Dewey’s Daily Cup
Some thoughts upon which to ponder as we go through this day, the day the Lord has made
We are body, soul and spirit! Our Body screams what it feels, but our spirit knows the Word. Our Soul has a choice. Our soul has a choice who to believe and follow ~ Our body that feels or our God Whom has Spoken the Truth!
READING the WORD of GOD RENEWS OUR MIND with God’s Mind.
Jude 1:20 Build yourself up in YOUR most Holy faith and Pray in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Where will you focus Today?
As you step out into your day, did you start it out by looking toward the cross, to God’s Kingdom or did you look at yourself and start the day on your own?
God desires us to begin each day in His love, so when we are facing that temptation, that trial that tribulation-We already have our minds with God.
In Philippians 4:10-13 Paul shared that he knows what it is like to be in need, what it is like to have plenty, yet the real secret to being truly comforted is to know that he could do all things through God- that nothing would be impossible if it is with and along God’s will For Him.
As the day opens up, know that Christ will be walking with you, and in every trial or tribulation know that God will ease your burden.
In all things God wants us to Rejoice and be glad.
Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. Amen
There can be times when our minds are in Doubt, Times when we ask what are faith is about, but we can believe Him ~ We know He cares – our God is Real, as the Bible declares.
Philippians 4:10-20, John 20:24-30
One of my favorite passages in the Bible is found in Matthew 6:25-34, in which Jesus discusses worry and faith:
Matthew 6:25-34
New International Version (NIV)
Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
What use is it for us to worry over things when God is in control and is ready to give us everything we need? God is our Father, and like any father He is always giving us good things and those that we need.
It would be well to ponder these two messages through the day as we go about our father’s business.
By the way, you are invited to join Karen, Randal and myself each morning at 4:00 a.m. Central time and at 5:00 Eastern Time for Outrageous Worship Time on our Facebook page. Merely type in Outrageous Worship and you’ll come to the right page. We have a lot of fun and worship time with good worship music to get the day going right. You’re welcome to join us. We pray with those in need too…so come as you are!
NOTE: (Outrageous Worship Time: OWT-HTTLOG, which stands for Hallelujah to the Lamb of God)
By the work of the Holy Spirit we can know we please God and then we have served HIM well. In unity, The Holy Spirit spoke this message through 3 people.
No clarification is needed on who wrote what … because the only reason it all fit together is because of the same Spirit of God who lives in us each.
God bless you on your day! May your day be joyous and full of peace! Even in the Valley, we can find Peace! We are not meant to walk alone! Sometimes it is just nice to know that others care and are with you in your walk. So we are just letting you know that we are praying for you too.
I have great faith…but still, we need to be still and know that God IS God in all things and through all times and we just need to remember that Greater is HE who lives in us than he that is in the world! And that our strength will rise as we wait upon the LORD! Anything we face we do in fact get through! Things will get better & trials make us stronger in the LORD! It may feel like you are broken, but God is raising you up! When we are weak, Jesus is still strong!
Love in Christ,

“Fat Talk” is Bad for Reaching Your Weight Loss Goals
“My rear end is big.” “I’m so fat.” “No you’re not fat, I’m fat.”
Done or heard that before? If so, you’re engaging in “fat talk,” and it’s doing nothing to help you reach a healthy weight. Those who regularly talk bad about their body weight are more likely to have a poor body image, higher levels of depression, and feel more pressure to be thin, according to a new study.
Researchers recruited undergraduate students at the University of Arizona – both women and men – to report their use of fat talk, body satisfaction, pressure to be skinny, self-esteem, and depression by answering two series of online questionnaires. The researchers uncovered a link between body image and depression in both men and women, so it’s not just the ladies who worry about flabby arms or belly fat.
Engaging in fat talk about your own body and weight tends to blossom into broader negative feelings about you and adds to feelings of helplessness. Not surprisingly, messages about what you should weigh come from a variety of sources. Family, friends, and the media all play a part, although healthier role models, such as Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games movie and the award winning singer Adele, who makes no apologies for her weight, have made headlines recently.
How do you break the cycle? Here are some tips for improving poor body image:
– Avoid reading magazines or looking at any images that reinforce the body image problem.
– Pay attention to the tone you use when talking to or about yourself. Would you talk that way to anyone else? Probably not. Try not to be so critical of yourself. Know WHO you are in Christ!
– Focus on what your body is capable of – your strengths – instead of what it’s not doing.
– If you find yourself in a fat talk conversation with friends, commit to not engaging in those types of discussions. Be honest with your friends. “Tell them, ‘Having this conversation isn’t helping us at all.'” Changing the subject may not solve the problem, but it’s a first step toward seeing yourself in a more positive light – and as more than a number on the scale.
When the thoughts enter your mind that wants to talk fat, counter those thoughts by taking them captive in Christ Jesus Who unconditionally loves you and wants you to think of yourself the way He does.
