[UPDATE: 9:30am PT/2-8-13]—RICHARD TWISS UPDATE: The Twiss family would like to thank everyone for all the love and prayers. Richard is on full life support for his heart and lungs. Right now the doctors are neither optimistic nor pessimistic about the situation, but they agree it is a serious situation. They are going to keep him sedated for a couple of days, at which time will be able to determine the extent of any damage. Continue to pray and we will update more [later].
PRAYER CHAIN FOR RICHARD TWISS: Because the next 72 hours are critical, we’ve set up a 72 hour prayer chain for Richard Twiss. Please click this link and let us know which hour you will take to pray for Richard each day over the next three days. Thank you Lisa Harper.

February 7 , 2013 Urgent Prayer Alert for Native American Leader Richard Twiss, Founder of Wiconi International Note from Steve Shultz: I just found out today that my friend Richard Twiss suffered a major heart attack yesterday while in Washington DC. Please keep him and his family in prayer at this time as he is in ICU on support systems and the next few days are critical for him. Please read the following and let’s pray fervently for this mighty warrior in the Church, Richard Twiss -Steve Shultz, Founder and Publisher of The Elijah List and Breaking Christian News Richard Twiss, Native American Leader in the Church and founder of Wiconi International, suffered a massive heart attack yesterday while in Washington DC. He was scheduled to attend a series of meetings around the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. Richard had emergency surgery to clear a blood clot in a main heart artery and is currently on support systems for his heart and lungs. The next 48-72 hours are critical. According to his ministry’s Facebook page, Wiconi International: “He is in the ICU after a long night of intense surgery and being closely watched by a team of medical staff all night. It is still too soon to say anything solid for sure, due to this being a very delicate time frame. All we know for sure is that God is in control. Keep Praying. More updates to come.” Dr. Richard Twiss is President of Wiconi International, located in Vancouver, WA, and is committed to “Creating opportunities for the betterment of our Native People and Communities through advancing education, culture, family and spirituality – in the Spirit of Jesus..” He is a widely traveled and popular speaker, activist, educator, author and networker among innovative thinkers within the Native North American and Indigenous community internationally. Let us be in constant prayer.
For many months we have been praying for Karen. About a year and a half ago Karen suffered an overdose of heroin. She remains in a nursing home with a feeding tube. She is just 27 years of age. Her Dad called me yesterday tired but faithful in our Lord. He is with Karen much of the day having closed his business and Karen’s Mother comes after her work. I feel the pain Mom and Dad are going through. The Lord has not forsaken Mom or Dad, or Karen, God is working in their lives and the lives of many, like myself. The Doctor’s have told Mom and Dad there is no hope. Mom and Dad know there is a greater hope….God. All this is settled in heaven! AMEN! God is working all out here on earth for His purposes in the lives of many.
What the Lord has shown me through a break through in the life of Sharon and myself…..and the testimony of Karen Rowe who has been healed of cancer……..is the Lord’s Prayer………
It has what I will call a NEW MEANING TO ME!
Years ago God told me clear as a bell that HE had shut the door on a matter……but the matter continued here on earth for His purposes.
Settled in heaven but God is working things out on earth for His purposes.
Read the Lord’s Prayer…………
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.
Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven! AMEN! I want to encourage you this day to take great comfort in our Lord that all is settled in heaven!!!!! Let us pray Thy will be done on earth. Let us be in constant prayer, as Paul teaches us, let us be attentive to the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let us hear the Lord. This is the most amazing communication! I have learned not to make a move or speak a word without the movement of the Holy Spirit, do I still make mistakes? YES! Especially when I am tired and have had many visits with hurting people. That is why we must rest in our Lord, to be refreshed!
We are also praying for Jess and family out of Chimayo who lost her dog Nugget to cancer on Thursday. Nugget was very special to the family as Jess was not able to have children and Nugget was so very special to the family.
Our daughter, Gretchen had four wisdom teeth removed yesterday and is recovering in an AWESOME way. Thank YOU LORD!
Please pray for a couple that I will be doing marriage counseling with this day.
Let me end our Saturday visit with you with this inspiring note from Sandy!!!!
Hi Dewey!
Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes! Last year when Steve and I were on our 25th anniversary trip, we spent the day with a group of people on a tour. One couple was there on their honeymoon and everyone congratulated them. When they found out that we were celebrating 25 years of marriage, everyone commented that people get married every day but not many people STAY married. In a time where divorce is so prominent and seems to be the easy way out, I think it so important to celebrate all of those who have chosen to make marriage a commitment. Many blessings to you and Sharon today!
