Dear KKIM Family,
I am simply a blessed man to have you as a friend! Yes you! Sharon and I pray for you everyday here at the CUP!
I was asked yesterday at the National Day of Prayer event at Cross of Hope Church by Doug Brown..what does the CUP signify?GOOD QUESTION DOUG! I got a kick out of that question because it brought back many good memories. When I started writing what is now the CUP…..almost 14 years ago, I just would send out an email to a few friends and it kept growing and growing and somehow people wanted it to take on a name. It was Rick Griffin of Albuquerque who came up with the name Dewey’s Daily CUP…..with the idea we all gather and have a CUP of Blessings, fellowship, coffee, tea, coke…….or whatever people drink…a time of fellowship and prayer. I look back on the last 14 years of doing the CUP and I am so thankful for all of you! It was then about almost 9 or 10 years ago when friends like Rick, Brenda Towle and Taunya Tourville funded the CUP’s first web site!! www.deweysdailycup.com Monica Crick was our first web master and now we have another angel of God Jannetta LaMort who has been by our side for years! Never forget who helps you along the way!
I have a lot of fun in what I do, a lot of laughs, a lot of tears……..crying is good! Tears of joy, and mourning, of AWE! Yesterday I cried plenty at the wonderful National Day of Prayer service at Cross of Hope! Sharon was able to be with me before she had to go to work. My thanks to Kay Hendrickson and Pastor Dale Bauer for having me once again this year! I love the entire congregation. The service was very moving. I was blessed to be one of the Speakers along with,Councilor Dan Lewis, State Senator Sander Rue, Cross of Hope School Principle Sharon Halstead and Captain Mattern who has just returned from Afghanistan.
There were the most National Day of Prayer events than ever yesterday in the United States of America! A new record! PRAISE GOD!
At Cross of Hope they have such a loving Pastor and Congregation. Sharon and I have worshiped there and just love it! What a blessing! Pastor Dale Bauer is retiring in June, he has been at Cross of Hope over 20 years! What a blessing he has been!Pastor Dale planted the seed of the school at Cross of Hope that is bearing so much fruit in our community! Pastor Dale also planted the seed of the prayer group at Cross that prays for Sharon and I and KKIM everyday!!! I said as he received recognition from State Senator Sander Rue and the New Mexico legislature, that I wanted to be like Pastor Dale when I grow up! And Kay Hendrickson quickly said, That she hoped Dewey would never grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL!
I still have a lot of kid in me!!! I thank the Lord for that! When I called 88 year old Pastor Bruno of Legacy Church yesterday to check in on him, before I could ask him how he is doing he asked me how I was doing and started to pray for me!!!! And here is the verse he said to me……..
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. AMEN! psalm 103 verse 5
Let’s start at verse 1……..
By the way Cross of Hope gave me a new Bible with my name engraved in it! PRAISE GOD!
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord executeth righteousness and judgement for all that are oppressed.
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psalm 103 1-8
AMEN! Many have forgotten the benefits of the Lord………Healing of all diseases……redeeming our life from destruction, renewing us like eagle’s……….AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
It was so wonderful to picture in the mind yesterday of all the Prayer events around the United States of America!!!! On NM News and Views we had live reports from our nations Capitol Washington D.C. as Pastor Paul Holt was there giving us the historical perspective of the National Day of Prayer, we had reports from Albuquerque, Pastor Mark Tross reported in from Santa Fe where he spoke at the Roundhouse where Gov Martinez read the National Day of Prayer proclamation and we had a live report from Pastor Jim Montoya who attended the service in Belen. None of this of course was seen or heard on secular TV and Radio or even in the newspaper! This is how important Christian Radio stations like KKIM are! As I Preached yesterday we must be the Salt and Light! AMEN!
I was asked for KKIM’s mission statement during our 40th Birthday Celebration………….here it is…..
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid….Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. AMEN! Matt 5: 13-16
That is what I Preached on yesterday………that is not just the calling of KKIM, it’s the calling of all of us!
Kind words are like honey—–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24
Got many folks coming up to me yesterday saying how KKIM is the Light of Jesus in their life………
One man came up to me and said, KKIM has helped me so much in my daily walk with Jesus……..
Pastor Bruno said yesterday…….I remember when KKIM signed on the air 40 years ago, I called them to thank them for bringing Christian programming to New Mexico.
Many, many compliments on the Radio Ministry of KKIM..For God’s Glory Alone! We need your support just like all of Christian media. Here in New Mexico we have such AWESOME Radio and TV Ministries, we all need your payers financial support at this time. if you have questions on how you can help KKIM please email me or call me at 505-681-0331. Please pray on that.
HERE IS THE MOST POWERFUL PRAYER THAT I HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME!!!!
This is from Cross of Hope School Principle Sharon Halstead……….
Dear Pastor Moede,
Thank you very much for your blessing today…how very powerful and wonderful Christian love is! God is so good to us.
I have attached the prayer you requested.
Blessing to you, your family, and your ministry!
Sharon
Father…
As we look deeper into the hearts of our children, will we find poverty there? Is it possible that we do not nurture the gift of faith you gave them when they were born? Do we take them to church, temple or synagogue? Do we discuss faith and God and Holy Scriptures with our children? Will you help us return to you? Show us how to be faith-filled people!
Are our kids growing up too fast? Are we giving them rights of adulthood without training them first to be self-controlled, responsible, hard-working, empathetic, discerning and faithful people? We know that many of our kids are raising themselves, mentored only by their peers and the media because the adults in their lives are just too harried and busy to make quality time for them. Help us to make time to be parents and mentors. Help us to set boundaries by teaching our children to make the 10 Commandments the rules they live by as well as their code of honor. Teach us how to build and maintain relationships with our children in communities that honor children and hold them and each other accountable. Enable us to build strong foundations of love upon which everything is built. Help us to truly live out Deuteronomy 6:5-7 that says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments that I give today are to be on your HEARTS. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road…”
Teach us, Lord, to love our children unconditionally, just as they are, while at the same time maintaining parents and elders as authorities first, and friends second. Show us how to give daily affirmations to our children that reflect honesty, kindness, love, and respect instead of empty compliments.
Let us remember, God, that our children mimic us. Remind us that our little ones form their images of God…and learn compassion, mercy, and forgiveness…from what they see in us. Help us, Jesus, as the responsible adults, to hold the gates to your garden open a little longer so that our children can experience you in the very depths of their hearts. In this way, Father, may we move our Nation’s youth forward with grace and hope. This is my prayer…
Amen
WOW! PRAISE GOD for people like Sharon Halstead who guide our Children! AMEN!
You will want to print out that prayer!
Let us now hear from Ray of Mining The Truth weekdays on KKIM at 7:35am
What’s your name?
Throughout scripture God changed the names of many of its characters at different points in their lives. Sometimes it was at the moment of conversion like Saul of Tarsus becoming Paul. For others, it was when they reached a new level of intimacy and trust with God such as Abram becoming Abraham. What makes these stories enlightening is that their Hebrew names always had meanings. They were not like most names today, which have no meaning beyond a way to identify a specific person. For instance, Jacob meant schemer until his name was changed to Israel, which probably means one who rules with God.
What is fascinating is that many of the Biblical characters lived out the meaning of their names both before and after God changed them. When God changed their names, it was often prophetic. It’s as if they started to see themselves the way God saw them based on their new name. They finally found their identity in God and it totally changed the course of their lives.
One of the most life changing things we can do is to start to see and treat ourselves the way God sees us. You are holy and blameless in His sight. You are His possession. You are the joy that was set before Him that caused Christ to endure the brutal agony of the cross. You are seated with Christ in heaven. You are a joint heir with Christ. You are the temple where the Holy Spirit and Christ dwell. You are His masterpiece.
This is just a fraction of the things that scripture tells us that we are in Christ. In addition to that there is also a specific, intimate name that God has just for you. I think it has to do with your personality, gifting and the way that you respond to God’s love. This name is God’s way of identifying with you in your struggles that says He knows and understands you because He walks through the fire with you. The idea that God would feel such intimacy with me that He has a secret, intimate name just for me, puts a lump in my throat and a smile on my heart.
Revelation 2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’
I believe it’s a name that He has been calling out to each one of us our whole lives. When we listen, accept it and start to live it out, we’ll get a glimpse of ourselves as He really sees us.
1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

Than you Ray! AWESOME!

Stiltsville
Posted: 02 May 2012 11:01 PM PDT
Perhaps you don’t know about Stiltsville, the village, so strange but so true…
For each evening at six they meet in the circle for the purpose of sticks,
Tall stilts upon which a Stiltsvillian can strut and be lifted above the less and the least,
the Tribe of Too Smalls, the not cools who want to be tall—but can’t,
because in the giving of sticks, their name was not called. They didn’t get picked.
(from the children’s book, Tallest of the Smalls)
Ah, there it is! We fear nothingness, insignificance.
But if you pass your days mumbling, “I’ll never make a difference; I’m not worth anything,” guess what? You’re disagreeing with God.
Psalm 139:14 says, “You were fearfully and wonderfully made.” God’s idea. His masterpiece! God sees you and loves the you he sees!
Stiltsvillians still cluster; crowds still clamor, but more stay away. They seem less enamored since the Carpenter came and refused to be stilted!
Let’s Major in God
David just showed up this morning. He clocked out of sheep watching to deliver bread and cheese to his brothers on the battle-front. That’s where David hears Goliath defying God,. . . .
Read the first words he spoke, not just in the battle, but in the Bible: “David asked the men standing near him, ‘What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?’” (1 Sam. 17:26 niv).
David shows up discussing God. The soldiers mentioned nothing about him, the brothers never spoke his name, but David takes one step onto the stage and raises the subject of the living God. . . .
No one else discusses God. David discusses no one else but God. . . .
David sees what others don’t and refuses to see what others do. All eyes, except David’s, fall on the brutal, hate-breathing hulk. . . . The people know his taunts, demands, size, and strut. They have majored in Goliath.
David majors in God. He sees the giant, mind you; he just sees God more so. Look carefully at David’s battle cry: “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel” (1 Sam. 17:45).
— origiginally printed in Facing Your Giants
Lord God, train us to walk on your path. Teach us to see you in situations that are dangerous and difficult. Like David, when we are surrounded by overwhelming challenges may our thoughts and words turn first to you. Rather than discuss the problem, remind us to discuss you. May our first thought in the morning and our last thought at night be centered on you. Rather than worry about the impossibilities, let us major in your mighty power. When we am tempted to look at the giants in our lives, we will choose to look at you, amen.
Love Max and here’s Charles Stanley weekdays at 8:05 on KKIM!
Do Not Neglect Your Spiritual Gift
Read | 1 Timothy 4:12-16
Every Christian is given at least one spiritual gift with which to serve the Lord and build up the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:7). But many believers neglect this special empowerment of the Spirit. Although Timothy had some good reasons to forsake his calling from God, Paul advised him to “take pains with these things” and “be absorbed in them” (v. 15). As you look at Timothy, ask yourself if either of the following situations are hindering you from fully serving the Lord.
Age: No matter how old we are, the Lord wants us to use our spiritual gifts. Because Timothy was young, he could easily have been intimidated by those with more experience. However, youth isn’t our only excuse. Some believers think they’re too old to serve the Lord. Even though our areas of ministry may change over the years, we’re never called into spiritual retirement.
Inadequacy: Have you ever avoided a service opportunity simply because you felt totally unqualified? That’s probably how Timothy felt about leading the church at Ephesus. Our spiritual gifts rarely come to us fully developed. God often requires that we step out in faith and trust Him to work in and through us. Over time, as we obey and serve Him in our areas of giftedness, He increases the effectiveness of our ministry.
Is anything keeping you from using your spiritual gifts? Though given to us, these abilities aren’t for us; they’re for the church. To neglect them would not only deprive fellow believers but also rob ourselves: there is joy and blessing in serving others anddoing the work God has designated for us.
Praying the Promises of God
Read | Isaiah 40:8
Jesus made it clear that we would endure hardship in this life. But God gave His children amazing tools to keep trials from overwhelming us. For instance, He placed His Spirit inside each believer to guide and empower. In addition, He gave us prayer so we could not only communicate and stay connected with our Father but also bring Him our requests.
Today I want to focus on yet another one of His marvelous gifts: the Bible. Scripture is the actual Word of God Almighty. It is truth. It never changes. It enables us in all circumstances, so we have a sure foundation on which to base our lives and decisions.
There are thousands of promises in the Bible–countless assurances that we can rely on with perfect confidence. God wants us to learn them so we won’t miss out on blessings He wants to give. And wise believers will turn His promises into prayers and the cries of their hearts.
Let me give you an example that relates to difficult decisions. Psalms 32:8 states, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” We can pray God’s words back to Him, saying that we believe He will teach us and reveal His path, while remaining by our side as our caregiver through the entire situation.
When hardships arise, we need a solid foundation on which to stand. Otherwise, our emotions could easily lead us astray through faulty thinking. God is faithful and unchanging, so we can trust in His promises, which enable us to rest confidently and act boldly.

May 4, 2012. You are doing the wise thing in getting your house in order. It needs to be swept clean of all the debris associated with the past. You have the future now and want to maximize the effectiveness of the blessings coming to you. In your efforts to bring all into order, consider My order. My order is precise, but also bathed with mercy and grace. My order makes room for love, gentleness and kindness to all concerned. My efficiency is the same. It is different than yours for the same reasons as concerning order. Therefore, bring your order and drive for more efficiency in line with Mine so I can bless you and those with you.

May 4, 2012. When God led me to begin rereading my Chemistry 101 book about 3 years ago, one study led to another. Many people now send me science articles or tell me of science facts that line up with Scripture. Recently an educator told me that findings of late have shown that many older people have brain lesions. Those who think and respond to life positively, the lesions have little mental effect, but those who dwell on the negative things of life tend toward Alzheimer’s. “I have given instruction in Scripture to take thoughts captive and let your mind dwell on the blessing and good things of life. Precious one, obey My Word.”
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NASB) “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” Philippians 4:8 (NASB) “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Bev Robinson

May 4, 2012. You have a particular mindset right now. You feel as though you can make something happen by your own will. With enough time and effort you believe you can drastically cause change to occur in most events and or elements which surround you. The truth is only I can alter the events and elements which surround you. There is a role you play, however I am the one who dictates what and where the outcome will be according to My will. I encourage you to acknowledge Me and get your mindset in line with Mine. You desire to be an instrument of change. Pray that My will be done.

llergy symptoms aren’t usually life-threatening, but seasonal allergies are nothing to sneeze at, either. More than 2/3 of people actually endure symptoms year-round, according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). Popping pills is easy, but there are other tried-and-true (and often forgotten) methods of dealing with stubborn seasonal allergies. Avoidance is the best prescription, but that’s not always possible.
No place is safe from allergens — no matter where you go, there will be pollen, there will be mold, and there will be trees, grass, and flowers. But some cities are sneezier than others. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America named its 2012 Spring Allergy Capitals — rankings of the most miserable cities for spring allergy sufferers.
What makes a city an allergy capital? The group factored in three ingredients: each city’s seasonal pollen count, use of over-the-counter and prescription allergy medications, and number of board-certified allergists per patient. Pollen count refers to the number of grains of pollen in a cubic meter of air: the higher the number, the worse news for sufferers.
This year’s allergy capital is Knoxville, Tenn., which received the maximum score of 100 points. Knoxvillians and residents of other spring-allergy hotspots are likelier to experience severe allergy symptoms — runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, sneezing, watery eyes, and even difficulty breathing — than those in unranked or lower-ranking cities. Before heading on a road trip this season, check out the Allergy Capitals list (http://www.aafa.org/display.cfm?id=9&sub=33), which includes the top 100 sneeziest cities along with some great allergy information that can help you. If you really suffer from allergies and will be traveling to a challenging area, work with your allergist ahead of time to devise a management plan. Caution: The Southeast is typically the worst place to be during spring allergy season, while the Northeast is worst come fall.
Here’s the Medical bag with Dr. Joe…………
10 Worst Cities for Spring Allergy Sufferers
City & Overall Score
Knoxville, Tenn. 100
McAllen, Tex. 96.71
Louisville, Ky. 93.31
Jackson, Miss. 92.85
Wichita, Kan. 91.36
Oklahoma City, Okla. 90.57
Chattanooga, Tenn. 89.63
Memphis, Tenn. 85.19
San Antonio, Tex. 84.41
Dayton, Ohio 82.15
Here are some great “natural” tools for beating allergies:
1. The Internet
Use your keyboard as a tool to combat itchy eyes and a scratchy throat. First, take the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology’s Relief Self-Test (http://www.acaai.org/allergist/tools/relief_test/Pages/default.aspx) to figure out the severity of your problem. You can also keep an eye on pollen counts by checking with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (http://www.aaaai.org/home.aspx) every day (keep in mind, levels are usually highest during midday). If your Internet connection goes out, look to the sky and use this general rule of thumb: cloudy, windless days = less pollen. You can also shop online for that new vacuum cleaner, if you don’t already have one equipped with a HEPA filter, something essential for allergy sufferers.
2. That strangely shaped pot
“No way! I’m not putting that in my nose!” If you’ve ever found yourself grimacing at the thought of using a neti pot, you may want to reconsider. Filling the little pot with a saline solution and flushing it through your nostrils is an increasingly popular way of dealing with allergies naturally. Plus, research shows it’s just as effective as medicine, without all the side effects. And while it may look like you’re snorting liquid from a bullhorn, most doctors say it’s worth the initially awkward sensation. “Neti pots and sinus saline rinse are becoming a standard treatment for patients with allergies and sinus disease. No question they are well received by many allergists, ear, nose, and throat doctors, and others who treat allergies,” says Clifford Bassett, MD, a fellow of the ACAAI.
3. A massage
Relaxation unleashes a biological mechanism that prevents the brain from sending the “attack the allergens!” response that gets you sneezing and wheezing. Massage’s natural allergy relief properties lower blood pressure and heart rate while improving circulation, which will lower stress levels and help keep your allergies under control. Meditation, prayer, hanging out with friends, and writing down what you’re worried about can also dramatically lower your stress levels. For a natural allergy treatment try this simple exercise: Sit cross-legged on the floor with your head, neck, and trunk of your body straight. Rest your hands on your thighs and close your eyes. Focus on the bridge between your nostrils, and concentrate on each deep breath from your abdomen in and out for one to three minutes. Breathe in from the nose and exhale slowly out the mouth.
4. Your neighbor’s kid
Grass pollen is a common spring and summer allergen, so don’t torture yourself by mowing the grass. Instead, enlist a capable neighborhood kid for the task – he or she will appreciate a few extra bucks, and you can stay inside. If you’re really adventurous, and if your municipality allows it, get a goat or sheep to munch on your lawn.
5. A mask
If your neighborhood kid bails and you’re stuck doing outdoor chores that aggravate your pollen, grass, or mold allergies, wear a NIOSH 95 filter mask, suggests the ACAAI. You can find them online, in pharmacies, or in hardware stores. Your neighbors may think you’re overreacting to a flu outbreak, but so what. You’ll be able to breathe easy when you go back inside. As an added precaution, you should wear glasses or sunglasses when outside to keep pollen from invading your eyeballs. When you go inside, take a shower, wash your hair, and change your outfit to get rid of residue riding on your wardrobe.
Have a wonderfully blessed weekend and if you have “allergies” may they be gone in Jesus’ name!
