Good Day KKIM Family,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Glad to have you with us today!
I hope people like Merry and Janetta, who never get time off had a wonderful time during this Thanksgiving holiday!!!
In Peter’s Second Epistle he urges believers to keep close watch on their personal lives. The Christian life demands diligence in pursuing moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and selfless love. We are going to talk more about that today and also in our next cup. But pray over what Peter wanted us to do……..keep a close watch on our personal lives. I have to tell you this is why we have the Cup and KKIM..to help each other in our personal lives…in our daily walk with Jesus Christ. My mentor Ed Moore taught me – ago at WFRN. Ed and I always do not agree on things…….but we can be honest with each other and not pretend to agree……….more on pretending in this cup. How many times do you pretend to agree?
I got a call from my dear friend Paul Young of CRI and he wished our family a Happy Thanksgiving and told me he heard a Pastor say we should call it, “Thanksgiving Life” everyday!!!. Because we should be thankful each and everyday for our life! I think that is AWESOME!!!
Thanks to you all who called and emailed greetings to us!
We have these prayer needs……….
Please pray for my Father-In-Law Roger Altman who according to the Doctor’s is now in the final stages of Alzheimer. Please keep Roger, Sharon and her whole family in your prayers.
Please pray for Patty of Elk Grove, California……Her mother Joanne passed away Saturday and Patty has been diagnosed with cancer. Patty is Sharon’s good friend from her High School days.
A Couple of notes on prayer………
Prayer is hunger for God, and having a genuine hunger for God, and having a genuine hunger for God is the beginning of prayer. Our genuine desire to know God us an actual prayer, and genuine prayer makes us hungry for God. Genuine Prayer is GOD-hunger!!!
AMEN!!!
By the way when you have to wait in line or our sitting to be seen at an office………..flip out your cell phone and go to your directory and pray for each person on your cell phone directory.
If your like me, I still don’t have all the names in the cell phone I still use the old fashion address/phone book I carry with me every where.
When I type the cup and see all of your addresses I pray for you!!!!
When you operate in the “carnal corral”, you operate under a cloak of secrecy. You don’t want to be accountable. You don’twant anybody asking. So you cover up. I am sure many of you have seen the true story about the life of Sgt. Alvin York, starring Gary Cooper. Just google Sgt. York and you will get plenty of info.I was watching the movie once again this weekend and it came to me that what a life Sgt. York lived once he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He moved mountains in WW 1. I pray for more men and women like Sgt. York. We are desperately in need of Christian Heroes! Sharon and I would love to travel to Tennessee and view the area where Sgt. York was from. He helped build two schools after his army service in the area where he grew up. He grew up in extreme poverty. What is wrong with this picture? As Bloody scenes from India where shown on TV back here in America…………We had what is called “Black Friday”………People camping out in front of stores all night to buy “STUFF”…………We have a Wal-Mart worker trampled to death by shoppers………..We have two people shot and killed in a Toy store…………In civilized America…….First of all why in America call any day Black Friday at the start of the season when we prepare for our Saviors birthday………..and then we have people hurting each other and spending all night outside to get in line to buy what??? STUFF……..I don’t know about you…… but this makes me physically ill.I know this………..it is a huge statement on the heart and soul condition of America.
When we were kid’s we always were pretending to me fireman, or policeman, or army men………..We loved to play! But here isthe question to ponder today………… Are any of us Pretending to be a Christian???I am reading the book Chuck Swindoll wrote about David…………..As usual Swindoll does an AWESOME job………David has his bad times in his life and walks away from God………….Chuck pick’s it up from there………..David Sows the wind………As David opts for this lifestyle, the winds and storms of life begin to increase in a rather rapid movement of events.First of all, a duplicity begins to mark David’s steps. Webster says that duplicity is “deception by pretending.”You pretend to entertain one set of feelings, but you’re operating from another entirely. (Dewey comment:I think this type of behavior can be popular in Christian circles, and it prevents the people of God from moving forward) Deep inside, David is an Israelite. He will always be an Israelite. But he’s trying to make the Philistines think that he is on their side. That’s what happens when you spend your time in what a Pastor friend of mine calls the “carnal corral.” Inside, you’re a believer, buton the outside you want to look like the rest of the world. There’s a lack of absolute allegiance. This miserable dilemma creates theneed to compromise. And that’s precisely what David begins to act out.Dewey’s comments:After committing many sins David does come back to God. Our God is forever forgiving. Are you ever totally at ease with who you are?Are you ever totally in comfort with yourself?I struggle with that at times………and that’s why I pray and read God’s word daily. Like David I seek the Lord’s heart. In our daily walk with Jesus Christ we need the help of others……………surround yourself with Men and Women of God, so that we don’ttake the road that David once took. One final question…..In any parts of your life, are you pretending?
To be so quick to answer ……..Think about it……pray about it.
Here is a letter I did not get to post in our Thanksgiving posting……….it is a HUGE blessing………
Hello Dewey,Just a note to wish you and Sharon and your KKIM family a blessed Thanksgiving celebration. I especially want to thank all the men and women who teach on KKIM and bring God’s Word in faithfulness to your audience. Many are national ministries and teachers, and we so appreciate their expertise and example, but I am especially thankful for the local pastors and teachers who step out in faith to be a blessing to your listeners each day. Unless the LORD builds the house,They labor in vain who build it;Unless the LORD guards the city,The watchman stays awake in vain. — Psm. 127:1These folks do a great job letting the LORD build the house — and so do you! God bless.Pastor Don Kimbro Heights Christian Church
Host of Nuggets of Truth on KKIM weekday mornings at 7:30
Thank you Pastor Don for those words………I will always remember the words of Tom Lewis of Cross International………”It really is Praise worthy what God has done with KKIM…….such a wonderful non-denominational Radio Ministry…so many New Mexico Pastor’s involved”.
With that I will leave you until next time……Grace and Peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord………..Dewey Sharon and family
Please read your Bible Today……..Read in 2nd Peter today………
