INDIA MISSION TRIP UPDATE
December 29, 2009
Greetings dear friends,
Just a brief update on the India Mission trip coming up on January 15, 2009. Passport is ready, Visa is in hand and the money is coming in for the trip. Praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. My deepest appreciation to all who have sent funds for the mission trip. Your generosity is such an encouragement to me and to the team traveling to India. An added blessing is that my home church, Valley View Christian Church, Edgewood, New Mexico, designated the Mission Trip for their Christmas Love Offering. I will tell you that the amount given is overwhelming. I will give you a final update as the departure time approaches. If you would like to contribute to the trip please make the check out to Valley View Christian Church with INDIA in the memo line on the check. Mail to me: Leonard Navarre, P.O. Box 990, Edgewood, New Mexico 87015. This way your financial contribution will be tax deductible.
MORE IMPORTANT than the financial gifts is YOUR PRAYERS FOR THE MISSION TRIP. Please begin to pray now for our Leadership Conference, our preaching points, our encouragement to the Central India Christian Mission and of course, our safety and protection. YOUR PRAYERS ARE VITAL TO THE OUTREACH OF THIS MISSION TRIP.
I will take plenty of pictures and of course give you a full accounting as to where the funds were spent. Because of you we will be able to furnish rice, blankets, books for the evangelists, help the children’s home and help buy back children from slavery.
Below I have attached the annual report for Central India Christian Mission. It is truly AMAZING what this mission has done and is doing. Thank you so much for all you do for the Lord and His kingdom on this planet. My prayers are with each and every one of you.
CICM e-News
December 9, 2009
On behalf of the Central India Christian Mission family we wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
At this special time of the year we want to thank you from the depths of our hearts for your partnership with Central India Christian Mission. Our whole team stays busy reaching people with the love and message of the Lord Jesus Christ. The sole purpose of our ministry is very simple. It is to be witnesses of the love and saving message of Jesus. Our goal is not just to provide people with food, clothing, shelter, relief or money. We are not about entertainment, social reforms or development, but our goal and chief concern is to share the Good News of our Lord as far and wide as we can spread it. Certainly God uses different ways to reach people. Sometimes we meet physical needs or attract a crowd, but our target is to reach people’s hearts for our Lord, so their eternal destiny is changed from being lost to having eternal life through the Savior.
We are grateful for God’s provision through our partners that enables us to continue to reach the unreached millions. Your gifts provide the opportunities to touch countless numbers of people every day. Because of your generosity we are able to preach about Jesus Christ through the various ministries of CICM. Thank you for your role in fulfilling God’s plan through the Great Commission of our Lord.
Instead of reporting about our various departments, I want to share some facts and figures with you about what God has done this year through CICM.
Our evangelists have planted 56 new churches in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Over 21,780 people made their decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
Over 260,000 new people have been reached with the gospel through CICM’s 300 plus full time evangelists.
Our Children’s Ministry helped over 3,000 children with food, clothing, blankets, educational expenses and minor medical expenses
In the state of Orissa we helped 3,800 persecuted Christians with food, clothing, shelter and children’s educational expenses.
Our Prison Ministry reached 112,000 prisoners in 28 prisons with the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. Follow-up teams are working with the new seekers.
Central India Biblical Academy provided short-term training to 387 Christian leaders through various seminars and conferences and 48 full-time students are receiving their training to be in the full-time preaching ministry.
We started our new Training Center in Darjeeling at India’s northeastern border. This area is a gateway to Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, China and Bangladesh. We have 13 students at the center.
We distributed over 150,000 pieces of Christian literature including gospel tracts, New Testaments, Bibles and other training material.
The translation of the New Testament in the Bundeli language is complete and has been double-checked by the experts. It is ready to be published for the first time in history to reach the unreached 20 million Bundeli people of central and northern India.
Our medical evangelistic team treated over 52,800 patients. Our team delivered 210 babies, performed 850 major surgeries and organized 38 medical camps to reach the unreached through the ministry of the Mission Hospital and the Kansa Clinic.
Our leaders held 18 seekers seminars that reached over 6,000 people.
The College of Nursing graduated 24 students who completed their four-year nursing degree which is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and accredited by the State University.
We drilled 28 wells and dug four wells in areas where there was little drinking water available. This outreach became very effective in reaching people with the message of Living Water.
75 children now live at Bal Bhavan (children’s home) and are continuously receiving shelter, food and educational and spiritual guidance. We added a new dimension this year as 16 unwed mothers received shelter and care for a few months before giving birth to their babies and leaving them at our children’s home.
The annual youth conference reached over 2,600 young people and resulted in 1,756 decisions for full-time Christian service and 1,120 first-time decisions to follow Jesus Christ.
In spite of persecution, adversity and continuous attacks from Satan, Central India Christian Mission continues to grow with over 500 full-time coworkers and 700 plus churches where more than 210,000 believers regularly worship and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we reach the unreached areas, we are extremely grateful to God for continuously providing resources to this growing movement. We are thankful to every individual, family, church and partner institution for your prayerful support, in spite of the difficult financial situation around the world.
We request and pray that you will continue to give and pray for this ministry. We have many needs ahead of us: complete construction of unfinished apartments, provide dormitories and classrooms, distribute Bibles, print the Bundeli New Testament, support at least 20 new preachers, construct church buildings, provide bicycles, motorcycles and jeeps for our preachers, build a new hospital facility, add a boy’s dormitory at the children’s home, expand the program at Central India Biblical Academy, drill and dig wells, and much more. All this is to extend His kingdom on earth and give Him the glory! To request information about any of these needs, please contact L.V. or Susan Spencer at 713.935.0826 or lvspencer@indiamission.org.
Our entire CICM family wants to express our appreciation to Bro. Ray Murphy who will be retiring at the end of this month. He has faithfully served as CICM’s Director of Development since 1999. Prior to that, he served 12 years on our U.S. Board of Directors. The contribution he has made to CICM is tremendous as he shared the CICM story with many people throughout the U.S. We are also grateful to Ray’s wife, Nelda, who has been a strong supporter and encourager to Ray in his efforts to communicate with CICM’s friends and partners. Ray’s contribution to the growth and outreach of CICM has been significant and only eternity will tell the lives that have been impacted through the results of his ministry with CICM. Thank you, Ray and Nelda, for your tireless service to the Lord’s Kingdom in India!
As we celebrate Christmas, if you would like to give a special gift to our Savior Jesus Christ through CICM to bless the lives of those who are still in darkness, we will be extremely grateful to you. Thank you for your continuous love, prayers, financial support and concern for our lives and the ministry of CICM.
With Grateful Hearts,
Ajai and Indu Lall,
Josh and Lashi Howard and the CICM Team
