KKIM NEWS ALERT

I feel that we are watching a train wreck about to happen.........

New Mexico Justice at it's best or worst?

By the time you read this Judge Michael Vigil could have dismissed the case against Carlos Fierro on vehicular homicide charges. Fierro is a high powered attorney in the state of New Mexico.

Is the "Political machine" in New Mexico at work here?

Fierro's Lawyers acknowledge that he was drunk and ran over the victim, who died, but say he didn't know what he hit and that the accident was unavoidable because the victim was jaywalking.

Fierro's lawyers have called for a dismissal of the charges because of what they are calling misconduct and vindictiveness by the Santa Fe District Attorney's Office.

They maintain that the Dist. Attorney's Office divulged confidential, classified, law enforcement sensitive information to a consultant the DA hired to help with the jury selection process.

Santa Fe Dist. Attorney Angela Pacheco says she used the NCIC system because of concerns of TAMPERING in the case.

Based on information that a prosecution witness was recently approached by someone to change his testimony. That witness is Sol Bently.

Pacheco said that Bently reported that about two weeks ago two Hispanic men approached him at Buffalo Thunder Resort where he DJ's, and asked him, "What would it take for you to change your testimony?"

Fierro has friends in high places........Will Justice prevail here? Is the Judge being pressured? Witnesses being pressured?

Riding in the car with Fierro that night when he struck and killed the man, was State Trooper Alfred Lovato (he has since resigned) and member of Gov. Richardson's security detail at the time of the hit-and-run. he also faces charges in the case.

We will have more on this at 4:30 NM News and Views
