Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
How are you today? We are praying for you and yours! I’m Kelly Snelgrove, an Inspirational writer at For God’s Glory Alone Ministries – FGGAM.org. I will be filling in for Pastor Dewey Moede today. Please pray for Pastor Dewey as he prepares his sermon for Sunday for the Baptist Church in Reserve, New Mexico.
From Pastor Dewey:Mrs. Marie Landes, 95, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Golden Living Center Fountainview in La Porte. Marie is the Mother of our Dear friend DeEtta Coe of Laporte, Indiana. I had the blessing of working for DeEtta and her hubby ‘Big Guy’ Ken Coe at WCOE Radio for five outstanding years in the early 80′s. DeEtta and Ken have been a huge blessing in my life and thousands of others through their radio stations. Let us keep the family in our prayers at this time. I have to say I knew Marie, and one thing I remember is that at the radio station one day she told me not to drink out of a Styrofoam cup! She said it was a cause of cancer. So every time I have picked up one to drink from I think of Marie, and then discard it! I knew her husband very well to, Floyd! He was one of my favorites because my Grandpa Caraway’s first name is Floyd and that is also my middle name! Floyd and Marie were such Godly people! I was super blessed to know them!
As you know FGGAM is about to celebrate in the Glory of God, our 2nd Birthday! We are getting some mail in that old tattered mailbag! LOL!
FGGAM and Dewey Moede have been an inspiration to me. I find the Daily Cup to
be God Breathed and a source of encouragement. I love what God is doing through
this ministry. Reaching out to those in need, preaching the gospel, caring for
the lost are all built on Godly character.
Dewey and his wife are a blessing from The Lord. They are always there to
pray for us, encourage us and help us. When we give I feel like we are giving to
a family and not a ministry.
Sincerely,
Ken Widelski in Ashburn, Virginia
Thank you Ken for the inspiring words as we march on for our Lord here at FGGAM!
One of Pastor Dewey’s favorite scriptures is:
Kind words are like honey—-sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24
By the way, Pastor Dewey said we would post his latest sermon…Well, praise God here it is from this past Sunday at Emmanuel Ministries in Rio Rancho before a packed church!

News and Inspiration you need to know at FGGAM.ORG:
U.S. Navy Bans Bibles From Navy Lodges
Today’s culture of ease and entertainment is producing a generation of young men and women who are educated yet often are unproductive. God desires higher standards for His people. He is looking for young men and women who do not shy away from hard work and are not afraid to get their hands dirty, who can respect authority, follow directions, think creatively, and happily complete their duties in a timely manner. Honest productive work is the backbone of strong families and blessed nations and these are the ones that He is training up to be future parents, teachers, and Leaders.
I would like to touch on some of these valuable character qualities with the hope of encouraging young workers, their parents, grandparents and mentors and anyone seeking to have more joy in their work.
God puts His heart into His work. He adds distinct and beautiful touches to everything He makes. Think of the intricate designs on the wings of butterflies. God could have made them all gray. His energy and creativity are without measure and overflow in everything He does. Whatever He makes is useful, beautiful and fascinating. Even things that are very simple are a work of art. He desires us to put what we have into our work and to add a splash of overflow that comes from a heart filled with God.
“You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.” (Ex 28:2)
God doesn’t finish things just to get them over with. No part in His work is drudgery or the bare minimum. In God’s eyes, doing what is asked of us is just the starting point. He’s the God of extra miles and the Giver of more than deserved. Therefore, workers who bear His name should take the initiative doing more than what is asked and required. We also need to be alert to see and meet needs before being asked.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Col 3:23)
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Lk 6:38)
We should never let dirt stop us from accomplishing our tasks. Refusing a job because we’ll get your hands soiled is the mark of person who hides from life instead of one who dives in and conquers it.
“By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.” (Ge 3:19)
God loves to speak, teach and to lead. He constantly teaches anyone willing to learn. A good worker will listen for God’s practical instructions and follow them.
“Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud: “To you, O people, I call out I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.” (Pr 8:1-6)
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (Jn 10:27)
The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (Ps 32:8)
In every Christian’s life the Bible should be used as the universal plumb line to determine whether our affairs are upright before God. God keeps His Word so we need to keep our word. Keeping our word brings stability to our relationships. Family, friends, and community will know they can count on us.
Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing beside a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was using a plumb line to see if it was still straight. And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A plumb line.” And the Lord replied, “I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins. (Am 7:7-8)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2Ti 3:16-17)
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. (Mt 7:24-25)
When you have a task to do, put your whole heart into it until it is finished.
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (Mt 25:21)
God looks for people with a heart like His who will join Him in this abundant and overflowing life. They obtain the joy of His presence and find favor with people.
And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ (Ac 13:22)
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. (Ps 37:23)
Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. (Pr 3:4)
God has given you the freedom, if you’ll receive it, to begin each day singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, thanking Him for all things. Those who sing their morning song will tend to be a productive worker and accept life’s challenges with a happy heart. If we retain God in our minds while we work throughout the day, when it’s time to return to bed at night, we will still have a song in our heart, a song of thanks to our faithful Creator.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. (Ps 59:16)
We exist as vessels through which God displays His attributes. Our usefulness in life depends not on our talents, but upon the Treasure Who lives in us. We can be amazed at His imagination and creativity for glory and for beauty as we yield to Him.
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. (2Co 4:7)
