Subject: Holy Cup of Goodness in Jesus Christ KKIM/DDC
Dear KKIM Family,
WOW! What an amazing time we live in, for God’s Glory Alone!
Bible Prophecy playing our right before I eyes!
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:22”
Please drink this CUP slowly…….slowly….it is very full of the goodness of Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow on NM News and Views Pastor Vic Tafoya delivers his annual Good Friday Message on KKIM. Pastor Vic has been doing this for 5 years now, I look forward so much to his message, join at 4:25pm on Good Friday.
The most AWESOME time on air yesterday with Jannetta LaMort, who is our web master here at the Daily Cup, her full time position is with the Albuquerque Rescue Mission where she is preparing for the washing of the feet of the homeless on Saturday. Last year over 800 people came to the Mission to have their feet washed, women, children, babies, and men.Over 500 pairs of shoes were given out. Many, many socks! Can you donate shoes? socks? Towels? Can you spare a few dollars so Jannetta can purchase enough shoes? Can you imagine what she goes through to put this Godly event on? What a shopping trip. Much is donated, of course, but with such a big need, she needs our help! Volunteers are also needed so call the Mission now at 505-346-4673 ext 237 web site www.abqrescue.org ; Health checks go on that day for blood sugar, blood pressure, eyes and glasses will be prescribed and given if needed, feet will be examined, hair cuts given! This is such a Godly event! Please pray! I will be there on Saturday walking the area around the Mission and encouraging folks and praying over them. FOR GODS GLORY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ps.You still have time to drop off donated items! Please call Jannetta and ask what she needs! I know a few things: SHOES, SOCKS, TOWELS!!!!!
Pastor Jim Montoya tell’s me that at the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas last night they had washing of the feet. Thank you Jim for being a servant of our Lord. FOR GODS GLORY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Gospel of Matthew 26: 7-11
a women came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it on His head as He reclined at the table. But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said, “Why this waste? For this perfume might have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor” But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you bother the woman? For she has done a good deed to Me. For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”
Last night on NM news and Views Pastor Steve Smothermon was with me and he shared with us that 1,000 people will be baptized this weekend at Legacy Church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD! FOR GODS GLORY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say that those that are baptized at Legacy Church, the folks at Legacy stick with those babes in Christ…….the Legacy folks surround them in the love of Jesus and help them in their Daily walk with Jesus!
Part of what we must do as the Body of Christ, is that when someone is brought into the Kingdom, we must walk with them!
This comes right after 3,000 kids attended Swag at the Dome at Legacy and around 1,000 kids came forward that night and gave their life to Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!
Just think of all the souls that have been won for Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR GODS GLORY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is what the Lord is showing me this day…Whether it’s Pastor Vic Tafoya Preaching the Good Friday service on KKIM, Myself and Jannetta and many others walking the grounds of the Mission on Saturday sharing the Good News of Jesus, Pastor Jim Montoya washing the feet of others in Los Lunas, Pastor Steve Smothermon baptizing many on Easter Sunday, and all the Pastor’s around the World serving others this Easter season, many, many souls will be won for Jesus Christ! This is the most exciting time to be alive for our LORD!
I picture all the Church’s in rural America……and across the World……….Oh my friends, let us be in prayer for all the Pastor’s of Jesus Christ!
Would you please pray this prayer with me? Let us pray…………
Lord, we live in a hectic and chaotic world, and only You can provide true and lasting peace. We accept Your sacrifice that God offered us. You truly are the Son of the Most High God. Prince of Peace, breathe Your Holy Spirit on us today; fill us with the same wholeness and assurance that Your earliest disciples felt when You breathed on them. We desire that same mantle of forgiveness You gave them—–help us be a peacemaker. We have faith, and we know and trust that You died for us, but oh, how these revelations from Your Word are strengthening our faith. We now confess that we must know Your Word better, for all of Scripture points to the depth of love You have for us and that Your plan was and is being fulfilled from the beginning of time to the end of time. Keep our eyes and our hearts steadfast in Your will and empower us to accomplish Your purposes for our lives. We are Yours! In the name of Jesus, Amen!
What I would like you to do…….is listen for the Lord, and if He moves you to share this with your Pastor and others please do so!
One more thing about last night on the air……people are starting to text me at 505-681-0331 with questions and comments when I am on air, and I am grateful for that! PRAISE GOD! Even during a fast paced newscast and interview your questions are always welcomed, sorry of I can’t get to them all! Last night Leslie texted she learned a lesson after hearing Pastor Steve Smothermon, then Victor Martinez texted a question for Pastor Steve..”Was Jesus ever sick in his 33 years here on earth!” Pastor Steve, “Not in the Bible I read!” Victor points to Galatians 2:20………..
Let me start at verse 19………
For through the law I have died to the law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and I no longer live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
Victor went onto say……….
Isn’t the idea that Jesus was never sick incredible to you? makes my jaw drop. (I think Victor the wonders of our LORD don’t make our jaws drop enough!!! AMEN) I never knew or was taught that Jesus was never sick. We are taught to accept sickness and glorify God through it. Jesus didn’t. He healed it and never called it a blessing. He now lives in the believer and views it the same way.Yet most Christians accept and embrace it. Why?
From Max Lucado…….
Trust the Cross
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:22”
My dog Salty knows he isn’t supposed to get into the trash. But let the house be human free, and the dark side of Salty takes over. If there’s food in a trash can, the temptation is too great!
That’s what happened the other day. I got made, but I got over it. I cleaned up the mess and forgot about it.
Salty didn’t! He kept his distance. When I finally saw him, his tail was between his legs, his ears dropping. He thinks I’m mad at him. He doesn’t know I’ve already dealt with his mistake.
Somewhere, sometime, you got tangled in garbage…and you’ve been avoiding God. You wonder if you could ever feel close to God again. The message of his torn flesh on the cross is—you can
The door is open. Don’t trust your conscience. Trust the cross. You’re welcome in God’s presence!
Eternal Choices
Then (the thief) said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:42-44
Isn’t this the reminder of Calvary’s trio? Ever wonder why there were two crosses next to Christ? Why not six or ten? Ever wonder why Jesus was in the center? Could it be the two crosses on the hill symbolize one of God’s greatest gifts? The gift of choice.
The two criminals were convicted by the same system. Condemned to the same death. Equally close to the same Jesus. But one changed!
You’ve made some bad choices in life, haven’t you? You look back and you say, “If only I could make up for those bad choices. You can!
When one thief on the cross prayed, Jesus loved him enough to save him. When the other mocked, Jesus loved him enough to let him. He allowed him the choice.
He does the same for you!

April 5, 2012. You have wondered at times if your efforts to live righteously have been falling on deaf ears in Heaven. Some choices to do the right thing have been costly in time, finances and suffering. But you have the feeling inside that all is well with your soul. I tell you to never doubt that I am taking note and rejoicing in your behavior because you do it with love for Me. Keep your motives pure and clean. Make sure you are seeking My face even more than that of the one you love the most on this earth. My presence surrounds you now. It will lead you into the paths of righteousness and the fruit of righteousness that so many never see. You are doing well. My love abounds toward you.
Psalm 5:12 (NASB) “For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.” Ras Robinson

April 5, 2012. A chance to begin again is before you. This new beginning is exciting. You have been here more than once. New beginnings are good. My plan is for you to stay with this revisited endeavor until you reach your goal. In the past when it gets hard you stop. Don’t do that this time. It will always be hard on particular occasions. Think ahead and prepare yourself when the hard times come. Don’t let them slip up on you. I am your example keep Me and how I overcame hardships completing My goal. I have that same power available for you to rely on in overcoming hardships in reaching your goal.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” Bev Robinson

April 5, 2012. Last night I needed to be reminded of a simple principle that I have often used, but forgot and needed a refresher course. While helping a close friend of mine work on an automobile issue he had labored with for several days, I asked the Lord for wisdom out loud. In an instant there was a breakthrough. We continued into the night trying to resolve further issues. Again and again, we asked and Holy Spirit delivered throughout the evening. Praise to my Heavenly Father! Working in tandem we finished the task in short order. The Lord says, “When you are having difficulty overcoming issues during each day, call upon Me.”
Luke 11:9-10 (AMP) “So I say to you, ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.” Kevin Robinson

How to Stick to a “Diet” and Get Healthier
Deciding to go on a diet is fairly easy. Sticking to one is a real different story. Thousands of diet books and infomercials promise slimmer waists and longer lives. More legitimately, doctors and news articles deliver (sometimes conflicting) suggestions for you: decrease your portions, drink more water, and eat more greens, and so on and so on. Most often, none of it works. Why? Because we make ourselves miserable trying to change our diets in a way that’s supposed to be good for us but makes us unhappy and we quit.
Therefore, how do you embrace healthier eating without driving yourself insane? For example, it’s frequently said that a portion of meat in a meal should be no larger than a deck of cards. If you’re used to eating a huge cut of meat, or two chicken breasts in a sitting, eating that on Monday and a deck of cards-sized portion on Tuesday is just going to make you frustrated. So how do you get from here to there? Here are some tips.
1. Start Slow and Make Gradual Changes
If you’re trying to change your relationship with food it’s not going to happen overnight. You have to make gradual, positive changes in your diet that eventually turn into habits that come naturally.
Portion control, for example, is one of the hardest things to adjust. We’re used to being overfed at restaurants that offer huge amounts of food, and often cook too much at home too. When you get that heaping plate, make a mental note to eat half of it at the restaurant and box up the other half for lunch tomorrow—or even ask for the box before you start eating so you’re not tempted to eat it all.
Still, scaling back is tough, so eat foods that give you the most belly-filling bang for your caloric buck. A cup of blueberries is roughly 85 calories. A cup of Haagen Dazs ice cream is about 600 calories. If you’re looking for a snack around the 200-calorie mark, this matters. Eating tiny portions of highly caloric items in an effort to ‘control portions’ is a recipe for disaster. Your eyes will see the tiny amounts and go, “That’s all?” — and you’ll be hungry again in less than 30-minutes later. Similarly, dipping vegetables (instead of chips and crackers) into peanut butter/hummus/guacamole is a much better idea than dipping crackers into a pea-sized amount of those dips. Not only are vegetables lower in calories, they also offer much more nutrition.
Focus on What You’re Getting, Not What You’re Giving Up
One way to do this is to think in terms of inclusion instead of exclusion. Instead of focusing on foods you shouldn’t eat, focus on the foods you enjoy eating. Rather than make a goal of no more mashed potatoes at dinner, instead add dark leafy green vegetables to your plate three times this week. The idea is to “crowd out” less healthy foods, rather than attempt an overnight change. If you’re going to make positive changes, find some healthy foods that you enjoy, and fall in love with them—include them in your meals as you like, and make them your new best friends.
Don’t force yourself to eat something you hate “just because it’s healthy.” Only choose foods that you love. Most of us are not born adoring every vegetable, craving flax, or loving salmon (I don’t!). If you try to force an undesirable food into your diet, you’re simply going to end up grumpy and underfed. If you catch yourself eating something you hate just because you think it’s good for you, stop. Too often we associate healthy eating with plain, boring, dull, tasteless eating, and it doesn’t have to be that way.
Experiment
If you’re going to get past the mental block that healthy food is boring food, the first thing you’ll have to learn is to experiment with your diet. One of the best ways to commit to positive changes is to fall in love with healthy options—now it’s time to find some new loves. When it comes to eating healthier foods, you NEED recipes from the pros. One of the biggest mistakes people make is adding foods like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, lentils, and quinoa to their diets in ways that are bland and tasteless. Foods people consider “boring” are that way because they’re being poorly prepared. If you hate oatmeal, for example, stop cooking it in water and adding raisins and calling it breakfast. Instead add a tablespoon of coconut milk or almond milk, a little vanilla extract, and some cinnamon to spice it up. Stir in a tablespoon of peanut or almond butter when it’s finished.
As you experiment, remember that your relationship with food is a personal one. If you enjoy something that’s “different”, embrace it. Just because most people don’t often combine raw pineapple and seared tuna as a snack doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t pack it for lunch. If it looks good to you, appeals to your personal tastes and is a known entity in terms of nutrition – go for it. Variety and unusual new flavor combinations are going to help keep you engaged in your new habits.
Healthy Substitutions and Snacks
Cravings and mid-day hunger pangs are the worst, and have led to many a diet derailment. They don’t have to. Your willpower is limited, so stop spending it fighting cravings or resisting the urge to eat in between meals. If you want a snack, have one—just make it something that’s good and good for you.
Waiting until you’re hungry to decide what you’ll be eating is often the kiss of death for someone trying to reform his or her habits. Always, always, always carry at least one snack, if not two! Single serving baggies of nuts, pieces of fruit, jerky, and sliced vegetables can help you bridge the gap between breakfast and lunch, or address an attack of “mouth boredom” that might ordinarily send you running for the vending machine. Listen to your body. Trying to ignore hunger until the next meal usually leads to disasters such as overeating, picking whatever is most convenient rather than what is healthiest, etc.
Battling cravings? Forethought is key. The best way to deal with cravings is to find good alternatives that are both tasty and satisfying. Really want a peanut butter cup? Instead take 2 squares of dark chocolate and put 2 teaspoons of natural (as in, no added sugars or oils) peanut or almond butter in between them. The dark chocolate provides minerals, antioxidants, and fiber, while the natural nut butter adds vitamins and heart-healthy fats. What about when you want a creamy, savory addition to your sandwich? Forget nasty fat-free mayo. Instead, mash some avocado with lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt, and smear that on the bread. If you must have your craving though, try to use it as an ingredient instead of the main dish. If you’re craving tortilla chips, don’t just tear into the bag. Instead, have a veggie chili or some guac and put the chips on the side. Want chocolate? Shred some and put it on top of your oatmeal.
Get Cooking
One of the easiest ways to eat healthy without making yourself miserable is to take a more active role in your relationship with food. Don’t let your meals turn into things that just happen to you every day at specified times. You don’t need to start living to eat as opposed to eating to live, but use those times when you’re full of energy to prepare for when you’re not. An hour on the weekend when you’re rested and relaxed can be used to prepare a crock pot full of a healthy, hearty chili that will feed when you don’t even want to think about lunch because you’re so busy at work, or after a long hard day when dinner is the last thing you want to fuss over.
Find a recipe every week that interests you, and make enough of it to last a while. You’ll stir up an interest in cooking and you’ll have lunches or quick dinners over the course of the week. Basic cooking is going to be necessary in order to feed yourself well and sustainably, but make it a goal to find one recipe each Saturday or Sunday that looks especially intriguing to you. Shop accordingly and make multiple servings that can be easily packed and heated over the course of the week.
Crock pots are wonderful! Make large batches of whatever you love that’s good for you. Alternate them as lunches in frozen, single servings – the end result is better health and better financial stewardship because you won’t be driving down the street each day for a $10 fast meal. Splurge on some quality ingredients in your kitchen to help you fall in love with the healthy meals you’re making, like the best quality of olive oil for your salads and dressings, or even vanilla bean powder instead of extract for a fancy yogurt or oatmeal topping that’ll keep you coming back to a healthy dish.
Bottom Line: Keep Your Eyes on Your Goals
The most important thing to remember is your attitude to stay committed, focused, and motivated. Don’t be afraid to explore new, healthy options.
Take it slow, and be mindful as you progress. Reducing your sugar intake is challenging enough without adding on the pressure of eating a dark leafy green vegetable every night with dinner, replacing refined grains with whole ones, and eating less fried food. Make a list of a few goals, commit to one for a few weeks, and when you have a handle on it and have made it a habit, then move to the next one. Unless you’re the type who just needs to throw up your hands and reboot everything, you’re much less likely to feel overwhelmed and give up if you tackle them one at a time, instead of trying to make sweeping changes to your lifestyle in one weekend: keep your goals front and center. Whether it’s to be a more active parent or partner, lose weight, improve your sleep or take control of your health, keep a visual reminder of your goals at all times in eye’s sight. A photo in your wallet or a magazine clipping on your fridge or desk is a powerful motivator that will help you remember what choice(s) you’re making whenever you face temptation. When you can see the fruits of your labor, it’s easier to be stronger when you’d otherwise cave in.

Financial Advice You Need to Know:
The first thing I notice when I receive income and expense statistics
from folks wanting to learn how to establish a budget, is the number
of items most people have mixed in with their needs that are actually
wants. To have an effective budget you have to learn to get down to
the “nitty gritty” and sort things out. A need is basic necessity in
life, anything else is a want. Needs establish the basis for your
budget, wants come after you’ve established a successful budget and
have a discretionary spending fund in place. Let’s look at this a
little bit deeper. Food is a broad concept. It includes groceries and
eating out (on an occasional basis), but outside of that much of what
I see listed as food is “entertainment”; which is a want, not a need.
Coffee shops, delis, pizza, ice cream, “big” anything, you get the
picture…these are items or times of entertainment and not part of a
food budget. These expenditures can exist in a budget, but let’s be
honest, if you are having trouble making “ends meet” these are the
first items that should “end” until you can “meet” your budget goals.
Learn to be specific in your budget which will make you honest in your
assessment of your financial condition. First time budget lists often
have line items that say Wal Mart, Target, Smiths, which are all store
names not budget entries. When I find a store name listed in the food
section I always ask to see the receipt. Yup, you guessed it, there
among the “food items” I find cosmetics, toiletries, electronics,
batteries, toys, clothing items…anything and everything that a big box
store sells is of course there. Take each receipt and break down the
expenditures into their appropriate categories. Once you’ve done this
a few times you will see how grocery shopping at big box stores leads
to impulse buying…stick to the list and don’t browse the other isles
is the best cure for this budget buster. The Lord is not against
wants, He delights in blessing His children, but His promise is to
supply our needs when we are faithful stewards of what He has
entrusted to us.
