Dear KKIM/KARS family,
May The Lord be with you and yours this day!
Thank you for stopping by today for a CUP! We love to have you with us. Today we have a message from Dr. Joe Fawcett on supplements. Dr. Joe has been a friend for years, he is based in Dallas and at onetime had a health program on KKIM. Dr. Joe also has introduced me to Alan Autry who played Bubba on the TV series, In the Heat of the Night, which starred Carroll O’Connor, I asked him if he was in the episode where Ken Curtis (Festus on Gunsmoke) made his last TV appearance before he passed onto heaven. He said he was. I told Alan that he was one of my favorite Deputies on TV!!! Festus first, then Barney Fife and then Bubba, played by Alan!!!! This is so AWESOME, as Sam a regular contributor to the CUP is the one who created the statue of Ken Curtis that is on display in Clovis, California which is near Fresno where Alan Autry lives and served as Mayor. Sam, I know you will get a kick out of this! Anyhow Alan is now making Christian Movies, the latest a Western!!! I talked to him yesterday and he is putting a copy of it in the mail for me and we will have Alan on NM News and Views soon to talk about it and the movement in the Christian Community to put out more Christian movies!!!!! Thanks to Dr. Joe for introducing me to Alan Autry!
Lord Willing, Victor Martinez will be serving up the CUP tomorrow!!! I am excited to drink it!!!!
Subject: THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE BEST TEACHER
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE BEST TEACHER
“This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it–the LORD is his name: `Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ – Jere. 33:2-3
The minister above all others should look deep into his own heart to discover the reason for his more pronounced views. It is not enough to draw himself up and declare with dignity that he preaches the Bible and nothing but the Bible. That claim is made by every man who stands in sincerity to declare the truth; but truth has many facets and the man of God is in grave danger of revealing only a limited few to his people, and those the ones he by disposition favors most.
Are we to allow our religious views to be dictated by ancestors long dead whose genes still stir within us? By no means. The Scriptures, critical self-discipline, honesty of heart and increased trust in the inward operations of the Holy Spirit will save us from being too greatly influenced by temperament. – A. W. Thank you for sharing Pastor Don Kimbro! God Bless you and Dorothy!!!
Life and Death……we experienced that at the Radio Ranch with the news of the birth of a baby girl and the sudden death of a man………..We must be prepared each day that it will be our day to go Home to be with our Father. As Don Piper says,”Heaven is a prepared place, are you prepared? I just don’t know if we Preach and Teach enough on Death. To me it is not a death, it is a birth into heaven. many people rush around each day…………like as my Daddy used to say, “They are in a hurry to their funeral.” So many don’t know the Lord yet, that is why we are here everyday to spread the word about Jesus Christ.
Read what happened at Sam’s place …………..Sam lives near Fresno, California………
Dearest Dewey, and Family,
Yesterday as we went about our business, visiting family and watching the A.C. man install a new Unit on our home, one of our Renters who has been here for at least ten years, came out to his rented spot to install a Toolbox in his pickup. Well, I noticed his truck out there but it is so often, I didn’t pay much attention..Such a nice young man, a Weight-Lifter. A Picture of Health.
At noon he was laughing with my husband that the ‘Toolbox’ package came with the wrong sized screws to install the Toolbox. My husband loaning him a tool to help. At 4.p.m. Another renter noticed No Noise coming from the shop and went to see what was going on. Apparently Tony didn’t feel good and just sat down on a pile of sheetrock, layed back and died.
My husband was frantic, I ran to try and resuscitate him, but he had been gone for four hours. A doctor also rents a spot and when he saw us, he came running to do what he could, but we were all too late. The Sheriff’s, detectives, firemen were out here till way after dark making sure it wasn’t suspicious I’m sure.
Tony was such a nice man, so very healthy and fit. 51 yrs old, has a large family. He has been in the Construction business for many years. So he was called early in life, and by the look on his face, So Very Peaceful. I felt like I was witnessing a Pass-over to EverLasting Life. He put the Lord First in his life! And what a Blessing that is to Know!
I am writing to ask that the ‘Prayer Warriors’ will Pray for his family. Especially his two children. I know today is a Tough day. Last night my husband didn’t sleep well, knowing he was the last to speak with Tony. I can only Pray that this will Stay with my husband and make him think of his own Death one day and Bring him to Jesus. Please join me in that prayer.
thank you, sam
Thank you for sharing Sam! Let us pray for Tony’s family. Just think just 51 years old. Let us pray for his wife and children.
A New Life…………..We have been praying on this for Baby and Mother who had a blood clot……..
From Jeneane Weaver
Twila Clifton arrived this morning (Tue) at about 11:00 am. She weighs 4.4 lbs. and is 17 inches long. She is breathing on her own, and they got her blood sugar up to normal. She is not even on any oxygen. GOD IS SO GOOD! He kidney is functioning as it should, and all the things we worried about are fine the best we can tell at this point. We are still awaiting test results, but she and her mommy are doing great. Jesse is sitting with us in the waiting room, and is very calm and relaxed. Keep praying, but it looks good as of now!
Thanks to Pastor Leonard for passing that along. It has been a rough week at Valley View, 5 deaths. Now the birth of Twila, a shining light to all! PRAISE GOD!

Thank you Pastor Jim!
Monday on New Mexico News and Views, Dr. Joe Fawcett, a long time friend of this Ministry was on with me to talk about supplements. I am in better health at 55 than I was at 25! The Lord has surrounded me with many wise people to help me, Sharon and health advisors, I call them Coaches! I have given up sugar after my sugar went up to 125. I lost 14 pounds. Sugar is a killer, it helps feed the terrible disease diabetes.
We are called to take care of our temple, modern medicine treats diseases and sickness. Supplements and homeopathic help prevent diseases. Let me also be clear about this: Christ Died for, Our Sickness, Our pains, Our Transgressions, Our Iniquities, Our Peace, and Our Healing, for By His Stripes we are Healed! We would have to misquote to exclude ourselves from any of these blessings! What we eat is who we are! I am very sad when I see folks smoking! Why would you put that thing in your mouth and smoke your life away? Booze, it seems some people are just bent killing themselves. Dr. Joe is here this morning to clear up confusion on Supplements. Make sure you are taking natural supplements, not the stuff you but at Wal-Mart and Walgreens. no synthetic vitamins please, there is a huge difference. If we paid attention to prevention we would be more healthy, but in our society it’s all about going to the Doctor and getting treated FOR THE DISEASE, NOT PREVENTING DISEASE. Many get mad about health care, but do nothing to prevent sickness. Your diet has so much to do with your health. yes, as you can tell I have a passion on this subject because I have seen what it has done for me and Sharon, and many others. This brings up another point about our society, we avoid prevention of problems and then get into a problem and expect others to fix it for ourselves. Look around, does it not make you sad seeing all these young people fat! My goodness! It time for a tough talk with the American people on what we have done to our bodies. We as Christians are called to take care of our Holy temple, not to abuse it! If you want to get really sick, end up in the Hospital! many people are getting SICKER than they were by going to the hospital. I know sometimes a Hospital stay and surgery are not avoidable, but do all you can to stay healthy please. These are the words the Lord has given me this day.
Study elicits alarm: Are vitamins dangerous?
Headline hysteria flooded the news this past week from a report published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, a semimonthly professional medical journal published by the American Medical Association. The study is entitled “Dietary Supplements and Mortality Rate in Older Women” – Arch Intern Med. 2011;171(18):1625-1633
TIME, USA Today, MSNBC, NPR, CTV, the LA Times and numerous other mainstream media outlets have all been running a juvenile hoax the past week.
Through various misleading headlines, they’re all claiming that vitamins might kill you. Here are some of the headlines:
“Vitamins May Increase Women’s Risk of Dying, Research Finds” – Yahoo! News
“Some supplements may up older women’s death odds” – CBS News
“Multivitamins linked to earlier death, study finds” – The Globe and Mail
“Are your vitamins killing you?” – Denver Health Examiner
Study: Vitamins may increase death risk in older women – USA Today
We’ve Been Wasting a Ton of Money on Vitamins and Dietary Supplements – TIME
Some common vitamin supplements could increase death risk – MSNBC
Dietary supplements risky for older women, study finds – LA Times
Supplements Look Risky In Study Of Older Women – NPR
Vitamins do more harm than good, new suggest says – Australian News
Women Who Take Vitamin Supplements May Have Increased Death Risk – Huffington Post
There are literally hundreds of headlines from mainstream news sources that essentially say the same thing.
At first glance, the evidence seems to support the news alarms, as the 22-year study involved roughly 40,000 women ages 55-69. The study concluded that the women who took multivitamins or supplements of iron, vitamin B-6, zinc, magnesium, folic acid or copper had at least a 2.4% increased chance of death. Calcium, however, reduced the risk of death.
The study claims to have reviewed the vitamin and mineral supplement use in these older women by mailing them 3 surveys over the years, asking them to recall what vitamins and minerals they were taking.
Americans buy more than $20 billion worth of nutritional supplements each year, so there seems to be good reason for this health news to cause concern. Or is there?
CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton cautioned,” The headline like many, can be deceiving. This study was based on associated findings; it did not show a biologic cause and effect.”
Duffy MacKay, vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs at the Council for Responsible Nutrition, reported his doubt about the study to the Los Angeles Times: “I’m concerned that (the results) will be overgeneralized, because they were based on self-reporting questionnaires and spurious statistical analysis.”
Even this crazy study’s lead author, Dr. Jaakko Mursu, an epidemiologist at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, concluded, “We would advise people to reconsider whether they need to use supplements, and put more emphasis on a healthy diet instead.”
There are huge problems with the study. The women’s vitamin consumption was not medically investigated or clinically verified. We don’t know whether they took them regularly, sporadically or at all. We don’t know about the quality or brand of vitamins, and multivitamins because they have changed radically during the past 20 years. Further discrediting the conclusions of this study, it did not differentiate between synthetic vitamins and natural vitamins. So for all we know, these older women in the study could be taking bottom-of-the-barrel vitamins found at common retailers like Wal-Mart and grocery stores. These are cheap multivitamin brands made with synthetic chemicals that claim to be vitamins but really aren’t. Most of those vitamins are made by pharmaceutical companies! And I would have to agree that taking synthetic vitamin E is very, very bad for your health, just like taking synthetic medications is bad, too.
By avoiding any distinction between synthetic versus natural vitamins, the study authors knew that any negative results would immediately be used to discredit ALL vitamins. This, of course, was done by design. Virtually all the conventional medical studies that look at vitamins use this same tactic, refusing to make any distinction between natural nutrition versus synthetic vitamins, which are really just DRUGS given vitamin “names.”
We don’t know what other illnesses the women had or the prescription medications they might have been taking. We don’t know other patterns of their health (smoking, drinking, exercise, etc.). T
here was no analysis of their causes of death beyond larger groupings; were they related to diet, heredity, element exposure, accidental injuries?
The truth behind the study is that the researchers asked the women only to fill out three surveys – the first in 1986, the second in 1997 and the last in 2004 – and report what supplements they took, what foods they consumed and a few other health-related items.
But marginal statistical conclusions based upon three self-reporting questionnaires over 18 years seem to be hardly scientific or something on which to base a major life or diet change. The study revealed that the risk of death increased by only 1%; 41% of multivitamin takers died, compared with 40% of those who did not take multivitamins. But couldn’t such a minuscule percentage be easily skewed by grandiose self-reporting alone?
All this is yet another case of quack journalism on the part of the mainstream media, which is largely funded by pharmaceutical interests, of course. They never miss an opportunity to try to attack vitamins and dietary supplements.
The bottom line here is that this study is less than useless: It’s dangerous, because it’s being used by the media and the mainstream medical establishment to blacken the eye of nutritional supplements using poor data, bad analysis, and specious conclusions – otherwise known as junk science. It’s been exposed: It’s a total mainstream media hoax
Again, to accomplish this hoax, they took a poorly-constructed “scientific” study published in the journal known as the Archives of Internal Medicine which was itself based on erroneous conclusions and then blatantly misreported what the study data actually showed.
This journal is owned, by the American Medical Association, which has a long and dirty history of openly attacking vitamins and nutrition. The AMA has been found guilty of conspiracy in federal courts and one in particular is when they tried to stop chiropractic. I remember that well because I was in chiropractic school in the early 80’s when they tried that. They failed.
This is fiasco of a study is a “survey study” — or what’s commonly called an “observational study” — It says absolutely nothing about vitamins. If this study was done in reverse, where vitamins were shown to be effective, no journal would have printed this study because it was so poorly done. By their own admission, they adjusted all the numbers for “age, educational level, place of residence, diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, body mass index (calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared), waist to hip ratio, hormone replacement therapy, physical activity, smoking status, and intake of energy.”
And then, just to throw some icing on the cake, they wrap all this scientific fraud in their language of statistical significance, “multivariable adjusted models” and other technical jargon that they hope will sufficiently shroud the reality that this study is complete scientific fraud.
If this study had shown vitamins to be effective at reducing mortality, doctors and critics would have bashed it as being total “quack science.” But because they could use the study to try to discredit vitamins, mainstream media decided it’s good enough to quote in their newspapers, magazines and news programs.
The reality of the situation is that most of these women were probably taking drugs given the names of vitamins and then packaged into “one-a-day” multivitamin formats that are toxic to the human body in the first place.
In western science, there is no distinction between a nutrient created in the lab versus a nutrient that comes from nature. But in nature, nutrients are different. Vitamin C doesn’t exist in isolation in nature; it’s always found with other supporting antioxidants and phytonutrients. Taking vitamin C from a plant-based source (camu camu, for example) is totally different from taking vitamin C created in a lab (ascorbic acid which is derived from coal tar). Today’s conventional scientists and medical doctors are grossly ignorant about nutrition to know the difference, so they make no distinction in their research studies, either.
We must remember that we can’t live off pills or even nutritional supplements. They are, after all, supplements. Nothing replaces a well-balanced diet that has the right amount of protein with minimal if any at all of simple carbohydrates like the breads, pastas, and sugary treats, but rather loaded with complex carbs such as the vegetables. And of course a daily exercise program.
A supplement is not a substitute for getting your vitamins from fruits and vegetables, but everyone should take them as more of an insurance policy. Realistically, people don’t always eat healthily enough to get all the vitamins they need. So before adding supplements to your diet, first build the foundation of a healthy diet of “living foods” including organic fruits and vegetables from good soil and from the phytonutrient rainbow red, yellow, orange, green and purple, e.g., grapes, blueberries and eggplant. I personally get 150 antioxidants and 200 nutrients from OrganoGold coffee that has the powerful herb ganoderma lucidum in it… it’s a delicious alkaline, low caffeine microbrewed gourmet coffee that every coffee drinker needs to be consuming instead of their highly acidic, highly caffeinated terribly unhealthy coffees that causes all kinds of health problems because it promotes inflammation. OrganoGold coffee is like a miracle of health and wellness.
I advise that you and your natural health care practitioner monitor your intake of supplements because you can overtake some. I recommend that you consult a reputable guide to supplements, such as Berkeley’s, “Wellness Guide to Dietary Supplements.” And finally, obtain and take high-quality and natural supplements – ones that contain organic ingredients.
