Dewey,
I had lunch with you a few weeks ago with Leonard and Mark. Brother, I just want to say thank you for what you to for the cause of Jesus Christ in the state of NM. Thank you really seems inadequate when I think of all you have done to protect marriage over the last several weeks. Nonetheless, thank you for all you do as you serve on the front lines for Christ. I praise God for people like you, Bill Redmond, Jose Vasquez, Pam Wolfe and others who are shining in the darkness!
Thanks again Dewey! Keep Shining!

Dear Sir,
It was a dramatic day @ the Roundhouse! This was my FIRST VISIT during a session and I’ve lived here in Albq since Aug ’87. It fell on a day that I could be off from work and so I drove myself, parked @ the Mall and took the city bus which dropped me a few blocks away. I arrived @ 10AM, (the bill was heard @ 4PM), I didn’t mind the wait
…it was interesting.
I have all along felt that bills such as SB12 should go before a “vote of the public” and not be legislated by a few “point people”. Perhaps that would be the solution for those desiring to see same gender couples being defined legally…take it to the ballot. There was no “hatred” I witnessed from the “against SB12” side towards others although the “for SB12 people are claiming victimization. I could not even believe “sides” were drawn in this issue “within the Chambers”.
I always understood that the public should be allowed to fill the Gallery first come basis however there were designated “sides” and the persons “for SB12” requested you take their position and wear their “Now or Later” sticker in order to get in from their designated Gallery entrance and get an available seat! Also Senator Keller “Reserved” 30-40 seats for HIS GUESTS on the “against” side.
Those seats were finally made available later around 3 PM.
FYI- Senator Keller voted “For SB12”.
My history is I have lived the lifestyle choice of homosexuality in the past. I was also the victim of a gang-related violent “hate crime”. I am married for 16 years now and have 3 children. I believe we all have free will and personal choices and to legislate such freedoms that are “moral” choices and “force the neck” should not be the business of a few but a “democratic vote of the public”.
There were several unethical things done yesterday @ that session to sway and censure the vote. They were NOT done by the “against SB12″ people. I plan to thank each one who voted their conscience yesterday and express my admiration for their courage to speak-up, (in spite of threats and opposition” from those who desire agreement with their position).
“Tolerance”, used to mean mutual “respect”…now it seems redefined to mean “I agree”. I do not agree…however I will offer care, concern/respect & love as I am allowed. Thanks for the soundboard. NQ
Dewey,
Great news! To God be the glory!

Shalom Dewey,
Our G-d went before us and gave us a great victory in defeating SB-12. Debate began at 4 p.m. Prayed through Deuteronomy 20:1-4, Joshua 1:1-9, and many Psalms throughout the a.m. and p.m. asking that hearts be changed even as the debate occurred.
1 When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the L-RD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. 2 When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army. 3 He shall say: “Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. 4 For the L-RD your G-d is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:1-4
Senators Bill Payne and Bill Sharer gave swift, articulate rebuttals to Cisco McSorley’s attempt to reword the Measure. Bless G-d for the 10 Democratic Senators, including Bernadette Sanchez, who definitively and decisively voiced their opposition to SB 12. Let’s all be sure to call them and email them to let them know how much we appreciate them.
Believers adjourned to the Lobby outside the Senate Gallery to thank the L-rd after the vote. Senator Nora Espinosa was there rejoicing with us. She said she would call you as soon as she left the lobby. A young man from Olive Tree Messianic Fellowship, who wore his prayer shawl (Tallit), blew his Shofar right after the prayer! It was a magnificent, appropriate, moment.
Bless G-d for the many faithful New Mexicans who prayed from work and home, called and emailed Senators!
Khazak ve Ematz – prevail and remain resolute! Joshua 1:6-9

Dear Dewey,
Someone challenged me several years ago to be as focused, persistent and intense in my thanksgiving as I had been in my requests before God answered me.
I have been trying to do this since with wonderful personal affirmation from the Lord.
I would encourage you to do this over the air with your listeners. You have been praying for this answer for several weeks with multiple letters and requests.
We bring honor and Glory to our Lord when we celebrate and Praise HIM!
Blessings (Matt 5 style),
Clyde
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye Heavenly Host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. — Thomas Ken, 1674
Blessings to all of the prayer warriors in the body of Christ in New Mexico and elsewhere. Truly, our God is an awesome God. Now we turn our attention to the other bills on the table. We can’t rest on this victory, the war still goes on and the evil one is not dead yet.
By the way, as we were praying, we watched the proceedings live on NewMexicoIndependent.com. We were counting down with all of you. Have a great weekend in the Lord. Our next prayer meeting at Heights Christian Church will be on Friday, March 6, at 7 PM. It will be a time of praise and thanksgiving for the “Great things He has done.” God bless.

Dear Friends,
Senator Carlos Cisneros from Questa credits members of the Christian community for what early in the 2009 Legislative session appeared to be an inevitable endorsement of the homosexual lifestyle in New Mexico. SB 12 Domestic Partnerships was brought before Senate legislative committees as a bill to help old folks who couldn’t or wouldn’t get married. Heads of senior citizen governmental agencies and non-profits testified for the passage of the bill.
Those attending the committee hearings, however, tended to be young advocates for homosexuality. For the first time, Christians who attended these sessions out numbered those in support of the legislation.
In yesterday’s Senate hearing, seating was limited to half “for” and half “against.” As a result, those opposing the bill were required to wait in the hall for hours before being seated while those in support were allowed into the chambers immediately because their numbers were small.
Concerned Christians began arriving a little after 6:00 a.m., resulting in their section being filling shortly after 8:00 a.m. The bill was not heard until almost 4:00 p.m. The faithful had waited as much as 10 hours for the hearing and vote.
The final count on the bill was 17 Senators for and 25 Senator against.
We all want to take a very special moment and thank God for the defeat of SB 12 Domestic Partnerships. Thanks everyone for participating, and we need to thank our legislators for defeating what would have become same-sex marriage in our state.
Will you please pray for and call and/or email the following and thank them for opposing domestic partnerships in our state.

Dewey,
I received this from Champlain Francis in California and it sounds like a good idea.

Dear Friends and Intercessors:
This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind
began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that
President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he
signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions,
permission to fund embryonic stem cell research, and federal funding for
contraception. I have been involved in the pro-life movement for
nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and his political
party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this
party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of
Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be
legal.
As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out
in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image
of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to
Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this
issue. It will be quiet, but clear.
Here is what I would like you to do:
Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply
stores. On the front, address it to
President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, D.C. 20500
On the back, write the following message.
This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.
It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.
The envelopes are to be mailed all on the same day. On March 31, 2009,=put
it in the mail, and send it.
Forward this email to every one of your friends who you think would send one too.
I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every chid who died
before having a chance to live. Pray that God will change The heart of the president.
If the Lord will’s we will get back to Weekend To Remember! The Lord
is the leader here, not me……I am just trying to follow HIS will and not do anything stupid. HA! HA!
Hope you enjoyed the mailbag!
Let us wrap up with David Standridge of Warrior Life……..

Empowering Strength
The end of the movie Braveheart always moves me in a special way. It is a tremendous movie. In the end, William Wallace, suffers extreme torture. As he is stretched on a table and disembowled he musters enough strength to yell “Freedom!!!” That one word shakes those listening. That one word empowers his followers to continue the fight. That one word serves as a last reminder that while his body is dying his spirit still lives. That one word summarizes Wallace’s entire life’s purpose. I find it very powerful and motivating. That act of bravery, however, is summoned through an inner strength that empowers Wallace to live a life that is above average.
Just as in the movie Braveheart, we too are called to live with empowering strenght. Think with me for a moment about those ancient warriors. Men whose name still ring inspire thoughts of passion, purpose, determination and strength . . . Alexander the Great, Julius Ceasar, Attilah the Hun, William Wallace, George Washington, Alvin York, George Patton, Douglas McArthur, and so on. These men were able to channel strength to overcome their adversaries, fight battles and win victories. Their victories did not necessarily come because they were physically the strongest men around. Their success was not based on how much they could bench press or curl. No, their strength came from inward empowerment.
That same empowering strength that we look to in the warriors of old is also available to us. The question is whether we are man enough to find that empowering strength. An inner empowering strength that allows us to do that which we cannot do on our own. An empowering strength called grace. I’ve learned from my pastor that grace is not just God’s unmerited favor, but his strength to do that which does not seem possible in the natural. We see this played out in 2 Corinthians 12:9. This is the classic “thorn in the flesh story.” Regardless of doctrinal differences, one thing is clear from this passage. Paul talks about strength being perfected in his weakness. We see in this verse God saying “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” What is the sufficiency here? It is grace. It is the strength and power that we find in our weakness to do that which we are unable to do on our own!!! That is absolutely amazing when we think about it. Gives new meaning to the phrase, “amazing grace.”
Why is this important for us today? I think we can all agree that we are seeing men fighting their battles and it appears that some are failing. I’m sure you all can think of a person who you know who is fighting a battle but not seeing the victory with that battle. At warrior life we acknowledge that the battles will come, but the real test is not whether the battle comes but how the battle is approached. Thus, it is the warrior who fights the battle differently than others. To see victory in the battles, we must tap into the empowering strength that is available to us. We must utilize the grace that is sufficient for us to overcome whatever is thrown our way. This empowering strength sets the warrior apart from other men.
Just think about how different your battles would be fought if you approached the battle with the inner strength that is available to you? Such strength would empower you to sustain, fight and win in ways that you have never known before. It is the display of this inner strength that makes a hero. Those historical names mentioned above are not famous because of their physical power. No! Those historical figures are known, honored and respected because of the epowering inner strength that they displayed during times of trouble. So too is it for you, men. Your name may never make the pages of the newspaper or be displayed in the history books, but by displaying the empowering strength in your life you can make a difference in your family, at your job, for your children, in your community.
I found some great verses that talk about this outward expression of inner strength. Psalms 18:29-42. Once you read those verses you should be properly fired up. It declares that the Lord gives me strength (v 32). He trains my hands for battle and strengthens my arms (v. 34). He enlarges my footsteps so that I pursued my enemies and overtook them. (v. 36-37). But notice that I didn’t just overtake them, but I consumed them and completely shattered them (v 37-38). God has strengthened me for my battle (v. 39) so that I shall beat my enemies into dust. (v. 42). When was the last time you could declare that you beat your enemies into dust? Are you ready to take on your enemies with such empowering strength?
What battle are you facing today? Alcoholism? Pornography? Anger? Fear? Self Confidence? The list may be endless, but know that God is standing ready to empower you with strength so that you won’t just feel victorious, but that you will experience victory. Aren’t you ready to experience victory? With such empowering strength your approach to life, to circumstances, to the news, to attitudes, to other people will radically change. When you hear doom and gloom on the news you will laugh at the violence. When you hear about all of the lack, you will laugh at the famine. When you hear about difficulty you will laugh at the trial. (Job 5:22) You can do so because you are a warrior. You can do so because you are empowered with strength.
Relcaim your Warrior Spirit
Dave
Thanks Dave!
Let us pray……….
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for finding us……Thank you for not giving up when the search took YOU to unpleasant places. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!
