UPDATED: Listen Here: How Larry Moss Changed My Life It is with great sadness that I write this post on the passing of Pastor Larry Moss. Larry passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 74 at his home in LaCenter, Kentucky. I just got off the phone with his lovely wife Lou. Lou said “I feel like I have lost half of myself.” Larry had battled illnesses for the last few years. He was the Pastor for 36 years at Heights Cumberland in Albuquerque before moving back home 6 years ago to the LaCenter, Kentucky area. I told Lou that Larry made me a better man, he was my hero. I had talked to Larry about a month ago and he was in rehab from heart surgery he had in June of this year. Larry was one of the most Godly people I have ever known, his radio program on KKIM, which I managed for 8 years, ran for about 25 years, one of the most popular programs ever on KKIM. People were always wanting a copy of Larry’s shows, as he was such an excellent teacher. Pastor Harry Chapman of Westside Cumberland in Rio Rancho told me tonight “I never knew anyone who could usher us into the presence of Christ like Larry.” Pastor Harry first met Larry in 1980 when he and his wife Sally joined Heights Cumberland. Pastor Richard Mansfield of New Beginnings Church in Albuquerque said this about Larry, “He was a tremendous man of God, he was a Pastor to Pastors, a Pastor to Albuquerque.” In my 20 years in Albuquerque I have heard it said numerous times that Larry was the “Father” of so many pastors in New Mexico. He mentored so many! Lou said that services are pending and that there would be a service in Albuquerque at Heights Cumberland. I will update as I get information. Larry has left us all a tremendous Godly heritage, he taught us all well, he gave it all he had. He went to Kentucky to retire but God had different plans he still preached! I cannot say enough good things about this man! Larry Moss leaves an eternal heritage.
