Haiti/Malaysia/India CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

We have this prayer letter from John Robb of Albuquerque who is with the International Prayer Council and at the present time is in Malaysia and also a report from Pastor Leonard Navarre of Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood, NM and host of Your Bible Boost on KKIM who is in India........we have the world covered here at the CUP/KKIM! PRAISE GOD!!!

Dear Friends,
Trust you are already in prayer about the awful earthquake and its destructive impact in Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere. BBC News is reporting that at least 50,000 were killed and a couple hundred thousand injured during the quake. The toll may be much higher than that, and some are saying it could be worse than the 2004 tsunami that hit Indonesia and other areas.

Much of the local infrastructure is gone with the collapse of many government buildings. People are desperately looking for food and water, with chaos and anarchy taking over parts of the country as fighting over the few remaining resources takes place. Please pray for a rapid and well-organized relief response and for the government officials, local churches, UN and private humanitarian agencies as well as the US military who all are trying to provide assistance. Pray for the Lord’s comfort and presence, bringing peace, order and hope to these suffering and agony-struck men, women and children.

Malaysia, where I am traveling at the moment, has been hit with a rash of church fire bombings and attacks by religious extremists over the last couple of weeks. These extremists are unhappy that the court has decided in favor of the Christians using the word “Allah” for God, affirming what has been the custom for many centuries elsewhere in the world. Some here feel that such attacks are actually working in the favor of Christ’s people and cause in this majority Muslim nation since the government is now providing relief to the churches that have been attacked and is generally showing more support for religious freedom. Please pray that this will indeed turn out to be true and that the believers here will come together in greater unity and prayer for their nation and for the majority who still need to know His good news.

Finally, may I ask you to pray for the arrangement of the Intergenerational Prayer Summit scheduled to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, May 18-23, in connection with the Global Day of Prayer conference at the same time. Our intention in the International Prayer Council is that children, youth and adults co-plan and co-lead this event as equal partners. From Scripture, we know that God’s heart is not just for the nations but also for the generations. He is clearly wanting all generations, past, present and future to connect their hearts together with Him and one another in an unbroken, ongoing way for the blessing of our world. The prayer movement is pivotal to this happening. Our hope and prayer is that this Cape Town event and also the World Prayer Assembly being considered for 2012 will be used of the Lord to facilitate this heart connection and extend the prayer movement through the children and youth of today into future generations.
The particular theme of this IPC summit will be "Investing in Future Generations: Affirming What God is doing among Children and Youth in the Prayer Movement". It will also serve as the third Children in Prayer global consultation for those who have been involved with that network and those who would like to learn more about CiP. Please pray for those who should participate in May that they will be able to register and have the financial means and time availability to come and play their part in this summit.

If you are interested to participate personally in the summit or want to recommend others involved in prayer ministry or who work with youth and children , please contact our IPC office for more information at office@ipcprayer.org.

Warmest greetings from Malaysia,
John Robb
International Prayer Council

We also have a report from Pastor Leonard Navarre who is in New Delhi, India that 29 people give their lives to Christ in his first worship service! PRAISE GOD! We will continue to bring you updates as we get them from Pastor Leonard........Keep him in your prayers along with John Robb....and the Countries of Haiti, Malaysia, and India.

I leave you this day with this though from Oswald Chambers......I just have to mention that we have been talking about Ethics reform........and how it has to come from the heart and giving ones life to Jesus Christ.....Ethics reform is on the docket in Santa Fe as the Legislative session gets underway Tuesday........But read this from Chambers.......

If I do not put to death the things in me which are not of God, they will put to death the things that are of God.

In Jesus name AMEN!

In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
