Dear KKIM Family, Rise up, O People of God!!!
Have done with Lesser things, Give heart and soul and mind and strength to serve the King of kings. Grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate like Sharon just did and enjoy this cup with us…………it is so full of Christmas goodies………make sure and drink the FULL CUP!!!!
We have three HUGE PRAISE notes this morning!!!
Your prayers mean so much!!!
First this from Oswald Chambers……..
The time a Christian gives to prayer and communion with God is not meant for his natural life, but to nourish the life of the Son of God in him. God engineers the circumstances of His saints in order that the Spirit may use them as the praying house of the Son of God. If you are spiritual the Holy Spirit is offering up prayers in your bodily temple that you know nothing about, it is the Spirit making intercession in you. Also this……… We are to free from the wonder nowadays, too easy with the Word of God; we do not use it with the breathless amazement Paul does.
Think what sanctification means——Christ in me; made like Christ; as HE is, so are we. I think sometimes we get going like a gerbils in a cage and we need to stop and smell the roses as that old Mac Davis song says, and soak in the amazement of GOD!
Here are our praise notes as we have been praying for Gwen and Tim………Remember Jannetta keeps a diary of all our prayer needs at the web site http://www.deweydailyscup.com/ Do you keep a dairy of all your prayers?
I would suggest doing it so you can look back at God’s work.
Hi Dewey, Gwen here again. After asking for prayer to move up my appt., I called yesterday and was able to move it closer by 3 weeks, and I called again today, and it was moved up another week. That’s a definite Praise the Lord. Many thanks to all who have been praying for me, especially since we don’t have a church family right now. Keep praying for me that this will be resolved. God bless, Gwen Dewey, What a miracle! Just to share what God does…remember Tim, who was in an induced coma due to brain swelling after a horrific motorcycle accident!
Well, praise God and thank HIM dearly as you read this: “Another outstanding day for Tim, they removed his trach and they gave him his helmet. Tim works with his therapist daily, this afternoon when I arrived they put him in the wheel chair and rolled him down to the gym. Tim stood up out of his chair and walked about 10 feet, sat down to rest a minute then stood up and walked back. It was amazing I cried with joy! He did most of it by himself with little support. Way to go Tim soon you will be walking to the gym! ~ Love ya!!!” IT’S A MIRACLE! Love, Karen
It is such a blessing to give to you these two reports…….We have been having many praise reports! Please spread the word about our Prayer Ministry. One more thing from Oswald this morning that fit’s right in with the mission of the Daily Cup…..A mission that was brought t me by the Lord……….. True enjoyment is not what we do but in our relationships. If a man is true to God, everything between birth and death will work out on the line of joy. If we bank on what we do, whether it is good or bad, we are off track; the one thing that matters is personal relationship.
WOW!
We had such a wonderful time of fun last night on New Mexico News and Views with the Celtic Band, “The Next Chapter”. Yes CLAUS and her husbands first name is KRIS!!!! We had a lot of fun in the LORD! Sharon and I are going to try and make it to Heights on Dec. 14th!!!! Once again we proved that Christians can have fun too!!!!!
Don’t forget that Shona and Karen start their new programs Saturday morning on KKIM. 7:30 Shona kicks it off and then Karen at 7:45. Of course at 8:05 Dr. Deb Gunderman! So we now have an 1 1/2 of Women’s programming on KKIM Saturday mornings!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! Welcome to HOPE IN TODAY with Karen Rowe!
I say with because Hope In Today is made possible BY God…I am just with those who listen or read what I write or say! God is so good and HE loves us so much!!! I am not perfect and that is why I believe that God has me doing this show. Hope in Today is a show that I talk about placing our hope in Jesus in all things. I can do nothing on my own, but I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. This is a shout of Praise to God! The LORD revealed to me that OUR HOPE IS JESUS in ALL things… In Jesus we have hope and the LORD revealed to me that when we live in Jesus as our hope…we are made to be Heavenly Ordained People Everyday! Not by our own merit of good works, but because of what Jesus did for you and me… God has blown my mind away with all of this. I am a very simple person who happens to have great faith, but I am weak, just like the rest of us! WE STILL NEED JESUS! The LORD revealed to me as I was struggling with doing this show…”I know that you are not strong, but I will be with you!” And HE has!!! God opened this door up to share a message to encourage us all to live in the hope that Jesus offers. We are not held down by circumstances, we are lifted above all things through Christ who gives me strength! Is there anything too BIG for God? God gives us HOPE…Jesus is our HOPE…nothing is impossible in JESUS. I have to shout a huge praise to God today…as always…because what God does for me…God can do for you! Hope in Today is a blessing…a gift from God and I am blessed because God is so strong in my heart to do this. I speak the words, but it is the work of the Holy Spirit who will do the rest. Hope believes for good things in spite of obvious obstacles… because of faith. Is anything too big for God? AND… HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!! We are blessed to have Jesus! We are blessed to have hope above all human limitations! We are blessed that God is our Father whom we can call on in all things! Hope is free; Faith is free and the Power of God is free to work in our life when we just have hope in Jesus as our LORD and Savior. Love in Christ, Karen Rowe

A Different Christmas Poem
The embers glowed softly,
and in their dim light,I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn’t quite know,
Then thesure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
“What are you doing?” I asked without fear,
“Come in this moment, it’s freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!”
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire’s light
Then he sighed and he said “Its really all right, I’m out here by choice.
I’m here every night.””It’s my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I’m proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ‘Pearl on a day in December,
“Then he sighed, “That’s a Christmas ‘Gram always remembers.”
dad stood his watch in the jungles of ‘Nam’,
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I’ve not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he’s sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue… an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.”
“So go back inside,” he said, “harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I’ll be all right.””
But isn’t there something I can do,
at the least,”Give you money,” I asked,
“or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you’ve done,
For being away from your wife and your son.”
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
“Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we’re gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.”

THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS…. In 1959, the founders of the old American Football League including Al Davis, Lamar Hunt, and various sports and financial people met to finalize their plans for the new league. The meetings began with a banquet which featured Nicky Hilton as the speaker. Expectations were heightened when he was introduced as having recently made $100,000 in the baseball business in the city of Los Angeles . Mr. Hilton stood to thunderous applause. He began by saying that he needed to correct what had been said about him. It was not he who had that experience but his brother Baron. And it wasn’t in Los Angeles , but San Diego . And it wasn’t $100,000; it was $1,000,000…and he didn’t make it, he lost it! Reality sometimes takes the wind out of enthusiasm. I often feel that I need to make a few corrections about Christmas. Christmas is not about… But it is about… Santa Claus Jesus Scrooge King Herod Bing Crosby & carolers A heavenly host “Miracle on 34th Street ” Miracle in Bethlehem “It’s a Wonderful Life” Eternal life Toys R Us God with Us Smell of turkey and dressings Smell of straw and manure White Christmas Brown dirt Christmas cards the angel Gabriel Presents from Dillards and WalMart Gold, frankincense and myrrh Decorations and mistletoe Swaddling clothes Electric lights by the thousands One solitary star! A Christmas tree A Cross on a hill The thing is: it is all about Jesus. If you get it right about Jesus at Christmas (as well as the rest of life), then you get everything else right. Christmas traditions and fun are not unimportant; they are certainly not the most important thing. Some of us will be spending Christmas away from family. We may miss out on what “Christmas is not about” but we know the true story.Have a Joyful Christmas SeasonFrank (The Old Texan) Haley cjf Isa. 9:6″When the sunshine of God’s love meets the showers of our sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears.”
May The Strength and Peace of Our LORD be with you and yours…….. Dewey Sharon and Family
