Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May God Bless you and yours always……….come with me now as we drink the blessings of this day……
How are you today?
My friends you must drink this CUP slowly…….The Lord is having me share much with you today..these words are not of me but of HIM, just for you!
We must be obedient to the Lord and share what HE gives us…………to share with others………Thank YOU LORD for Your Words this day and all days! AMEN!
Jesus got up from the meal…..and began to wash the disciples feet….
When He had finished……He put on His clothes and returned to His place.
“Do you understand what I have done for you?”
(DO WE?)
“You call me “Teacher” and “Lord”, and rightly so, for that is what I am.
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example
that you should do as I have done for you……Now that you know
these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
John 13:4, 5, 12-15, 17
AMEN!
I see where Scott Flurry got out of the Hospital..PRAISE GOD! Praying for your healing Scott.
What we see on TV and in the Movies is a Reflection of the morals of our Society……..
The picture of Sharon and I in front of Sam’s Statue was taken about 3 years ago we figure, sorry for those of you who thought we had been in Clovis, California! We had been looking for those pictures for the longest time and Sharon found them and we wanted to share the good works of Sam who created that statue of Ken Curtis, Festus in Gunsmoke. It is a blessing to have Sam here each day with us at the CUP.
Dear Dewey, I thought that picture looked familiar! LOL sorry... I guess that's one good thing about getting old... Old things look new all over again! WELL, it's still a Great Picture! You two look very good together! And very very happy! love, sam
Sam says, and also Alan Autry who starred in “The Heat Of the Night” as Deputy Bubba, confirms that Ken Curtis was a Christian Man. Both Sam and Alan say he was such a kind man and that sure comes off in the character he played in Gunsmoke. Alan also led Carroll O’Conner who played Archie in “All In The Family” and also the Chief in “Heat of the Night” to the Lord. Alan really helped Carroll when Carroll’s son Hugh committed suicide. Hugh also was a member of the cast of “Heat In The Night”
It has been a Blessing to get to know Sam, Dr. Joe Fawcett, Alan Autry, and Tom Lester, who played Eb in Green Acres, and also traveled with Billy Graham a bit, they all have given me an inside look at the Christian Community in Hollywood!
Remember Mr. Ziffel in Green Acres? Hank Patterson, he was a strong Christian Man.
Over the years Hollywood has been blessed by many Christians………
Now when you look at Hollywood we see much darkness………but we see the Salt and Light in movies like Courageous!!! I have found many people who say it is the best Movie they have ever seen! It will make you laugh and cry!!!
Hollywood made many changes back in the late 60’s. It changed TV forever and ever!
Instigation
The purge was instigated by CBS executive Fred Silverman in the late 1960s, following research highlighting the greater attraction to advertisers of the younger urban viewer demographic and the institution of the FCC’s Prime Time Access Rule, which led to the loss of a half-hour of network programming each night. While it is most commonly associated with CBS, ABC and NBC also followed a similar pattern. The numerous cancellations prompted Pat Buttram (“Mr. Haney” on one of the canceled shows, Green Acres) to make the oft-quoted observation: “It was the year CBS canceled everything with a tree—including Lassie.”[1][2][3]
The first rurally-themed show canceled by Silverman was Petticoat Junction. In September, 1970 The Mary Tyler Moore Show premiered on CBS. All in the Family premiered in January 1971 as a mid-season replacement. Both series provided the urban demographic, cutting-edge social relevance and ratings that CBS sought. These ratings successes prompted Silverman and the network to cancel Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, Mayberry RFD, Hee-Haw, Lassie, and The Jim Nabors Hour at the end of the 1970/71 season. The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour lasted until the end of the 1971/72 season.
I am pointing this out to you today so we can pray for the continued success’s of movie’s like Courageous, and for people like Tom Lester and Alan Autry who are attempting to launch Christian Movies right now today! I am also thankful for people like Sam, who helps us remember the people of the past like Ken Curtis who brought love into our homes for many years………Ken Curtis has been a guiding light for me for many years…to use Radio to bring forth the Love of Jesus.
I am very thankful for the family here at KKIM/KARS, all our programs who bring the Love of Jesus Christ each day, as we go up against a Dark World, but we are to be the Salt and Light.
Look what happened to America when TV killed everything with a tree in it……..Tv becomes darker and darker, We in Christian Radio and TV must shine our lights brighter than ever!
We can not get lazy, we must support each other and become stronger in sharing the Love of Jesus Christ, we must reach more people, and that is going to take you and me going forth and telling the story of Jesus Christ.
Christian Radio and Tv must be a LIGHTHOUSE to the World!!! Let us get busy!!!! AMEN!!!!! AMEN!!!!
For God’s Glory Alone!
Let me point my light toward Radio Evangelist/Author Karen Rowe……………I look at Karen and also see people like Dr. Kyle Martin who started their Radio Ministry on KKIM and now both are nationwide, For God’s Glory Alone.
These two, Karen and Kyle, have the biggest hearts for Jesus Christ. They both answered the call of Jesus when they did not expect it, to all of a sudden start a Radio Ministry.
I have been doing this for 37 years now, and the Lord has given me the discernment of Radio and TV Evangelists. Oh MY!, some drag and drag their feet when the Lord is calling them to Radio….oh my! Some want it……but they should not! Some want in, but they are not called, they want to really do it for themselves.
The Lord show’s me who……..and those who should not………
But Karen and Kyle WOW! The Lord sent me to them to say come………….
Karen lives in North Carolina and has been a member of the KKIM Ministry family for 4 years and now has written a book, “The Train Whistle”. www.thetrainwhistle.com
I was so touched yesterday to get my copy in the mail. I was so humbled……..Karen asked me months ago to write the forward along with her Pastor! I had never written a Forward before………
Too see how God is using Karen…….to see how God is using Kyle and Time To Revive……..both in different states and finding a home for their Ministry launch, KKIM in New Mexico, it is such an AWESOME testimony, I hold these two up to you my friends in the name of Jesus Christ!
Please pray over this program, Mining The Truth, with Ray Sturdivant, it is an AWESOME program in our LORD and is headed to Greatness in our Lord! You can hear it on KKIM weekdays at 7:35am.
www.miningthetruth.com
All our program are for God’s Glory Alone and need your prayers! We are so thankful for our Ministry programs……Yes! Pastor Steve Freeman and his lovely wife Sue! Another great program, Sundays at 8am. News Commentary with Pastor Paul Holt, WOW! Paul is one of the best news commentator’s I have had in my 37 years in radio!
And I call upon others to clean their ears out and hear the call of our Lord! AMEN! MEN! hallelujah!!!!!
Sharon and I are getting ready to attend the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Karen will be filling in here at the CUP and Pastor Mark Tross will be filling in for me on air. God Bless you both!
Last year at the NRB Dr. Kyle martin received the Genesis Award, for the best new Radio Program!!!!!!!!! For God’s Glory Alone
This is the first time Sharon is able to go with me, please pray for us as we travel and for the doggies as they are left behind at home with Brian and Gretchen.
Day 15 in our 40 Day Journey…….yes I know it’s taking us longer than 40 Days….but it is all for the Glory of God.My prayer is that you are letting this soak into your heart and soul………
Isaiah 50: 5-6 Old Testament Prophecy
The Lord, the Eternal, has helped me to listen,
and I do as He says. I have not been rebellious or run away from God’s work.
But it’s been hard. I offered My back to those who whipped me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard;
I did not turn away from the humiliation and spitting.
Fulfilled in Jesus Matthew 27: 26 and 30
So Pilate released Barabbas, and he had Jesus flogged and handed over to be crucified. They spat on Him and whipped Him on the head with His scepter of reeds……
God, who was, who is, and who will always be, knows the end from the beginning and He revealed through Isaiah centuries before Jesus trail almost the exact details of the beating, the scourging, and the humiliation Jesus would go through.
We need to share this story with all………This story is such a strong testimony to the World……..We must share this Old Testament Prophecy with the Word!!!
Heard a sermon awhile back by Pastor Bill Ruhl…….I had him give it after his TV appearance on our program……..He stressed the importance of us to read into the Old Testament….just not the new……..I’m going to have to ask Bill to share here at the CUP!
Thank YOU JESUS, Your wounds have healed us! We are unworthy of Your love and redemption, but You have never stopped pursing us. Thank YOU for suffering for me and fulfilling Your promise. Please help us to remember daily Your death on the cross, so that we may share with others the sacrifice You made. in Your name, AMEN!
We must be Salt and Light and occupy until the Lord returns, that is His command to us…….I will keep being salt and Light and repeating this call until the day the Lord calls me home! AMEN! For God’s Glory Alone!
I have to tell you that this Ministry Kathy Robbins introduced me to months ago has really impacted my walk with Jesus Christ…………….Let these words soak into today……….

February 15, 2012. I will soon bring a breakthrough in your life. “(I) the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.” Psalm 115:14 (AMP). You are desirous of a breakthrough of blessings. You have been puzzled why it has not come to the degree you desire. My child, that which you desire is far less than what I have prescribed for you. You have been waiting on Me but I tell you I have been waiting on you. There is a vital lesson you must learn. The world, the flesh and the devil have many instructions and much advice for you and you have listened to it. How has that been working for you? Listen to Me, go back to your first love and determine to listen to My voice as never before. Be quick to obey. Blessings will explode on your horizon.
Deuteronomy 7:12-13 (NASB) Then it shall come about, because you listen to these judgments and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you His covenant and His lovingkindness which He swore to your forefathers. “He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock, in the land which He swore to your forefathers to give you.” Ras Robinson. I have enjoyed sports all my life, as a fan and also as a participant. As an adult I played tennis and played well, but I was never a “killer” player. I usually didn’t go in for the kill if I got way ahead. I liked to win but I wanted others to win also. “I don’t want you to be a loser. I want you all to win. Get around people who want you to win. Avoid as much as possible those who want to rule over you to the point of pushing you down. It is good to win while wanting others to win also. This is My royal law. James 2:8 (AMP) “If indeed you [really] fulfill the royal Law in accordance with the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as [you love] yourself, you do well.” Bev Robinson Scroll down to see “Photo of the Day” from our ministry to children in the Philippines. On the tip of your tongue you have the power to tear down or to build up. You have so much of My word hidden in your spirit. Will you make the choice to cheer up, build up, and stir up? The world is longing to have uplifting speech given to them. Step up and be counted as one who accepts and embraces My challenge. Yield to My Spirit within you and speak with the authority you have been given. I am the giver of life. Joel 2:28 (NASB) “And it will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” Kevin Robinson |
Steps Toward a Healthier Life and Diet
For just one week, every day, keep a journal of every penny you spend and how you spend every hour of the day. How much money do you spend on coffee, gum, sodas, convenience foods, or for anything?
How much do you spend eating at restaurants, or on fast food, or take out? Jot it down.
Think about how you spend your days. Do you waste time reading tabloids, watching TV, surfing the Internet, Facebook, playing video games, or doing too many errands because you don’t plan your time well?
Then, ask yourself if you want to be spending your time doing what you are doing now and if you are spending your money the way you really want. Think of money as your life energy. It represents your time in physical form. How do you want to spend this kind of energy?
There is no right or wrong answer. It’s just something to think about. You just might discover that you have more time and money than you think to invest in yourself — and in the quality and quality of life and health that you deserve.
Once you’ve thought about your answers to these questions, choose three things to change that can give you more time or money. For example, don’t buy that $2 coffee every day — that’s $730 a year! Or give up watching just a half hour of some ridiculous reality TV show a day — that’s an extra 7.6 days a year! These aren’t hard choices.
We are all overworked, overstressed, and overtaxed! Even so, there are ways of making choices that work within our resources.
Now, if I’ve got you thinking, let me show you a few secrets of eating well on the cheap — and on the fly.
1. Healthy food doesn’t have to cost more. Research has shown that eating healthy, whole, real food isn’t necessarily more expensive than eating junk food, fast food, processed foods, or convenience foods (Raynor, H.A., Kilanowski, C.K., Esterli, I., et al. 2002. A cost-analysis of adopting a healthful diet in a family-based treatment program. J Am Diet Assoc.102(5): 645-650, 655-656).
In fact, the top four things purchased in supermarkets are ALL addictive drugs: sugar, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol! If you give up those “drugs,” your grocery bill will go down dramatically.
2. Healthy food isn’t hard to find. You don’t have to shop in a gourmet food store, a health-food store, or farmer’s market or eat only organic to eat well. There are plenty of healthy foods in your local supermarket. Just shop around the outside aisles of the store.
3. Healthy food doesn’t take lots of time to prepare. You don’t have to spend hours cooking complex meals to eat well. Good quality, fresh food is easy to prepare and enjoy once you learn how.
Now that you’re in on those secrets, you’re ready to start eating well. Here are a few ideas based on how to save time and money AND create better health for yourself and your loved ones.
– Search out cheaper sources of fresh, whole foods in your neighborhood. Stores like Market Street, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and shopping clubs like Costco or Sam’s Club, where you can buy vegetables, fruits, nuts, canned beans, sardines, and salmon at much lower costs than regular supermarkets or other retail chains.
– Join your local food co-op. Co-ops are community-based organizations that support local farmers and businesses and allow you to order foods and products in bulk at just slightly over the wholesale price. This takes a bit of advance planning but will save you money.
– Develop a few cheap, easy-to-prepare meals. Have the ingredients available at home at all times so you don’t get stuck eating food that doesn’t make you feel well or help you create the health you want. This takes a bit of advance planning but is well worth it.
For example:
– Almond Butter on Whole-grain Rye Bread with Fruit Spread
Take a slice of rye bread, add a bit of almond butter, and top it with sliced fruit for a delicious snack. You can even dip bananas or apple slices right in the tub of almond butter — which is cheaper to buy in bulk at a food co-op.
– Hummus with Celery Sticks or Carrots
In just five minutes, you can take chickpeas (canned or cooked yourself in advance), sesame paste, lemon juice, water, garlic, cumin powder, salt, and pepper, mix them in a food processor, and have fresh hummus on your table. It lasts a week in the fridge — and is a great source of protein, fiber, essential oils, calcium, minerals, and vitamins. Want to save even more time? You can also buy hummus already made.
Some questions for you to ponder
What have you been spending your money or your time on that you didn’t realize until now? How have you managed to eat and prepare real, whole food with limited time and money? What tricks or tips do you know in order to eat better with less time and money?
Thank you Dr. Joe!
