It was sad to have Gretchen leave today……….I am very happy and sad at the same time……time is moving so fast….we cannot go back, just forward and to help our Children go forth in their lives, and cover them in our prayers.
We had a Norman Rockwell moment in our neighborhood before the winds hit yesterday as Tom Johnson was walking his little grandson down the sidewalk….Grandpa and Grandson………a wonderful picture of love!!!
Yesterday we had wind gusts up top 75 miles per hour in Albuquerque and 33,000 people without power for awhile, no flights at the airport, trees down, and blowing dust, so much dust that we could SMELL it in our house on the westside. My allergies went into full blast! WOW! Made me sick. We are in the midst of the worst drought in our history here in New Mexico and there was plenty of real estate blowing around yesterday. In Phoenix yesterday 40 degrees and hail! In International Falls, Minn usually the coldest spot in the Union 77 degrees!!!!!!!!! Chicago recorded it’s fifth straight day in the 80’s!!!! This is March is it not???? The weather patterns are all mixed up!!!

God’s perspective is that through His promises I will come to recognize His claim of ownership on me
The LORD led me to this reading today, the exact words I needed HIM to confirm for me this day, PRAISE GOD, It is in Max Lucado’s book, Facing Your Giants. The LORD always leads me to things I need….HE sent me to page 106…….They list all the reasons the stones can’t and shouldn’t be restacked. But Nehemiah won’t listen to them. “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?” Neh 6:3
David, Nehemiah, and JESUS practiced selective listening. Can’t we do the do the same?
Two types of thoughts continually vie for our attention. One says, “yes you can.” The other says, “No you can’t.” One says, “God will help you.” The other lies. “God has left you.”
Two types of thoughts continually vie for our attention, One proclaims God’s strengths; the other lists our failures!
I will say this also, When I have been given my marching orders from the LORD I have to march on no matter what the World says……..I also cannot always answer peoples questions right away as they want, as I have not heard from the LORD!
Many want instant decisions, I have to have the Word from the LORD before I answer.
Nothing noise is created when we go off without the LORD’S Word’s.
That is when we get into trouble.
Day 30 of our 40 Day Journey…………
Isaiah 53:7 Old testament Prophecy
In the face of such oppression and suffering ——– silence.
Not a word of protest, not a finger raised to stop it.
Like sheep to a shearing, like a lamb to be slaughtered,
he went——oh so quietly, oh so willingly.
Fulfilled in Jesus John 1:29
The morning after this conversation, John sees Jesus coming toward him. In eager astonishment, he shouts out:
John The Baptist: Look! This man is more than He seems! He is the Lamb sent from God, the sacrifice to erase the sins of the world!
Each family in Israel had to have a lamb at Passover each year to shed its blood as a sacrificial offering to restore relationship with God and pay for their sins. But only the Lamb of God, Jesus, the Anointed Son of God’s blood could take away the sins of the world once and for all. AMEN!
I have been Preaching a lot and talking on the radio much about Repentance . The folks at Fullnessonline referred to Charles Spurgeon, I think it was on Saturday as they studied repentance. I found this AWESOME sermon from Spurgeon that I want to share with you in parts……I can just hear him Preaching it now!
“Repent ye, and believe the gospel.”—Mark 1:15
ur Lord Jesus Christ commences his ministry by announcing its leading commands. He cometh up from the wilderness newly anointed, like the bridegroom from his chamber; his love notes are repentance and faith. He cometh forth fully prepared for his office, having been in the desert, “tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin”; his loins are girded like a strong man to run a race. He preacheth with all the earnestness of a new zeal, combined with all the wisdom of a long preparation; in the beauty of holiness from the womb of morning he glittereth with the dew of his youth. Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, for Messias speaketh in the greatness of his strength. He crieth unto the sons of men, “Repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Let us give our ears to these words which, like their author, are full of grace and truth. Before us we have the sum and substance of Jesus Christ’s whole teaching—the Alpha and Omega of his entire ministry; and coming from the lips of such an one, at such a time, with such peculiar power, let us give the most earnest heed, and may God help us to obey them from our inmost hearts.
I. I shall commence my remarking that the gospel which Christ preached was, very plainly, a command. “Repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Our Lord does condescend to reason. Often his ministry graciously acted out the old text, “Come, now, and let us reason together; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as wool.” He does persuade men by telling and forcible arguments, which should lead them to seek the salvation of their souls. He does invite men, and oh, how lovingly he woos them to be wise. “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He does entreat men; he condescendeth to become, as it were, a beggar to his own sinful creatures, beseeching them to come to him. Indeed, he maketh this to be the duty of his ministers, “As though God did beseech you by us, we pray you, in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” Yet, remember, though he condescendeth to reason, to persuade, to invite, and to beseech, still his gospel hath in it all the dignity and force of a command; and if we would preach it in these days as Christ did, we must proclaim it as a command from God, attended with a divine sanction, and not to be neglected save at the infinite peril of the soul. When the feast was spread upon the table for the marriage-supper, there was an invitation, but it had all the obligation of a command, since those who rejected it were utterly destroyed as despisers of their king. When the builders reject Christ, he becomes a stone of stumbling to “the disobedient”; but how could they disobey if there were no command? The gospel contemplates, I say, invitations, entreaties, and beseechings, but it also takes the higher ground of authority. “Repent ye” is as much a command of God as “Thou shalt not steal.” “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” has as fully a divine authority as “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy strength.” Think not, O men, that the gospel is a thing left to your option to choose it or not! Dream not, O sinners, that ye may despise the Word from heaven and incur no guilt! Think not that ye may neglect it and no ill consequences shall follow! It is just this neglect and despising of yours which shall fill up the measure of your iniquity. It is this concerning which we cry aloud, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation!” God commands you to repent. The same God before whom Sinai was moved and was altogether on a smoke—that same God who proclaimed the law with sound of trumpet, with lightnings and with thunders, speaketh to us more gently, but still as divinely, through his only begotten Son, when he saith to us, “Repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Why is this, dear friends; why has the Lord made it a command to us to believe in Christ? There is a blessed reason. Many souls would never venture to believe at all if it were not made penal to refuse to do so. For this is the difficulty with many awakened sinners: may I believe? Have I a right to believe? Am I permitted to trust Christ? Now this question is put aside, once for all, and should never irritate a broken heart again. You are commanded by God to do it, therefore you may do it. Every creature under heaven is commanded to believe in the Lord Jesus, and bow the knee at his name; every creature, wherever the gospel comes, wherever the truth is preached, is commanded there and then to believe the gospel; and it is put in that shape, I say, least any conscience-stricken sinner should question whether he may do it. Surely, you may do what God commands you to do. You may know this in the devil’s teeth—”I may do it; I am bidden to do it by him who hath authority, and I am threatened if I do not with eternal damnation from his presence, for ‘he that believeth not shall be damned.'” This gives the sinner such a blessed permit, that whatever he may be or may not be, whatever he may have felt or may not have felt, he has a warrant which he may use whenever he is led to approach the cross. However benighted and darkened you may be, however hard-hearted and callous you may be, you have still a warrant to look to Jesus in the words, “Look unto me and be ye saved all ye ends of the earth.” He that commanded thee to believe will justify thee in believing; he cannot condemn thee for that which he himself bids thee do. But while there is this blessed reason for the gospel’s being a command, there is yet another solemn and an awful one. It is that men may be without excuse in the day of judgment; that no man may say at the last, “Lord, I did not know that I might believe in Christ; Lord, heaven’s gate was shut in my face; I was told that I might not come, that I was not the man.” “Nay,” saith the Lord, with tones of thunder, “the times of man’s ignorance I winked at, but in the gospel I commanded all men everywhere to repent; I sent my Son, and then I sent my apostles, and afterwards my ministers, and I bade them all make this the burden of their cry, ‘Repent and be converted everyone of you’; and as Peter preached at Pentecost, so bade I them preach to thee. I bade them warn, exhort, and invite with all affection, but also to command with all authority, compelling you to come in, and inasmuch as you did not come at my command, you have added sin to sin; you have added the suicide of your own soul to all your other iniquities; and now, inasmuch as you did reject my Son, you shall have the portion of unbelievers, for ‘he that believeth not shall be damned.'” To all the nations of the earth, then, let us sound forth this decree from God. O men, Jehovah that made you, he who gives you the breath of your nostrils, he against whom you have offended, commands you this day to repent and believe the gospel. He gives his promise—”He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved”; and he adds the solemn threatening—”He that believeth not shall be damned.” I know some brethren will not like this, but that I cannot help. The slave of systems I will never be, for the Lord has loosed this iron bondage from my neck, and now I am the joyful servant of the truth which maketh free. Offend or please, as God shall help me, I will preach every truth as I learn it from the Word; and I know if there be anything written in the Bible at all it is written as with a sunbeam, that God in Christ commandeth men to repent, and believe the gospel. It is one of the saddest proofs of man’s utter depravity that he will not obey this command, but that he will despise Christ, and so make his doom worse than the doom of Sodom and Gomorrah. Without the regenerating work of God the Holy Ghost, no man ever will be obedient to this command, but still it must be published for a witness against them if they reject it; and while publishing God’s command with all simplicity, we may expect that he will divinely enforce it in the souls of those whom he has ordained unto eternal life.

Kill Me Now by Shawn McEvoy, Crosswalk.com Managing EditorIf this is how you are
going to treat me, put me to death right now — if I have found favor in your
eyes — and do not let me face my own ruin.”Numbers 11:15…while he himself
went a day’s journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it
and prayed that he might die.”I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life;
I am no better than my ancestors.” 1 Kings 19:4Now, O Lord, take away my life,
for it is better for me to die than to live. Jonah 4:3What kind of a person
feels like this? A schmo like me, at times, sure. Maybe you, or people you know.
Surely not the heroes of the Old Testament.
Well, truth is, even God’s greatest leaders and prophets got to the point in
their respective stories where, even after witnessing indescribable miracles and
blessings, their circumstances were so overwhelming, impossible and undesirable
their attitude was, “Just kill me now, Lord!” Exhausted in body, soul, and
spirit, they cried out that they had had enough. They could go no longer in
their own power.
The first quote above is from
Moses, who
had a People Problem. The wandering Israelites were hungry, and as usual, it
fell to Moses to solve the problem. He cried out to the Lord, “Was it I who
conceived these people? Was it I who brought them forth?” He looked around and
couldn’t figure out how to satisfy everyone.
The second quote is from
Elijah, who
had a Pity Problem. This was a prophet who had just called down fire from
heaven, destroyed the prophets of Baal, and witnessed the end of a long drought.
But just a few verses later, one vow from one wicked queen has him in such
despair that he fears he can’t go on like this.
The third quote is from
Jonah, who
had a Pouting Problem. He’d finally obeyed to the point of going to Nineveh and
preaching repentance, but when the Lord relented and stayed his hand rather than
destroying the city, Jonah wasn’t happy. He folded his hands and “became angry”
that the destruction he forecast never arrived.
Consider who these men were and what they had seen, what the Lord had done
through them. Moses parted the Red Sea and led a people out of slavery. Elijah
stood strong for Israel during a time of tremendous pagan influence, prayed down
fire and rain, and actually never died (so chalk up at least one unanswered
prayer!). Jonah is one of the first stories we tell our children, about how God
provided a great fish to swallow him for such a period as he could learn about
obedience and repentance.
Not only that, but these guys all show up in the Gospels, in one way or another.
Moses and Elijah are present at Jesus’ transfiguration (
Mark 9). In
Matthew 12:38-41 (NIV), Jesus tells the Pharisees they won’t get any sign from
him other than the sign of Jonah, foreshadowing the three days He Himself would
spend in the belly of the Earth.
But interestingly enough, Christ apparently never felt this way. He knew His
destiny was to die, but even so prayed that such a cup might pass from Him. And
let’s not forget that He is our example, not Moses, not Elijah, and not Jonah,
great as they were.
When we feel the way that these guys did, we need to realize that anyone wanting
to die is under attack. And our enemy can bring that attack through people,
pity, and pouting. It comes when our body is not healthy, our soul is not happy,
and our spirit is not holy.
But conveniently enough, Paul shows us a prayer that covers all these bases. He
writes in 1 Thessalonians 5, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you
entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without
blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and
He also will bring it to pass.” (
23-24).
You aren’t
alone when you feel like you can’t go on, or like you would be better off dead
than standing strong in the face of the overwhelming task God has given you,
especially when you are weak in body, soul, and spirit, and the enemy is on the
attack. And truly, it is comforting to know that some of the Bible’s greatest
faith warriors and miracle workers shared these feelings. But it doesn’t mean
they were right. Let us not indulge hopelessness, for it may always be found.
Instead, let us remember that we serve a God of hope and of miracles and we
follow the One who never copped to people, pity, or pouting, but willingly laid
His life down.
Intersecting Faith & Life: Develop a plan that gives you exercise and rest in
proper amounts for your body, soul, and spirit, so that you will be less prone
to attack

March 19, 2012. Circumstances are weighing heavily on you and on even some of those around you. When you see yourself in the mirror you notice that your body is even stooped because of the weight. Drop this burden, not on other people but on Me. Then pick up, carry and distribute thankfulness. That makes you much lighter. It is not enough to drop the burden. You need to replace it with a grateful heart. Get your mind off the burden and onto My goodness. I say again it is not enough to drop the burden, but it is more than enough to replace it with thankfulness. Trade your burdens for bundles of peace.

March 19, 2012. Although the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere begins on Tuesday, March 20, the earth has already begun to sing its song to Me. The fruit trees and wild flowers have already begun to bud their brilliant display of colors throughout the landscape. The bees and butterflies are faithfully dancing from bloom to bloom doing their part of insuring the spread of pollen. The birds as well have starting singing their beautiful and glorious songs to Me and to one another too. What song is on your heart? I have put a song in you to declare your newness of life to Me. Sing a new song to Me.

What Your Eyebrows May Be Telling You
Ladies, if the outer third of your eyebrow is starting to fall out on its own, it may mean you’re not producing enough thyroid hormone.
And that’s not too good of news because if your thyroid is working like it should, you’ll have:
– Increased energy
– Regular blood pressure
– Normal heart rate
– Better mood
– Shiny, lustrous hair
– Normal periods
– Normal weight
– Healthy metabolism
– Less stress
– Normal body temperature
– Normal perspiration
– Strong joints & muscles
– A sharp memory
– Normal cholesterol
But, if your thyroid isn’t working as efficiently as it could, you might experience one or more of over two hundred problems.
Besides losing your eyebrows, you might start to feel chilly all the time. You might notice extra fat around your waist. Maybe you get headaches a lot, your nails break easily, or your mood may not be as good as it once was.
If you recognize any of these symptoms, you’re not alone. You have a one in five chance of developing thyroid issues by the time you’re 65 years of age.
In fact, low thyroid function is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions today. According to a major study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, 13 million Americans are undiagnosed and unaware they have thyroid issues.
But don’t rush off to your doctor quite yet.
The good news is, low levels of thyroid hormone may not require medical treatment.
Many things can affect your thyroid, like eating too many carbohydrates. Or when you starve yourself to lose a pound or two. You need a good diet with protein and healthy fat for your thyroid to work properly.
If you’re on birth control pills, or if you take other medications, it can also interfere. So can toxins that get into your bloodstream, like pesticides, mercury, or the chemicals you find in plastics.
This is not something to take lightly. When your thyroid is active, it helps your arteries stay flexible and strong, and supports a healthy heart.
You can easily test your thyroid at home.
To see if you might have an underactive thyroid:
– Buy a glass thermometer instead of digital and keep it next to your bed.
– As soon as you wake up, tuck the thermometer in your armpit and leave it there for 15 minutes. Any movement will affect the reading, so lie still and relax.
– Write down the temperature.
– Do this for three days in a row.
– After three days, add up the numbers and divide by three.
Hormone levels can affect this, so be aware of what time in your cycle you’re testing. But if your number is below 97.2, there’s a good chance you have an underactive thyroid: hypothyroidism.
Natural Remedies
If you want your thyroid to function in its normal and efficient way, there are quite a few natural and effective remedies that can help. Then you can get back to living your life without worrying about taking your temperature any more.
Your body needs the right amount of thyroid hormones T3 and T4 for optimal health.
The first step is to help your body make a normal amount of thyroid hormones. Iodine is your thyroid’s number one nutrient because you need it to make your thyroid hormones, T3 and T4.
Here are some foods that are rich in iodine:
Eggs
Dairy Products
Raw milk
Dates
Cheeses
Potatoes
Chicken
Fish
Pineapple
Molasses
Parsley
Kelp
Seaweed
Salmon
Clams
Sardines
Shrimp
Haddock
Oysters
One drawback to getting iodine through diet alone is that it’s difficult to get enough. Most crops, from which you would have normally received your iodine, are grown on nutrient-depleted soil that lacks iodine. And more and more people have stopped using iodized table salt in or on their food.
In that case, you’ll want to take an iodine supplement. One thing to be aware of is that the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) of 150 mcg a day is only meant to be the barest minimum you should get. It’s the lowest amount you can take and not be deficient. You should get at least 300 mcg a day for optimal thyroid health.
I’m a big fan of kelp because it contains iodine. I suggest taking 3,000 mg daily for two weeks and then redoing the temperature test. Even though I’ve suggested other natural supplements, this is the one I advise ladies to start with first. The only way you can tell if a supplement is helping you with your temperature is to test it every two weeks. This way you can add one more supplement and see if that is helping.
If you want to take a homeopathic remedy, you should start with Calcarea carbonica as it’s been shown to increase thyroid function.
Another nutrient you need is the amino acid L-tyrosine. Your thyroid uses tyrosine as the second primary nutrient, along with iodine, to make thyroid hormones. You can get it from protein-rich foods, or take it as a supplement: 500 mg a day is a good amount for thyroid health.
The second step you want to take is to make sure that all the cells in your thyroid are doing their job as well as they can.
There are two herbs that are not very well-known in the United States, but that are used extensively for this purpose.
The first is known as the “Herb of Grace.”
Ayurveda – the oldest medical system on Earth – employs this herb in dozens of formulas because it has so many healing properties. In India, they use this herb to consecrate babies. It’s called bacopa.
But for you and your thyroid, you only need to know this: It can help your body by returning your energy levels to normal. It does this by increasing an important protein that the cells in your thyroid rely on for making energy.
A good amount to take is 100 mg a day, but make sure you get a formula that has at least 20% of the active ingredient in bacopa, bacosides A and B.
Another thyroid helper is ancient biblical herb called commiphora mukul… but you know it better as myrrh.
How can this biblical plant help you? Myrrh has powerful compounds called guggulsterones, which in animal studies have significantly increased the amount of iodine the thyroid absorbs.
The more iodine the cells of your thyroid can take in, the healthier your thyroid function will be. Getting 150 mg a day of myrrh should help your thyroid absorb the right amount of iodine.
The third step to a healthy thyroid is to help your body with the normal conversion of inactive thyroid hormone (T4) to active thyroid hormone (T3).
Your body uses a bunch of vitamins and nutrients to do this, but the most important is selenium.
Selenium, besides being one of the strongest antioxidant minerals we know of, is also critical because it helps make the enzymes that activate your thyroid hormone.
Fortunately, you don’t need very much selenium every day. But, like iodine, it’s very difficult to get through food. Our soil is depleted so there’s not much in our produce any more. You need around 100 micrograms daily for healthy thyroid activity.
The other nutrients your thyroid relies on are vitamins A, B, C, and D3, plus zinc and magnesium.
These nutrients and minerals also improve the transport and absorption of your now activated thyroid hormone into your cell tissues to return your metabolism back to its normal, healthy state.
The fourth step is to reduce stress. Stress of any kind stimulates higher production of cortisol from your adrenal glands. And cortisol slows the conversion of T4 to T3.
One of the best ways to offset stress is with herbs called adaptogens.
A powerful adaptogens perfectly suited for this job has a really strange name – ashwagandha. Besides reducing stress, it has also been shown to normalize the amount of hormones secreted by the thyroid gland.
Ashwagandha has some type of regulating effect on thyroid hormone secretion. In fact, the studies on this herb don’t show that extracts cause the secretion of more thyroid hormone. Yet the levels go up when it’s taken.
Scientists don’t know exactly why this happens, so there’s more to it than our “science” can identify. Take 100 mg a day for thyroid support.
If your temperature test is low, the fifth step is to avoid these foods as they can suppress thyroid function:
Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Cabbage
Kale
Mustard greens
Peaches
Pears
Radishes
Spinach
Sugar
Turnips
White flour
The sixth step is that you’ll also want to avoid any toothpaste that has fluoride in it. Also, avoid chlorine from tap water and bath or shower water. Simply put a shower filter on and a filter on your kitchen’s faucet that can filter these two culprits out.
You’ll want to avoid taking any prescription thyroid medication with calcium carbonate or any calcium supplements as they will block the absorption of thyroxine (T4). And if you are taking any thyroid medication make sure you KNOW if any other meds you may be taking WILL NOT interfere with your thyroid medication. Some to be aware of: Sucralfate (Carafate), Alu-Tab, Amphojel, Nephrox, Questran (cholestyramine), and Colestid (colestipol).
The bottom line: if after you’ve taken your temperature test and it’s not “normal”, I urge you to find references to a reputable “natural” health care professional such as a Doctor of Chiropractic who is known for his or her successes with treating hypothyroidism. Also, a Doctor of Naturopathy and of course a Homeopathic Doctor. You will want to go to a medical doctor to get a blood test for your T3 and T4 levels to determine if it is “high”. The blood test will not show what the temperature test will. Nevertheless, I’ve given you “six steps” in this article, but one of the more powerful “steps” is for you to exercise…take those steps to walking, or swimming, or any kind of activity that you enjoy as this is critical for your thyroid gland, too.
