Dear KKIM Family,
I PRAISE GOD FOR ALL OF YOU………..I PRAISE GOD THAT I CAN BE WITH YOU THIS DAY!!!!
I was moved yesterday by the words of Mary…….I have not met her but she stopped in at Dearholt Auto Care for an oil change, and told Jim Dearholt to tell me Thanks for making KKIM such a fantastic station. Well, Mary PRAISE GOD for all those who work for God that make KKIM a voice for GOD! I look at my part as the caretaker of KKIM. Anyhow, when I hear words of honey like those of Mary, they encourage me to go on……..We all need encouragement………and I hope that KKIM and the Cup bring you encouragement…….Encouragement in our LORD! PRAISE GOD!!!
Tonight at 8pm and two times this weekend KKIM and Rick Griffin of Albuquerque present Tony Dungy’s One hour Radio Special, “Uncommon”. It is based on Tony’s new book. For more info and more airing times this weekend go to www.mykkim.com
Don’t forget that tonight is Prayer night at Heights Christian Church at 7pm. Please join us as we gather to pray for our nation. All are welcomed!
Today……..I present to us here at the Cup, some things to “chew” on, as we used to say back home………or as Festus said at times on “Gunsmoke” this coffee is so strong you can chew it!!!!” HA! HA!
Did You Ask?
I possess good advice and competence; I have understanding and strength. Proverbs 8:14
BOTTOM LINE:
Take time today to confess your sins fearlessly, then follow up with a time of rejoicing greatly in the grace and forgiveness of God.
Chuck Swindoll, “Laughter belongs in the Church, not in the bar…….if we take laughter out of the Church, the Church will go to the bar.”
The way we tinker with our temptations and tweak our reasons for acting on them are indications that we actually enjoy dancing the tango with the Devil. Albert Haase
From Pastor Jesse, who you hear on KKIM Saturdays at 3pm, Sundays 7am and Tuesdays at 3:30………..
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17).
The greatest need we have today is neither money, nor buildings, nor influence, nor tradition, nor protocol; all these though used wisely could increase our effectiveness in the proclamation and dissemination of the gospel; however, what we need is to hear the cry of the lost soul. Some Christians are so busy with crossing the Ts and dotting the Is’ of the theological and doctrinal debate that we seldom hear the cries of the lost souls. We seldom hear the cries of “I need a savior to rescue me from this body of death.”
Let’s continue to pray for each other, for the prayer of the righteous avails much!

From Perry Floyd………
Divorce happens. A bumper sticker I saw recently while driving in my fair city, read;
“Don’t worry, my gay marriage won’t effect your straight divorce.” Ouch!, That hurt.
Because the sentiment behind it is legitimate. While I am not a proponent of gay marriage, we straight Americans (and we Christian Americans) have not “done” marriage in a way as to properly represent what God had in mind when He made and brought Eve.
From Pastor Leonard…….
Someone once told me, “The secret of growing in divine wisdom is to come to God stupid. Tell Him you don’t know a thing. Tell Him you need to know how to think, how to tie your shoes, how to win friends and influence anyone!” With that kind of heart God can and will do His best work.
Found this quote. Thought of you since you are praying, “don’t let me do anything stupid”.
From Arthur Wood…………
I will do more than belong———I will participate.
I will do more than care————I will help.
I will do more than I believe——-I will practice.
I will do more than be fair———I will be kind.
I will do more than forgive———I will forget.
I will do more than dream———I will work.
I will do more than teach———–I will inspire.
I will do more than earn————-I will enrich.
I will do more than give—————I will serve.
I will do more than live—————-I will grow.
I will do more than suffer———-I will triumph.
American Founding Father Thomas Pain wrote in “The America Crises”…….”The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.”
From Dewey………
“I miss the “Old Spice” generation………The WWII Generation……….I still get Old Spice from Lars at Christmas because he knows how much I loved my Dad who would use Old Spice aftershave……..Dad was a SGT. In the Marines during WWII.When we smelled Old Spice around the house when I was a kid when know everything was GOOD! Dad was home! The WWII Generation is rapidly passing away and I miss their wisdom……common sense………hard work. PS I still wear Old Spice now and then to remind me of my Dad.

25% of all Americans alive at this moment have never known a world without the Internet and Internet access. That represents 75 million Americans who consider going online as natural as turning on the TV or cooking something in the microwave oven.

“If Americans can be divorced for “incompatibility of temper” I cannot conceive why they are not all divorced. I have known many happy marriages, but never a compatible one. The whole aim of marriage is to fight through and survive the instant when incompatibility becomes unquestionable. For a man and a women, as such, are incompatible.” THIS WAS SAID IN 1910!!!!! I REPEAT 1910 by G.K. Chesterton “What’s Wrong With the World”
IDLE HANDS, THE DEVILS WORKSHOP………….
Idle hands make one poor; but diligent hands bring riches Proverbs 10:4
Our obsession with whether prayer works is the WRONG question. We know prayer works. The real question is, are we prepared for God’s answer?
If we spend all our effort on our own white-knuckled struggle against a temptation, it grows bigger and bigger. Glen H. Stassen
Here is the mailbag………….Love to get mail!!! Drop us a line of encouragement, okay?
Dear Friends,
First of all, thanks to Bill for sending out the notice of our event (scheduled for today) to protest Planned Parenthood’s big fundraiser
at the ABQ Balloon Park Museum with their “special” guest, PP Federation of America President, Cecile Richards, headlining the event
Here are the details below. Please come and join us and let’s show Ms. Richards and Planned Parenthood, we don’t want their ‘services’
in New Mexico.
What: PDL Prayer and Witness to welcome PP President, Cecile Richards
When: Friday, May 1st, 2009
Where: ABQ Balloon Fiesta Park
Time: 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
PDL is sponsoring a public prayer and witness event during the PP fundraiser. We will be doing what we do during 40 Days and Life Chains – pray at the sidewalk and witness to passersby with our signs and prayerful presence that abortion is deadly wrong. We will be inviting TV and print media to come. We need your help to get enough pro-life Christians to line Balloon Museum Drive and the sidewalk facing Alameda Boulevard which is a busy thoroughfare. There is ample parking and facilities nearby. Families are welcome.
The Welcome Cecile Richards Flyer and Planned Parenthood Fact Sheet can be viewed, downloaded and printed
for distribution. (Click on the “Download This Doc” button) Please help get the word out as soon as possible and let’s have a good Christian presence in public this coming Friday. (http://www.docstoc.com/docs/5643950/PP-Flyer)
God bless,
Phil
