“Don’t be afraid…those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 2 Kings 6:16
Love isn’t letting people do whatever they want. That’s often cowardice or apathy. Love cares enough to tell the truth. Rick Warren
Talking with Pastor Leonard the other day… we were talking about the POWER of GOD……ya know the sun doesn’t need batteries, the moon doesn’t need batteries, the stars doesn’t need batteries…….Why do we think at times that God won’t take care of us?
Last night on NM News and Views we talked with Susana Martinez GOP Candidate for Gov. We were very impressed. She is the District Attorney for Dona Ana County. Very articulate and analytical. She can really pick things apart and put them together in a good problem solving way. The Republican Party is blessed, with probably it’s best candidates ever for Gov. of this State. Now if the Republicans can stop their infighting and get their act together they could drive thru the open door of the Gov’s office with all the corruption/deficit in the Richardson and Denish Administration. We need more people like Susana Martinez in our Government.
I love people..that is what drives me……I got to talk to Sonny last night, the Husband of State Rep.Nora Espinoza. What a Man of God, he is so genuine in his love for the Lord and His people. Sonny was sharing with me the love of God and family. It was so refreshing to see a husband and wife together in our Lord. I pray to see more of that..husband and wives together…families together……..Nora and Sonny are so strong in our Lord. They prayed for my trip to Bakersfield Calf, I am going there to visit the other Christian Station in our ownership group. By me getting to know Nora and Sonny I understand more about the passion that drives Nora to serve the people of New Mexico. I would love to know our Gov. more but I cannot even get a returned call. I would love to understand him more. I pray for him everyday that he will walk with the Lord. There are no walls built around Nora and Sonny, they are just here to serve. My prayer is more Public Servants will tear down the walls and OPEN THE DOORS to the people and be sincere in their service to the Lord’s people.
We must pray for more leaders in our Country like Nora and Sonny.they are the All-American Couple we read about as kid’s…..It can still happen!
The Lord has me as a registered Independent….I am for the Lord…..Our Almighty Father..the Truth and the Way……No Political party will get us there…….it is up to us as individuals.
Today we remember those who have given their lives for our Country and those that have served and are serving.
My Dad, Wally Moede served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Marines during WWII. Dad had 6 brothers do the same! My Uncle Burton served in Korea, why that was called the Korean Conflict and not War is beyond me! My Uncle Bob Caraway served in a sub for 2 years in WWII……he had no contact with family for 2 yrs! My best friend Roger Carey of Windom, Minn. was killed in Vietnam after just bring there 6 months. 2 of my Dad’s brothers were never the same after WWII,they just remember crawling over dead bodies and all the blood.
Then this month….a number of our Soldiers are executed at Ft. Hood………
Let us be in prayer today………
You don’t hear the TRUTH much anymore from our leaders on WAR…….WAR is hell on earth……..and sometimes WAR is necessary. In fact, when is the last time you heard a Politician use the word WAR? Are they afraid to use that term? They may be afraid, but our young men and women fight the WAR!
Frank Haley sent this in……….
Must have been an awe inspiring moment. Hope all of us would have done the same!
THE MUSIC STOPPED
For those who are unaware: At all military base theaters, the National
Anthem is played before the movie begins.
This is written by a Military Chaplain in Iraq :
I recently attended a showing of ‘Superman 3’ here at LSA Anaconda. We
have a large auditorium we use for movies, as well as memorial services
and other large gatherings. As is the custom at all military bases, we
stood to attention when the National Anthem began before the main
feature. All was going well until three-quarters of the way through The
National Anthem, the music stopped.
Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back
in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few
rude comments, and everyone would sit down and yell for the movie to
begin. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in
the first place.
Here in Iraq , 1,000 Soldiers continued to stand at attention, eyes
fixed forward. The music started again and the Soldiers continued to
quietly stand at attention. But again, at the same point, the music
stopped. What would you expect 1,000 Soldiers standing at attention to
do?? Frankly, I expected some laughter, and everyone would eventually
sit down and wait for the movie to start.
But No!!… You could have heard a pin drop, while every Soldier
continued to stand at attention. Suddenly, there was a lone voice from
the front of the auditorium, then a dozen voices, and soon the room was
filled with the voices of a thousand soldiers, finishing where the
recording left off: “And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in
air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say
does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave, o’er the land of the free, and
the home of the brave.”
It was the most inspiring moment I have had in Iraq and I wanted you to
know what kind of Soldiers are serving you. Remember them as they fight
for us!
Pass this along as a reminder to others to be ever in prayer for all our
soldiers serving us here at home and abroad. Many have already paid the
ultimate price.

To lighten your load today a Funny Bone from Lew………..
A man in Topeka , Kansas decided to write a book about churches around the
country. He started by flying to San Francisco and started working East from there.
Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes.
He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with
a sign, which read “Calls: $10,000 a minute..”
Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor
answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and
if he pays the price he can talk directly to God.
The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to
visit churches in Seattle, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Milwaukee, and
many cities and towns all around the United States, he found more phones,
with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor.
Finally, he arrived in New Mexico. Upon entering a church in Las Cruces,
behold – he saw the usual golden telephone. But, THIS time, the sign read
“Calls: 35 cents”
Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, “Reverend, I have been in cities
all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone.
I have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to God,
but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute.
Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?”
The pastor, smiling broadly, replied, “Son, you’re in New Mexico now …
You’re in God’s Country. It’s a local call.”
