Let me share with you this email I awoke to this morning, This speaks to the hurt many have………
Our Friend who sent this email started out my writing..this reminds me of you, Dewey……….
“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.”
― Henri Nouwen
The one who shares my pain and has touched my wounds.
Our friend writes……
Things here not going so well. I have been turned down for every single job I sent resumes to.
I wonder just what to hell my value is anymore.
Most every day I will get at least one email or phone call that states the same as our friend does here. I am thankful people trust to ask for help. It takes guts to ask. Some hide in sorrow, drowning their sorrow in substance abuse, anger and other nasty things. Some spend money that they don’t have at Christmas time and that just makes matters worse. Let us pray for our friend, please, and all those hurting. One of the things we can do as people of God is to share our struggles and how God delivered us from our challenges. This devotional by Smith Wiigglesworth addresses the human struggle. Wigglesworth talks about the greatest struggle I had at one time in my life, RELINQUISHING CONTROL! RESTING IN THE GLORY OF GOD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES! I burned to the ground years and years ago and God rose me up! He saved me. I was blind and could not see……read on……….
Have you relinquished control?
Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Genesis 32:24
Looking back on our spiritual journeys, we have held on to our own way too much of the time. When we come to the end of ourselves, God can begin to take control. The Scripture asks: “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” Amos 3:3. We cannot enter into the profound truths of God until we relinquish control, for “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption” 1 Cor. 15:50
Jacob’s name means “supplanter.” When Jacob came to the end of his plans, God had a better plan.
How slow we are to see that there is a better way.
It took me too long to relinquish, and when I did, WOW WEE! I am in so in love with our Lord and His way, not mine! Amen!
This comes from a Christmas gift I got last night from FGGAM Board Member Wanell Pate. Smith Wigglesworth on Spirit Filled Living! Thank you Wanell, we love you! Merry Christmas! Love the teaching’s of Wigglesworth!
We had so much fun last night at the FGGAM Board meeting! Praise God!
