Dear Dewey’s Daily Cup Family,
My God’s not dead, HE IS surely ALIVE!
Some of you may be wondering who is this girl from NC who talks the big talk, does she really believe all she says; or is she a bit fruity? I wish I could tell you about all the fun things & carefree laughter in my life and …praise God, I like who I am …and ~ I am a bit fruity at times in a fun way!
However, when it comes to what I speak of for God …I am of a sane and of a sound mind! I’ll answer with a statement: The power of God changed me through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit! BUT I do not live in a fantasy world … I experience the power of God in the reality of Jesus Christ alive in every aspect of my life!
God got my attention and I changed my heart (and do so daily) for HIM because when God convicts me, I want to change and my experiences with God leaves me so blessed… that in my life, I don’t want another choice other than to be obedient to God, because I experience how loved I am…as are you …and so I share to encourage finding God on a higher and higher level each and every day!
If you know me, you will also hear me say that I also experience distance to God in my disobedience, so I am not proclaiming that I have it all figured out or that I am perfect; I am showing who Jesus is to me …
“I don’t have it all figured out, BUT God does … Follow Jesus!” and “Faith works best when we remember God knows MORE” These are my personal mottos…my faith is in Jesus and my trust in is God and also in Jesus and they will not fail me. I strive to be faithful and make the harder choices in life. So that is a little bit about who I am…
Let us begin Prayer … a powerful life-changing prayer taught to us by Jesus:
Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed by thy name! Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins, debts and trespasses, as we have also forgiven those who have sinned, trespassed & have been indebted to us … Lead us NOT into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine IS the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory! Amen.
God’s Word:
Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Dig for the hidden treasures in God’s writings! Open the Bible and dig! Anytime the LORD calls something to be written, dig for what God wants you to hear …Sometimes God will tug your heart to read or pray and do something good… But many times we need to DIG! We need to go to that mountain of knowledge that God has before us (seek PEACE and follow PEACE to gain understanding in our knowledge and Wisdom) Ask God what to do and where to go; how to serve and “what can I do to please you today God?” …and dig through something (whatever God puts before you or leads you to find) to discover what God wants us to know!
IF something is easy, the blessing is small…Dig, sacrifice your time and dig for your God-given knowledge and read God’s Word until you gain understanding of what God is saying to you and EXPERIENCE Blessed beyond comprehension! Trials will still come…maybe even harder, because Satan does not want you to know God’s Word…Satan wants you to remain a bit lost and confused. Because a bit is all Satan needs to use you …
Jesus is the truth …the truth, the way and the life to freedom with God…BUT DIG for the truth in your knowledge and apply your rightful knowledge to your life! The TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE but only if we apply with faith…
2John 15-16 says “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does –comes not from the Father but from the world.”
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7) And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Ph 4:19).
Romans 8:32 shows us how much God loves us “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all –how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Our job is to dig for God’s Truth and Change! Do you want a lump of coal or a diamond? God sees the diamond in you and God loves you so much! God loves us too much to leave us the way we are …
“God will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3).”
This was what the Lord had on my mind Today. Dig and do not let your hearts be troubled ~ Trust in God and Trust also in Jesus …and hear HIS message and obey HIM to have HIS perfect peace! Trust in God is our commitment to HIM when we can’t see to the other side of that place that feels so hard! We can believe and trust in God!
Romans 12:2 tells us how to know God’s will: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is –His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
“God has a perfect plan for us…He never does it all at once …Just step by step because HE wants to teach us…To walk by faith and NOT by sight.” From a facebook share of The Daily Bread.
I didn’t know if Dewey needed me today or not, but these were the words God wanted me to say and I am blessed by just being obedient and placing my faith in Jesus trusting God to move as HE wills … not according to my will.
I can’t will it done, but according to God’s will, I can follow Jesus and line up according to the will of God and be blessed by experiencing the power and love of God alive and working beauty through my life. We are blessed!
As I conclude the Cup Today …God gives good stuff, but we are still learning! Sometimes I feel like a failure (maybe you do too), but feelings do not mandate who we are! I may feel like I failed at times….HOWEVER, Jesus picks me back up and HE will you too!…God does not see us as a failure!
I have met so many good friends through Jesus Christ & and through the same heart here @ KKIM & Dewey’s Daily Cup! Of course Dewey Moede and through Dewey also I have met Randal Thom and Victor Martinez! Just to name these few today, but they have been such friends to me this week through KKIM!
The following was my Facebook status yesterday evening… as my words were my way to allow Jesus to pick me up…Humility, yeah, that word comes to mind, but through humility God makes strong! Confession with friends in Christ…so I share, because maybe you too need to be picked back up Today by a friend in Christ…
Jesus picks me up …He will you too…The only way that you are assured failure is to quit …Remember who you are to Jesus … and HE does not count you as a failure ever!
Don’t beat yourself up … Don’t give up … Instead make a choice to change …
Make the harder choice, learn from your mistakes {those things you wish you could do over} Thank God for every opportunity… and apply ALL that you learn to achieve success.
Success is the ultimate result of what you are looking for…
Each moment is an opportunity … and each failure is a giant step to succeed!
Know we are praying for you and here is an update on Victor Martinez: Thanks for your concern Karen! I had a physical yesterday and blood work today. The doctor is pretty certain the weakness is related to my back and some disc compression. The orthopedist I see on Monday will hopefully know more after viewing my MRI. I started having spasms at work today and my wife had to come pick me up because it wouldn’t have been safe for me to drive. I’ll probably stay home from work until after seeing the doctor on Monday.
That is awesome about your dad’s healing! I can’t wait for the same. Again, I truly appreciate you and all you’ve done. God bless you and talk to you later!
Victor
Victor has great faith! And He is clinging to Jesus and taking up his mat to walk! He is doing what God is leading him to do & not wavering in his faith! Victor is a strong man in his weakness …and to God be the Glory, Jesus is shining through this man of God! Stand strong in your faith and never give up!
There is another testimony recap of a young woman … I share because I believe it happened … I have seen great things happen … and to encourage someone else Today in your Faith, because God Can do all things when trust HIM and simply obey in faith. … httlog Hallelujah to the Lamb of God … thank you Jesus for what you have done for us all, included me.
A girl was called by GOD to go on a dangerous mission…God told her that she may die, but asked her if she would trust Him and go…She did go trusting Him…Her presence there brought the opportunity and the power of God to break Satanic strongholds from this country…Lightning struck the mountain of satanic sacrifices…and it Rained …It rained for the 1st time …….in … …The people saw God’s favor in the rain…A woman had a live 1st birth for the 1st time in …. 1st births had been cursed. …Then this missionary became deathly ill…HOURS to the nearest hospital , her body was failing and she was VERY sick…EVERY organ in her body was shutting down and she was told that there was nothing the doctors could do and she was dying. …A pastor showed up and told her that God had him up all night praying for her…This woman had a VISION of Jesus doing surgery on her body and this skin tone putty that covered the wounds…SHE KNEW SHE WAS HEALED! She knew that she was well, BUT when she woke up she was SURPRISED THAT SHE WAS STILL IN PAIN! …BUT SHE SAID THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE JESUS HEALED ME! …SHE STARTED SHOUTING FROM HER HOSPITAL BED [WHILE SHE WAS STILL IN PAIN] “I AM HEALED” OVER AND OVER AGAIN!…THE DOCTORS AND EVERYONE RAN IN TO CALM HER DOWN TO ASSURE HER THAT SHE WAS IN FACT NOT WELL AND WAS DYING, BUT SHE INSISTED …NO, I AM HEALED! JESUS HEALED ME!…A FEW WEEKS LATER SHE WALKED OUT OF THAT HOSPITAL HEALED AND MANY WERE SAVED THAT DAY TO BELIEVE!
STAY ENCOURAGED AND KEEP YOUR FAITH STRONG! DON’T WAIVER IN YOUR FAITH AND remember Abraham and Sarah …
Get your word from God about what to do
Then, remain in Jesus and be patient and stand strong on the Word that he gives you. By his stripes you are healed. Don’t let people’s thoughts pull you down, because people want a “drive-thru” God, but God IS perfection and Timing is in God’s hands.
Even if we die, we surely live with God!
God bless you and these are the words that were in my heart Today to share with you. I hope this is encouraging to you and I pray that this will bless you richly in your spirit!
NOW FOR THE TREASURE THAT AWAITS AT THE END OF DDC:
Dr. Joe Fawcett and Friday’s Medical Bag:
“Manopause” — How to be a Younger Man at 50, 60 and Beyond
The best way to refer to so-called male menopause is to use the term “andropause” to describe aging-related hormone changes in men. Other terms for the so-called male menopause include androgen deficiency of the aging male, testosterone deficiency, and late-onset hypogonadism.
Testosterone levels vary greatly among men. But, older men tend to have lower testosterone levels than do younger men. Testosterone levels gradually decline throughout adulthood — roughly 1% a year after age 30 on average. By about age 70, the decrease in a man’s testosterone level can be as much as 50%.
70% of men have testosterone levels in the lowest 30% of what’s considered the normal range, and many 30 year olds have levels lower than most 80 year old men!
Is menopause only for women? No!
Starting at the age of 30, most men undergo a gradual, barely noticeable, year-by-year drop in levels of the hormone testosterone — from a high tide of about 1,000 mg/dL, to a low tide of 300 or even less, which is a marked deficiency. One study found that nearly 40% of men over 45 were deficient, with levels below 300.
By the time a man is 50 or 60, he may be experiencing a host of symptoms from low testosterone, and mistakenly think those health problems are just the inevitable result of getting older.
The symptoms are familiar to anyone who is or knows (or lives with) a “grumpy old man.” They can include fatigue, depression, apathy, irritability, poor memory and focus, vague aches and pains, “trigger points”, myofibrositis, myositits, muscular weakness, low libido and erectile dysfunction, increased body fat; reduced muscle bulk, strength and endurance; and decreased bone density. Swollen or tender breasts (gynecomastia) and loss of body hair are possible. Rarely, you might experience hot flashes and have less energy. Low testosterone is also linked to many chronic health problems, including obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and low testosterone might contribute to a decrease in motivation or self-confidence. You might feel sad or depressed, or have trouble concentrating or remembering things.
If you’re a middle-aged or older guy who feels like somebody pulled the plug on your manhood (or you’re the wife of a mature man who wonders where her husband went and wants him back), read on!
You may have heard that testosterone therapy increases the risk of prostate cancer. Up to a few years ago, that was the nearly universal misconception among medical professionals. New research shows that opinion is probably wrong. Very wrong.
A new study in the International Journal of Impotence Research, by scientists from the Department of Urology at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, looked at 44 studies on testosterone therapy and prostate cancer, including four studies of men with a history of the disease. None of the studies showed that testosterone therapy increased the risk of prostate cancer or increased the severity of already-existing prostate cancer.
In fact, new studies show that testosterone might protect the prostate. In a study of 156 men with newly diagnosed prostate cancer, those with the most aggressive and advanced form of the disease also had the lowest testosterone levels.
Take the most conservative and responsible approach. If you begin testosterone therapy, ask your doctor to check your serum PSA (prostate-specific antigen, a biomarker for risk of prostate cancer), and more importantly to conduct the far more diagnostic regular digital rectal exam, to make sure you’re not developing the disease.
A few important points about testosterone therapy…
Make sure you’re tested for both TOTAL and FREE testosterone. Many doctors test only total. But that can be misleading, because what matters is not so much the testosterone in your blood (total) but the testosterone that reaches your cells (free).
As for the goal of testosterone therapy: aim for the upper end of the normal range, or about 20-30% below the top, which is a good healthy level. For total testosterone, 750-1,000 mcg/dl is a good goal. “Normal” will vary from lab to lab, and from age to age. Most often, “normal” simply means that you are not in the lowest 2% of the population (called 2 standard deviations) — and has little or nothing to do with healthy. Sadly, some physicians are not aware of this, and confuse the normal range of a test with being healthy. If facing one of these physicians, simply ask them if they would be willing to wear a size 5 shoe, or live on $8,100 a year — both of which would be in the “normal range” medically!
If you are going to have testosterone therapy I recommend a customized testosterone cream from a compounding pharmacy (http://www.apothecure.com), which is also usually much less expensive than pharmaceutical creams like Androgel, Fortesta and Testim — unless your insurance company covers the cost. A compounded cream is around $40 to $70 per month, compared to $300 to $1,000 per month via the pharmacy.
If using a compounded testosterone, 25-50 mg a day is usually optimal. If your insurance covers it, get Fortesta. Both of these can be applied to the inner or front parts of your thigh (as opposed to your arms or chest as with Androgel and Testim) which decreases the risk of it getting on your wife or the kiddos. If you’re thinking that it might be a good idea to get some on your wife to increase her libido, think again. Even a tiny fraction of a male dose can drive a woman’s testosterone sky high. Unlike a man, where low testosterone increases risk of diabetes, in a woman high testosterone increases risk of diabetes.
Testosterone shots are a much less desirable option, since they tend to create too many extreme highs and lows in testosterone levels.
Good news: It is very common that high cholesterol and high blood pressure improve as testosterone levels return to optimal levels with treatment.
Treating Low Testosterone in Men Under 45 Years Old
Testosterone therapy will tend to lower sperm count and decrease testicle size. For those who are finished having children, this is usually no big deal. But for younger men, there are alternatives to testosterone supplementation. These include the medication Clomiphene (Clomid) and the hormone HCG, both of which stimulate your body’s own testosterone production. Use the clomiphene first, and a simple test will show if it will help you.
The Clomiphene Stimulation Test for Men Under 45
If your testosterone level is low (under 450 in men under 45 years old), your physician can have you take the medication Clomiphene 50 mg at bedtime each day for 1 week. The morning after the last dose, check your total testosterone level. Over 500 mg/dl is an adequate response. Over 700 is a good response. If the response is over 500, take clomiphene 10-25 mg (they come in 50 mg pills, and may be cheaper to have made by a compounding pharmacist) 3 nights a week (each Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Oddly, lower doses often work better than higher. If your levels stay over 500 on this dosing, it is working.
The clomiphene will not work in about 1/3 of cases. In those settings, either switch to the topical testosterone creams as discussed above, or in some cases have your doctor use HCG.
When treating for low testosterone, it is good to work with a knowledgeable physician who knows how to do proper monitoring and dosing.
For men over 50 consider “The Optimized Male” (TOM) program at a Chronicity clinic near you to get a mid-life “tune up” to restore your vigor and balance. You can find out more about the program by calling (866) 443-4276 or by visiting http://theoptimizedmale.com/. Your car gets a tune up. You deserve one too!
If you suspect that you have a low testosterone level, consult your doctor. He or she can evaluate possible causes for your signs and symptoms and explain treatment options. You can’t boost your natural testosterone production, but these tips might help:
Bottom Line
– Be honest with your male doctor. Work with him to identify and treat any health issues that might be causing or contributing to your signs and symptoms — from medication side effects to erectile dysfunction and other sexual issues.
– Make healthy lifestyle choices. Eat a healthy diet and include physical activity in your daily routine. Don’t be sitting in your chair eight to ten hours a day: Get up and walk around at least every 30 minutes! Healthy lifestyle choices will help you maintain your strength, energy and lean muscle mass. Regular physical activity can even improve your mood and promote better sleep.
– Seek help if you feel down. Depression in men doesn’t always mean having the blues. You might have depression if you feel irritable, isolated and withdrawn. Other signs of depression common in men include working excessively, drinking too much alcohol, using illicit drugs or seeking thrills from risky activities because the opportunity is there.
– Be wary of herbal supplements. Herbal supplements haven’t been proved safe and effective for aging-related low testosterone. Some supplements might even be dangerous. Long-term use of DHEA, for example, has no proven benefits and might increase the risk of prostate cancer.
– The Bible Cure for Menopause a book written by, Don Colbert M.D.; you may want to purchase it to read more about “male menopause”. It’s loaded with some great information. Just be aware that he pushes his own brand of supplements that get pretty pricey. Make sure you get the blood tests I referred to before you take on any kind of treatment for low testosterone.
