Mail bag Full at CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Go to the Spirit, the great teacher, ask His sacred influence, and it will come to pass that He "will guide you into all truth." Charles Spurgeon

"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8

Prayer is the key that opens the cabinets of mystery. Prayer and faith are sacred picklocks that can open secrets and obtain great treasures. Charles Spurgeon

Radio-A-Thon for African Orphans

Have you thought lately about what $68 dollars can buy? Can you imagine being able to raise a child for one year with $68 dollars? Sound too good to be true? Cross International is giving you an opportunity to rescue a child off of the streets of Mozambique, and place them into a Christian home, for just a one time gift of $68. Your gift will provide all the food, clothing, medical care, & school supplies that these kids need for an entire year. Your $68 one time gift, not an ongoing monthly commitment, will accomplish so much! There are more than 1,000 kids waiting right now…the families are ready to take them in…we just need you! Call the rescue line right now, at 1-888-515-2005, to rescue an orphan. Please join us on Tuesday, October 13th, and again on Wednesday, October 14th, to find out more, or call right now to rescue a child.

Here is more on our Hero, SGT. Titus........

Dewey,

Wanted to get ok from our precious friends to post info on Sergeant Titus R. Reynolds, U.S. Army.

Sergeant Titus R. Reynolds, 23 years of age, and 4 brave warriors, were killed in Afghanistan on 24 September 2009 when their Stryker (eight-wheeled all-wheel-drive armored combat vehicle) hit an IED (Improvised Explosive Device).

Please thank G-d for His deep Shalom, His peace, for Titus’ wife, Nikki, his parents, Rod and Elizabeth Reynolds and his extended family. May they feel His strong Presence, love, and comfort, today and in days to come. Titus and Nikki would be married 1 year on Monday 12 October. Titus is a Believer and most surely with Jesus!

Thank G-d for our brave warriors, men and women, who serve to secure our homeland and freedoms. Also, for their families who also serve. Pray for their protection and for their families. Be sure to shake their hand and thank them when you see them.

An Army carry team carries the transfer case containing the remains of Army Sgt. Titus R. Reynolds of Columbus, Ohio, during a dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, Del. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. The Department of Defense said he died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Omar Zai, Afghanistan. AP

Thanks so much, Dewey and KKIM!

Love ya,

Eric and Chris

From Cherie.......

Dewey, the opening line this morning by Charles Spurgeon touched my
heart. My mother, Emily Jeanne (uses Jeanne) who has advanced
dementia/Alzheimers fell and broke both bones in her lower right leg
Sunday night. She is 96 and had surgery which was successful as far as
the surgery goes. However, she has been placed in hospice care (which
is a blessing). I am so grateful for a hospice situation for her to
help her through this transistion comfortably and help release her from
the agitation, fright and terror that she has been experiencing lately
because of the dementia/Alzheimers. She has always loved Jesus and
until recently would always hum or whistle for hours. I thought it
amazing how when she could remember little else, her soul sung out.
She loves hymns. Seemed like she was hearing a choir from above the
other morning as she lay in the hospital. It is so comforting to be
reminded that "The Lord Jesus Christ knows every key in our souls, and
He can wake up our whole being to harmonies of music that will set the
world ringing with His praises" (Charles Spurgeon, from the Daily cup
10/8) I know that she will be singing in Jesus' choir! Please pray
for her comfort.-- Thank you faithful prayer warriors for all you have
done for my family! Love, Cherie

Victor has words of wisdom for us..........

Dewey,

I was reading on your Daily Cup about the revival being planned and prayed for and wanted to recommend to you a book shared with me recently about revivals. It is called "Revival Fire", by Wesley Duewel. I am not sure if it's available for sale locally but you can get it from Amazon.com by clicking on the following link:

http://www.amazon.com/Revival-Fire-Wesley-L-Duewel/dp/0310496616

As I read the revival accounts in the book I thought they seemed almost fictional...maybe unbelievable is a better word for it...in contrast to what we are seeing today in our country, churches and individual lives. I wondered if we could ever see things like that happen today. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" [Hebrews 13:8] and knew it was still possible.

Here's a short account of the book from the back cover:

"Beginning with Elijah and God's tremendous one-day revival of Israel, Wesley Duewel tells stories of revivals spanning the globe from America to China to Africa, all brought by obedience and heartfelt prayer. He illustrates how God has used revival fire through the centuries to revive the church and reveal the glorious presence of the Holy Spirit".

I look forward to the coming revival in our area and also to being a part of it. God bless you!

All is well with me!

I went to Washington D.C. for the Value Voters Summit, it was
AWESOME!! Fortunately I have two sets of friends in the area and I
stayed with them. Then another friend picked me up and I went down
to Virginia Beach. Spoke at a church there where a good buddy is the
worship leader and the wife is with Regent University.

Soooo I am back in ABQ for a few weeks.

Blessings cover you and the "gang" there!! :-) :-) :-)

Great news from the Evans family........
Hi Dewey,

We have some exciting news that we wanted to share with you. We recently were notified that our son, Matthew, has qualified for the finals of the National Bible Bee in Washington, D.C. in early November. I've attached the press release that gives more details about it. He is the only contestant from New Mexico to qualify for the national contest.

As you know, Matthew loves to compete, and after aging out of the National Spelling Bee, he was thrilled to find this competition and be able to enter it in the inaugural year. With this competition, contestants are asked to answer Bible knowledge questions and recite Bible passages from memory. Matthew downloaded the study materials in early May and spent the entire summer (six to seven hours a day) preparing for the regional contest on September 12. Matthew placed first at regional's for his age group (senior division), but he anxiously waited to hear if his score (401 out of a possible 475) was high enough to qualify for the national contest. Matthew was so excited when he learned that he had one of the top 100 scores in the nation and would now have the opportunity to compete in Washington, D.C. November 4-6.

The Lord has certainly guided Matthew as he prepares for this contest. The study book is rather intimidating with 200 Bible knowledge questions and 350 Bible memory passages containing over 2,000 verses! Randy & I have told Matthew all along that no matter what happens at the regional or national contests, he is already a winner because he has spent the time hiding God's Word in his heart and that will benefit him his entire life. I can see how the Lord has been preparing Matthew for this competition before we had even heard about it. He learned so much about perseverance and working hard as he studied the dictionary and prepared for the National Spelling Bee for those five years. Even though he never won the National Spelling Bee, the study habits he learned have helped him tremendously in preparing for what he considers to be an even tougher competition.

We would certainly appreciate your and your listeners' prayers, Dewey, as Matthew continues to study during the next four weeks for the competition in Washington next month. Also, as you can see in the press release, each of the finalists have to raise their own funds to pay for the trip to D.C. The Bible Bee headquarters has told us that the expenses will be approximately $3,500. We would be so grateful for any individual or business who might desire to help us in any way with these expenses. Anyone interested can contact us at 505-897-9152. Thanks so much!

If you would like more information about the Bible Bee, please feel free to call us. You can also visit www.biblebee.org/nationals2009.

Blessings,

Randy & Helen Evans
