Dear Family of Jesus,

Thanks for stopping by for a CUP! Today we have a very special guest with us, I have asked Shari Hardway Johnson of Grantsville, West Virginia to be a contributor here at the CUP from time time. I have become friends with her on Facebook and have been following her Ministry. She is a Godly writer. I also have posted a Medical Bag that has very important information on heart disease, inflammation and Cholesterol. Dr. Joe Fawcett has told me for years, it’s inflammation in our bodies that is killing us, too much focus on Cholesterol and not enough on inflammation. This post is at the bottom of this Cup. By the way, I know many of you miss the writings of Dr. Joe but he is on a new project and that is why he can’t write for us at this time. Keep him in your prayers in his new venture.

First we thought I had food poisoning but it must be the flu…..many are coming down with it here. Pastor Leonard was not feeling well yesterday. I am going to be home today resting and studying the Word of God. Pray for Sharon also she is starting to come down with it. Please pray for our whole family, let us continue to pray for each other and our families, as many of us have many challenges. I also will be praying for my sermon on Sunday at Powerhouse Fellowship in Rio Rancho, I am filling in for Pastor Jesse Dompreh. Service time is 11am, Hope to see you there if you do not have a home Church! I will be Preaching on Evangelism, carrying our the Great Commission. standing in the gap for God.

Also just got a note from Carmen Wolfe Bennett’s daughter, Kerry, that Carmen is out of intensive care and improving! Praise God! please continue to pray for Carmen.

Dear Family of Jesus,

Something to think about today…………to pray about……..to chew over……….These are the words the Lord has for me to share with you this day………

The fact that God created time reminds us of his lordship over it and our obligation to use it for His glory…..For God’s Glory Alone!

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.” Rev. 4:11

The Bible clearly requires us to believe that God created the universe out of nothing. This means that before God began to create the universe, nothing else existed except himself.

This is the implication of Genesis 1:1, which says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and earth.” The phrase “the heavens and the earth” include the entire universe.

Psalm 33 also tells us, “by the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth…..For He spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood forth” Ps. 33:6,9. In the New Testament, we find a universal statement at the beginning of John’s gospel: “All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made” John 1:3……that of course means you and mean….the sanctity of life given by God.

Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible”

When my hero Paul, I pray he is a role model for you!, When Paul is speaking to pagan Greek philosophers in Athens (picture him speaking in America today) Paul identifies the true God as “The God who made the world and everything in it” and says that this God “gives to all men life and breath and everything” Acts 17:24-25 Isa 45:18 and Rev 10:6

Let us now stop for a time…….and give Praise and Thanks to Almighty God! Sometimes we just forget what I just wrote above……….and take it all for granted or get caught up in the nothing noise of the world.

The Church the Bible Built Many years ago the Rev. Robert Burris, now 92 years of age, worked for four and one-half years as a missionary in South China. As part of his ministry he journeyed into the mountains carrying copies of the Scriptures in Chinese for distribution. In this way, although he could not speak fluent Chinese, the people were given God’s word. Toward the end of his term Mr. Burris and three companions began a 180- mile journey with 4,000 copies of the Chinese New Testament. In the first ten days about half of these New Testaments had been distributed. Then, in the remote countryside, they were stopped by five armed bandits who took everything–money, clothing, shoes— and the remaining 2,000 copies of the New Testament. Mr. Burris and friends limped home barefooted in their shirts and trousers, glad to be alive. Approximately 25 years later when Mr. Burris was the pastor of a church in Ohio, he and his wife attended a lecture with slides presented by a missionary to South China. Among the slides shown was a picture of the very place in which he had been robbed by the bandits.”Now,” the missionary said,”we come to the most important slide in my collection. I call it The Miracle Church.” The picture on the screen showed a large rough empty building.”This is The Miracle Church,” the missionary continued,”Because no one knows who started it, or how, every Sunday, 400 people attend, each with a copy of The New Testament in Chinese. No one knows were they got these New Testaments. So far as is known, no missionary or distributor ever went into these mountains which are infested with bandits and robbers. Yet today, the church is there and the people have God’s Word”. Mr. Burris smiled in gratitude. God’s Word, taken from him that day by bandits had been building it’s own church in China for 25 years. You never know how the Lord is going to use us! AMEN! What a great story!!! AMEN!!! From Ras……….. October 24, 2012. Ecclesiates 4:9-12

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

My Dear Friends I wept with so many tears when I read this PRAISE REPORT on Baby Eden who we have been praying for!

Dewey,

Eden was discharged today(Monday) and is home. We want to thank you and all who covered Eden in prayer during this difficult time; we are truly blessed with the outpouring of love and prayers.

As I reflect back at this experience I can truly say that Eden’s birth was orchestrated by God. After a routine sonogram Eden was diagnosed with gastroschisis.
Andrew and Karlie were quite distressed so JR and I decided to drive to Dallas and visit with them. We left on August 22; Eden wasn’t due till October 15th.
The following morning, August 23, Andrew called quite panicked; the Doctor’s had determined that Eden’s condition was at a point that she would have to
be delivered by C-section. They were both scared and needed their family there for support. The procedure was to take place in one hour and we were two hours away.
I began to text everyone and ask for prayer. Dewey, your immediate response to me was “Prayer Warriors praying” you also asked for my Son’s number and called and prayed with him.
Additionally you miraculously arranged for someone from “Kyle Martins team” to go over to the Baylor Hospital and pray with them; this all happened within twenty minutes of my text to you.
We couldn’t be there but God used you to arrange a proxy for us. By the time we arrived Andrew and Karlie were calm and reassured; comforted by all the prayers. Eden was in surgery; a surgery that they were told would take six hours was completed in ½ hour. Eden was in the hospital for a total of two months and during that time we knew we could always count on you for support and prayer. Thank GOD, that you, and thank all who covered Eden in prayer.

The words to the song “Healer” have never been as true as to us as they are today.

Prayer…

I got a call last night from Karen’s Daddy. Karen was taken to the Hospital because she was gasping for air. Karen suffered an overdose of heroin one year ago this past Saturday and suffered brain damage. The Doctor’s have given up. Mom and Dad have had a prayer vigil at her bedside since that first night. Her Daddy told me yesterday that he was feeling a bit defeated as he is not seeing what he has been praying for. Each day this Dad and Mom read scripture to Karen and anoint her with oil and speak life into their precious 27 year old daughter. let us cover Karen and Mommy and Daddy in our prayers. I have met Karen, she looks like she could get out of bed and walk home! Such a beautiful girl, her eyes follow you around the room and she tried to talk to me the day I was there visiting her and her Mom and dad. Karen just got in with the wrong people for a short time in her life. This is one reason the Lord has me doing what I am doing, to bring comfort to individual’s and families.
I also want to make all aware of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Many do not have a Pastor in their life but want one………….
For various reasons we have many people who love our Lord but do not have a Church, no Pastor.
I get many people emailing telling me that I am their Pastor. What we try to do here at FGGAM is line them up with a Pastor and a Church of their choice. We encourage people to pray as to what Church to attend, the Holy Spirit will lead you.
Please continue to pray for Carmen, I was with her prior to her procedure yesterday at the VA Hospital here in Albuquerque.

Yesterday after posting the pictures of Greg and Natasha’s wedding we got lovely comments….one call came in that broke my heart.
That one call from a lovely friend is a testimony to us all.
This lovely lady called to tell me how beautiful the pictures were of Greg and Natasha’s wedding were. She said I have some tragic news…….
She said, “I remember when I asked you to marry me and my husband to be and you said you would have to meet him and we would plan pre-marital counseling. I now regret that we did not do this as my husband would not meet with you and now after just 8 months we are getting a divorce as he has left me.”
She is just crushed………When a man or women does not want to meet with a Pastor and go through pre-marital counseling it is a red flag. Our friend now knows this, she was taking this man at his word. It is the Godly duty of a Pastor to help people prepare for marriage……marriage is a prepared holy matter….are you prepared for the sanctity of marriage?
Our society is dumbing down marriage, it is watering down the sanctity of marriage, it is basically destroying the sanctity of marriage for what God intended it to be. The same is true with the Word of God.
I know that God put me here at FGGAM to stand in the gap for HIM and HIS Word.
Let me be clear on this:
From the beginning, the Scriptures state that Satan has challenged God on His purposes for marriage.
Satan’s opposition is focused on Independence from God. Please read Isaiah 14: 12-14 and Ezekiel 28: 12-18
Read Genesis 3: 1-6
God created mankind and placed them in the middle of this spiritual battle.
Because mankind willfully chose independence from God, there have been at least three consequences man suffered throughout history.
1. The image of God in humanity has been defaced.
2. Marital companionship has been threatened by:
Shame
Guilt
Fear
Blame Shifting
Battle for control
A Godly legacy has been challenged by a Godless legacy.
Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. Genesis 4:8
Satan’s purposes are threatened by couples who are becoming one; therefor, Satan concentrates his major attacks on them.
Please let this soak in……….
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12

Let us pray for marriages……….the sanctity of marriage.

A Special Town Called Mayberry

“Mayberry”

Mayberry was the fictitious town from the Andy Griffith series and the home town of Gomer Pyle in Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.
Unlike today, in Mayberry everyone knew your name and everyone respected their neighbor. It was a much slower pace of life where family life and friends were of utmost importance. People respected each other and took responsibility for their actions and their lives.

People worked hard and enjoyed simple pleasures. They participated in many social events together.
There might be a town pot-luck supper where everyone came and brought good homemade food. The evening would be spent enjoying the meal and engaging in fellowship with friends and neighbors. There was no spending the day alone with a TV, computer or video game.
When there was a problem these honest, hardworking people would all pitch in the resolve it. Even if there had been such a thing, there was no need for anyone to go to a gym. Everyday life involved plenty of physical exercise.
Andy Griffith was the sheriff of the town located somewhere in rural North Carolina. As sheriff he did not carry a gun instead relying on the respect of the people for him and not for a weapon. Can you imagine a sheriff today relying on respect and not carrying a weapon?
When not working Andy could be found fishing or maybe playing his guitar and singing with friends. Andy’s aunt took care of Andy and his son and they lived in the same household. It was not unusual in that time for extended families to live together. Today families are spread out all over the world and some of the closeness from several decades ago has been lost.
We live today in a much different society than the one found in Mayberry years ago. We’ve gone through war, assassination of a president, trips to space, less importance placed on the family units, and less importance placed on religious values. We now also have news coverage 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Life today is at a much faster pace.
Maybe we yearn for the much slower and seemingly more civil days from the time of Mayberry. We didn’t live back there and this fictitious town and its people are remembered with great fondness. People didn’t have to work many, many hours a week at a job to try and keep up. Who is to say if the time we remember was really a better way of life than the one we have now. Looking back with rose colored glasses it sure seemed like a more pleasant time.
The Bicycle Daddy Made

I didn’t know bikes sold in stores in shiny red and blue;

My bike was made of junk yard parts my daddy sorted through.

My brother and my sisters all had bikes that Daddy also made;

And learning to ride my own bike was something that I craved.

My Daddy promised me a bike when I reached six years old;

As that birthday loomed ahead, my begging grew more bold.

Finally he went to the basement to build a bike for me,

Using all those rusted parts he picked up nearly free.

The bike he built was very large for a little girl like me;

So I had to learn while standing up, but how hard could that be?

With staunch determination, I tried and took a fall,

And wished with all my little heart that bike was not so tall;

But in time I learned to stand and ride which made my daddy proud

Of how I took those many falls and never cried out loud.

My bike was balanced perfectly and I could ride, “no hands”

After I grew tall enough to sit instead of stand.

The bike was never shiny and it really wasn’t “new”

But it taught a little girl to have fun while “making do”.
