Dear KKIM Family,
The Bible verse that I have selected as my driving force for this year and beyond is……….
“My life is worth NOTHING unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the LORD JESUS” Acts 20:24
After posting this a few emails from friends…………
Thanks Dewey! I needed to hear and read that scripture today. -Amy Schultz, cancer free in Pasadena, CA!
Thanks for the note Amy……please keep Amy in your prayers!
Happy New Year Dewey, Sharon and family,
Thank you for forwarding that scripture. I needed to hear that today. I suppose the Lord knew that so he sent me YOU!
Dewey, you will never know how very thankful I am for your ministry. I thank God this New Year for you, and how He is using you to uplift us weak souls that need the reminders and ‘faith food’ that He puts on your heart.
I will pray that this year will be even more fruitful for you and Sharon. And that your ministry will attract more and more believers so that HIS word can be spread.
Have a great day , sincerely, Sam

More Prayer Needs……….
Please pray for Pastor Bob Brown’s father, Weldon Brown, who is having health problems. Pastor Bob loves his Dad so much and I am sure whishes he could be with his Dad all the time.
Also please keep Shelly and her Mom in your prayers…Shelly can you send me your Mom’s name?
Hey Sharon
Didn’t mean to be a scrooge but life has been hectic. This is the first year since I started sending Christmas cards years ago that I didn’t get to it. My mom has been sicker and I’ve had to spend more time helping her. She’s in rehab now to help her get stronger. She won’t be able to go back to her retirement center so we’ll need to find an assisted living place. My sisters and kids were here for Christmas which was nice.
How is your house thing coming along? You’re in my prayers.
Big hug to you and Dewey! Shelly
Thanks Shelly for praying for us about our housing situation. Please continue to pray for this as we have passed the deadline and nothing is resolved. We are very concerned about this situation and our trying hard to follow the Lord’s will in this and also waiting upon HIM, as we know HE is working on it. This is one of those situations in life that really can drag you down because you just don’t know the outcome and it can ruin your financial’s., lose your home, etc…..
We are not the only one’s in this situation at this point in our nation’s history. But we are listening to the Lord and trying hard to follow is way. Thank you for permitting me to be very vulnerable here, Dewey
I hope many of you have found the CUP is a place where you can feel safe and make yourself vulnerable……..That is what the Lord desires for all of us.
Now to my year end RANT! Here is some responses and then some postings that tie right in with it……………………If you missed my rant you can still see it at www.deweysdailycup.com
BRAVO! BRAVO!
Applause! Whistle! Stomping! More applause!
Not for your words, for which I do affirm you, but for your commitment to DO SOMETHING and take action on your concerns! I know that when Dewey Moede says he is going to take action, something will actually happen…so I not only look forward to watching, I am committing to praying for you Dewey. I will pray that you will seek guidance from God, act wisely and courageously and not be intimidated by opposition. I will also pray for your protection, because words don’t faze our enemy, but action really makes him mad.
You’re not the only one who is rightly mad. You have good company – Lee Iacocca, the make-it-happen CEO. Here’s what he is saying…
Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He’s now 82 years old and has a new book, ‘Where Have All The Leaders Gone?’.
Lee Iacocca Says:
‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder! We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course.’
Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned, ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the bums out!’
You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘America’ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?
I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have. The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C’s of leadership, with crisis being the first.)
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here’s where we stand.
We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving.
We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country.
We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.
Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble.
Our borders are like sieves.
The middle class is being squeezed every which way.
These are times that cry out for leadership.
But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?
We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.
Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm.
Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry..
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?
Had Enough? Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope – I believe in America. In my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America ‘s greatest moments. I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: The ‘Great Depression,’ ‘World War II,’ the ‘Korean War,’ the ‘Kennedy Assassination,’ the ‘Vietnam War,’ the 1970’s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.
If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this: ‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a “Call to Action” for people who, like me, believe in America’. It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and go to work. Let’s tell ’em all we’ve had ‘enough.’
God bless you and empower you Dewey! ~ Kay Branch
Thanks for your encouragement Kay.That is where the Bible verse that the Lord gave me to read really means a lot. Please my friends keep this in your prayers…..Please continue to pray for me and Sharon and our family and this ministry. Thanks again for your powerful, God filled note Kay!

Leonard’s Lines December 31, 2008
WHO WILL STAND IN THE GAP?
Ezekiel 22:23-31 v. 30
“I searched for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me before for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.”
Well, 2008 is coming to a close. As one headline read, “2008 – Good Riddance”. It has been a year of troubles, indictments, fund mismanagement, lawsuits, and immeasurably more sin than we could have ever imagined.
So, what can we do?
Well, first of all let me give you a little hint as to what is taking place. The battles all around us: Hamas vs Israel, Pakistan vs India, credit crunch, marital attacks, US vs China, China vs Taiwan, North Korea vs everybody, pro-choice vs pro-life, etc., etc., etc. The battle IS NOT merely a physical one. One person against another or one country against another. There is a deeper root cause.
Ephesians 6:12 says, “for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spirtual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
These conflicts are spearheaded, encouraged and supported by the evil, demonic world forces of darkness.
Ezekiel 22 reminds us that the sins, whether Israel of the Old Testament or USA of 2009, will be punished. God says, “as they gather silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into the furnace to blow fire on it to melt it, so I will gather you in My anger and in My wrath and I will lay you there and melt you.”
Greed, self-indulgence, convenience, materialism, murder, jealousy, have all been promoted in the name of religion. God says in Ezekiel that they “made no distinction between the holy and the profane, and they have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean”. 22:21
What we (America or the world) sow, we will reap.
So, what can we do as we enter into a new year…2009.
First, commit to be a people of prayer. Not only pray, but remember that prayer involves listening also. Psalm 46:10, “be still and know that I am God”. When God directs – listen and OBEY. Exodus 15:26, “listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God.” We plead our case before the Father, begging for mercy and grace, BUT, we also listen and obey His direction and purpose for our lives.
Second, STAND UP. God asks the question, “who will build the wall, who will stand in the gap.” v. 30
Who will say, enough is enough? Who will stand up for righteousness? Who will speak up for the unborn? Who will speak for the Lord in condemning sin and encouraging right living? As a Christian these are not the times to be weak or hesitant. We are not playing games here. It is an all out war, Jesus vs Satan. We are not playing Wii or Play Station. Satan has your soul in his sights and he doesn’t care how he gets it. He never sleeps, goes on vacation or calls time out. So, NOW is the time that we obey, Ephesians 6:13-14, “stand firm…stand firm”
Third, humble ourselves before the Lord and confess our sins and repent. II Chronicles 7:14, “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Here’s the call. IT IS NOT TO THE UNRIGHTEOUS OR SINNERS God is talking about in these verses. The call is to “my people”. God’s people. God’s people called by His name. They are ones who have chosen to rebel and allowed the “world forces of darkness” to attack and capture their thoughts and actions for the evil one. We are the ones who have rebelled.
We often say, if only America would…
Friends, America will never be what the citizenry is not. Each of us must be held accountable for our OWN actions before the Father. Each one of us must humble ourselves before the Father and confess our sins of apathy, complancy, yea even our lazyness.
WHO WILL STAND IN THE GAP?
May WE be the ones in 2009 who respond and say YES to standing in the gap and being the intercessors for our country, our world. Isaiah 6:8, “whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, Here am I, Send me!”
I WILL BE ONE…will YOU join me?
I am praying for you and your family to have a Christ honoring 2009 and that each one of you will resolve to STAND IN THE GAP on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“And the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all. Amen.” Rev. 22:21
Ezekiel 22:23-31
v. 30
“I searched for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me before for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.”
Thanks Pastor Leonard!!!!
That’s all for now……………May God be with You all!!!! Love, Dewey Sharon and family
