Good Morning KKIM Family! How are you today?
Frank Haley’s Hip replacement surgery went very well. Please keep him in your prayers. My thanks to Mistie Miles who is filling in wonderfully for Frank!
From my Sharon………
Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings…
Psalms 55:22 ‘Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.’
I met Elfie of Albuquerque yesterday……we started praying for her about a year ago as she was found to have cancer and was given 6 months to live. Elfie is in her 80’s and looks great! PRAISE GOD!
Erika came into the station yesterday to tell us her sister is cancer free! We started praying for her about a year ago also!!! PRAISE GOD!!!
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24
I wish you could have seen the look on the faces of Elfie and Erika. There are so thankful for your prayers. Jannetta has all prayers now posted on the web site at all times under prayer requests. Please keep praying for all the folks in need. We are a praying ministry…we are here to serve God’s people……..
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
Thank you for praying with us.
Chuck Swindoll has done a great job in his books about Jesus, Paul, Job, David and others…….He has got to be one of the greatest writers in the Christian world ever! I would encourage you with all my heart to read Chuck’s books…….I have enjoyed them so much………reading in my Bible and then reading his books have been such a boost for my daily walk with Jesus Christ!
Anyhow I am reading about 6 books right now, as my boss Tim Gannon says, I have about 10 open cans of paint all the time………and I am hoping one does not dry out! I am going from one can to the next! You should see my desk!!!!! I think I have 20 cans open right now!
Chuck Swindoll writes this…………..
One of many things we can take from the life of David is……….
Whenever you realize that there’s nothing you can do, wait. Wait patiently. Impossible impasses call for a firm application of brakes. Don’t keep going.
Restrain yourself from anything hasty. Whenever possible put on the brakes! SLOW DOWN!!! I’ve seldom made wise decisions in a hurry. Furthermore, I’ve seldom felt sorry for things I DIDN”T SAY!
David obviously learned this lesson well, for he writes in Psalm 40,
I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay;
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
Psalm 40: 1-2
Psalm 40 never says that David’s situation changed. It says David changes. When you wait, your situation may not change, but you will. In fact, you may discover that the reason for waiting was all for your benefit, because you’re the one who needed to change.
My goodness………..I certainly can attest to that!!!! AMEN!!!!
This last week before the election has so many people doing and saying bad things. So many are on edge. Yesterday we played a sound bite from Billy Graham speaking at his 1949 revival in Los Angeles and he said, “Man cannot look to man for answers the answers are in a relationship with Jesus Christ.” AMEN! We need to find our peace in our relationship with Jesus. People that are expecting to find peace and answers to their problems in the out come of this election are going to be disappointed.
For the next two Sundays I am going to be speaking at Heights Christian Church in Albuquerque. This Sunday at 5. I will be preaching on Prayer. Then on the 9th of Nov. I will be speaking at the Church’s Seniors Banquet. Then on Nov. 16th Lord willing I will be in Milan, NM at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Sharon and I are looking forward to that as we love Pastor Garland Moore! I PRAISE GOD for the opportunity to get out and share the LOVE of GOD! I also have to tell you that at Heights and Immanuel the WORD of GOD is on FIRE! Please keep these efforts in your prayers…please pray for God’s will. I hope you can come and see me! The neat thing about these two Church’s is that everyone is invited! Don’t worry about not being a member of these Church’s! You are of God and are WELCOMED!!! If you ever want me to come and speak at your Church or to your group just let me know!!!! I would love to share!!!
From the Nov. issue of Christianity Today…………..once again I would recommend getting this magazine.
The world produces more food than ever. So why do nearly A BILLION PEOPLE still not Have enough
to eat?
25,000 people die each day of hunger-related illnesses. Most of these preventable deaths occur in regions with no oil, insufficient food, and unending conflict.
“When hunger becomes anger, people will fight.” Kenyan Church leader Tokunboh Adeyemo
“This thing is becoming so big that we need to bring God into this and we’re not. We are attacking it piecemeal. We need to ask God’s wisdom and HIS help. We need a major fast and prayer across this nation. That’s job one.” Tony Hall
Please pray KKIM Family.
One thing here at KKIM and the Cup that was taught to me years ago…….we will not report anything just by rumor. We are not perfect but we go by the old journalism guidelines……..check and recheck your sources. Today with the Internet, bloging, pod casting……….almost anything is reported as fact and it can turn crazy with some of the stuff being reported today. Back at Brown, some 30 years ago, I was taught to be very careful on what you report, to make sure it is accurate. Still we are not perfect, but we try and we also pray before writing and reporting.
I invite you to listen daily to KKIM’s New Mexico News and Views, where we work hard everyday to bring you the truth.
Let’s check out the mailbag and hear from our dear friends……….
Dewey, I just wanted to say that Sharon’s friend Linda must have been a
wonderful encouragement to those she touched. I know Sharon will miss
her but will rejoice when they are reunited someday. Also Sharon is
on my heart and I wanted to thank her for the healing work she must do
as a nurse. It is not easy to be near so much pain and suffering all
of the time. And yet, as we have learned from our daughter Amy, joy
can be in the midst of pain when you love the Lord. Sharon, I hope
you see much joy in your patients, and when they can’t feel it
themselves, I hope you carry it with you and don’t get too burdened
yourself! Thank you for being a nurse! Cherie Snow
Dear Dewey,
Thank you for your faithful focus on Him who is our hope.
I appreciate reading your cup and pray that God will continue to give you strength and insight into His Word and plans.
Because He alone is Worthy,
Clyde Moore
Thanks for the cup this morning. The only thing that keeps me from sitting an crying about our country these days is the knowledge that God is in control.
I’m sad that many in the country are falling away from God. Just the other day a neighbor expressed her desire to go to church with me because she’d seen me walking to the neighborhood church on Sunday morns…she claimed her Sunday school was a walk with God. I’m thankful for the growing desire in her heart, but she also shared that one of her teen sons told her he was an atheist and how broken her heart is because she fells like she has failed. This story is probably all too uncommon in our country.
I was stoked to hear about the countries that visit KKIM’s web site. One of the most exciting things for me is to watch the different countries that visit the web site I write for. It’s truly international. I was especially humbled when I had a hit from China. I thought many western and all Christian influences on the web were blocked, but anyway, they are getting through. People are hungry and many of them don’t even know it’s God they hunger for….whether it’s my neighbors or people in other countries, I’m glad KKIM is there.
I know your busy, so thanks for taking time share a “cup.” Thanks goodness we have a great God to rely on in soooo many areas…and people like you who are wonderful instruments in God’s band…see Romans 6:12-14. Shona Neff By the way Shona is going to be doing a radio program on KKIM in the very near future Lord willing. I want to thank Pastor Larry Moss and Don Kimbro for helping us and working with Shona. Karen Rowe is also going to be starting a radio program and Larry and Don are working with her also.
By the way check out Shona’s writings at www.takerootandwrite.com
Lord willing, over the next couple of months we will be adding some new local programs to the KKIM line up. Stay tuned!
Love to you all, Dewey Sharon and family
