To start off the week let us start with this HUGE FUNNY BONE from my Sharon…………
AN INTERVIEW WITH A 80-YEAR OLD WOMAN
An Interview With An 80-year-old Woman
The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married — for the fourth time.
The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband’s occupation.
‘He’s a funeral director,’ she answered.
‘Interesting,’ the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn’t mind telling him a little about her first three
husbands and what they did for a living.
She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she’d first married a banker when she was in her early 20s, t hen a circus ringmaster when in her 40s, later on a preacher when in her 60s, and now in her 80s, a funeral director.
The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.
She smiled and explained, ‘I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.’
Good One!
I Praise God for all of you here that meet for our Daily Cup of Grace! I Praise God for all your prayers for those in need. I thank you all for your prayers for me and Sharon and family and KKIM! We are so blessed to be a part of this family!!!
Last week many of you responded with emails for our Dear Friend Sam!
Dear Sam,
I just wanted you to know that God Is Faithful & Jesus NEVER Fails! We’re praying for you here at KKIM and I put you on our international prayer list as well at http://simplechurchfellowship.weebly.com , because we have over 1,600 members from around the world, who will pray that God’s Will Be Done, Upon, In & Through YOU!
Shalom,
Rev. Mark Tross
Dewey, I always read your emails and this one struck me as I have had two people who are close to me with similar problems and went through all of the shots as well that temporarily eliminated the pain. In both cases, the arthritis had gotten so bad that it had pinched the nerve causing all the pain. In both cases, they had surgery to cut away the growth and burrogh out the canal for the nerve to go through and release the pressure off the nerve. Both had overnight relief after years of agonizing pain. Just in case this person was afraid of the surgery (as I do not know the circumstances obiously) I just wanted them to know that I have seen success with this surgery twice – and that is 2 out of 2, very good odds. God Bless.

Dear Sam,
It is okay that you feel/felt weak. And you know what, me too…I am just coming up from falling in a weak place.
When we are in the middle of battling a seemingly hopeless situation, especially when we feel the brunt of the pain, for me anyway, it is natural to be weak.
I thought I as going blind recently as my hope and faith was weak…
I knew a better hope, but I was too weak in Spirit to apply my faith.
I don’t know if this makes any sense, but my purpose in writing you today is to just say it is going to be okay. In your pain, it may be hard to know that it CAN go away or that God can give you a higher strength to get through it, but Jesus says to pray for each other and encourage each other I think because HE knew how weak we could become and how much we just need to hear that it is going to be okay when we are too weak to proclaim it in the name of Jesus.
Standing by you in firm faith and understanding more than you know…
And remembering to meditate on Jesus, because HE says, “by your faith you are healed”
Love In Christ,
Karen Rowe
Dewey,
Sam and I have been such dear friends for about 30 years. She lives not too far from me and I just saw her yesterday. She is better, thanks to your prayers. She and I keep each other in the Lord’s light and pray constantly. She has had such pain in the past years, I have watched her going through it. She has given me such hope in life through our Dear Lord and by passing on your site to me gave me more that one could ask for. God Bless her always and praise the Lord for you and your mission. Thank you for being on the other side of my computer screen.
Nicole also sen this in response to our posting awhile back, “Oh God what are we doing wrong!”
I was just able to read this Dewey and believe that Satan is a real living being. I don’t believe that Jesus sinned while on this earth. He was the Son of God. Satan is alive and well. I think he has his hand on many people, places, and things. Obviously, with the way the world is right now!
Our Lord is always with us and knows our troubles. We pray to him and ask for forgiveness and for his help and guidance in every area. Look at he miracles he has done for all of us. We have a choice to make.
Not believing in Satan is more a form of denial from what I can see. Praise Jesus for giving the gift of knowing him and searching his truth and grace.
I hope this is what you were asking for?
God Bless all of you and your readers and listeners. I am so thankful for you all.
Love to you,
Nicole
And here is Sam………………
I thank you so very much. Our Lord knew I would be needing you all. And sent Dewey and the ‘family’ around him into my life. The ‘Cup’ is always such a Blessing to me. Reading words of Life. I am indeed a Blessed woman. Even in this pain. I know I am not alone. That means so much to me. Thank you again.

We also prayed for Shona Neff’s trip…………Here is her report……………
Hey Dewey,
I’m back from Vegas and God is alive and well in Sin City. Thank goodness God doesn’t just hang out in churches…the rest of the world needs Him too.
I feel so blessed to have been able to spend time with some amazing Christians during the 3-day workshop. It’s going to make a great radio show and I will share there. But suffice it to say God is amazing and His plans are far superior than what we could plan if we tried. Rock On, GOD!
Although I have not been officially told I am a permanent staff member, they are planning to train me to facilitate small groups with their public speaking branch. Lord willing this will take place in Albuquerque at a CLASSeminar event scheduled for June. If things fall through I will ask for prayer as to where God may be leading me if it isn’t in that direction. I even received an engraved name tag that I wore with pride and thanks to God for the opportunity.
It’s great to be on the mountaintop for a few days, but the kingdom work we are called to do is done in the trenches of our everyday lives. I’m back in the trenches, but well inspired by my time in Vegas. Thanks to you and everyone for the prayers!
Shona
I would like to ask for prayer for my brother Daryl. He is in a group home in Wisconsin. Please pray for him.
PRAISE NOTE: Sharon starts today at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque! Her days of commuting to Santa Fe are over for now!
Your prayers for our family and the Ministry of KKIM are so much appreciated.
When times hit you when you feel like not praying………your tired……..worn down by the battle……….
What should we do?
We can recognize the accuser. In such times, Satan mocks are inability to pray: You’re supposed to be a prayer warrior, but you can’t pray! If you give up, requests will go unanswered. This is not the faithfulness God is looking for. You are not the person of prayer He wants.
The accuser works subtly to plant guilt and discouragement, but we can identify what he is doing and resist his lies in the name of Jesus.
We can rest in who God is.
The Lord understands. No earthly father can out-sympathize our Father or have more patience as He waits for words to come.
As a father has compassion to his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. Ps 103:13-14
God is also tender. “A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick will not snuff out” (Is.42:3). As Frances J. Roberts wrote in Come Away My Beloved, “O My child,…I will not over-tax you. I will use you, but I will not destroy you in the using.” God will challenge and stretch us, but He is mindful of our limitations and protective of our fragile and sometimes-bruised state.
We know God is helpful:
God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. Ro. 8:26
Once again I PRAISE GOD for all of you!!! Let us now get the latest from the State Dept. Of Health………….
Departments of Health and Public Education Close All Public Schools in Socorro and Lordsburg School Districts , Carlsbad High School and Deming Intermediate School
Closings Include the Cancellation of All School-Related Activities
( Las Cruces ) – The New Mexico Department of Health and the New Mexico Public Education Department announced today that Carlsbad High School, Deming Intermediate School, all public schools in the Socorro Consolidated School District including Cottonwood Valley Charter School in Socorro and all public schools in the Lordsburg Municipal School District will close May 4 through May 10 due to probable cases of H1N1 influenza. These are probable cases that the Department of Health is already investigating.
The school closings will include the cancellation of all athletic and academic competitions, practices and extra-curricular activities. Child care programs and after school programs that are located on public or charter school properties will also be closed for the next week. Parents should keep their children at home and not allow them to congregate with other students to keep the possible spread of illness to a minimum. The closures will affect 14 schools.
“We are taking quick action to prevent the spread of H1N1 flu in New Mexico by closing the schools in these communities,” said Health Secretary Alfredo Vigil, MD. “Parents around the state need to continue to be diligent and keep their children home from school if they develop influenza-like symptoms.”
The decision to close the schools was based on probable cases of H1N1 influenza cases and guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Schools will conduct a thorough cleaning of high contact surfaces including doorknobs, counters and fixtures with disinfectants during the closures.
“Although we have not had any more confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus, the Department of Health, Public Education Department and superintendents closely collaborated on this decision to close the schools,” said Education Secretary Veronica C. García. “The decision was made in the best interests of children in the schools and to minimize the continued spread of any illness. I am counting on principals, coaches, athletic directors, and activity sponsors to strictly adhere to these guidelines about practices, athletic and academic activities, and any extra curricular activities.”
Secretary García urged parents to keep students who are ill to stay home from school.
“In general, any student, even students who are under truancy plans with schools or courts, are not to go to school if they are sick,” Secretary García said.
The Department of Health announced Saturday New Mexico’s first confirmed case in an 18-year-old male from Valencia County. The CDC also reported that the 1-year-old male from Santa Fe County did not have H1N1 flu. The Department of Health is investigating 14 probable cases and one confirmed case in New Mexico . All cases range in age from 5 to 39 and are located in six counties.
