Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Thanks for stopping by for a Christmas CUP! AMEN!
“You are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes” (James 4:14). O to feel the true proportion. Time:Eternity.
I am thankful for this time with you! I just love the simple pleasure of getting up in the morning and making coffee, feeding Buffy Anne and Reno, glance at the morning newspaper, then I go into prayer and reading. Then I start the CUP! It is in the simple things that the true meaning of life is truly appreciated. I find that God speaks to me through these simple things.
A pastor’s wife said to me awhile back as we ate lunch after Church, “Dewey you sure appreciate the simple things in life.” I was commenting on how good the fried chicken was, I probably mentioned it a few times! LOL LOL! Let us appreciate the simple things in life and not take them for granted. Our society as a whole, takes too much for granted. The world needs to take a big deep breath and exhale, and appreciate God. The verse above of James 4:14 needs to be soaked in this day.
Pastor Bill Ruhl’s check up yesterday went very well! PRAISE GOD! Bill and Monica thank you for your prayers!
The Whisper of God
Thought for the Day: “If you look back at the times that you worked hard to achieve something or get somewhere you wanted to go, you will find there were certain unexpected things that happened that helped you along the way to success: a stranger lending a hand, a door being opened, a roadblock being removed… These unexplained events become explainable when you realize it was the hand of God moving through your life helping you achieve success. Take some time to celebrate your victories and be thankful for His help.” I hope you have a fantastic day today my friends! – Elmer Laydon
“May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God.” (Psalm 20:5 NIV)
This morning I ask all of us to once again pray for all those hurting at this time. I was counseling until 4am this morning. There is a great need for us to make ourselves available to God’s people. yesterday I traveled to Santa Fe to meet with long time friend John Belew. John stated just as I have been saying for months, “God is calling us all out to do more for His people.”
We have always had people in extra need during Christmas, but due to the state of affairs in this Country, the need is greater than ever. People are staved for the TRUTH! So many people are searching for something to hang onto! Will they latch onto drugs? Alcohol? or God? God is calling us to stand in the gap for Him, do you hear Him calling you?
Yesterday a National Ministry, Shari Johnson, posted our TV program on facebook. It is the program where I talk with Rick Griffin about his son’s addiction to heroin, and how God and family turned that situation around. People need to hear this information, it is available at our web site www.fggam.org ;
We must leave our comfort zones of secular security.
I repeat this from yesterdays CUP, I am known on the radio, TV, and the CUP and in conversations for repeating myself…..that is because, that is how I teach and have learned. What I have found is that people need basic training, and simple approaches and repeating of messages. I also am the Capitalization King of the World, people say why do you capitalize things that should not be capitalized? LOL ……well I write like I talk on the radio and TV…..Things need to stand out for emphasis! LOL LOL LOL
Let us repeat these postings………
Where and how we spend our time is what we become! Where and how are you spending your time?
Paul Dokken sent this verse in, I think we are there Brother Paul………
Amos 8:11
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord,“when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.
“What is it going to be? My way or Christ’s way?” AW Tozer
Even when imaginary fears slip in like the morning frost to blight our faith, God is there—in charge and in control. Chuck Swindoll I just love that quote! What a message!
God is with us……Pastor Ray Franks shared with me a sermon he wrote based out of Zephaniah 3:14-20

says the Lord.
In Pastor Ray’s sermon he states: Zephaniah tells us that God will give us whatever we need. The problem is that we’re so materialistic , when we hear a statement like that we often think of “things”
I have learned that that it makes no difference how few or how many “things” I have, there are needs in my life that only God can meet. Needs that are so important that when there met, my interest in “things” fades away. AMEN AMEN!!!!
A great lesson from Pastor Ray Franks, God takes care of us by giving us that which we need the most!
I have come to find at age 56 what Pastor Ray just shared…is so very true!
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.'” – Matthew 19:14
The Heart of a Child
Matthew 18:4 “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like one of these children is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
When we are children there’s a part of us that is open to love, and faith and trust.
Through a little child’s laughter and teary eyes we grow older and that part of us dies.
Innocence lost, is so hard to regain.
We get forgiven but hold on to the pain.
But Jesus said to the crowd roaring wild; “Come to me with the heart of a child.”
It’s so hard to open ourselves up to others, we’re afraid to trust our own sisters and brothers.
But there is a love so costly and dear, a love strong enough to cast out fear.
Let’s take off our masks and drop the facade and live like the children of the Living God.
Take a chance, you may be betrayed if you risk it all but He’ll be there to catch you when you slip and fall.
There’s a holy laughter, and tears so pure, there’s an innocence that will always endure.
There’s a dream and vision, an endless sea, the tingling of life in a heart set free.
Nothing to prove, no possessions to hold but a joy and peace more precious than gold.
It’s a beautiful place, fiery and wild when we return to the heart of the child.
Remember that our Father to whom we pray considers us His children each day and like little children we must learn to rely on the love of our Father who reigns on high.
So much prejudice to forget and unlearn, it’s the heart of the child for which we yearn.
We can’t enter heaven with a heart defiled, it must change through Jesus to the heart of the child.
Merry Christmas!
