One of my favorite scriptures.

My Mom and I would always share a birthday, but I got most of the attention. My Mom, Ruth passed onto heaven in Jan. of 1995. My birthday of course is on July 4th, Mom’s July 5th. I found Mom’s confirmation booklet and certificate from the Bethany Lutheran Church of Bergen, Minnesota dated Nov. 5th 1946.

The prayer in the booklet for morning time prayer is this…………

I give thanks unto Thee, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ Thy dear Son, that Thou hast protected me through the night from all danger and harm; and I beseech Thee to preserve and keep me, this day also, from all sin and evil; that in all my thoughts, words, and deeds, I may serve and please Thee. Into Thy hands I commend my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let Thy holy angel have charge concerning me, that the wicked one have no power over me. AMEN!

My Mom has one of the most marked up Bibles you have ever seen! I get worried when I see people’s Bibles that are unmarked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My prayer for all of us is that the evil one has no power over us! AMEN!

I also want to thank Ernie and Cathy Belanger, Dear, Dear friends of this Ministry who are paying for the airtime!

I also had the extreme privilege of helping my Dear, Dear Friend and mentor David Standridge do some voice over work for his campaign for Family Court Judge. I am very, very careful about endorsing and campaigning for anyone, I have not done it much at all. I am just very careful. But with David, I have seen first hand how this man of God works, how he has served so many families in his work as an attorney. He is more than qualified to be a Judge for the family Court. He should be our Attorney General!!!! God is raising up Men and Women to represent us, and David Standridge is certainty one of those, and I am blessed to be part of his campaign. I have known David for almost 12 years.

I also this morning am making my endorsement of Janice Arnold Jones for Congress official. I have known Janice for almost 7 years now. She has grown in her faith, she has talked about it on air, Janice is very open on her walk with Jesus Christ. She has always been available to me on the radio to shed light on the challenges of the state of New Mexico and our Nation. Janice is a very kind hearted person. There are not enough Public officials like Janice, who know Finances and know how to make a budget stick!

The bottom line with David and Janice, is they have always been honest with me, the good and the bad.

I Praise God that I am surrounded by many Godly Men and Women like YOU!!!!!!!!!!! yes YOU!

Please pray for Dear, Dear friend Kay Hendrickson and her awful back problem. She is in much pain.

The Incredible Edible Egg! 
A new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition supports consuming eggs in moderation after finding no evidence that eggs increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
 
The researchers studied the association between egg consumption and cardiovascular disease in 21,327 participants from the Physicians’ Health Study.  The end result of the study found that egg consumption was not associated with incident heart attack or stroke.  Source: American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Vol. 87, No. 4, 964-969, April 2008.
 
I’ve been an avid supporter of the incredible edible egg.  But, eating the right type of egg is important.  Organic, free range eggs should be the egg of choice.  Standard commercial eggs come from hens that are cooped up in boxes and fed chemically sprayed grains.  This changes the chemical composition of the egg.  One of the greatest misconceptions in the health industry is that eating foods with high cholesterol will increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.  The liver is responsible for approximately 90-95% of your daily cholesterol production.  
 
Eating cholesterol foods do not have as great an impact on cholesterol as promoted.  An egg contains about 210 mg of cholesterol.  Dietary causes of increased cholesterol are the over consumption of processed meats, grains, and sugars.  Additionally these foods have all been shown to stimulate an immune response in the body.  Interestingly enough, these immune responses are lessened by the formation of cholesterol.  That being said, cholesterol is increased during times of immune distress to help the body not to hurt it.
 
Think about that last sentence for a minute.  If elevated cholesterol helps the immune system, does lowering cholesterol with medications create immune system dysfunction.  A number of studies support this to be the case.  Additionally, a number of studies have concluded that elevated cholesterol is not as great a risk factor for heart disease as is promoted.  As a matter of fact, studies have proven that people with the lowest cholesterol have a higher mortality rate (die sooner)!
 
Below are some of the benefits of cholesterol
 
– Cholesterol helps the immune system to fight infections
– Cholesterol is a precursor to the hormones estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, and testosterone.
– Cholesterol allows brain cells to form synapses (bridges that help brain cells communicate with each other.)

Today my Dear friend Chris McCullah from Bakersfield California shares with us on Calvinism and Arminianism, but first let us have Mary Fairchild share on this debate that is on going in the Church…………

One of the most potentially divisive doctrinal debates in the history of the church centers around the opposing doctrines of salvation known as Calvinism and Arminianism.

Calvinism is based on the theological beliefs and teaching of John Calvin (1509-1564), a leader in the Reformation, and Arminianism is based on the views of Dutch theologian Jacobus Arminius (1560-1609).
After studying under John Calvin’s son-in-law in Geneva, Jacobus Arminius started out as a strict Calvinist. Later, as a pastor in Amsterdam and professor at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, Arminius’ studies in the book of Romans led to doubts and rejection of many Calvinistic doctrines.
In summary, Calvinism centers on the supreme sovereignty of God, predestination, the total depravity of man, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and the perseverance of the saints.
Arminianism emphasizes conditional election based on God’s foreknowledge, man’s free will through prevenient grace to cooperate with God in salvation, Christ’s universal atonement, resistible grace, and salvation that can potentially be lost.
So what exactly does all this mean? The easiest way to understand the differing doctrinal views is to compare them side by side:

Calvinism & Arminianism Compared

God’s Sovereignty

  • Calvinism – God’s sovereignty is unconditional, unlimited, and absolute. All things are predetermined by the good pleasure of God’s will. God foreknew because of his own planning.
  • Arminianism – God has limited his control in correspondence with man’s freedom and response. God’s decrees are associated with his foreknowledge of man’s response.

Man’s Depravity

  • Calvinism – Because of the Fall, man is totally depraved and dead in his sin. Man is unable to save himself and, therefore, God must initiate salvation.
  • Arminianism – Because of the Fall, man has inherited a corrupted, depraved nature. Through “prevenient grace,” God removed the guilt of Adam‘s sin. Prevenient grace is defined as the preparatory work of the Holy Spirit, given to all, enabling a person to respond to God’s call of salvation.

Election

  • Calvinism – Before the foundation of the world, God unconditionally chose some to be saved. Election has nothing to do with man’s future response.
  • Arminianism – Election is based on God’s foreknowledge of those who would believe in him through faith. In other words, God elected those who would choose him of their own free will. Conditional election is based on man’s response.

Christ’s Atonement

  • Calvinism – Jesus Christ died to save only those who were given to him (elected) by the Father in eternity past. Since Christ did not die for everyone, but only for the elect, his atonement is wholly successful.
  • Arminianism – Christ died for everyone. The Savior’s atoning death provided the means of salvation for the entire human race. Christ’s atonement, however, is effective only for those who believe.

Grace

  • Calvinism – While God extends his common grace to all mankind, it is not sufficient to save anyone. Only God’s irresistible grace can draw the elect to salvation and make a person willing to respond. This grace cannot be obstructed or resisted.
  • Arminianism – Through the preparatory (prevenient) grace given to all by the Holy Spirit, man is able to cooperate with God and respond in faith to salvation. Through prevenient grace, God removed the effects of Adam‘s sin. Because of “free will” men are also able to resist God’s grace.

Man’s Will

  • Calvinism – All men are totally depraved, and this depravity extends to the entire person, including the will. Except for God’s irresistible grace, men are entirely incapable of responding to God on their own.
  • Arminianism – Because prevenient grace is given to all men by the Holy Spirit, and this grace extends to the entire person, all people have free will.

Perseverance

  • Calvinism – Believers will persevere in salvation because God will see to it that none will be lost. Believers are secure in the faith because God will finish the work he began.
  • Arminianism – By the exercise of free will, believers can turn away or fall away from grace and lose their salvation.
It’s important to note that all of the doctrinal points in both theological positions have a biblical foundation, which is why the debate has been so divisive throughout church history.

Christian denominations disagree over which points are correct, rejecting all or some of either system of theology, leaving most believers with a mixed perspective. Because both Calvinism and Arminianism deal with concepts that go far beyond human comprehension, the debate is certain to continue as finite beings try to explain an infinitely mysterious God.

Stones & Ripples – God’s View of the Living Water of Christianity
Picture with me, if you will, a large body of water. The surface is smooth, calm, endless. You can feel a sense of peace in that water, a fullness of nourishment, and life-giving substance. This body of water holds promise. This body of water is Christianity, made up of the Living Water which is Jesus Christ. In this Living Water is all that Jesus promised us with the words He spoke, and which were recorded for us in the Bible. In John 4:14, Jesus says, “But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.”
Now add to this image two people, each standing at opposite ends of this body of water. Both hold massive boulders in hand. One boulder is marked “Calvinism” and the other is marked “Arminianism.” In one motion, both people hurl their boulders into the waters of Christianity, their argument of point-of-view, hoping to make an impression. The boulders land in the water with a mighty splash, and the ripples of their arguments spread across the surface of the water. Where the two waves of ripples meet, there is nothing but a maelstrom of turbulence. Gone are the smooth, peaceful waters. Instead, a stormy sea of uncertainty. Trying to keep our heads above these arguments serves no purpose. We are lost in the fight to determine which course of action is the correct one. While treading water, we lose our purpose, and our sense of place in Christianity. We take our eyes off the One who calmed the seas with a single word.
Have you been caught in the midst of this fight?
I do not want to mire this article in the pros and cons of each side, and therefore join the problem. Instead, I want to offer a differing viewpoint, a “third” view, if you will. As Christians, we are taught that Jesus is the Son of God, fully man, and fully God. We accept that as we accept no other truth of the Gospel. With that Truth, we also accept that Jesus was born of a virgin. We take that incredible and utterly impossible fact, that the Holy Spirit conceived within Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was the result, our Creator, incarnate on earth as a man. The fact that Jesus was both completely man and completely God is a paradox, to quote a pastor friend of mine. A paradox is, according to Webster’s, “one (as a person, situation, or action) having seemingly contradictory qualities or phases.” Wouldn’t that be an apt description of our God? There are many occurrences in the Bible where unbelievers point out that God seems to contradict Himself. Why else would He write in His ten commandments, “Do not murder,” and then later in the Bible, command the Israelites to kill every member of a certain tribe, and leave none standing? Why would God do this? Isn’t it because God is, as stated by Paul, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!” (Romans 11:33) Paul himself, one of the most noted authorities on the teachings of Christ, does not fully understand God’s ways. How, then, can we?
So when God says that we have been elected, pre-destined, according to His good pleasure of His will, why do we fret over it? God chose us before all time. God knew us before He created us, and yet He created us anyway! He knew we would choose to sin. He created us anyway. He knew we would lose our relationship with Him, and He created us anyway! Think about that! Why would God let us destroy that link, that connection, that relationship with Him in worship? Because He loves us! God loved us from the very beginning. He wants us involved in His life. He planned the salvation we would need to come back to Him. That salvation is Jesus. Salvation is God’s plan for us. Salvation redeemed that broken relationship. That was what God saved us from… separation from Him! Here on earth, if we are not saved, we are separated from Him! We don’t need hell to be separated from Him, because we are born separated by our very human nature. What we are saved from is continued separation. God draws us back to Him, through His Son, Jesus, given in grace and love to a world of mankind that God created. Yes, we were elected. He chose us! And in His love, he gave us the free will, that freedom of choice, to say “yes” when He invites us back to Him. The Bible is clear that salvation is a drawing of us by the Father to Him. He initiates the salvation experience. Remember, that “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9) The phrase “not from yourselves” means that you did nothing to save yourself, or to find salvation. Jesus paid the penalty of sin on the cross, because He was the only One qualified to do it. We couldn’t pay the price, because we—all of mankind—are steeped in sin. Jesus was sinless.
We will never know all the facets of God, how He works, why certain things are the way they are. We’re limited in our vision, and our view. So why do we spend so much time arguing over how God works? It’s not for us to know. Instead, we should be steadfastly focused on our relationship to Him. That is what Jesus died for. How we got into Jesus’ arms was by God’s design. I’m thankful I heard Him when He called. He has been talking to me ever since. And to you, my friends. Have we been listening? It’s easier to hear, when we are quiet and calm, and allowing the Living Water of Jesus to flow through us day by day.

What Happens in Heaven When We Pray?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, “This is the Receiving Section”. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.” I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. “This is the Acknowledgment Section, my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed.” How is it that there is no work going on here? I asked.

“So sad,” the angel sighed. “After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments”

“How does one acknowledge God’s blessings? ” I asked.

“Simple,” the angel answered. Just say, “Thank you, Lord.”

“What blessings should they acknowledge?” I asked.

“If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.”

“And if you received this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.”

“If you woke up this morning with more health than illness…You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. ”

“If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation … You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.”

“If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.”

“If your parents are still alive and still married …you are very rare.”

“If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair…”

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

July 9, 2012. Frustration has captured you. The problem makes your head ache and causes much anxiety. The problem is there but also the reaction to the problem is there. You want the problem to go away but thus far it hasn’t. You have expressed yourself in what you know as truth. You have talked with Me about it. There is nothing further you can do about the situation except continue praying, and you are doing that. Now leave it with Me. Show compassion and help bear the burden, but bring the burden to Me. Don’t carry it yourself.  Your enemy would like to make everyone involved miserable. Blame is his game. Don’t play.

July 9, 2012. Pride is keeping you from receiving some help for yourself. You are quick to offer assistance to others in their time of need. Yet, you are unwilling to humble yourself and ask for help in regard to things piling up where you are. Speak to others about the pressing needs you have. In doing so, be willing to receive the help they offer you. You are not the only one who does things with care and concern. In fact, others may have much more knowledge than you about your need and thus lighten your load considerably. Do not let selfish pride keep you overwhelmed, discouraged and entangled any longer. Repent.
