyone should take supplements. To be sure you’re getting enough, he said, ask your doctor to do a blood test.
The payoff, he believes, is much bigger than ending an epidemic. It’s a bridge to a different medical philosophy altogether, one that embraces health, not disease, and the patient, not the treatment.
“This is what gets me going,” he said. “It does not require physician expertise. True primary care is self care.”

Preparing to do the news yesterday was something else! The news was changing about every minute.........The bailout......McCain not going to attend the debate......Obama going to the debate no matter what........Many emails frfom both the Democrats and Republicans saying they have the answers.......I get now about 25 press releases some days from both parties........We are living in historic times.......The answer..........

The Lord of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Look, I am alive forever and ever!

BRAND NEW WEEK JUMP STARTER KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,
Don't be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one who died. Look, I am alive forever and ever! Revelation 1:18

Thought For the Day: "When you dig a hole for yourself.......you have to throw the dirt on someone."

I am reading another book, "So you don't want to go to Church anymore" by Jake Colsen............it is an AWESOME read!!!

The Lord is moving here in New Mexico.....I pray that you feel the Lord where you are at! We just completed REVIVE SANTA FE, what a HUGE BLESSING!!! May God continue to pour down HIS blessings on Santa Fe!

Now is the time for us all to have a REVIVAL in our relationship with the Lord! Feel HIS spirit move within you!

Let us go to prayer for the following needs..........

Please pray for Pat Lein of Albuquerque whop is suffering from cancer. Pat is undergoing treatment and her daughter Pam asks's that we all pray for her Mom.

Dewey,

I meant to tell you on the phone yesterday that the reason for Matthew Hill's (Host of the Matthew Hill show on KKIM weekdays 10am to 11am) absence much of this week is that his wife and three month old son were in an automobile accident this past week. The baby was ok but his wife suffered burns from the airbag and required surgery for a broken collar bone. Needless to say it has been very traumatic for the young father and he has been juggling a hundred things. Just wanted you to know why he was not on the air this week.

-Chuck

Matthew sent this............

prayer is always needed. please pray and tell everyone "thanks"

Matthew

Here is an update on Amy who we have been praying for.............

Thank you for asking Dewey. Amy is doing well after her mastectomy.
She is now on a new regime of chemo.....three weeks on chemo on
Monday, one week off, and another three weeks....for 6 rounds. Chemo
is hard. She has it on Monday, and usually "crashes" a bit on Wed.
It is trying on her and she is just plain tired of being "brave" at
times.

Today, a prayer request has surfaced. She was told today her leave
papers and red tape with her employer are all messed up and they have
said if it does not get straightened out by Oct. 5 she will be
terminated (after 20 years or so) and loose her benefits. She was
under the impression she was ok until Jan. or Feb 2009. She has not
been ok'd to return to work until that time because of chemo. She had
no idea anything was missing or that there would be a problem. Her
immediate contacts at the school are doing all they can to straighten
the problem out (this is a little frightening to say the least.) She
says everyone is doing the best they can to help her....it is just
really messed up and in a huge district things get lost in the shuffle
and take time. She wants her insurance coverage to treat the cancer.
She filled out some papers today, made some calls, but prayer would
help, especially prayer for an unusually quick and efficient processing
of the paperwork and a solution of the problem. She needs confirma
tion
that it is all settled so she can focus on getting rid of this cancer.
I am praying that God will not only be her "Great Physician" but the
"Great Benefits Specialist", "The Great Payroll and Leave Specialist"
and "The Great Controller and Problem Solver of this Situation".
Dewey, she is so precious to us. We have been so blessed all of these
years and will be for many to come. She is a fighter and a survivor!
Thank you so much prayer warriors for caring and praying. I am so
grateful.

Again, thank you Dewey. Blessings to you and Sharon and Family.
Cherie

Here is an update on little Saria who fell out of that truck last week...........

Good morning Dewey and all the prayer warriors,

I just wanted to take a minute and give you all an update on Saria Mejia....she appears to be fine after several hours in the hospital and extensive tests. Her cat scan came back negative....praise the Lord..... she did suffer a mild concussion however. But other than that, everything appears fine.

The power of PRAYER..... thanks to all of you.. Have a blessed week...

Joe Rowe

Here is a note from Sam about Pastor Vic.........

Dearest Maria,
Your father is not only in my prayers this morning, but you and your family as well.
Remember the LORD has told us he will not allow anything to be put on us that we cannot handle. Keep the faith. Much Concern, Sam

Here is a note from Pastor Mark Tross on REVIVE SANTA FE...........

Dewey,
Juliet, Seth and I attended the Revive SF last night and it was a KILLER. I just heard and old recording of Leonard Ravenhill (one of the greatest revival preachers and teachers of our time :) that said, Evangelists Raise Money, but Revivalists RAZE Hell! Obviously God is up to something BIG here in NM, whether ALL the churches want Him or not :D GBY Brother and keep Giving The HEAVEN, cause you're on the front lines and doing well!
Blessings,
Mark Tross

Sharon and I have both read this book Kay is talking about......see banner ad at www.mykkim.com The book is AWESOME!!!

Dewey ~

Have you read The Shack, the novel by first-time author William P. Young that has become the #1 New York Times bestseller overnight? It is about a guy who has lost his sweet little daughter to a serial kidnapper. He is heartsick and angry at God and totally miserable. Then one day he finds a note in his mailbox inviting him to come visit the shack where the evidence was found of his daughter's murder - and it's from God. It's not just a phenomenally good story; after you read it, you're never the same again. And after YOU read it Dewey, you'll be interested to know that the author will be speaking in New Mexico at 6:30pm on both November 3 + 4 at Cornerstone Fellowship in Artesia. I'll bet your listeners would be thrilled with an interview for on-air and on your website! Here's the website for the church where the author will appear http://cornerstonefellowshipnm.com/ and here's the website for the author's blog - http://www.windrumors.com/ and for the book www.theshackbook.com, where you can find contact info for the author.

~ Kay

Here was on weekend question.........

Are you filled with the LOVE of JESUS like you were the first day you
>believed in HIM?

Dear Dewey,

Oh, Yes!!!! The more I love Jesus, the more I want to love Him and the more He shows me how very close He really is to each one of us.

Thank you for posting the request from "Kay" about the Christian persecution in India. It has been on my heart and in my prayers for the last few weeks. I sponsor a Vincentian seminarian from Kerala who is studying to be a priest in Bangalore. I visited Kerala last November and plan on returning this coming January. These religious priests are so kind and gentle and their ministry is all-embracing. They have a huge retreat center in Muringoor/Potta which ministers to thousands of retreatants every week in seven different languages. Many hearts and minds have experienced conversions and have turned to Christ through their charismatic preaching. I do worry about their safety in this increasing persecution towards Christians. Again, I implore all of your KKIM family to pray for the people in India.

We are truly blessed to have religious freedom in this country. May we always treasure this great gift!

May God bless you and your family and all those who support your ministry.

Linda (Phoenixville, PA)

This is from Gilbert of Gilbert and Friends heard weekdays on KKIM at 2:30...........

Hi Dewey, which love are you or your listeners talking about as there are 4 Greek words that describe that love:

1) Agapao love

2) Phileo love

3) Storge love

4) Thumos love

One love has no emotions, another is the family love, another brotherly love and still another is a very strong desire. I have not mentioned them in their order for a reason. You cannot go to a Strongs Concordance or a Vines dictionary to get the answer, it is impossible to get the true sense of these without going to the Bible and knowing where each word is used.

I'll be doing a series on these words showing the places where they are used in the Bible and each of their peculiarities - I'll do it in the series called "Thinking Outside the Box" Love you Dewey, Gilbert www.gilbertandfriends.com

God Bless you Gilbert!!! I am drinking from the coffee cup you gave me, "OLD GUYS RULE"!!!!!! I have to agree after yesterdays softball game....they were calling me Derek Jeter!!!!!!

Here is a note from Cherie.........

Dewey, Thank you for all you do to encourage and hold up the believers.
Thank you for your faithfulness. I just needed to write today so you
could let Karen Rowe know that what she shared this morning, 9/19/08
was a needed blessing in my life today and I am grateful she is so
willing to share.
Love, In Christ,
Cherie Snow

Pastor Don sends this note about former NM Congressman Bill Redmond and Oct. 3rd One Nation Under God Prayer Meeting..........

Hi Dewey,
We had a great day in the Lord today as Bill Redmond spoke to us on the Biblical Roots of American Government. That brother is a wonderful speaker, former pastor, former congressman, whom you know from Los Alamos, etc. If possible, it would be great to play his sermon on KKIM some Sunday, It was dynamic, Dewey, trust me! You can download it from our website.

Do you need for me to do another promo for Oct. 3, "One Nation Under God"? Thanks, Dewey. Let me know. Hope you and Sharon are doing well, her health is improving and your house sells this week. God bless or dios le bendiga.

Pastor Don Heights Christian Church www.heightschristian.org

One Nation Under God is an evening of prayer for us all!

Why do we say the blessing? By Karen Rowe

A Blessing is a gift from God that is received with Praise and Thanksgiving!

Most Christians are taught to say the blessing before we eat…That is to receive our food with Praise and Thanksgiving. To give thanks for the food that God has provided.

Often times, it seems that the Blessing is just overlooked…maybe even considered optional???

People eat out more now days, and in public or private, our thankful heart needs to remain the same. Not to mention humble…

Many times in our family, we rush through the blessing…seemingly to get it over with so we can eat. My son, who is 3 years old, can say a long winded prayer, but never the less, we are speaking to God and God is listening to that young tender heart talk so innocently to HIM, thanking God for his bike, Mud Volcano, his cousins, Matthew and Elicia, Elicia’s bike, Amanda’s bike, his bike and on and on….and then he’ll say thank You God for taking care of me, and protecting me and for loving me…sometimes he has to start again because he forgot to say thank you for the food….all very sweet and precious and I know that God is smiling…so are we…

But sometimes, we just want to get on with dinner…those rough days…

We are hungry, dinner is many times late and we just want to eat and be done for the day.

However, this morning my son and I read a meal time prayer book for kids as we ate.

What a blessing it was!

Not only did we say wonderful words of thanks to God, we acknowledged HIM for all that HE does for us, including HIS son Jesus Christ.

How often do we get so wrapped up in life that we forget to thank the ONE who gave us life?

How selfish of us to think of our belly and tired feet to rush through or skip a prayer to God…to skip talking to God or to rush through a conversation with God is just disrespectful…

HE understands, but still, when it gets right down to it, if God was visibly sitting at our dinner table with us, how differently would we treat our God when we give HIM thanks for our daily bread?

I think of this often, but still fall short…I think from now on, I will give God more respect.

Love and prayers,

Karen Rowe

Small Straws In A Soft Wind by Marsha Burns -- September 19, 2008:
The decisions that you make at this time will have the power to change the course of your life. It would behoove you to consider carefully the choices that present themselves at this time, and then seek Me for wisdom and direction. The most propitious options will not necessarily be the most logical according to natural circumstances. Rise up in the realm of the Spirit and choose according to righteous discernment, says the Lord.
Proverbs 11:6 The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the unfaithful will be caught by their lust.

Galatians 6
7 Do not be deceived God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Prayer Needs

Good Morning KKIM Family,

Yesterday was a HUGE day in the Lord. We had a live broadcast from REVIVE SANTA FE!! This revival is going so AWESOME. We had a live press conference for the media and public to ask questions about the revival, we had a good turn out and had ten pastors talk about the event. What a VICTORY for our LORD! Please go to www.mykkim.com for more details on Revive Santa Fe which goes through Sunday. This news conference which was from 4:30 to 5:15 was like a Town hall meeting.........radio like it should be! PRAISE GOD for KKIM!

And this was their testimony:

They began to pray.

The people of God knelt before the

Lord and sought the face of God.

And they continued to pray.

Some faltered but the faithful prayed on.

Then they rallied themselves together and prayed some more.

And the city shook.

The ground trembled and the demon powers quaked with fear

as the people of God tore down the strongholds of the evil one.

And the enemy fought against the people of God but did not prevail.

And the people came in droves.

The people came and great revival was upon the land. Many were

saved, many souls were healed. Miracles and manifestation of God's

power and spirit were done.

And the revival broke forth and reached all across the land.

For the demon powers of the enemy were broken. The stronghold

of Satan was brought down and the people of God triumphed through

Jesus Christ.

And many strongholds were brought low across the land. God's

manifestation of spirit and power went abroad everywhere.

Please pray for Revival all over the United States!!!!

I love mail like this...........

Dear Dewey,
My name is Tamara Hartenberger and I am a listener of KKIM. I want to thank you so much for airing John Macarthur, particularly during his latest set of messages (both the salvation survey and the current series, battle for the beginning). I know that they are not popular, and that it is a risk to air the truth. But God will honor that. Please be encouraged, and continue to keep the faith. Thank you so much!

By the way tune into KKIM at 3:30 today for our brand new program with Pastor Bob brown.....you are in store for a treat!!! We praise God for friends like Pastor Bob!!!!

Thanks for stopping by for a cup today........I have to run off to the dentist now.......eating after the press conference...I had a tooth fall out!!! Love to go to the dentist!

We have two prayer needs this morning from Karen and Kay............

God Bless you and each one today w/God's Grace abundant! Thank you for the birthday wishes :-) I certainly got a lot of jabbing for turning the big 5-0. ...including a strange statement that I only turn 50 once... ya know... I have only turned each age I've been once; I doubt that I will have a 2nd time around on any one of the yrs/birthdays {{{smiles}}} On another note, Jamie is my youngest daughter (24) sorry if I did something to cause that confusion (she deserves it :-) she called me on my birthday and the 1st thing she said was "Mom, you are really old now!" I am trying to catch up on emails, etc. was busy over the weekend w/my older daughter & helping her get things moved from Muncie to Elkhart. The shop she worked at (hair salon) is closing... a nice time to move closer to home yay!
At the same time...been working thru a hard stage - my mom who has been fighting a battle against cancer for 2 yrs now and has surprised the drs. that she has beat it this long... is deteriorating fast. Please pray for comfort, peace, relief from suffering for her. I know she's going home to Jesus...I don't know the time frame of this...but its not looking hopeful here for her... I know the joys & celebrations for her on the other side...those who have gone before and are waiting to welcome her w/open arms.. her mom...my brother who has been waiting a long time for her. I have been reminded I have to let her go... I am having a hard time w/that in my heart...i understand in my head. God is Good...all the time...Karen

Dear friends ~

My heart grieves to learn of the reality of three weeks of ceaseless savage religious persecution in Orissa, India.
When I heard of these attacks, I thought, "I must tell my
Christian friends in the US. Surely they will care. Surely
they will not abandon our brothers and sisters in Christ."

Please read this moving report and then my note at the end...

Orissa's Nightmare: Will It Ever End?

Attacks on Christians continue as violence spreads to other states.

World Christian Ministries Newsletter

September 12, 2008
Dear Kay,

John Lindner

Twenty days after the attacks on Christians began in India's Orissa state, 300 villages lie in ashes, 4,000 Christian homes are burned, scores of churches are destroyed, and perhaps as many Christians lie butchered, burned or murdered. Worse, there is no confirmation that the violence has ceased. And where are the great Indian government leaders?

Indian Christians are begging the federal government to intervene, and U.S. Congressmen are asking how Indian federal officials can stand by and watch mob violence take over a state. The world is reacting, while the parochial U.S. media ignore the issue. This newsletter covers all of this. Sorry if it is longer than you wish.

How it began

Map of India. Orissa is shown in pale pink.

After Hindu Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was murdered in an attack on his ashram by Maoist Naxalites rebels on August 23, radical Hindus immediately announced Christians had murdered their leader and went on a rampage of revenge.

Of course, the Christians had had nothing to do with the attack. The All India Christian Council immediately issued a letter condemning the act, and Naxalites on September 1 finally claimed responsibility for their noxious deed.

The Naxalite's letter said, "The Sangh Parivar leaders ... have been trying to divert the people by uttering lies that it is not the Maoists but Christian organizations that had carried out the attack on the VHP leader." (Sangh Parivar means "United Family," referring to the coalition of right-wing Hindu organizations, while VHP refers to Vishwa Hindu Parishad or World Hindu Council.)

The Maoists' statement went on to say that Swami Saraswati was a "rabid anti-Christian ideologue and persecutor of innocent Christians who was responsible for the burning down of over 400 churches in Kandhamal district alone." So the Maoists have become defenders of the Christians! We'll take what we can get.

If you missed my earlier story, read my August 28 newsletter, "Violence Against Christians Explodes after Hindu Swami Murdered."

Widespread damage
But it was too late. Fanatic Hindus had already begun a misguided rampage of revenge that has not been thoroughly quelled as we write. The conflagration has spread to 14 of Orissa's 30 districts, reduced at least 300 villages to ashes, consumed over 4,000 homes of Christians, and left 50,000 Christians hiding in the jungle for a week or more in the rain, with 13,000 still in relief camps.

Benny Mathews of Alpha Ministries quoted Kandhamal District Collector Krishan Kumar September 2 as saying, "At least 2,400 buildings, including prayer houses and schools, have been damaged or burnt."

A destroyed jeep and house belonging to a Christian family.

While state officials reportedly confirmed only 13 dead, the Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) cited 42 deaths, and Dr. Sajan George, President of the Global Council of Indian Christians, claimed to have documented 53 deaths. The truth may never be known, since by the time investigators are allowed into the villages, enemies of the gospel may have disposed of any remaining bodies of their victims.

An EFI report posted online September 8 listed 35 denominations suffering losses, 11 schools and colleges attacked, and four NGOs assaulted. While many attacks were against Roman Catholic properties prominent in the area, many evangelical ministries also were targeted. These included the Assemblies of God, Believers Church (Gospel for Asia), Indian Pentecostal Church, Indian Evangelical Team, Himalaya Evangelical Mission, Orissa Missionary Movement, Orissa Follow-Up, and churches planted by Hindustan Bible Institute graduates as well as independent and other denominational churches.

Leaders speak out
P.M. Thomas wrote me from Himalaya Evangelical Mission headquarters in Gorakhpur Monday: "We have nine churches there. Now most of our pastors and believers are living in the forest. Pastor Korkora's house is destroyed and some of the valuables were taken away; Pastor Gyani Harpal's house is completely burned down; Sister Deepti had to be taken by motorcycle at night to a forest, as she cannot walk because of an earlier fracture."

This girl kept her personal items in this metal box. When arsonists came she fled for her life, leaving her brother behind, unable to carry him and save herself. After the arsonists left, all she could find was the empty metal box.
Speaking for Indian Evangelical Team, Joy Thomas wrote Sept. 4:

"IET missionaries and believers of Phulbani, Koraput and Udliaguda were affected. In Phulbani our nine pastors' families and 91 families of believers are in the relief camp. Churches in Butuguda have been damaged by the fanatics. Four believer's houses were burnt. In Udliaguda two houses of our believers were burnt and three churches destroyed. Also houses of two of our missionaries were burnt by the fanatics."

Dr. Paul "Bobby" Gupta, President of Hindustan Bible Institute in Chennai (Madras) sent this urgent appeal last week:

"One of our churches was completed broken. There was a bomb blast and three churches and one orphanage building were damaged. Many of our pastors' houses were broken down and they have gone into hiding in the forest. There is continuous rain, and they have no shelter or food to survive. The situation in this district is becoming very tense. It is painful to hear the troubles that the Church is facing right now. Just this afternoon one of our students got the news that his house was completely broken and vandalized. He does not know where his parents are. Knees needed!"

Bishop M.A. Thomas of Emmanuel Ministries said at least ten of his pastors had their homes completely destroyed. Yet they avoided going to the relief camps because militants seek them out there and try to force them become Hindus. Moreover, recent reports cited two instances where VHP activists poisoned or tried to poison the water supplies of relief camps.

"About 3,000 militants came to attack our orphanage and our small building, where Pastor Kishore, his wife and orphan children stayed," Bishop Thomas continued. "But a small group of police turned them away. This was a miracle from God; otherwise how could such a small group of police protect Pastor Kishore and 28 orphan children from 3,000 angry militants?"

He added, "They attacked our orphanage in Bamunigam, Kandhamal. The militants entered the building and destroyed and burned everything, even the records and all the belongings of Pastor Sameer Majhi. They destroyed the kitchen and the things in the kitchen completely, but because of the police at least no life was lost."

"In Kolampur district, the militants attacked Pastor Gopinath Baniya, beat him very badly and destroyed the building. Praise God they did not kill him. Please earnestly prayer for him."

Yet some paid the ultimate price.

From left to right: Martyred missionaries Akbar Digal, Anil Majhi and Alok Kumar.
"Our Pastor Akbar Digal was killed by the big giant, the Hindu militant group," Bishop Thomas said. "He became a martyr on 29th August 2008." He reminded us that two other pastors, Pastor Anil Majhi and Pastor Alok Kumar, were killed by militant Hindus in Orissa on December 27th, 2007.

Violence spreading
But the trouble is far from ending, and may, in fact, be spreading. Compass Direct published news Monday of three attacks on Christians: One each in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka states.

In Madhya Pradesh suspected members of the Bajrang Dal and VHP burned down St. Bartholomew Church in Ratlam last Sunday after parishioners had decorated it to celebrate its 86th anniversary. (The Bajrang Dal means "Army of the Strong" and is the young men's branch of the VHP that is prone to anti-Christian violence.)

In neighboring Chhattisgarh last Friday members of the Bajrang Dal forced themselves onto a train and kidnapped four babies being transported by two nuns to an orphanage. The militants then filed charges of forced conversions against the nuns. When two other nuns arrived by vehicle to answer the first sisters' call for help, the militants beat the driver and one of the nuns.

In Karnataka 30 militants on motorcycles and an SUV stormed a church worship service, beat some of the worshipers, drove the pastor to a Hindu temple, and forced him to observe Hindu rituals. The violence has taken on the mode of ethnic cleansing.

Meanwhile, back in Orissa D.B. Hrudaya of Orissa Follow-Up reported 20 more houses of Christians were burned September 8, while the families fled into the forest. In four other villages 70 Christian families were forced to become Hindus.

According to a Sept. 8 article in the Times of India, in a separate incident Kamalini Naik, seven months pregnant, was ordered to denounce Christianity and convert to Hinduism. When she refused, she and her one-year-old son were "cut to pieces," according to witnesses.

Worldwide concern
What most of us (including Indian Christians) don't understand is why the Indian government seems to stand by and do nothing to stop the carnage. How can a nation pegged as the world's largest democracy let anarchy overtake a state? And why should it take 19 days to stop such anarchy?

A delegation of Indian citizens met with Indian President Pratibha Patil on September 1, asking her to enforce Article 355 of the Federal Constitution that calls for President's rule amid unstable conditions.

As in the U.S., the federal government is handicapped from entering a state unless invited to do so by state authorities--which Orissa thus far has refused to do. Yet if Orissa did not have sufficient police personnel to protect all the villages, asking for federal reinforcements would have been the logical thing to do. Its failure to do so suggests complicity with the Hindutva right-wing agenda.

At least India's Supreme Court has demanded that Orissa show that it has taken all plausible steps to ensure the safety of its citizens in Kandhamal district. The state has responded, a bit tardily, that it has ensured that no additional demonstrations are being allowed on behalf of the deceased Swami (though the VHP vowed to proceed with them anyway).

All this has caught the attention of nations and persecution watchers worldwide.

UK-based Christian Solidarity Worldwide has condemned the violence and sought to bring it to the world's attention, as have International Christian Concern, Compass Direct, a persecution reporting agency sponsored by Open Doors, and others.

Late last week a group of seven members of Congress petitioned the Indian government to get a handle on the situation. "We unequivocally condemn the murder of the Swami, yet we are also appalled to see how mob violence has taken root so quickly once again...," the letter stated.

"The reports of brutal killings and the widespread destruction of property... are extremely disturbing and we strongly urge the Government of India to maintain a strong security presence to guarantee the protection of vulnerable communities which are facing the immediate risk of violence and death. ... We urge the Government of India to take immediate steps to investigate these events and bring justice for the victims of the violence. In order to prevent future attacks, it is imperative that the government also address the climate fostering these attacks. India, with its great religious diversity, faces considerable challenges with communalism, but a democratic government must work to ensure the security and freedom of all its citizens."

The letter was signed by Congressmen Trent Franks (Arizona), Chris Smith (New Jersey), Bill Sali (Idaho), Robert Aderholt (Alabama), Bob Inglis (South Carolina), Mark Souder (Indiana), and Joseph Pitts (Pennsylvania). We commend these Congressmen for their world perspective.

Meanwhile back in Orissa Christian leaders are keeping a low profile. Still today a report was received saying even those attempting to go into the area to help have been beaten.

Milk-toast U.S. media
Meanwhile, I am appalled at the indifference of major U.S. media to this unthinkable atrocity. I have searched in vain to find any reference to it in the newspapers. The Washington Post has not published anything on it. I don't think any of the major TV news outlets have run any video on it (though AP and Reuters articles are sometimes found on their websites). They all seem too preoccupied with lipstick politics. No wonder Americans remain ignorant.

God bless,

Hi, Dewey,

I wanted to let our listeners know what we will be discussing this Saturday morning on Walking in The Way. This Saturday, September 20, we will be talking about the lies Christian women believe. Women are bombarded with the world's message about what we are to think and do, most of which creates lies about ourselves and our relationship with God. This will be a lively discussion, so tune in and call in to express your views about the lies women believe. Walking in The Way airs at 8:05-9:00 AM every Saturday morning.

On Saturday, September 27, listeners will have a chance to ask questions of my guest Glennys Elliott. Glennys is a school counselor at Albuquerque Christian School. She will be talking about the kinds of issues kids face in school today and what parents can do to help. Be sure to tell your friends who have kids in school about this show. It will be an informative show for all parents.

Our listeners can go to http://www.walkingintheway.com/ for more information each week about the show and upcoming events.

Thanks, Dewey, for letting the listeners know about this show through Dewey's Cup.

May God bless you always,

Don’t forget to let God be the God of our life, from Karen Rowe

Good Morning! Can we ever get tired of saying Good Morning? Or are we ever just too tired to say Good Morning?

Are we ever too tired for God?
Are we ever too busy for God?

Do we ever catch our self trying too hard; worrying too much that we forget that those things that we do for good and for God’s good purposes are already blessed by God?

Do we ever run ahead of God getting nowhere, except running extra laps around God while we wait on God to move on HIS project in HIS divine time???

We cannot change the world, but God can!
We cannot change the hearts of people, but God can!

The scriptures that God has on my mind this morning is from Deuteronomy 8
From The NIV Study Bible:
Do Not Forget the LORD

8:1“Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to our forefathers.”

8:2“Remember how….the LORD your God led you…, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.”

8:3“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, …to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”

All we can do is be good Stewarts with Christ and let HIS light shine in our smile, words and actions…More powerful than anything that we can do alone is to let God live in us and HE can use us to help change the hearts of people…

It is a personal choice that we all must make to trust God with our heart and Jesus with our life!

Even when we see an easier way for another, we must remember to trust God as God leads each of us through events that change our lives…and it is all with God’s timing and purpose! We cannot push, shove, drag or force someone to a better or an easier life with Christ. Each person must make that personal choice…

Do we sometimes forget that God is leading and orchestrating events that change each of our lives for the better? HE IS!

…God is the ONE who can do all things…not us…

WE are just servants and we need to remember to depend on God…and trust HIM in All things!

May we simply allow God lead, guide and provide for us every day!
May we remember to “Be still and know that I am God” because…HE IS GOD…May we remember that God IS God and choose to rest in HIM.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled…”

And let us not forget to honor God our Father, who gives us all…Praise and Thank HIM from the depths of our soul and serve HIM by HIS guiding hand.

Thank you LORD for bringing me home to a safe and restful place.
In You and in You alone, I place my trust! Amen.

In Christ’s Name,
Karen Rowe

>>Muslim Cleric Says Mickey Mouse Is Satanic

(Undated) -- One of the most beloved cartoon characters in history has been declared "one of Satans soldier's" by an Islamic cleric. Sheikh Muhammad Munajid's comments made on al-Majd TV were directed at Mickey Mouse and the cartoon cat and mouse duo Tom and Jerry. The former diplomat at the Saudi embassy in Washington says under Sharia law, household mice and their cartoon likenesses must be killed. Munajid explained, quote, "according to Islamic law, the mouse is a repulsive, corrupting creature." In addition to Mickey and Tom and Jerry, Munajid had harsh words for the recent Olympic games in Beijing. He labeled the event the "bikini Olympics," saying nothing makes Satan happier than seeing female athletes in skimpy clothing.

The following should not happen in the United States..........
She fights for her life while her government fights her
Pioneer Press

Article Last Updated: 09/13/2008 09:19:02 PM CDT

Sandra Cooley, front, and her husband Bill, back, discuss the difficulties they've had trying to obtain Sandra's social security benefits. (Pioneer Press: Brandi Jade Thomas)

There's red tape. Annoying but inevitable. Then there is what's happening to Sandra Jean Cooley. Red tape just doesn't do justice to what this woman is being forced to deal with as she also grapples with an illness threatening her life.
Cooley is a 59-year-old cancer-stricken Minnesota mother of three and grandmother. She raised three kids while holding down a part-time job for more than 20 years. One of her kids is a Carver County sheriff's deputy. The others are a Golden Valley accountant and a human resources executive at a west metro hospital near her home in Waconia.
A beloved Waconia High School cafeteria worker, Cooley was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago. A year ago, the cancer spread to bones in her left shoulder and her right hip, to her lungs, liver and adrenal glands.
The cancer forced her to quit her job late last year and apply for Social Security disability payments that amount to $422 a month. The Social Security Administration approved her claim within a month.
Doesn't matter, it seems. She might as well have crossed the border from Mexico today, as far as the federal government is concerned.
That's the way Cooley is being treated as bureaucrats question the validity of her U.S. citizenship. She has yet to receive one penny of the money to which she is entitled to help defray mounting out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance.
Cooley is not only facing serious health problems. She is also
dealing with what can only be described in a family newspaper as asinine lunacy because of a decision her dirt-poor parents made six decades ago.
Why? Ask the Department of Homeland Security. Good luck.
"My mom is afraid she will die before this entire mess is straightened out and will never receive her benefits,'' said daughter Sheila Owen, the sheriff's deputy.
It's a well-grounded fear. A visit to the past is in order here.
TOUGH START IN LIFE
Cooley's parents — Nellie Kathleen and Donald Travis Gibney — lived in Neche, N.D., a tiny town near the Canadian border and hometown of Henry Gurke, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient. Donald was a union ironworker. Nellie was a housewife. Life wasn't easy. Over the years, to help make ends meet, the couple's five children would be hired out during the summer months to local farm fam ilies. The Cooleys would not see their children until the start of school in the fall.
When their third child was due, the couple drove nearly nine miles north to Altona, Manitoba, where Nellie gave birth to Sandra Cooley on April 29, 1949.
Sandra was born two years after Donald Gibney returned from serving seven years as a mechanic.

This hospital receipt is among the documents Sandra and Bill Cooley have provided the government in an attempt to obtain Sandra's social security benefits. Photographed in their home in Waconia, Minn. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008. (Pioneer Press: Brandi Jade Thomas)machinist on various Navy submarines that saw combat during World War II. One of the subs was the USS Bluegill.
The total bill for the seven-day stay at the hospital was little more than $58 and change. In those days, $3 — a substantial sum for such a family — would enable hospital officials to convert Sandra Cooley's birth certificate to reflect that she was the child of a U.S.-born citizen.
Her financially strapped parents decided no t to pay and took their newborn home. Four other children — two before Sandra Cooley and two after — would be born in similar fashion, driven to the same Canadian hospital. Over the years, all but Sandra Cooley were able, without much problem, to successfully have their

A photograph of Sandra Cooley's father, Donald Gibney.

Despite the fact that Gibney is a war veteran and U.S. citizen, Cooley has to find proof that he lived in the U.S. ten years before she was born in order to receive her social security benefits. (Pioneer Press: Brandi Jade Thomas)citizenship status changed.
But as Sandra's husband, Bill, notes, those approvals took place before the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
"I think that's what is going on here,'' he said.
BLIZZARD OF PAPERWORK
Sandra and Bill Cooley applied for the citizenship change to satisfy the Department of Homeland Security's requirements. They submitted Sandra Cooley's birth certificate, record of work and income tax returns, as well as her late parents' birth certificates and0Anaturalization documents.
Sandra Cooley's mother, who was born in Canada, became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1953.
The Cooleys requested a meeting with federal immigration officials this summer after they did not hear back. They were told a division office in Rapid City, S.D., not Minnesota, would handle their claim.
They received a letter dated July 2 requesting additional information, including Sandra Cooley's birth certificate and evidence that she resided with her parents in North Dakota, as well as school and tax records (see full letter at the bottom of this page).
Not good enough, it seemed.
A letter dated July 18 asked the couple to submit "a clear and legible copy of your father's Form DD-214. Discharge and Separation documents.''
The agency also noted that it needed evidence under Immigration and Naturalization Act Section 301 to prove her father was a U.S. resident at least 10 years before her birth.
They sent relatives' documents, including her late father's birth certificate, military records and a 1972 affidavit signed by him and properly notarized saying he was born and lived here.
Not good enough, the agency wrote back July 29.
It seems the family has not submitted enough proof.
"The Service notes you previously submitted copies of your grammar school report cards as evidence of your continued residency in the Untied [sic] States,'' the July 29 letter to the Cooleys states. "While noted, these documents do not establish 2 years of continued physical presence between the ages of 14 and 28.''
Short of the seven days she spent as a newborn at the Canadian hospital, Cooley has lived here all this time.
Not good enough.
The family also was told in one of the letters that the agency still needs proof not only that Sandra Cooley's father was a U.S. resident 10 years before her birth but also that he was 12 or older before that time.
"No names. There's no name, no e-mail address,'' Bill Cooley said of the three letters he has received from the agency, which also carry no contact phone number. "No nothing. Just an address in South Dakota."
Bill Cooley said he tried in vain to call to have someone directly address his wife's situation.
The Cooleys are now trying to track down pre-1940 school records for Sandra's father, who attended classes at a one-room Bathgate, N.D., school that no longer exists.
"I can't believe it. This is the worst bureaucracy I have ever seen,'' said Bill Cooley, fighting mightily to hold back tears.
WORSENING HEALTH
The Cooleys have more serious things to worry about. Two weeks ago, doctors treating Sandra Cooley discovered five tumors in her brain.
The tumors have dramatically affected her balance and memory.
"The part that is scary for us is that, just a week before she got the brain diagnosis, s he was fine,'' said Sheila Owen. All of a sudden, there was a rapid decline of her mental status. "She walks around now like she's drunk all the time, confused and kind of wobbly."
Sandra Cooley will undergo surgery at the University of Minnesota this week in an attempt to shrink, if not eliminate, the brain tumors.
I end this as it should properly end, with Sandra Cooley's blunt and proper take on this whole, sorry saga: "There's got to be a better way.''

MORE URGENT PRAYER NEEDED KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

There is no clock when it comes to prayer and the need of prayer for God's Children........especially HIS little ones.........like Saria, just 4 years old...........

Dewey,

Can you please send out an urgent prayer request for Saria Mejia. She is a four year old little girl and the daughter of our Mighty Mites Head Coach. They were leaving their home and coming to tonight's football practice when she fell off the back of the pick-up truck and landed on the back of her head. I'm not quite sure of the extent of the injuries but she apparently opened the back of her head. They rushed her to the hospital where she is being observed and undergoing some extensive testing. I will keep you posted as I get information....but please keep her in your prayers...God Bless, Joe Rowe Albuquerque

Can you imagine the worry of Mom and Dad? Let's turn to Acts 16:31

So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

May God be with the family!

Also this prayer request all the way from Cape Town from our friend, Tienie.............

Brother Dewey pray with us for the selling of our properties in Cape Town due to high interest rates we suffer financially. We knew anything is possible for our Lord Jesus. God bless you and your family.

God Bless you Tienie!!! We are thankful to have you as part of the KKIM family! All the way from Cape Town PRAISE GOD.....we will be praying!

Thank you prayer warriors for praying for all the needs that have come our way the last couple of days.....we are here to serve God's people.

God Bless you all, Dewey Sharon and family

Urgent Prayer Needs KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Last night I shared with you how touching it was for Susan to ask for prayer for her husband, Albert. Now tonight, and how touching is this..........daughter Maria asking prayer for her Dad Pastor Vic Tafoya of True Life Fellowship. Pastor Vic is a dear friend of mine and KKIM! He is on the air every Sunday at 8am. Pastor Vic and his lovely wife Barbara are such people of God. Vic uses his hands to touch the hearts of God's people and he also uses them to work with.........please read Maria's request for her Daddy........how touching............God is at work here folks..........

Hi Dewey,

This is Maria McNerney...Shain McNerney's wife and Pastor Victor Tafoya's daughter. I was hoping that you could add a prayer request to DDC for my dad because I know he will never ask for himself. His hand has some sort of lump beneath the skin that is rapidly getting larger and is somewhat painful. As you know, he is a truck driver who delivers his own loads so this can get quite uncomfortable during work. Of couse, being human, he is very worried that it might be a malignant tumor or something similar. Or, even if it is benign and requires surgery, this will interfere significantly with work. He saw the hand surgeon last week and they said it was nothing they had ever seen before. They will be doing an MRI this week to determine the next course of action. Also, my parents are planning to go on vacation next week so hopefully it doesn't interfere with that either. My dad is always so strong for everyone else and always carries everyone else's burdens. I ask that you would please keep him in prayer regarding this fear of the unknown, as well as the possibility of what might happen following his MRI. Thank you for your time and prayers and have a blessed week!

Maria McNerney <><

Please keep us posted on Vic, Maria........

Let me share with you the scripture that came to my mind when I read Maria's note and I just got a call from my wife Sharon who has found a Doctor who says she can help her with her autoimmune disease!!! Praise God!!!

We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us. 2 Cor. 1:8-10

Also please continue to pray for Revive Santa Fe. I just got a call from the leader Pastor Kyle Martin asking for prayer. KKIM will broadcast a special news conference, Lord willing, live on the air tomorrow at 4:30pm......stay tuned.. PRAISE GOD FOR ALL HE IS DOING IN SANTA FE!!!

Let nothing disturb you,

Nothing dismay you;

All things are passing;

God never Changes.

Patient endurance

Attains all that it strives for;

Those who have God

Find they lack nothing.

God alone suffices.

From St. Teresa of Avila

Dear KKIM Family,

Susan is asking for prayers for her husband Albert..........can there be anything more precious than one asking for prayer for another.......and many praying for one?

Oh! My friends The Lord honor this.............

Hi Dewey,

My husband has pneumonia and is scheduled for 2 more cat scans and a biopsy of his lung. Please add him (Albert) to your prayer list.

Thanks

Susan Albizo

We certainly are in prayer here tonight for Albert and you Susan, and for wisdom for the Doctor's and nurses.

I was led to this scripture as I prayed for you folks........

Matthew 11: 28-29

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

"For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" AMEN!

My prayer is for all us of to read that scripture and take rest in the Lord!

Let us fall into his love.

There is no one that can save us from sickness, going broke, losing our home, losing our job, know one, but Jesus Christ.

When people write like Susan did for prayer.....I stop and pray to the Lord and then send out the prayer need.......When one is hurting, the children of Jesus Christ must act with prayer and care.

An Infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others. A.W. Tozer

I thank Mark Tross for arranging for a youth group to trim the trees at the KKIM Transmitter site! I praise God for people like Mark!!

Please also pray for the victims of Hurricane Ike...........Please help if you can.............

WEEKEND CUP with KKIM/DDC

The Woodpecker Might have to go!

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark

One Don't miss the boat.
Two Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four Stay fit When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five! Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six Build your future on high ground.
Seven For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

May your troubles be less,
may your blessings be more,
and may nothing but happiness
come through your door!

Thanks To Merry for sending that in!

Good Morning KKIM Family,

Happy Birthday to........Conway is 14!!! No, Conway's last name is not Twitty!!!

Conway is the son of our wonderful web master Jannetta!!!

Happy 50th to Jamie and Karen Rieth

Celebrate those Birthdays!

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?

"And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

"And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!"

"I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15 4-7

The Pastor used those verses in Luke 15 to talk about Ryan Husted whose funeral was yesterday........Ryan at times would get lost in his travels of life.........but for the last couple years he was on the right path........he was found........ PRAISE GOD! How about you?

How to be good in a world gone bad.......live a life of Christian Virtue........

A virtue is a specific moral excellence or good character trait. Most importantly, virtues are not innate but trained abilities, qualities, we must develop intentionally. In 1 Timothy 4:7, Paul says. "train yourself in godliness" and elsewhere he compares growth in godliness to athletic training, which requires hard work (see Corinthians 9: 24-27)

Taken from the book" How to be Good in a World Gone Bad" by Dr. James Spiegel.

I so much LOVE to read!!!!

Now let's here from you guys! The mailbag is FULL!!! I love to hear from you folks!!! Keep those emails coming..........they gives us the fuel we need to keep going!!!!

First an update from Dr. Deb on your show this coming Saturday at 8:05 am on KKIM.........

Hi, Dewey,

It's been a long day. Hope this isn't too late. Here is a little intro for Dewey's cup about my show on Saturday.

Dewey,

"God told me to tell all of us that HE still does miracles and we need to put our faith in HIM and HIM alone.

America has been looking for a leader.................and Jesus Christ has been waiting."

Absolutely. Have you read the little fiction book THE SHACK ??

It talks about that, Jesus and Jesus only.

"When the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of our sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears."

Hi Dewey Moede,

I did not find an e-mail address for Mr. Haley. Could you please pass
this on to him? He had a guest last week that spoke about sharing the
Gospel with Jews, and she gave her e-mail address,
but I was not able to write it down and wow, I did not remember it or
her name . . . So you see I need help, as I want this information for
myself and a Florida friend, who also listens on line. I so
love KKIM and all you have done for it, and I like your new site!

Thanks,

Shalom,

Good day to you and G-d bless. Bro. Dewey, this is Jonathan Olivas, the one who blew the shofar at the Light & Liberty Jail Ministry Breakfast. I am also, along with my mom Barbara, your partner in the StemEnhance business. First off, thank you for blessing me and my family through the ministry of KKIM. I was excited to hear you share your vision concerning KKIM. We are so exceedingly grateful for programs such as: Cultivate, Pastor John Macarthur, the Matthew Hill Show, News & Views, Gilbert Larsen& Friends, NM News and Views, Odyssey and Focus on the Family. I pray for your ministry regularly. I know that you heard us sing @ the breakfast, but I am not sure if you are familiar with our family music ministry. G-d called our family years ago into ministry, but until recently many of our members had not yielded to this call (myself included). Singing together since we were young, we have only recently begun to walk through the doors He has opened for us. We are getting ready to begin recording a demo, and renamed the Olivas family singers- as Shiloh. We sang this past Shabbat(Saturday) at the African-American Pavilion at the NM State Fair for Gospel Music Day. We will be singing again on the 20th at the same venue. I don't know if you have an outlet on KKIM to share this. We sing traditional and gospel, accappela and instrumental arrangements. Right now we are working on some original music. We would like to introduce something different, something fresh. Music that is holy, set apart, and not mixed with the beat and/or message of the 'god of this world'. I believe that the Almighty has been preparing our ministry (as well as you and yours), for 'such a time as this.' What an exciting time to be alive and in His service. The return of Messiah is imminent!! We are also in the middle of the 40 days of telichot(prayers for forgiveness) and teshuvah(repentance, lit. returning upright), leading up to Yom Kippur(Day of Atonement) and the High Holy Days. Prophetic shadows? Absolutely!! Hallelu-YAH, maranatha~! Baruch Ha Shem(Blessed be His Name)!!

In the His service,

Jonathan Olivas

Dewey,

The scripture says:

There will be silence before thee
And praise in Zion oh God

Your friend,

Andy

Amen and Amen...

Thank You Dewey...I didn't even know that it was 9/11 today, so I appreciate the reminder. This day is important...I just didn't even know what day it was. I noticed there was something different about today, but thought that it was just that I forgot my coffee...there is alot of silence in the air today and I can sense God's presence.

You are so obediant to write what you wrote! God does still do miracles. HE is doing so much in our life it is mind boggling!

I said a prayer for all those hurting and in need...I just feel peace that no matter what, God is God and HE is with us.

I am so sorry for the loss of Ryan Husted, but as you wrote yesterday...He is with God. So much God must love us to keep us, take us and comfort us as we continue on our journey to get home with the LORD.

God Bless you and may God bless the family of Ryan. May God bless all those who are hurting with loved ones away fighting for our freedom. Thank God for those men and women! My family knows that they are heros and nothing else needs to be said. It is humbling. God bless us one and all. My heart, my faith, my love to everyone and with that alone we know that Jesus is LORD.

God Bless and God Bless...Karen Rowe from North Carolina

And now here is Karen..............

Peace to you and from the Word of God:

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Romans 5:1-5

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has give us.”

Against All Odds…We have HOPE…

That is amazing power in God!!! That against all odds that we see before us…Against all odds that look grim and unachievable by anyone, much less ‘me’…That against ALL odds in this world, we have a God that can do the impossible!!!

When we put our faith in our LORD Jesus, we allow HIM to work in mighty and powerful ways in our life!!! In health, in business, in service, and in LIFE…our life and the lives of others…God can and does use us to do the impossible!!!

Why, you may wonder??? Quiet simply because when we honor Jesus by faith and obedience, we are honoring God by our love and obedience and thus, our life brings glory to God!!! And let’s not forget that God loves us and Jesus tells us that if we have faith as little as a mustard seed, you can do these great wonders!!!

God loves us!!! Not to say that life will be ‘peachy’ all the time…because it won’t! God even loved us enough to warn us, but in warning us, HE encouraged us and instructed us how to stay strong even in the grimmest of situations…that HE will NEVER leave or forsake us…And Jesus said, do not love money….and Love our LORD our God 1st…And love others 2nd…and HE will never leave or forsake us…

HE is spelling it out to us…Trust in the LORD with ALL our heart and lean not on our own understanding…

WHY…Because HE will never leave or forsake us! That we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength!!!

Faith as little as a mustard seed….How much more can we do with GREAT FAITH in JESUS!!!

Where is our HOPE??? Our hope is in JESUS!!! HE gives us LIFE!!! Jesus is bigger than life…Jesus serves for the Glory of God!!!

What are we hoping for and what is our motivation??? Is it is for all good purposes with no selfish motivation??? Will it bring Glory to God???

In all things for which we have hope for, even if as little as a mustard seed, when our hope is IN Jesus with God 1st as the priority in our life, we can know that God will bless us because of our loyal faith and we will succeed against all odds!!! Because it brings Glory to God!!!

The most powerful thing that a Christian can say is …God bless you…To be blessed by the creator of the heavens and the earth; to be blessed by the power of Christ in our life…is a gift from God to be received with PRAISE and THANKSGIVING!!!

To God is the Glory FOREVER and EVER…AMEN!!

Where there is HOPE, there is JESUS …We need HOPE to have FAITH!

God loves you...God Bless you... and God IS Good!

May we all remember to spread God’s love and hope in Jesus today!!!

Love in Christ, our precious Jesus,

Karen Rowe

Thanks Karen!!!

9/11 CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Today being 9/11 you would think I would have a lot to say. But God has stopped me this morning from writing........to reflect and be silent and seek HIM.

God has told me to share this with you........

Today as all days, there will be a lot of nothing noise.........a lot of words spokes that mean nothing.

Today I am going to the funeral of 29 year old Ryan Husted.

On 9/11 a great number of deaths occurred and since then many more with the war.

There is Hope for troubled times.........and it is in Jesus Christ.

There is hope everywhere.

Today God gives milk

and I have the pail

Written by Anne Sexton

I believe in the sun, even if it does not shine.

I believe in love, even if I do not feel it.

I believe in God, even if I do not see HIM.

That was written on the wall of the Warsaw Ghetto by an unknown Jew, circa 1942.

God is the only hope in this troubled world.........true peace can only be found in HIM.

The last month or so I have been blessed by two people who have served time in prison. Jenny and Karen. Jenny was arrested 24 times before age 16........Karen has been in prison 3 times........repeat offenders....but you know what? they have been broken down......they have been sexually abused, beaten, spit upon...........they have told their stories on KKIM. They have been raised up by Jesus Christ and HIS angels. Both Jenny and Karen are walking with the Lord......What a miracle!!! Why do I share this today on 9/11..........because God told me to tell all of us that HE still does miracles and we need to put our faith in HIM and HIM alone.

America has been looking for a leader.................and Jesus Christ has been waiting.

In Timothy 4:7, Paul says, "train yourself in godliness"

Please Pray with us KKIM/DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family,

I shared with you the very sad news of the passing of 29 year old Ryan Husted yesterday on News and Views. I serve on the Board of Directors at the Arc of New Mexico where Ryan's Mother Doris works. Doris has given much over the years to the people of New Mexico, she is a special lady. Ryan had just graduated from CNM and was getting active in his Church and he went to bed Friday night and did not get up. Please keep Doris and husband Tony and Family in your prayers please. Doris is one of God's angels here on earth doing HIS work for those less fortunate. Many of you who read this cup know Doris so I share the following info.............

I wanted to let you and everyone else know that Ryan's service will be
Thursday, the 11th, at 10 AM at First Family Church which is one block
north of Montgomery on Wyoming. If Someone there would pass this along I
would appreciate it.
Thanks
Doris

Can you imagine the pain Doris and Tony and the rest of the family is going through. I had a nice talk with Doris yesterday and she laughed and cried through the conversation. I told her we are here to pray for her and lift her up at this time and that we will always be here for her. In the next couple of weeks when family and friends go back to their lives, it is at that time Doris and family will need us even more.

It is times like these that I really thank the Lord for you prayer warriors.........your prayers bring comfort to many!

We can learn from Ryan that we may have plans for ourselves........but the Lord can call us home at anytime. Are you ready? What if this was your last day here on earth?

God Bless you Ryan!

"Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth." Revelation 3:10

We will have another posting before the week is out but also wanted to share with you the need for prayer for the following events..........There are many things going on in the state of New Mexico to bring people closer to God........Please pray for HIS will to be done in all these works.

God has established governments as ministries to provide order in the nations so that we are able to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world to further the Great Commission. (Roman roads paved the way for the Gospel.) He is sovereign over the nations and removes leaders and establishes leaders as He wishes. In our country He has given us the privilege to vote for candidates from which our leaders are elected. As citizens of heaven and of this country we are to pray and to vote wisely to influence the culture on marriage and the unborn. The best protection for the unborn is in a marriage.

Please pray for the Vision America Crusades to encourage believers to vote their values on marriage and the unborn in the 2008 General Election. Please feel free to attend any one of these Crusades, which are as follows:

Just A Quick Cup with Dewey KKIM/DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family,

I did not intend to write today, but the Lord has spoken to my heart to share this........

Many of you know that I play softball with the Heights Christian Church team. Last night we lost our final game.....but we did not LOSE!

I am thankful to God for the time I have had with these men. What brothers in Christ! When a fellow teammate would mess up there was never any yelling or judgement.......just encouragement. There was always prayer and care. These men have inspired me in my walk with Jesus Christ.

You never know who you are touching in your walk with Jesus Christ. Few things are more infectious than a godly lifestyle. The people you rub shoulders with everyday need that kind of challenge (me included)

We do not need to be prudish, not preachy....just crackerjack clean living!

Just honest-to-goodness, bone deep, non hypocritical integrity. Authentic obedience to God.

Please think about this.........and pray about this..........picture yourself today walking and talking with Jesus.

I thank you Lord for my friends at Heights Christian for their walk with you made me grow closer to YOU! AMEN!!!

God Bless you, Dewey Sharon and family

Our prayer meeting was AWESOME!!!........

Hi Dewey,
Blessings to you today and to your lovely wife Sharon. I thought you would like to know that our prayer meeting last night was a blessing. We had about 60 folks show up from around the city. Thanks to KKIM for all of the great publicity. I believe God is blessing this effort and it will only grow in participation and intensity because — we are praying. Prayer touches God's heart like no other way. God bless.

Here is a note from our dear friend Shauna.........we are planning a seminar for Christian Business people and leaders of Ministries.........stay tuned.........
Dewey,

I so enjoyed our conversation, and am looking forward to working together on the seminar, etc.

I thought you would find the attached information fun, and uplifting. Although it is light-hearted, it is also full of wisdom, and since we know God uses many messengers, I encourage reading it closely, while smiling Big. J

Subject: Installing Love

Tech Support: Yes, how can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

T.S.: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

C: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready.
What do I do first?

T.S.: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

C: Yes, but there are several other programs running now.
Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

T.S.: What programs are running?

C: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge, and Resentment running right now.

T.S.: No problem. Love will gradually delete Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment.
Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed.
Can you turn those off?

C: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

T.S.: With pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely deleted.

C: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

T.S.: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

C: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?

T.S.: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

C: So what should I do?

T.S. Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge Your Limitations.

C: Okay, done.

T.S.: Now copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

C: Got it. Hey! My Heart is filling up with new files.
Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over my Heart. Is this normal?

T.S.: Sometimes. For others, it takes awhile, but eventually gets it at the proper time. So, Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up.
Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various components to everyone you meet. They will in turn, share it with others and return some cool components back to you.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I hope you enjoyed this.

I have gotten many requests for copies of this special report KKIM's Frank Haley read on Labor Day........

Hello NM Im fh, Happy Labor day everybody,

As you rest from your daily labor today, I'd like to tell you how you can live a healther life by following
God's word. The Bible says that God first
separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden,
made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided
what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when
eaten raw. We're such slow learners...

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part
of our body!
God's Pharmacy is Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris
and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now
shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four
chambers and is red. Research shows tomatoes are loaded with
lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart.
Each grape looks like a blood cell and research shows
grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right
hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or
folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help
develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney
function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Rhubarb and many more look just like
bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium
and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your
diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods
replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and
function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these
organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it
balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical
cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow
an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic
chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern
science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow.
Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm
as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the
glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just
like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the
breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows
onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even
produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working
companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free
radicals from the body.
So If we'd just follow God's clues in the Bible in all things, food, attitudes, situations,
relationships, we'd be a lot better off. I hope you have a restful Labor day. and remember
starting eating those fresh fruits and vegetables that the Bible and your Mother have been
tell you to eat all along.

I'm fh cjf ...

Pat sent this in....watch it it is so CUTE!!

Too bad they can't understand him, because he is
really intentional about his message.. I've never seen anything like it.
He even knows when he's finished!

I would like to see him when he can really talk.

You can't tell what he is saying, but he is a preachin' !

This is one the cutest things I have seen in a while. I just had to share it with you..

This is from our dear friend David Standridge of Warrior Life.........

There is an Enemy!

Enemy is defined as: one that is antagonistic to another; especially: one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent 2: something harmful or deadly 3 a: a military adversary b: a hostile unit or force

We are familiar with the term of enemy when it comes to military movies, games, political discussions and even sporting events. We often throw the term around in a nonchalant sort of way. As a man who is seeking to live a warrior life, however, we must realize that we have an enemy and that enemy is out to destroy us.

It is real easy to kind of throw off the idea of an actual enemy out to hurt you, but it is an everyday reality for those living the warrior life. If you ask most military folks they will tell you that the most dangerous enemy is the one you cannot see and who is camoflauged from perception. In the realm of war, it is easy to handle an enemy that is openly attacking you from across the field, but it is much more difficult when that enemy employs stealth and deceit to your harm.

So too in our everyday lives, we must become diligent to understand, recognize and be on the alert for the enemy that is trying to take you out. The enemy we face is coming to kill, steal and destroy you. John 10:10. Those are not just some ho-hum words. Those are words of caution and warning. too often, however, we do not head he warning. If we truly lived to the level of an on guard, alert warrior then we would be much more careful about who and what we allow to come into our lives. Your current state of life is a direct result of the level of caution you have exercised over yourself on an everyday basis. Despite this fact, we still continue to operate in life with a less than alert state of being towards our enemy. Your enemy, Satan, is real and has a real life plan for you and your future.

Think about the difference between a fight an attack. A fight is where two men decide on rules, length of time, manner of approach, etc. In a fight, certain boundaries exist for the ultimate protection of the fighters. Fights often involve strategy, skill, etc. An attack, on the other hand, is a no holds bar, aggressive assault on an individual. The attack is not welcomed. The attack is not asked for. The attack does not follow any rules. The attacker uses whatever is available to accomplish the goal. The one being attacked either responds by fleeing, cowering or attacking back with an all out assault. The difference between the two is necessary to understand what sort of life you live. Your enemy will not "fight" you. There are no ground rules. There are no fluffy gestures, boundaries or borders. Your enemy is seeking to attack you. To take you off guard. To use any tactic or method to bring you down. He is seeking whom he can devour. 1 Peter 5:8.

What methods are employed for your demise? You must recognize them if you plan on being successful in your warrior life. The attack on you can come from the weapon of anger, alcohol, porn, fear, laziness, complacency, etc. Whatever you find as a weakness in your life, that is the method that your enemy will use to cut you down. This isn't a panzy topic. This is an absolutely necessary issue you must face. You must realize that your enemy will come to destroy you.

It is amazing how many men are lulled to sleep and ultimately destroyed without ever even trying to put up a counter attack against the enemy. If a robber broke into your house and wanted to rape your wife, eat your food, sit in your chair would you just sit back and let it happen. NO, absolutely not!!!! However, we do that everyday when it comes to our lives. We watch things we shouldn't watch, we listen to things we shouldn't listen to, we invite relationships into our lives that do not build us up and we think on things that are not in line with our true warrior spirit. Such small things come in and eventually lead us down the path of complacency and mediocrity. It's not the big things that we need to be worried about (we all would probably be aware of the big things). It is the little things that creep in that start to bring mold into our lives.

I for one am done with living a life on terms of the enemy. I am ready to move forward. I know that moving forward requires me to acknowledge and live with the instinct that there is an enemy and that enemy is trying to destroy me. As I make this declaration, I know that I need to bring my life to a higher level of alertness. I must be aware of my surroundings, my thoughts and my decisions. I challenge you today to recognize how the enemy has come after your life. Has the enemy attacked your body? your marriage? your mind? If so, rise up today and understand that you do not have to continue to live at the mercy of your enemy. Rise up today and reclaim the warrior spirit.

Wilma and Mia were thrown together by the Holocaust, living as 'sisters' to fool the Nazis. The end of the war separated them - until Saturday.
By Rhoda Fukushima rgfukushima@pioneerpress.com

Article Last Updated: 09/07/2008 12:19:07 AM CDT

Wilma Stienstra's back was stick-straight. Her hands grabbed her cane. Her toes tapped the floor. A bouquet of sunflowers and statice lay on her lap. She looked expectantly as passengers walked through the 'International Arrivals' door at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday afternoon.
Stienstra, of Lake Crystal, Minn., was waiting for Mia Lakmaker to arrive from Israel, by way of Amsterdam.
During the Holocaust, Stienstra's family hid Lakmaker, a little Jewis h girl, from the Nazis at their home in the Netherlands. Lakmaker stayed with them for 2 1/2 years.
That was 63 years ago. The last time the two saw each other, Lakmaker was 5; Stienstra was 13.
"I just want to hold her, squeeze her," Stienstra said before the reunion. "I think she wants to do the same."
HIDING IN THE NETHERLANDS
In 1942, Wilma Stienstra was Wilma Woudstra, 11, the sixth of eight children of Sipke and Femmy Woudstra.
The Woudstras lived in the city of IJlst in the northern part of the Netherlands. A well-to-do family, they had a big house and a maid.
Sipke Woudstra decided their family would hide Jews during the Holocaust — at no small risk to their own safety. Many families in their small city hid Jews through an underground network.
"We were a Christian family," Stienstra said. "My father thought it was horrible that the Germans rounded up Jews. Just to kill people you don't like ..."
The Woudstras first hid a Jewish couple, who

lived in the upstairs part of the house. Wilma loved spending time with "Aunt Susie."
Six months later, Sipke Woudstra decided to take in another person, a child. The day the child was to arrive, Sipke Woudstra told his children they had to go to bed early so they would not see the person who brought her.
That night, a woman left Mia Lakmaker with the Woudstras. She was 2 1/2 years old.
"She started screaming for her mother," Stienstra recalled.
PART OF THE BROOD
In many ways, Wilma became Mia's surrogate mother.
Wilma took care of her, washed her, put her to bed.
"Mia and I really bonded," Stienstra said.
Mia also filled a huge void in the Woudstra home. The family was still grieving Wilma's little sister, who had died the previous year.
Mia became part of the brood. On e day, German soldiers came to their town. They let her be.
"We said she was a little evacuee from Amsterdam," Stienstra recalled. "Other people in our town didn't ask. They knew."
In 1945, the war ended. The Woudstra children pleaded to keep Mia, but it wasn't to be. Perhaps her parents are still alive, their parents said. Besides, it wasn't acceptable then to keep Jewish children with Christian families.
"It was very hard" to let her go, Stienstra said.
Mia Lakmaker was too young to know her parents had been ordered to go to a "work camp," a euphemism for a Nazi concentration camp. They boarded a train for Sobibor, Poland, and were later gassed to death. Her parents were in their 20s. She was their only child.
After the war, an aunt claimed Mia and a cousin who had developed tuberculosis in a camp. Living in a small apartment, Mia also contracted TB. She was sent to a sanitarium for over a year and was abandoned. After she recovered, she was placed with foster parents, who raised her.
Over time, the Woudstras lost track of her. But they always wondered what had happened to their little Mia.
'WILMA, I HAVE NEWS'
Last fall, at her home in Tel Aviv, Israel, Lakmaker was looking over old photos. She came across a picture of a family with a notation: "This is the family Woudstra who hid you for 2 1/2 years. 1943-1945."
Lakmaker wanted to find the family. Eventuall y, she contacted a television station in the Netherlands, which did a story on her search. Stienstra's brothers heard about the piece and called their sister in Minnesota.
"Wilma, I have news ..." her brother said.
In time, Lakmaker and Stienstra had an emotional reunion on the phone. Stienstra started filling in some of the blanks from the years Lakmaker lived with her family.
"I could tell her what was in her little suitcase that her mother packed — the little tea service," Stienstra said.
They could also catch up.
Lakmaker is 68 now, Stienstra 76. Both are retired. Lakmaker is married with three children and seven grandchildren. Stienstra is married with five children and nine grandchildren. Stienstra and her husband, a minister, lived in several cities in Canada and the United States before retiring to Lake Crystal.
Though the two women talked by phone regularly, a face-to-face reunion was doubtful. Stienstra is not well enough to travel, and Lakmaker could not afford the trip to the Twin Cities.
But with help from Northwest Airlines and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, the pair found themselves at the international arrivals door Saturday.
TOGETHER AGAIN
"Mia!"
"Oh, my God!"
"Nice to see you!"
"I'm crying I'm so happy!"
Stienstra hugged Lakmaker tightly and wouldn't let go. When she did, s he clasped Lakmaker's hand for a moment, then put her hand through the crook of Lakmaker's arm.
In time, Lakmaker met Stienstra's husband, daughter, son-in-law, son and grandson, who had come for the reunion. The Stienstras met Lakmaker's cousin, who had traveled with her.
Tears streamed down Lakmaker's cheeks. Stienstra gently rubbed them away.
Like a mother would.

The Bible tells us, that you and I are the stewards of all that God has given us. And that one day, you and I will have to give an account for all we have received. "Much has been given and much will be demanded." This stewardship includes the freedom and responsibility God has given you and me to select the leaders of our great land. You and I are the stewards of our vote. To be faithful to this stewardship we must register to vote and on Election Day, knowing full well that every candidate is a fallen creature in need of God's grace and we must support those candidates who most approximate Biblical truth.
Though Christians came out to vote in record numbers in 2004, only 26% bothered to vote. A staggering 74% buried their talent.

“Elitist Corruption” by Mark Ortega
In both sides of my family, people have always been good citizens. My mother was an old school Democrat of FDR, JFK, and LBJ. She was a patriotic American. She despised Nixon and loved Kennedy. My oldest brother was a Marine in Vietnam. In my mother’s family there is a long line of Veterans dating back to the American Revolution. My father was a Republican who was an Air Force Veteran who fought in the Korean War. He loved Nixon. My earliest memories of politics were of my mom talking about how much Nixon was a crook. She worked for a law firm and regularly went to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

40 Days For Life. It is a peaceful event so for 40 days (September 24-Nov 2) we are going to hold a constant vigil at Planned Parenthood at San Mateo from 7 am to 7 pm by taking 1 hour shifts to pray. I have teamed up with a Catholic ministry called Project Defending Life, which is next door to PP. So, people throughout Albuquerque many branches of Christianity are going to come together and pray for an end to abortion. The other aspect of the event is going to be fasting, which could be anything from traditional fasting once a week, to giving up TV or something. Anyways, I've attached the website for the Albuquerque location since it is a worldwide event. They've held this event across the country and have had amazing results including 2 abortion centers shutting down, over 500 women have decided not to have abortions, and 5 PP employees have walked away from their jobs. Anyways, let me know if you are interested in being a part of the vigil. If you cannot make it down, then prayer anywhere is always good! Good Morning KKIM Family!

WOW!!! PRAISE GOD! Jannetta sent me the stats for August......We had 397 new folks visit DDC in the past month a RECORD for us!!! I am so thankful for that as I pray everyday we are reaching new folks and bringing them joy in the LORD, hope and peace. That is like having 397 new people come to Church, this is a HUGE blessing in the LORD. We had a RECORD 28, 304 HITS!! for August. I want to thank Jannetta for the work she is doing, without her it does not happen. I also thank my wife Sharon who is a great help to me as the Ministry of KKIM/DDC grows in the Lord. Again without her this does not happen. I thank the Lord for the words he gives me each day to say.......I thank you all for being part of the KKIM/DDC family..PRAISE GOD!!! It is right to give HIM THANKS and PRAISE

Yesterday I interviewed Stuart A. Ashman Cabinet Secretary for Cultural Affairs for American General Media's Public Service Program that airs on all our stations on Sundays. He announced on the program this years winners of the annual Cultural Affairs awards. Our sister station Classical KHFM won for it's outstanding service to the Land of Enchantment. Stuart was born in Cuba and has much information as to what is going on in that country. He told me something that has not been covered by the media. 96,000 homes were destroyed in Cuba from the most recent storm. He did not have a death count. Please pray for the Cuban people. He also told me that China is starting to really develop a strong relationship with the Castro's. New state of the art public transportation buses from China are running around in Cuba........China is also going to start offshore drilling near Cuba. I am going to have Stuart on New Mexico News and Views soon to talk about Cuba, a land and people we need to keep in our prayers.

Go to www.mykkim.com and read about Dr. Deb who starts her call in show this Saturday morning at 8:05! It is going to be an outstanding show!

Also go to www.mykkim.com for details on tonight's prayer service at Heights Christian Church.

One of my most favorite Presidents of the United States was TR!!! I found a write up on him and it is posted below......it is long but it sure is worth the read........we must know our history to move forward.

Gouverneur Morris writer of the final draft of the Constitution of the United States said this as he faced the end of his life...........

"Descend towards the grave full of gratitude to the Giver of all good."

A Message for all of us...........let us all descend toward the end of life here with gratitude and love for all and most of all for our Heavenly Father. Let us serve HIM while here on earth.

Faith in God is an experience that lives and grows by praise. There is continual spiral reinforcement: praising God helps us to appreciate what one is praising God for. David F. Ford

It is right to sing PRAISES to the Lord!!!

Please join me in singing.........come on now let's hear you........don't be shy!!! LET OUR FAITH BE HEARD!!!

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, the Lord God the Almighty, who was and is and is to come.........You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created." AMEN AMEN

Revelation 4: 8-11

That should get your blood flowing!!!!

Okay........now back to earth!!! Living a life for HIM is so exciting is it not? WOW too much coffee!!!!

You have to love this quote.............

What's the difference between a Hockey Mom and a Pit Bull....Lip stick!!! Gov. Sarah Palin

I am now going to turn it over to Karen Rowe.........

Good Morning! How special do you feel today?

Sometimes in our busy lives, it is easy to forget that we are special to God!
In all that we do, we can remember that God will be with us. We may ask HIM for wisdom, courage, flexibility in our schedule that better manages all that we try to balance. He does that for me! I wanted to slip a little note in to you today and God has helped me manage so much this morning and now HE is helping me share HIS WORD!

To God we give all, because from God we have all. We thank God together as we love each other.

James 1:2-5

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when ever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

May God bless you with HIS presence!

God Will lead…HE will not fail…Will we follow???
From Karen Rowe
It takes faith to walk through the door that God opens…

It takes courage in God to take us where we know that HE is leading.

It takes a mindful heart to please God to HIS understanding that we want what HE wants.

It takes a thankful heart to trust God enough to be happy right where we are today.

It takes praise to God to get us where we will be tomorrow!

It takes patience to wait and not to worry…

All praises go to God…HE is here; HE is powerful; HE is good and HE will never fail…

Even a step further…HE will never fail us…HE just will never fail…HE is forever; HE IS God and thank God that HE knows that I love HIM…Does God know that you love HIM too??? Because…HE LOVES YOU!!!

Have you understood God in your life today???

Do you know you are where God wants you to be???

Can you wait on God’s direction until you are sure???

Can you step out on Faith once you are certain???

I hope for God to smile on your heart today and know that good things, done by God are coming your way...yes there is a testimony to this…don’t we all have testimonies!!! That is the POWER of God…HE makes Himself known! And I shout praise to HIM again…Praise God! Thank God! We love our God!!!

God is good!!!!

… All the time and all the time God is good! Amen and Amen…

Love in Christ,

I found this excellent history piece at the Star Tribune...........It is long, but more than worth the read..........

Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1901: Roosevelt at the fair
Posted on August 21st, 2005 – 8:41 AM
By Ben Welter

Vice President Theodore Roosevelt delivered his “Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick” speech at the Minnesota State Fair on Sept. 2, 1901. He was 42 years old; in less than two weeks he would become the youngest U.S. president in history in the wake of President William McKinley’s assassination.

Undated Star Tribune file photo
Minneapolis Tribune coverage of Roosevelt’s speech is an early example of unintentionally nonlinear storytelling. The disorganized arrangement of stories and photos spread across several pages makes it difficult to quickly figure out who he was, when he arrived, why he came and what he said. Of course, a contemporary reader keeping up with the events of the week probably would have been able to scan the paper more quickly than a 21st-century reader coming to it cold.
On the front page, there are just two referen ces to Roosevelt’s visit: a photo of him and Gov. Van Sant reviewing National Guard troops, and an editorial cartoon showing Roosevelt tipping his hat to “Minneapolis labor” (in the form of a thinly smiling, oversize steel milk can). No mention is made of the exhaustive coverage inside. Inside, there’s a blow-by-blow account of his arrival in Minneapolis, where thousands of citizens lined Hennepin Avenue and other streets to greet him as he passed. There’s a blow-by-blow account of the vice-presidential procession to St. Paul. A transcript of Roosevelt’s lengthy speech at the grandstand takes up nearly a third of a page. You have to feel sorry for the poor sap who had to transcribe the opus without a recording device.
Helpfully, editors provided a highlights box — “Extracts from Vice-President’s Speech” — for readers too busy to plow through the sea of 8-point text. The highlights do not include the signature phrase for which the speech became known, “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” This oversight is an example of why newspapers are known as the first draft of history.

Here are excerpts from Roosevelt’s 5,300-word speech, as reported in the Minneapolis Tribune dated Sept. 3, 1901:
‘We Must Raise Others While
We Are Being Benefited.”
Keynote of the Opening State Fair Address Delivered
Yesterday by Vice-President
Roosevelt.
The Duties of One Citizen to His Neighbor Not more Important, However, Than the Duties of the United States as a Nation to Other Nations.
The vice-president delivered his address at the opening of the state fair yesterday to a larger crowd than has ever been seen on the grounds on the first day of this annual event.
The hundreds who listened to him felt they had profited by the experience. His address was an inspiriting encouragement of the right and the strength in the individual as well as the nation. The duties of the citizen of the United States to his neighbor was not more important, according to the vice-president, than the duties of the United States as a nation to the other nations of the earth. He emphasized the fact that “we must raise others while we are benefiting ourselves.”
The strength of the address appealed to the crowd, whose appreciation of its sentiments was shown time and again by the warm applause which it elicted. [sic]
Following is Vice-President Roosevelt’s address in full:
In his admirable series of studies of Twentieth century problems Dr. Lyman Abbott has pointed out that we are a nation of pioneers; that the first colonists to our shores were pioneers, and that pioneers selected out from among the descendants of these early pioneers, mingled with others selected afresh from the old world, pushed westward into the wilderness, and laid the foundations for new commonwealths. They were men of hope and energy; for the men of dull content or more dull despair had no part in the great movement into and across the new world. Our country has been populated by pioneers, and therefore it has in it more energy, more enterprise, more expansive power than any other in the wide world.

You whom I am now addressing stand, for the most part, but one generation removed from these pioneers. You are typical Americans, for you have done the great, the characteristic, the typical work of our American life. In making homes and carving out careers for yourselves, and your children, you have built up this state; throughout our history the success of the homemaker has been but another name for the upbuilding of the nation. The men who with ax in the forest and pick in the mountains and plow on the prairies, pushed to completion the dominion of our people over the American wilderness have given the definite shape to our nation. They have shown the qualities of daring, endurance and far-sightedness, of eager desire for victory and stubborn refusal to accept defeat, which go to make up the essential manliness of the American character. Above all they have recognized the practical form the fundamental law of success in American life – the law of worthy work, the law of high, resolute endeavor. We have but little room among our people for the timid, the irresolute and the idle, and it is no less true that there is scant room in the world at large for the nation with mi ghty thews that dares not to be great. …

The caption on this front-page cartoon: “Teddy takes his hat off to Minneapolis labor.”

Every father and mother here, if they are wise, will bring up their children not to shirk difficulties, but to meet them and overcome them; not to strive after a life of ignoble ease, but to strive to do their duty, first to themselves and their families and then to the whole state; and this duty must inevitably take the shape of work in some form or other. You, the sons of pioneers, if you are true to your ancestry, must make your lives as worthy as they made theirs. They sought for true success, and therefore they did not seek ease. They knew that success comes only to those who lead the life of endeavor. …
No hard and fast rule can be laid down as to where our legislation shall stop in interfering between man and man, between interest and interest. All that can be said is that it is highly undesirable on the one hand, to weaken individual initiative, and on the other hand, that in a constantly increasing number of cases we shall find it necessary in the future to shackle cunning as in the past we have shackled force.
It is not only highly desirable, but necessary, that there should be legislation which shall carefully shield the interest of wage workers, and which shall discriminate in favor of the hones and human employer by removing the disadvantages under which he stands when compared with unscrupulous competitors who have no conscience, and will do right only under fear of punishment.
Nor can legislation stop only with what are termed labor questions. The vast individual and corporate fortunes, the vast combinations of capital which have marked the development of our industrial system, create new conditions, and necessitate a change from the old attitude of state and the nation toward property. …
Right here let me make as vigorous a plea as I know how in favor of saying nothing that we do not mean, and of acting without hesitation up to whatever we say. A good many of you are probably acquainted with the old proverb, “Speak softly and carry a big stick – you will go far.” If a man continually blusters, if he lacks civility, a big stick will not save him from trouble, and neither will speaking softly avail, if back of the softness there does not lie strength, power. In private life there are few beings more obnoxious than the man who is always loudly boasting, and if the boaster is not prepared to back up his words, his position becomes absolutely contemptible. So it is with the nation. It is both foolish and undignified to indulge in undue self-glorification, and, above all, in loose-tongued denunciation of other peoples. When ever on any point we come in contact with a foreign power, I hope that we shall always strive to speak courteously and respectfully of that foreign power.
Let us make it evident that we intend to do justice. Then let us make it equally evident that we will not tolerate injustice being done us in return. Let us further make it evident that we use no words which we are not which prepared to back up with deeds, and that while our speech is always moderate, we are ready and willing to make it good. Such an attitude will be the surest possible guarantee of that self-respecting peace, the attainment of which is and must ever be the prime aim of a self-governing people. …
This is the attitude we should take as regards the Monroe doctrine. There is not the least need of blustering about it. Still less should it be used as a pretext for our own aggrandizement at the expense of any other American state. But most emphatically, we must make it evident that we intend on this point ever to maintain the old American position. Indeed, it is hard to understand how any man can take any other position now that we are all looking forward to the building of the Isthmian canal. The Monroe doctrine is not international law, but there is no necessity that it should be. …
Four days after Roosevelt spoke at the fair, Pre sident McKinley was shot by an assassin in Buffalo, N.Y.

Our dealings with Cuba illustrate this, and should be forever a subject of just national pride. We speak in no spirit of arrogance when we state as a simple historic fact that never in recent times has any great nation acted with such disinterestedness as we have shown in Cuba. We freed the island from the Spanish yoke. We then earnestly did our best to help the Cubans in the establishment of free education, of law and order, of material prosperity, of the cleanliness necessary to salutary well-being in their great cities. We did all this at great expense of treasure, at some expense of life, and now we are establishing them in a free and independent commonwealth, and have asked in return nothing whatever save that at no time shall their independence be prostituted to the advantage of some foreign rival of ours, or so as to menace our well-being. To have failed to ask this would have amounted to national stultification on our part.
In the Philippines we have brought peace, and we are at this moment giving them such freedom and self-government as they could never under any conceivable conditions have obtained had we turned them loose to sink into a welter of blood, and confusion, or to become the prey of some strong tyranny without or within. The bare recital of the facts is sufficient to show that we did our duty, and what prouder title to honor can a nation have than to have do ne its duty? We have done our duty to ourselves, and we have done the higher duty of promoting the civilization of mankind. …
Barbarism has and can have no place in a civilized world. It is our duty toward the people living in barbarism to see that they are freed from their chains, and we can only free them by destroying barbarism itself. The missionary, the merchant and the soldier may each have to play a part in this destruction, and in the consequent uplifting of the people. Exactly as it is the duty of a civilized power scrupulously to respect the rights of all weaker civilized powers and gladly to help those who are struggling towards civilization, so it is its duty to put down savagery and barbarism. As in such a work human instruments must be used, and as human instruments are imperfect, this means that at times there will be injustices, that at times, merchant, or soldier, ore even missionary may do wrong.
Let us instantly condemn and rectify such wrong when it occurs, and if possible punish the wrong-doer. But, shame, thrice shame to us, if we are so foolish as to make such occasional wrong-doing an excuse for failing to perform a great and righteous task. No only in our own land, but throughout history, the advance of civilization has been of incalculable benefit to mankind, and those through whom it has advanced deserve the higher honor. All honor to the missionary, all honor to the soldier, all honor to the merchant who now in our own day have done so much to bring light into the world’s dark places.

The vice president found time to saddle up near the grandstand during his visit to the fair. (Photo courtesy mnhs.org)

Let me insist again, for fear of possible misconstruction, upon the fact that our duty is two-fold, and that we must raise others while we are benefiting ourselves. In bringing order to the Philippines, our soldiers added a new page to the honor-roll of American history and they incalculably benefited the islanders themselves. Under the wise administration of Gov. Taft the islands now enjoy a peace and liberty of which they have hitherto never even dreamed. But this peace and liberty under the law must be supplemented by material, by industrial development, to the introduction of American industries and products; no merely because this will be a good thing for our people, but infinitely more because it will be of incalculable benefit to the people of the Philippines.
We shall make mistakes; and if we let these mistakes frighten us from work, we shall show ourselves weaklings. Half a century ago Minnesota and the two Dakotas were Indian hunting grounds.20We committed plenty of blunders, and now and then worse than blunders, in our dealings with the Indians. But who does not admit at the present day that we were right in wresting from barbarism and adding to civilization the territory out of which we have made these beautiful states? And now we are civilizing the Indian and putting him on a level to which he could never have attained under the old conditions.
In the Philippines let us remember that the spirit and not the mere form of government is the essential matter. The Tagalogs have a hundred-fold the freedom under us that they would have if we had abandoned the islands. We are not trying to subjugate a people; we are trying to develop them, and make them a law-abiding, industrious and educated people, and we hope, ultimately, a self-governing people. In short, in the work we have done, we are but carrying out the true principles of our democracy. We work in a spirit of self-respect for ourselves and of good-will toward others, in a spirit of love for and of infinite faith in mankind. We do not blindly refuse to face the evils that exist; or the shortcomings inherent in humanity; but across blunderings and shirking, across selfishness and meanness of motive, across short-sightedness and cowardice, we gaze steadfastly toward the far horizon of golden triumph.
If you study our past history as a nation you will see we have made many blunders and have been guilty of many shortcomings, and yet that we have always20in the end come out victorious because we have refused to be daunted by blunders and defeats—have recognized them, but have preserved in spite of them. So it must be in the future. We gird up our loins as a nation with the stern purpose to play our part manfully in winning the ultimate triumph, and therefore we turn scornfully aside from the paths of mere ease and idleness, and with unfaltering steps tread the rough road of endeavor, smiting down the wrong and battling for the right as Greatheart smote and battled in Bunyan’s immortal story.

Dear Friends, we have a prayer need that comes form Harmony and Andrea........

Hi Dewey

Thank you for the DDC!! It's a blessing. We would like to request Prayer for our friend and co-worker Ellie. She's in a lot of pain and the Doc's are not sure what's ailing her yet. Please pray the Lord relieves her pain and give the Dr's the answers needed to fight this set back. Please pray for the Lord to take away this devil that tries to hold in pain this good Christian woman and keep her from her every day goals and joy. Thanks Dewey, we have seen that the Lord works strongly through you and your prayer warriors.

Pray On!!!

PS: Tried the pray request page on the Website but it came back with “Page Expired”, might want to check it out. Thanks again!!

Thank you for sending the prayer need for Ellie. We will PRAY ON!!!! Our friend Nic sent the following on prayer.........

When We Pray, God Works!

Two things about prayer are truly amazing: (1) God listens when we pray. "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (See Mk 11:24). You may not have much clout anywhere else, but when you pray God listens. (2) We seldom pray. We've the greatest privilege imaginable - access to the control center of the Universe -- yet we rarely use it. And our lack of prayer surprises God.
Through the prophet Ezekiel He lamented: "I sought for a man among them who would...stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one" (Eze 22:30 NKJV). Upon learning that Sodom and Gomorrah were going to be destroyed, Abraham didn't rush to warn the cities. No, he chose to "[remain] standing before the Lord" (Ge 18:22 NIV). When God said the golden calf warranted a nationwide death penalty for Israel, Moses interceded and saved them. One translation of Exodus 32:11 says, "Moses soothed the face of his God." An obscure priest by the name of Phinehas begged God not to send the plague, and it was checked. (See Ps 106:30 NIV).

You say "Why place such a premium on prayer?" Simple. Because when we work, we work. But when we pray, God works! Scripture attaches breathtaking power to prayer. "When two of you get together on anything...and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action" (Mt 18:19 TM). Does any other activity promise such results? Did God call us to preach without ceasing? Or have committee meetings without ceasing? No, but He did call us to "pray without ceasing."

Now my friends, we can all go to prayer and God will do the rest. Amen and PRAISE GOD!

God inhabits the PRAISE of the people.

God Bless you all, Dewey

PS I have to say that the speech by Gov. Sarah Palin gives me such hope.........she is such a breath of fresh air! I am a registered Independent..........I think she is so good for America, and this small town Minnesota boy loves that fact she is from a small town........enough of the good ol boy network, Sharon said after her speech, "Honey, can we vote for her for President"

Here is a write up I found on her...........

Palin: Iraq war 'a task that is from God'
By GENE JOHNSON
Associated Press Writer

AP Photo/Susan Walsh

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."
Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."
A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.
Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.
Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.
"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."
The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."

An Organic Cup Of Coffee/ KKIM/DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family,

I will be with you. Exodus 3:12

Christ provides the POWER to us in our weakness.

How are you doing today?

I thank you all for your prayers and support...........please keep us in your prayers that we always do the Lord's will and not ours!

Please go to www.deweysdailycup.com and look at the wonderful pictures posted there!

I am so thankful to the Lord for the family that continues to grow here at KKIM and DDC.

We have family all over this great land. The inter net has made that possible..........I have folks who listen to KKIM all over the world now because of our streaming audio. PRAISE GOD!! www.mykkim.com

Make sure and check out the KKIM web site as we have many events coming up that you will not want to miss.

I had such a nice talk on the phone last night with my sister Deb of Reading, Minnesota. Reading is located in the southwest corner of Minnesota. They are busy doing life and have had it looks like the harvest of corn and soybeans will be good this year. Deb messed up her knee playing softball this summer and may need knee replacement. She is just 47! Please keep her in your prayers. We both love to play softball! She is a wonderful sister who is my link to my parents. I miss her and do not talk to her enough. We talked about how time flies and how the kids are all getting out on their own in the world.

Jannetta La Mort our web master was in for a visit yesterday with her two children who are visiting. What a wonderful visit we had. Jannetta is a wonderful Mother and her two kids are sweeties!

I am so thankful for people like Jannetta who help this Ministry so much! Without the help of my wife Sharon I would not be able to keep up with the works of this Ministry. Sharon has been taking on more here at the DDC to keep us going. I PRAISE GOD for the growth of KKIM and DDC.......we just want to serve HIM and HIS will.

I went to visit Michael Ramos yesterday who we have been praying for. Michael is under a lot of pain with his bad knee and hip. Please keep him in your prayers.

I met a wonderful listener of KKIM yesterday, Rodney Wheeler owner of MasterWorks in Albuquerque. Rodney is going to be a Ministry sponsor. We had a nice visit at KKIM.

Got another email from a KKIM listener in Edgewood, NM.........George wants to stop by for a visit..........just send me an email or call me and I would love to visit with you!

Got a call from a KKIM listener in Chama, NM yesterday! The FM really reaches out to the Land of Enchantment! (YESTERDAY WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOO BUSY, I DON'T KNOW IF I HAVE CAUGHT UP WITH MYSELF YET!!!)

I had sent out an email that we will be doing more prayer and news updates at the web site www.deweysdailycup.com and less emails. We for right now will be sending out the cup by email by popular demand, but please put the web site on your favorites because we want to get away from email. Now here is a suggestion that Jannetta is working on..............

Hi Dewey.

Another alternative en lieu of sending e-mails is to set up a RRS feed, which delivers a link automatically to all on a subscriber list that will give them a reminder that there is new content on your web page. Then, be sure to add instructions on the site for visitors encouraging them to subscribe to your RSS feed.

Just a suggestion! Thanks!

Dr, Larry Bates called me and he will be bringing his seminar to Albuquerque once again this year! KKIM is so thankful to have Dr. Bates coming on Oct. 4th. Stay tuned for registration information!

We are planning a couple of KKIM events before the year is out.........please keep this planning in your prayers....HIS will not ours!

I so much enjoyed reading this past few days........a time to read, pray, and sing praises to our LORD!

If you know me at all, you know I love to read......8 books at once.........love it!

As we get closer to November this scripture I read seems timely, as all scripture is.........

"Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

Psalm 100

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

Serve the Lord with gladness;

Come before His presence with singing.

Know that the Lord, He is God:

It is He who has made us, and not ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving.

And into His courts with praise.

be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

For the Lord is good;

His mercy is everlasting,

and His truth endures to all generations.

Think and pray about this.............

Last night in the wee hours a thought came to me, to trust God beyond my own understanding of God.........The very next day and the day after I shared the thought with the young people I was teaching,
and then I shared it with two friends my own age, and one said to trust God beyond our own understanding is what is required of us in dying, for our own understanding cannot penetrate the veil of death.

John S. Dunne, A Journey with God in Time: A Spiritual Quest

I am seeking the same........to trust God beyond my own understanding. As it says in Psalms 100.....It is HE who made us.........too much of the time I rely on my own thinking and feelings.

I have to tell you that I feel so blessed by the Lord to be where I am at to bring all sorts of folks together world wide you may never meet but enjoy praying together and enjoying a cup together in the LORD. PRAISE GOD!

Dear Dewey,

Thank you so much for sending this little prayer today from St. Teresa of Avila's prayerbook. It was indeed perfect timing. I have had such a difficult week with my pastor of St. Basil's Church in Kimberton, PA. I have been trying to talk to him about having Adult Faith Formation in our parish and also about having the doors of the church open during the day so that people can stop in to pray. I also sponsor a seminarian in Kerala, India and have witnessed first hand the wonderful Vincentian ministries for the poor. I thought it would be wonderful if one of the Vincentian priests could come and talk to our congregation about their work in India. They are wonderful charismatic preachers who find so much joy in their vocation. It would be good for the people to witness and be touched by their ministry. My pastor refuses to speak to me about any of this. So far, I have only been trying to set up an appointment through e-mail, but just the other day I called the rectory and left a message. I received the most nastiest e-mail from him this past Monday. It has really hurt me deeply. It is not so much because of the cutting words that were said to me, but the reality that our pastor does not care about bringing our church to a more vibrant faith life. I've contacted his superiors, and although somewhat compassionate, they say they really can't do anything. I feel that this is the reason why we have so few good men entering the seminary to be priests. Our priests are not held accountable for what they do and many of them are not what most good Catholics would want their sons to emulate.

Thanks again for the wonderful words of wisdom. I will pray for you and Sharon that God may heal you quickly.

I live in a town called Kimberton, PA. It is only 10 minutes away from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania where George Washington and his troops camped in the winter of 1777-1778 when the British occupied Philadelphia. It is now one of our National Parks.

Please pray for me. It is truly the most powerful gift you can give to someone.

Thanks,
Linda

Friends,

Labor Day--a rest from our Labors! I hope you can take some time to slow down with your families, like my family will be doing this weekend.

Maybe you will have time to check to see if your voter registration is current. Here's an easy link--check it out with your whole family & use the time to teach younger members about the big responsibility of voting!

Hi Dewey!

Hope you and Sharon and all the family are better and that you had a good
holiday.

Today Frank Haley(KKIM NEWS) read an article about God's edible vegetation, sizes,
shapes and similarity of the human organs (shape) affected by those
nutrients. It was excellent. Would it be possible to obtain a copy of
that? With this e-mail you have my e-mail address by which it could be
sent to me. Alternatively, if there is an internet address where I can
download, that would suffice too.

How are you getting along with Gilbert's Bible foundations study
notebook?

I have found 2 helpful web sites. I need the Greek alphabet (a
magnifying glass) and help to identify the parts of speech. 1st:
englishclub.com 2nd=englishman's greek by Dr. James Boyer @
Http://www.middletownbiblechurch.org/egreek/egreek.htm

Hope they will prove helpful to anyone attempting to study while
bypassing the language study usually required.

Thanks for all you do.
Joan

Thanks for the note Joan.........Gilbert's Foundation book has helped me so much!...........Here is Frank's answer to Joan's question.........

Joan, I think this is what you ask Dewey about... Here's the script.

I am so sorry for the return of heart worm for Reno... :-( am praying... it is so hard to see them struggle and we suffer and struggle right along with the pets we love... as well as the people, of course...
God Bless and be your strength as He gives you wisdom... Reno is His creation; who better to go to for ultimate help than the Creator. He may use the hands and hearts of others to give you opportunity to show them Jesus... :-)

Here is our FUNNY BONE from Sharon........

Ol' Fred had been a faithful Christian and was in the hospital, near
death. The family called their pastor to stand with them. As the
pastor stood next to the bed, Ol' Fred's condition appeared to
deteriorate and he motioned frantically for something to write on.
The pastor lovingly handed him a pen and a piece of paper, and Ol'
Fred used his last bit of energy to scribble a note, then he died.
The pastor thought it best not to look at the note at thattime, so
he placed it in his jacket pocket.

At the funeral, as he was finishing the message, he realized that he
was wearing the same jacket that he was wearing when Ol' Fred died.
He said, "You know, Ol' Fred handed me a note just before he died. I
haven't looked at it, but knowing Fred, I'm sure there's a word of
inspiration there for us all."
He opened the note, and read, "idiot, you're standing on my oxygen tube!"

From Nic............

What's the #1 sin and downfall of man? Maybe that's what makes saying I'm sorry so difficult...being prideful. Be careful because this type of sin will lead to the destuction of relationships.

The Art of Saying, 'I am Sorry', by Steve Higginbotham

Apologizing doesn't come easy for some of us. We sometimes choke on the
words, "I'm sorry." Well, in fact, sometimes we speak the words, but we
do so with such animosity, the message is lost.

I can illustrate. Being a parent of four children, I have had to
"moderate" a good number of apologies. On many occasions, I have told
one of my children, "Now you tell your brother/sister you're sorry."
What then comes out of their mouth sounds more like a child who is
demon possessed than a sincere apology. Teeth clenched ... jaw set ...
and the words, "I'm sorry" are spoken in a forceful and almost growling
tone. (If you have children, you know exactly what I'm talking about).

But now, that's just kid's stuff, right? Adults don't behave like that,
now do we? Well, maybe we're not so obvious, but we still have ways of
speaking those words with less than sincerity. For example, how many
times have you heard people say things like ...

* If I have done anything to offend you, I'm sorry.

Isn't it time we quit pretending ...

* I'm sorry, but if you wouldn't have ...

* If you'll apologize to me, I'll apologize to you.

Isn't it time we quit pretending to be sorry? Let us discipline
ourselves to be humble enough to graciously and freely say we are sorry
when we have offended others. When confronted with his sin, King David
didn't make any excuses, but simply admitted his wrong by saying, "I
have sinned against the Lord" (2 Samuel 12:13).

Next time you need to say you're sorry. Humble yourself and do so, and
say it like you mean it.

This is from Linda...........

Many things in this world are not always what they appear to be, yet, as long as we act out of love for God, we continue to further His Kingdom and to know and love Him even more.

1 John 3 16-18 "The way we came to know love was that he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If someone who has worldly means sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in him? Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth."

1 John 4 1-6 "Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world. You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them. We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit."

If we say we love Jesus, how can we not love the Church which is the Body of Christ.

Here is a good story from Valli.....................

A married lady was expecting a birthday gift from her husband.
For many months she had admired a beautiful diamond ring in a
Showroom, and knowing her husband could afford it, she told him That was all she wanted.

As her birthday approached, this lady awaited signs that her
Husband had purchased the diamond ring. Finally, on the morning of
Her birthday, her husband called her into his study room.

Her husband told her how proud he was to have such a good wife, and
Told her how much he loved her. He handed her a beautiful wrapped
Gift box. Curious, the wife opened the box and found a lovely,
Leather-bound Bible, with the wife's name embossed in gold.
Angrily, she raised her voice to her husband and said, 'With all
Your money you give me a Bible? And stormed out of the house,
leaving her husband.

Many years passed and the married lady was very successful in
Business. She managed to settle for a more beautiful house and a
Wonderful family, but realized her ex-husband was very old, and
Thought perhaps she should go to visit him. She had not seen him
For many years.
But before she could make arrangements, she received a telegram
Telling her that her ex-husband had passed away, and willed all of
His possessions to her. She needed to come back immediately and
Take care of things.

When she arrived at her ex-husband's house, sudden sadness and
Regret filled her heart. She began to search through her
Ex-husband's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as
She had left it years ago.

With tears, she opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. Her Ex-husband had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11, 'And if
You, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how
Much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to
Those who ask Him?'

As she read those words, a tiny package dropped from the back of
The Bible. It had a diamond ring with her name engraved on it, the
Same diamond ring which she saw at the showroom. On the tag was the
Date of her birth, and the words..'LUV U ALWAYS'...

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
Packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to
Others.

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but
Remember that what you now have was once among the things you only
Hoped for.
IF YOUR GIFT IS NOT PACKAGED THE WAY YOU WANT IT, IT'S BECAUSE IT IS BETTER PACKAGED THE WAY IT IS! ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU TO BIGGER THINGS!

Watch your Thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your Habits, they become character.
Watch your Character, for it becomes your Destiny

God Bless you always.........Dewey Sharon and Family
