Dear KKIM Family,
Just a quick note here on this day of History in our Country!
Being from a small town in Minnesota, Windom, I grew up around grain elevators. On my recent trip to Indiana as I drove down the highways I was looking for grain elevators. Many have disappeared over the years. There is just something “safe” about seeing grain elevators, they bring back memories of maybe a simpler life…….they remind me of my Grandpa Caraway and all the fun we had on the farm.
Anyhow there is a Montana couple, yes I worked in Sidney, Montana and loved seeing all the grain elevators across the lovely landscape of Big Sky Country as I traveled to do ballgames! This Montana couple are featured in this weeks edition of American Profile. They take pictures of grain elevators………great story and pictures……as they capture rural America…….go to www.americanprofile.com and have a cup of coffee and enjoy a taste of history! Rural America is the back bone of this great country.
You know I love books…..Sharon got me another one………John W. Scott’s “Basic Christianity”……..Pastor Rick Warren calls it a landmark book……..a must read……
Here is what I would like to share with you today from the book……….
We never take God by surprise. We can never anticipate HIM. HE always makes the first move. HE is always there “in the beginning.” Before we existed, God took action. Before we decided to look for God, God had already been looking for us. The Bible isn’t about people trying to discover God but about God reaching out to find us.
May you read HIS word today, Dewey Sharon and family
