URGENT PRAYER NEED INDIA

Dear KKIM Family,

Pastor Leonard Navarre is in India and he just sent us this urgent email from his Brothers in India.......

Dear Leonard,

Greetings to you from Central India Christian Mission.

This is a prayer request to pray for our Preacher Bro. Ashawan and 35 seekers from Hathpura village of the Shahdol area in central India.

Two days ago on January 23, the church in Shahdol was having a gathering and Bible study / prayer meeting. Our son-in-law Josh went to take part in that. However, we received a phone call from our preacher informing us that the police and members of an extremist group called Bajrangdal had come to the church and accused us of forceful conversion. He also suggested it would be best for Josh not to come. Josh was about to reach the church and already had reached the town. We were able to stop him in order to avoid the complications for the church family and himself. Later the police took the 35 seekers from the village and forced them to sign a document saying that they were under a forceful situation to accept Christ. They also took our preacher Bro. Ashawan to the police station and he stayed there almost 18 hours.

Bro. Ashawan has not been arrested, but he is under search. We are doing our best to find a solution. I am keeping in touch with Bro. Ashawan and the church leaders on a regular basis. A couple of my friends in the government are trying to help us resolve this issue. Please do pray for the solution.

We will be grateful to you for your prayers at this time for the Shahdol and Hathpura churches, and for Bro. Ashawan, the seekers and new believers. I will keep you informed about the situation. Thank you so much for your love, prayers, concern and partnership with our lives and Central India Christian Mission.

Your Coworkers in India,

Ajai and Indu Lall
