Let’s kick off this beautiful day with some Praise! God is so gracious and good! Let’s just pause and breathe in the Spirit of God and fix our eyes on Jesus! Here we are Lord; take us to this place of peace…that peace that transcends all understanding.
Father God we come to you in the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit and ask you to touch those who are hurting and suffering, those who are wondering where you are…God we love you, but you know it is hard sometimes! Thank you for never leaving us…even when we can feel like a part of us has died!
Lord Jesus, you can take that part and make it alive! Fill us with Joy dear Lord as only you Can…You are the healer of all things that come against us! Wipe the hurt away and comfort those who need comfort.
Let’s take another minute just to say thank you!
I had the privilege to meet miss Laurie and she has shared her story with me…She is strong…
We don’t have to look for love and we don’t have to search …God is enough…Through Laurie, I see a treasure in the eyes of God…I see God’s grand love for a child of God that has at times felt forgotten, but she has never given up! Such strength she writes from her heart and now she has shared from her heart. I believe there are many people who are struggling in this world! I pray this beautiful poem reaches out and touches the hearts of many just to know how extreme God loves…
I have spent the last 10 years writing a book with you on my mind…why…because God put you there! I couldn’t quit even when I wanted to from being tired and feeling defeated! Why…Because God loved you that much that HE put you on my heart!
Thank you Miss Laurie Lanhart for allowing me your permission to share this Today! In the South, when the kids refer to me as miss Karen, it just simply warms my heart and makes me feel special with the upmost respect and so I address you miss Laurie in this Southern way.
Please protect Laurie’s heart…do not copy, share or publish in any way without Laurie’s permission…
THE WAY GOD MADE ME
by Laurie Lanhart on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 4:28pm ·
People always ask me,
Why do you care so much?
Why are you so loving?
Why are you so forgiving?
Thats the way GOD made me.
People always ask me,
Why do you take that?
Why do you let that happen?
Why is it so hard for you to walk away?
Thats the way GOD made me.
People always say,
GOD wouldnt tollerate the things you do,
GOD wouldn always forgive,
I always say
He died on the cross for our sins,
he loves us each and every one,
he does forgive as long as you ask.
GOD made us eachand everyone in his image, WE chose to do or not to do.
So when people ask me I say thats the way GOD made me.
Love is an ache that cant be forgotten,
Love is the highest acheivement to be gotten,
Forgiveness is Love of the highest kind,
Forgiveness is something you need to clense the mind
And that my love is the way GOD made me.
Ramblings of a Psychotic Mind

Yesterday, while texting with Laurie, I was sending her pictures of Blooms…Peach Blooms and Pear blooms…in the background of a sunny Carolina blue sky…
As she would say, that is pretty…Just the words from a friend who received my joy warmed my heart with God’s love…
Love is complete and not to be misunderstood.
The thought that come to me was this:
My Facebook status: Amazed at how fruit begins to form on a brown branch with no leaves … Just saying If God can do that on a tree that appears to have no hope (and if fact HE does)…then how much more is HE doing in our life on This Day and in fact He has gone before us to prepare our way! Beautiful Blossoms of Spring ~ New Life ~ Transformation right before our very eyes…
I hope that others who have survived like Laurie can know through her poem that you just need to hang in there with God and never give up on God…I just hope that others, including Laurie and so many others can just know that WE…every you and me out there are a treasure in God’s eyes.
How much more does God love you than he cares from the blooms on a peach tree?
There is another story to share…fitting her from Mr. Randal Thom. You won’t find a larger heart for God! His testimony of how God protected him in prison… one day, Lord willing you will read that in our co-authored book called “Outrageous Love”. God has gone to extraordinary lengths to protect Randy…Why? Because Randal Thom is a treasure in the eyes of God!
I have never met a more genuine creation in the likeness of God! Together Randal and I are led by God to write a book that Randy entitled Outrageous Love! Because this is the love of God that Randy has experienced! And you know what…so have I! WE the Body of Christ are the Church for Christ!
Randy is so willing to learn pureness and boundaries and such things that he said he just never really honored…he just didn’t know any better and He was one of the ones whose brain was wired that way for drugs! God this just breaks my heart what drugs are doing, but Randy has chosen to survive and not only survive but to Blossom for God!
It was not Randy’s fault where he ended up…Yes he takes responsibility for his actions, but I prefer to look at who Randal is Today! How too often does this judgmental world forget that Jesus had to draw in the sand to gain composure against such judgmental claims to persecute what they had no idea about WHY JESUS HAD COME!
Jesus come…Not to condemn us, but to save us from death (death is because of sin) and to give us Life …Life because of LOVE!
Please refer to John 3:16-17
Like Paul in the Bible, Randal is a strong disciple for Jesus! I was so moved and touched by His story. I hope this will be a blessing to you as well. All Randy wants to do to is encourage people to be amazed at God’s love. Can we join him in the family of God and praise What God has done for Randy and what God is doing through Randal! Same guy…just worthy of more names!
Like Laurie said, It’s just the way God made us…
The Feather blessing, by Mr. Randal Thom
You may know what I call the feather blessing?? A friend had told me about it many years ago…
Anyways what it is when you are out walking and God needs your attention he places a feather in your path and it is the message for you to take your eyes off the ground and look up to Jesus.
Anyways this is a picture of the feather I found my first day in prison when I was in the yard walking. So I picked it up and shared it with the guy walking with me. We walked around the track and in the same exact spot I picked up my feather my friend looked down and found his. We both knew there was only ONE feather there when I picked mine up…It helped my friend see a true miracle right there. As we walked, the spirit told me to go talk to this guy and tell him God didn’t want him to die. That God loved him…So being bold I walked up to that person and said those words. He looked at me and said…Wow how did you know I was planning on jumping off the tier tonight? I said I didn’t! God did.
He broke down in tears and shared how he had been on God’s team going in to schools speaking on how 10 seconds can change a life but had backslide and now he felt like a failure. We prayed right there on yard. We became good friends and encouraged each other in those first weeks he was transferred and I went to another prison. I have lost touch but God has just put him back on my heart to find him again. He got sentenced to 18 years for attempted assault with weapon he was high on meth
Psalms 37
Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Httlog
Encourage people to take the blessing story and have them be amazed by how God will set a feather.
Thank God for This Thursday! Randal Thom and I have a humorous word on that, but for Today, the serious good stuff. The Word from God that is for us All and fitting for Today’s Cup! And also DO remember to LAUGH Today which is Rejoicing in the LORD because we TRUST HIM so …and we also TRUST in HIS Promises!
From Randal’s FB Page this morning:
word from God today is LOVE go out in the world today and love someone strange, love someone like yourself.. love someone who thinks they cant be loved, and you will be blessed .. OUTRAGEOUS LOVE ALL ROUND
A Movie about God’s Love for Us
My FB comments:
Jesus said to me (I heard the voice of God say) “Remain in ME (Jesus) and I will remain in you. GOD IS LOVE! Remain in love and you ARE remaining in me. Love is described in 1 Co 13:4-8.
Amen to Randal Thom Love others with OUTRAGEOUS LOVE cuz that is exactly how God loves us all! Don’t pray (blindly) “God Pick Me” Let the LOVE Of God mold your heart to LOVE and PRAY for the unlovable…those who hurt you… (LOVE from a distant heart to physical abuse…But that Love that Laurie Lanhart writes about…The LOVE of God that fills our Soul…Choose PEACE/Choose Jesus and simply love with with the heart of how we were made to LOVE.
I stand up WITH Laurie…she just needs to know how much God loves her, because people and religion let her down!
I stand up for and with Randal, because I don’t have a choice…God ordained our friendship and I treasure his friendship greatly. I believe he helps me as much or more than I may have ever helped him!
In ministry, I am careful not to do anything to harm my work for God…But standing for those like Laurie and Randal… my dear Lord in Heaven that is what YOU have done! There is no other way…
And you know what… I like them as much as I love them.
How is it that we can love with our whole heart and still have our whole heart to love all people… through the love of God…that is how!
That is all the LORD wanted me to say Today.
Thank you for joining all of us on Dewey’s Daily Cup!
God bless you richly on this day and all the way to forever MORE!
Forever exists…I choose to live with those who truly love God and I thank God for people like Laurie and Randal!
I thank you both for your extreme courage and strength to trust me and do this…because God’s Word never comes back void and when God puts it on our heart to share…How can we Refuse Jesus now!
Blessings in abundance,
Karen Rowe

All I know is I’m not home yet…take this world and give me Jesus…ummm listening now…enjoy rejoicing in your day for this truly is the day that the good Lord has made for us to enjoy! AMEN!
Thursday’s Dr. Joe’s Medical Bag: Dark Chocolate
Why You Should be Eating… Chocolate! Huh?
I get this question a lot, “Dr.Joe, is chocolate good or bad for me?” My answer is a simple yes for the “dark” kind and an emphatic “no” for the milk chocolate kind.
Actually, the high-cacao dark chocolate kind should be included in our diets. Below are some of the known health benefits that cacao offers.
– Dark chocolate contains healthy fats. Cocoa butter, which is extracted from the cacao bean and incorporated into most reputable dark chocolate bars, is mostly monounsaturated and saturated fat, with very little polyunsaturated fat. And because most of that saturated fat is stearic acid, widely known for having neutral effects on LDL (the bad cholesterol), even folks who are leery of “fats” can nibble away at it.
– Dark chocolate contains lots of polyphenols (especially epicatechin), particularly flavanols. When it comes to polyphenol content and antioxidant capacity, cacao trounces the “super fruits” acai, pomegranate, cranberry, and blueberry.
– Dark chocolate and blood pressure. Epidemiological studies consistently show that dark chocolate consumption is related to lower blood pressure readings. One research study found that fifteen days of eating dark chocolate, but not white chocolate, lowered blood pressure (and improved insulin sensitivity) in healthy subjects. The main difference between white and dark chocolate is the polyphenol content; both types contain cocoa fat. Flavanol-rich dark chocolate consumption improved endothelial function while increasing plasma levels of flavanols (which indicates the flavanols had something to do with it). Another study used flavanol-rich cocoa to increase nitric oxide production in healthy humans, thus inducing vasodilation and improving endothelial function. In another, the highest dose of cacao flavanoids caused the biggest drop in blood pressure. Still another found that while dark chocolate did not reduce blood pressure, improve lipids, nor reduce oxidative stress, it did improve coronary circulation.
– Dark chocolate and cardiovascular disease. In humans, both with normal and elevated cholesterol levels, eating cocoa powder mixed with hot water lowered oxidized LDL and ApoB (LDL particle number is what you want to lower) counts while increasing HDL (good cholesterol). All three doses of high-flavanol cocoa powder – 13, 19.5, and 26 g/day – proved beneficial. 26 grams of powder is about a quarter cup. It also works if you drink it with milk (and no, Hershey’s syrup doesn’t work the same) or almond milk.
– Dark chocolate and insulin resistance. For fifteen days, hypertensive, glucose-intolerant patients received either 100 daily grams of high-polyphenol dark chocolate or 100 daily grams of zero-polyphenol white chocolate. Dark chocolate lowered blood pressure, increased insulin sensitivity, and improved endothelial function, while white chocolate did none of those things.
– Dark chocolate and Ultra Violet light damage. Resistance to UV damage is commonly measured by MED – minimal erythema dose. A higher MED means greater resistance to UV rays, while a lower MED indicates lower resistance. High MED, good. Low MED, bad. One study found that feeding high levels of dark chocolate to healthy people over twelve weeks doubled their MED; feeding low levels of dark chocolate had no effect on the MED.
The Best Kind of Chocolate
Most of chocolate’s benefits come from the polyphenol content, and most of the studies that saw large effects used “high-flavanol” dark chocolate, therefore you should be going for chocolate with high polyphenol counts. Dutch processed, or alkalized, chocolate lightens the color, removes some of the bitter compounds, and gives it a milder taste. Awesome for Hershey’s Kisses, but awful for the flavanol content and the high sugar content. Those “bitter compounds,” you see, are the flavanols. Without the bitterness, you’re missing most of the beneficial polyphenols. It might taste good, but it won’t perform all of the aforementioned physiological tasks.
To quantify the extent of the degradation, check out the results of this study on the flavanol contents of cacao powders subjected to various degrees of alkalization:
Natural – 34.6 mg/g
Lightly processed – 13.8 mg/g
Medium processed – 7.8 mg/g
Heavily processed – 3.9 mg/g
Once you’ve got some good chocolate with high cacao and lower sugar levels, eat a few squares a sitting. Exercise restraint, however, as it is still candy and it shouldn’t make up a large block of calories. Treat it like a condiment, or even a medicinal adjunct to an otherwise solid diet. If you’re sensitive to stimulants, avoid chocolate too close to bedtime as it will give you a restless night’s sleep.
When you purchase some high quality cacao powder (raw – which is actually fermented – or roasted, but never Dutch processed), try making coconut cacao milk. Mix half a (BPA-free) can or carton of coconut milk with a couple tablespoons of cacao powder. Heat on the stove until almost simmering. Add sweetener to taste and, if you’re adventurous, a bit of cayenne, cinnamon, and turmeric. Enjoy!
