Dear KKIM Family,
How are you on this wonderful Sunday?
I would love to share with you some of my reading today……….
President Lincoln said this in his Gettysburg Address:
“The war was a test whether the nation conceived in 1776 “might live” or would “perish from the earth.”
Those words of President Lincoln fit the United States of America today………more than many would want to believe.
The Unites States of America as we knew it as Children and Adults is passing away each day……
We are undergoing a test here in 2010…………
Pastors are also undergoing a test of God’s Word…………
One of the Lord’s greatest servants, D.L. Moody writes………..
Does a messenger, who has been sent by God, have any right to change the message?
If I had sent a servant to deliver a message, and the servant thought the message didn’t sound exactly right———-maybe, in his eyes, it seemed a little harsh—–and that servant went and changes the message, I would change servants very quickly; he could not serve me any longer. Likewise, when a minister or a messenger of Christ begins to change the message, because he thinks it is not exactly what should be and he thinks he is wiser than God, God just dismisses that man.
Words of wisdom from two of the greatest Americans ever to live Lincoln and Moody!
The Holy Spirit must be with our Pastors……The Holy Spirit must be with us all……..We must receive the Holy Spirit into our lives…….
This is why I am writing to you today…….because the Holy Spirit moved upon me to share these words with you. These words are not mine, but mine to share at the Will of God.
Moody writes………
Some people have the idea that the Holy Spirit is an attribute of God, just as mercy is an attribute of God. They think the Spirit is just an influence coming from God. But we find these words in the fourteenth chapter of John: “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (v.16) Note that it says, “That he may abide with you for ever.”
And the following verse reads:
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:17
Again, in the twenty-sixth verse of the same chapter we find:
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Observe the pronouns “he” and “him.” I want to call attention to this fact, that whenever Christ spoke of the Holy Spirit, he spoke of Him as a person, not as mere influence. If we want to honor the Holy Spirit, let us bear in mind that He is one of the Trinity, a personality of the Godhead.
AMEN! AMEN! PRAISE GOD!
I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as I write this to you………I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit my messenger from God………To guide me in EVERYTHING I DO……
In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
