Here is a great message from Janel a classmate of mine in Windom, she also includes a great writing!
Hi Dewey.
I received a phone call from Jim(Jim Hofflander who now is assisting in Daily work here at the Ministry as we expand at The CUP, Jim is being groomed to be a Pastor)) this morning, while I was in a meeting L, so I didn’t get to talk to him, but he did leave me a message about getting the JUST THINK story emailed to you.
But I do have to stay Sunday evening was a moment in time I will always cherish and never forget. What a GREAT evening to visit with you and then receive the surprise phone call from Jim. I felt like “queen for a day” hearing from 2 people that I have always looked up to even though I never told you guys that. I have learned through experiences to now tell people when they are appreciated before it is too late as I really don’t like living with those types of regrets. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way too many times!!
So here is the story for you Dewey.
JUST THINK
You’re here not by CHANCE
But by God’s choosing.
His hand formed you and
Made you the person you are.
He compares you to no one else –
YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND.
You lack nothing that His
Grace can’t give you.
He has allowed you to be here
At this time in history
To fulfill His special PURPOSE
FOR THIS GENERATION.
By: Roy Lessin
After talking with Jim and hearing about his ups and downs in life, he may not realize it, and probably not feel like it, but he has given a different sort of gift from God dealing with his manic depression as for those types of people who have no one else to understand them and what they go through, Jim knows and has the gift to listen to them, share his empathy with them and given them hope that they too will have brighter days, just like he does. I’m soooooo excited about his new job coming up as he will be able to use this “gift” that God has given him, not by CHANCE, but as His PURPOSE for Jim as he is ONE OF A KIND, just like you and I are. One of our managers has a sign on her door that says, “be yourself as everyone else is taken”. How true!
Take care Dewey and again, thanks a bazillion times over for your phone message and visit Sunday evening. What a Godsend you have been to me…..and Jim also.
You’re not here by CHANCE either……we all need you Dewey.
God bless.
janel
Thank you for your very kind word’s Janel, it is so great to hear from you! I love the readings you shared with us!
In getting ready for KKIM’s 40th Birthday Praise and Worship service on Friday April 13th at Legacy Church, you all are invited, please come, I had to put together a little history on the station for the program……….
History of KKIM
It was the dream of Mr and Mrs Frank Donald Hall from Pueblo Colorado to come to Albuquerque and start a Christian Radio station.
The Hall’s are hero’s of mine.
They put KKIM on the air when they were in their early 80’s!
As my Grandpa Caraway always said, he lived to be 94, I’d rather wear out than rust out.
That was the motto of the Hall’s and should be a message to all of us, to continue to serve until we are called to heaven.
On April 15th, 1972 the Hall’s signed on KKIM AM 1000.
Six months after the station signed on Mr. Hall passed on of cancer and then shortly after that Mrs. Hall had to sell the station because of finances to a group that called themselves, Montana Christian Broadcasters.
The station has been sold a few times but over the last ………. years has been owned by American General Media.
American General Media has been committed to KKIM so much that AGM put on KKIM FM 94.7 in June of 2008.
With the addition of KKIM FM we now reach 85% of New Mexico and the tip of Southern Colorado.
When streaming audio came to on our web site, we now have the World covered.
Over the last 40 years God has used KKIM to help lift up people to answer the call as Pastors, Missionaries, Church leaders, Thousands of people have answered this call through the Radio Ministry of KKIM.
Just think of all the families that have been strengthened through the Ministry of KKIM.
KKIM penetrates the walls of prisons and we hear from people in Prison on how the Radio Ministry of KKIM has helped them receive Jesus Christ.
KKIM is now heard worldwide on the internet and we hear from such people as Christian Arabs who listen to KKIM!
It is rare these days to find a radio station that has had the same format for 40 years, But American General Media is committed to keep KKIM strong in our LORD
In all this we say, For God’s Glory Alone!
We covet your prayers here at the Radio ranch and CUP Thank you!
Day 28 of our 40 day journey……..
Psalm 109:25 Old Testament Prophecy
I have become a person of contempt to my accusers;
whenever they see me, they taunt me, shaking their heads in disapproval.
Fulfilled in Jesus Matthew 27:39
Passersby shouted curses and blasphemies at Jesus. They wagged their heads at Him and hissed.
Let us be in prayer and reflect on Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let me now pass the CUP to Karen Rowe…………..
Your strength will rise when you wait upon the LORD is to be grasp in experience!
And Greater is HE who is in you than he that is in the world.
God is always right…God tells us that we need a Word.
We need the WORD of God.
Jesus is the WORD …
The Bible contains the message of the Word and we need to understand our knowledge that God has given us, because if we don’t know, then Satan will interpret God’s Word for us…
1 Thess 5 …. Gives us our final instructions
The Bible also tells us to think on these things…if anything is pure …lovely …worthy of all praise…THEN think on these things…
Why…? Because God knows that in this world we WILL have troubles, but greater is HE who is in us than he who is in the world.
It is time to shove aside, “Well, I don’t want to or I don’t understand or I am too busy…to read the Bible…” Because God is not telling you to think these thoughts! Satan is.
It became clear to me yesterday that God is using reading the Bible as punishment at a very early age to steal the Word of God from children at a very early age! I was told, “I don’t have a Bible and won’t read the Bible because…get this…my abusive father who ……did unspeakable things to me would lock me in my closet and make me read the Bible when I was bad.”
I am mailing her a Bible! And I really believe she received the Truth yesterday and will read it, listen for God in it and apply it! Like Randal Thom said, do we really have a choice, when we KNOW God is before us! The Holy Spirit Convicts us of OUR TRUTH!
Satan knew that if he could steal the Bible from this girl, then he would have some control over her for her entire life…and he has! The Bible contains in it the TRUTH the whole TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH that has the information in it that we NEED to SET US FREE from the lies that Satan is using to torment people.
I will close by saying that All Satan needs is a crack to come in your mind to manipulate your thoughts! Last night, Dewey politely asked me if I had anything for the Cup Today. My tired and overwhelmed mind Wanted to reply, “No” because I did not…
But think of these things…and I thought of JESUS. Instead I just walked away and really RESTED in the PRESENSE of the LORD (not powerfully praying on my knees) Just quietly submitted to listening to the quiet whisper of the Holy Spirit …
Then my answer was prepared:
“Unusually crazy day…I have nothing at the moment…tired and heading to
bed.
Everything is at God’s Speed. I will pray for you and the Cup as I
sleep…who knows…only the Lord.
Blessings.
Karen
God is good…now there’s a start 🙂 Night night mr Dewey.”
And with that I went to bed. Our strength will Rise when we wait upon the LORD and this is the message God woke me up to say!
I hope this was a blessing to you as God’s peace and joy are full in me.
Final thought…Words God gave my tired and beaten mind last night; my FB status update:
We need to know the Word of God. We need to put it in our heads and let it melt into our heart and when we need it, let it go from our head to our heart and come our powerfully from our mouth. Can’t afford NOT to know the Word of God.
Be blessed my friends! Blessed is experiencing God! Read HIS Word until it melts into your soul and be prepared in your daily walk with Jesus, because life is a journey; not a marathon.
Randal Thom is a very good Jesus friend of mine: HTTLOG is A silent heart honor to God in all we do…Randal Thom shared this with me and I am so blessed everytime I let my heart type HTTLOG! Reminds me not what I do, but What God does for me…that my name is written in the Book in Heaven ~ This is the agenda for Rejoicing (Luke 10:20) amen.
Randal says “aWHILE ago I thought of this, and thought you know so many people identify with WWJD wouldn’t it be neat for HTTLOG to become as identifiable… pronounce it HTTLOG Hallejuah to the Lamb of God. Or halleluiah to the Lamb of Glory… amen and amen
God bless you in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit,

Hope in Today on KKIM (and please bear with me as Rob asked me just yesterday, Karen, when are you going to do another radio show…I smiled and said, well then if must be time!)
God speed is the only speed we need, because God has perfect timing…not to slow and not too fast…God is the Author and Finisher; Alpha and Omega…the 1st and the last! HTTLOG!

Listen online to Friday night message free — “Breakthrough to Expansion.” See announcements. March 14 , 2012. Awaken to the dawn of a new day. Yesterday is gone forever. You have no guarantee of tomorrow. But you do have this day, this very moment. Today is to be holy unto the Lord for you. Set it aside. Cancel all or as much as you can of anything else. Catch the wind of My Spirit. Grasp after Holy Spirit fire like the flames over the heads of the first disciples. That wind and fire became the first Pentecost following the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. Make no mistake about it, that same visitation is available to you this very day. Holy unto the Lord is your motto for this day. Enjoy every moment of it. Ephesians 5:14, 18 (AMP) “Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.” Ras Robinson March 14, 2012. In your discussion with someone, revelation came. What was said was startling and eye opening. This revelation seemed almost directly opposite to ways you have been operating. This new revelation is causing some angst within. Don’t discount what was said, but don’t quit doing what you have been doing either. Give both some time to think through with prayer. Seek Me fully and totally. If you do you will not go astray. Both ways and concepts are right in their own way. “How can that be?” you ask. Keep seeking Me and you will see how both are right and not in conflict with each other. It brings you balance. Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 (NASB) “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven- A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.” Bev Robinson Scroll down to see “Photo of the Day” from our ministry to children in the Philippines. March 14, 2012. Recently, I looked on a wall above a bed in my parent’s home and saw two wooden displays of single oak leaves my mom had carved when I was a child. The Lord is saying, “I have gifted you with very unique capacities and aptitudes which are unlike anyone else. You have been equipped with irreplaceable skills and talents. Don’t be afraid to put on display the talents I have bestowed upon you. These gifts are for your benefit and My glory. Find your niche in life and continue to carve to your hearts contentment. I have positioned you in a place especially suited for you. Receive your position.” Psalm 139:14 (NASB) “I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well.” Kevin Robinson |
Let us now pass the CUP to Dr. Joe and the Medical Bag…….
I want to encourage you to build your snacks and meals from whole food, which means food that has not been processed and manipulated. Your food should resemble its source as closely as possible (e.g., fresh fish, not fish sticks). And this includes sugar. Even if you don’t have a reaction or sensitivity to sugar, continue to use refined sugar rarely, if ever. Instead, sweeten sparingly with the more nutritionally complex natural sugars such as honey, rice syrup, molasses, and maple syrup. Stevia is a great alternative.
If you suffer from weight gain, diabetes, inflammation, chronic pain, migraines, headaches, or depression, you might have sugar intolerance. Check with your healthcare practitioner and have them try you on the elimination diet, eliminating sugar entirely from your diet for a couple of weeks, then reintroducing it for a day to see how you feel. Most folks who do these are amazed at how much better they feel after breaking the sugar habit.
Remember these healthy habits:
– Take a high quality daily multivitamin to help support your body’s nutritional needs.
– Eat protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates for breakfast. Simple carbs and sugar fire up your insulin receptors and spark those sugar cravings. Starting your day with a sugary or high-carb breakfast dooms you to a day of up-and-down blood sugar levels — which will drive you to eat too much of the wrong things all day long.
– Shop the perimeter of your grocery store — avoid the processed foods in the center aisles. Read all labels and be wary of food that contains aspartame, neotame, saccharin, acesulfame K, or sucralose (Splenda). No studies have been done on the safety of mixing artificial sweeteners, and who wants to become a living, breathing test subject. So if you “must” consume them, do so prudently.
– Minimize or avoid products that have sugar, high-fructose corn syrup or corn syrup near the top of their ingredient list. Sugar can also be disguised as evaporated cane juice, cane sugar, beet sugar, glucose, sucrose, maltose, maltodextrin, dextrose, sorbitol, fructose, corn sugar, fruit juice concentrate, barley malt, caramel, and carob syrup.
– Keep a bowl of fresh ripe fruit nearby to snack on, to satiate your sugar cravings. Think primitive and eat fruit that is in season. The fresher the fruit, the more succulent and satisfying it will be. You may find you don’t need anything sweeter!
– If you are craving something sweet, don’t feel guilty. We’re often made to feel that avoiding sugar is only matter of willpower, but it’s much more complicated than that. Most of the time, uncontrollable or patterned cravings stem from a malfunctioning metabolism or low serotonin. Work on healthy nutrition and you’ll find your cravings will disappear.
– Indulge yourself sometimes. Remember, we have sweet taste buds for a reason. Try a piece of fruit first — you may find your craving diminishes. If you still want a piece of chocolate or pie, go ahead! But savor it slowly like a rare treat you may not have again for a while. Once your brain is allowed to fully register the experience, you may find you’re satisfied after a few bites. And, to help balance out the accompanying insulin surge, eat a piece of protein with it. Just make it a treat, not a habit.
– Remember that wine and alcohol are sugar. When it comes to sugar, having a glass or two of wine every day is just like a daily dessert.
– Take a short walk after eating, breathe in deeply, and be grateful for your blessings.
– Focus more on what you’d like to cook and eat than what you shouldn’t. If you listen to your body, it may surprise you with a craving for eggs, not a diet soda.
Finding comfort in the right places
After taking a closer look at what you eat, it may also be useful for you to examine the role sweet food plays in your life. This often ties into deep associations and emotions buried in childhood. Perhaps you always crave sugar in the mornings because you associate family, home, and security with the pancake breakfasts your mother used to make.
But just as a pancake breakfast won’t satisfy your emotional longings, fake sugar won’t feed your body’s needs— or real sugar, for that matter. There simply are no shortcuts in that department. Facing what is really going on in our emotions, our bodies, and our lives can be challenging, and it’s tempting to take the easy out, buffeted by sugary treats and comfort food. In my experience, that path only leads back to the same place — more pain, and eventually, sickness.
Bottom Line: I encourage you to nourish yourself from the inside out, with healthy food, self-care, healthy relationships, and constant communication with the Lord.
Thank you Dr. Joe!
