The righteousness of God is revealed through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…Romans 3:22
Perhaps the heaviest burden we try to carry is the burden of mistakes and failures. What do you do with your failures?
Even if you’ve fallen, even if you’ve failed, even if everyone else has rejected you, Christ will not turn away from you.
Psalm 68:19 says, “Praise the Lord, God our Savior, who helps us every day.” Every day!
Christ came first and foremost to those who have not hope. He goes to those no one else would go to and says, “I’ll give you eternity!”
Only you can surrender your concerns to the Father. No one else can take those away and give them to God.
What better way to start the day than by laying your cares at Jesus’ feet?
AMEN!
I thank the LORD for my Dear Friend Pastor Leonard……..I thank the LORD for all my mentor’s…….we all need mentor’s! Who are yours?
I find too many people have none.
I encourage you to reach out to others…….let them know you are here for them.
I ask people to call me for a CUP of coffee, to sit down and talk…….some do, some don’t…..the ones that don’t, stay stuck in their world of isolation. Most of us know people like this…….maybe you are one of them.
I encourage you to contact me, I am reaching out to you in the love of JESUS CHRIST!
Victor had this to say about yesterday’s posting……..
Dewey, I love what you had to say today about spending time with your kids! I was blessed with two parents who above all else gave me their time. Even when I was age 31 my dad would come watch me play church-league softball, just to watch me and be a part my life. I didn’t appreciate it enough at the time and now dream of just having one more day with him on earth. He loved to tell me stories about his life, and what a life he lived. Born in 1910 in the territory of New Mexico. Learned the trade of auto mechanic by working on the Ford Model T. Experienced the Great Depression. Was a German prisoner of war in WW2, Purple Heart recipient, etc., etc., etc. He was 56 and my mom 44 when I was born. I was the youngest of their children, number 8 of 8, and lived with them by mutual choice in to my mid-twenties. They didn’t own a brand new car until my dad was in his seventies. He passed away at age 88 with his wife, surviving children, grandchildren and many neighbors around him. A very biblical and peaceful death. My mom passed at age 82 after living nobly with Alzheimer’s Disease the last 10 years of her life, also surrounded by her children.
It saddens me that my wife and children didn’t know my parents. My dad was gone before I married and my mom too far gone in her disease to be recognizable. I speak often of them but it’s not the same. I look forward to introducing them all in Heaven. Fortunately my wife’s parents (Jim & Margaret Montoya) are here and also generously give of their time to my kids, wife and I. And they give us much more than that, as well.
As the father of three small children, I’m fond of the saying, “The days are long but the years fast”. You don’t get those days or years back, either. But the memories remain. I’m thankful for mine and pray my children will be for theirs as well.
Victor
AMEN Victor! Thank you for sharing!
Pastor Leonard got me a subscription to “The Lookout” magazine, WOW! What a blessing.
In the Jan. issue I just got there is a write up by David Faust titled, The marco God in our micro world. It is AWESOME!
He says that Samford University Preaching Professor Dr. Robert Smith says, “We have lost our sense of the mystery of God”—-what he calls “the trembling adoration.”
WOW! I could not agree more……..driving home from our trip on Wednesday and seeing the wonders of the sky….the sunset…….made me feel the same!
What is our mistake?
According to Smith it is, “We try to demystify the mystery, unscrew the inscrutable, and figure out the un-figure-out-able.”
WOW! RIGHT ON! We want an answer for everything….Where’s our faith?
Psalm 19 invites us to ponder the mystery of God. This memorable Psalm of David escorts us from the farthest expanse of outer space to the most intimate part of our own inner space. It starts with God’s public glory in the heavens and ends with the private meditation of our hearts.
Now what I would like us all to do…is stop right here and grab your Bible and read Psalm 19………come right back after reading please………I am going to have another CUP while we read…….
From the Message Bible Psalm 19………..
God’s Glory is on tour in the skies………
Their word’s aren’t heard……
Their voices aren’t recorded……..
But their silence fills the earth… ..
unspoken truth is spoken everywhere……….
The revelation of GOD is whole……..
and pulls our lives together……
The directions of GOD are plain and easy on the eyes…….
There’s more….GOD’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure…..
Oh my friends……….I am so touched this morning by the WONDERS OF OUR LORD!
His Glory appears in the heavens
