Dear KKIM/KARS/SHINE Family,
May the Holy Spirit come upon you today in powerful ways! That is our prayer for you this day…….
The New Testament tells us to instruct and teach one another, admonish one another, stimulate one another, build up one another, pray for one another, carry burdens for one another, confess our sins to one another, submit to one another, help one another physically and materially and encourage one another.
These commands my friends have been given TO ALL OF US! Not just Pastor’s and Church leaders, ALL OF US! That is how important the Body of Christ is! That is why we gather here at the CUP each day! We are to encourage each other and at times admonish each other!
The book of Ecclesiastes explains why:
Two are better than one….For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:5, 10
I was talking to Wanell Pate yesterday and we were talking about the Body of Christ and how we need to be in constant worship and prayer. The Body of Christ must pray against the darkness at all times, pray for all constantly.
Last night on NM news and Views State Rep. Nora Espinoza was sharing her frustration live from the floor of the Roundhouse on the fact the people’s business is not being done during the Special Session.
I would love to give each State Legislator a copy of John Maxwell’s leadership Bible…..I would love to pass it out in Washington D.C. I would love for YOU to get a copy!
As I just wrote the New Testament calls us all to stimulate each other, to be leaders……we have to stop looking at Politicians as leaders, 99% of them are not leaders! They are consumed by Politics, not the people’s business.
Leaders Bless People! Not CURSE!
Good leaders give the “blessing” to those they lead. In the Hebrew culture, fathers or patriarchs usually gave the blessing to their sons, rabbis and other spiritual leaders also pronounced blessings. Gary Smalley and John Trent in Maxwell’s Leadership Bible remind us that the blessing contains five key elements:
Based on Song of Solomon 4: 1-16
1. AFFIRMING WORDS……..Words that give hope and encouragement to the listener.
2. MEANINGFUL TOUCH: A hug (As many of you know I love to give what I call Jesus Hugs! Last night Sharon and I walked into a restaurant and the owners young son about 12 started a conversation with me and I gave him a hug especially when he said I looked in such good shape!!!! This young man loved that HUG! We must not be afraid to show the Love of Jesus Christ EVEN IN PUBLIC!!!!!!! If you don’t like hugs, shake hands……But I will tell you, many people are starving for a HUG! Many do not have anyone to HUG them!
3. EXPRESSION OF HIGH VALUE……A statement on the value that a person adds to everyone.
4. VISION OF A SPECIAL FUTURE: Provides word pictures that communicate potential.
5. APPLICATION OF GENUINE COMMITMENT: Do everything in your power to see that blessing comes to pass.
AMEN and AMEN! Now that is leadership, and it is so lacking in America today!!!!! We are all called to be leaders, so let us all step up our game!
We all need to be better leaders in our home, our Church’s, our workplace!
I want to be clear…….
As I wrote earlier The New testament teaches us to instruct, teach, stimulate one another BUT also admonish one another. We need to be accountable to one another! We have gotten soft and some of us cannot stand accountability! We must speak out about the darkness! We must not be SOFT when it comes to calling out the darkness in our lives or the lives of others!
During the last days of Jesus walk on earth, life became more difficult for His ministry team. The religious leaders and the Jews were persecuting Jesus, seeking to kill Him (John 5:16)
When things started looking up and the people wanted to take Him by force and make Him king, He refused and walked away (John 6:15)
“Why did He do that?: His disciples wondered. “This was His opportunity, and ours.” They were getting troubled. The storms were blowing hard.
“We have left our families and jobs to follow this man. We have a lot at stake. We believe He’s the coming One. After all, John the Baptist declared it, and we heard Simon Peter say it. Those two are witnesses. BUT WHY DOES HE KEEP IRRITATING THE EXISTING LEADERS???? WHY IS HE DIGGING HIS OWN GRAVE? WHY DOES HE MAKE SUCH HARD STATEMENTS AS, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?”
Jesus would not be controlled by others. He would speak the truth even if it meant confrontation and ultimately offense. If you and I desire the approval of men, God’s anointing cannot and will not fall on us.
We must purpose in our heart to speak the Word of God and perform His will even at the risk of offending others.
Believe me my dear friends, I have been experiencing much of that of late! For God’s Glory Alone!
Remember people in Jesus hometown were so angry with Him that they tried to kill Him by pushing Him off a cliff!!!!!!! Luke 4: 28-30.
The last week has been very tough for us at the Moede house but also heart warming in all the love shown by you folks. Sharon is going to be going through more tests and Buffy to the cancer Doctor today. Please keep us in your prayers. Sharon is doing good and so is Buffy. Buffy started homeopathic medicines yesterday. We give our lives to the Lord always……
Now I want to share with you the mailbag………….even a call to come to California and Preach…….Please pray about the Will of God for me…….I am being asked to go there..Come over here Dewey……I know I need to be in intense prayer every moment of my day seeking the Lord’s direction and not get distracted and spin off in to many ways….thank you for your prayers…….I will say I would love to go to California and Preach! I must say, we covet your prayers of the Will of God to be done in our lives as we only live for HIS WILL and to serve people! We so much covet your prayers that means much, many our praying for the protection of our children, thank you so much.
Okay mailbag……….
True love story just keeps going…..President Ronald Reagan and Nancy’s love story has been in the press again since the debate at the Reagan library…..We really have are own Ronald and Nancy here in New Mexico….Don and Dorothy Kimbro……
Hi Dewey,
Thank you for your kind words about Dorothy and myself and our marriage of 55 years. Yes, we truly love each other more each year. I think it’s because the older we get, the less we take for granted having another tomorrow. That helps remind us how very special each day is together.
Dewey, we want you to know that Sharon is in our prayers as we ask God to stretch forth his healing hand in her behalf (Acts 4:30). And He will. God bless.

Hi Guys:
I haven’t been able to call you.
Sharon IS in my thoughts and prayers.
Praying for a speedy recovery.
Lew Thank you so much Lew! Love ya!
Dear Dewey, Sharon, and darling Buffy, and all your wonderful followers
I am praying for all of you. For strength and peace and knowing that the Lord will take care of you. Buffy will be ok, and Sharon, I know they have wonderful treatment for Crones Disease. They are coming up with new and better medicines all the time. Hang in there, alot of it has to do with stress. Your body wears down and let’s so many things happen to it. I’m a true example of that. I try very hard to not have as much stress, but it creeps in on you when you least expect it.
I spoke with my brother in law yesterday and I get the feeling that he doesn’t think he’s going to get better. It IS a horrible surgery he went through and he has a long road ahead. Please keep him in your prayers along with my Sister who tries desperately to be strong and positive but I know she is so full of fear. I’m not able to do what I want to help them right now. I feel that since he is in a rehab, that’s the best place for him. Just need to get up there to visit.
God bless you all today and may our Dear Lord take away the burden of worry from you and any sadness. It will be ok.
Wish you guys would do a tour or something and speak in some of the cities here in Calif. I think you would have a huge following and it would be a sellout. Have you considered that? There are so many people I personally know that would come and listen to you. It’s a thought.
Have a beautiful day!

We are praying about the Lord’s Will to be done in coming to California! God Bless you Nicole, now stay on the Jesus track do not go off the tracks HE has put before you my dear!
Pastor Steve Freeman sent this in to me yesterday and said that this message holds true even after 9/11…you are so right on Pastor Steve!
SEPTEMBER 11
9/11
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD. JEREMIAH 17:7
For some reason I stayed home from work on September 11, 2001. I had just finished a three-mile run when Barbara met me on the highway near our home with a concerned look on her face. She blurted out the words, “We’ve been attacked!”
After watching television and learning more about the terrorist attacks, I showered and rushed to the office, where I met with leaders of our ministry.
We prayed and discussed how we would encourage followers of Christ to respond to days that were filled with fear and uncertainty.
Many of the reflections that I captured in the days following 9/11 are just as appropriate in these days of insecurity:
1. Trust in God, not men (see Jeremiah 17:5-8). God and His plans are not upset by the actions of men. He is the anchor in a storm.
2. Live for eternity and God’s kingdom (see Matthew 25:14-30). The things of the world seem trivial in a time of crisis. Determine God’s purpose for you. How does He want to use you to reach, influence and serve others in the cause of Christ?
3. Share the gospel boldly (see 2 Corinthians 5:20-21). People could be one breath away from meeting God face to face.
4. Embrace biblical family values now, not just when there’s a crisis (see 2 Peter 3:10-13).
5. Give others courage to live for Christ today and not wait for tomorrow (see Hebrews 3:13).
One of my favorite hymns in the days after 9/11 was Martin Luther’s “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” Perhaps you sang it in your church:
A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
Those are words to remember whenever we need courage to live in these troubled times.
DISCUSS
What do you remember from 9/11? How was your faith affected?
PRAY
Pray that you and your family would make God your “mighty fortress” in the days to come.
In the Love of Jesus Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
