Please drink this whole CUP……
“Keep your eye’s fixed on Jesus.” Pastor Garland Moore
“Hold fast that thou hast” Revelation 3:11
me and my doggie Buffy……
I spent part of the night on the floor with our doggie Buffy Anne. She had a large tumor removed from her mouth yesterday that Doctor Hopkins a dear man, tell’s us it could be cancer. When I came home at night Buffy and Reno always meet me at the door….there was little Reno last night and then slowly coming down the hall was Buffy even thou she was having much effects of drugs from being under during surgery but nothing was going to stop her from meeting Daddy at the door. I slept with her last night at then at 4:30 she was jumping around wanting to eat. I have heard from many of you that you are praying for Buffy, many of you know how our dogs, cats, horses come to be part of the family. I have learned much from Buffy, one of the main things that I have learned from her is loyalty and forgiveness. Please continue to pray for healing for Buffy.
Pastor Paul Holt gave me this scripture last night…this is from the Message Bible….
Good people are good to their animals: the “good hearted people” bad people kick and abuse them.
Thank you Pastor Paul.
This morning I want to go back to our study of healing. Here is a note from Pastor Don Kimbro:
Hi Dewey,
I appreciate your exhortations and your sharing the results of your studies on divine healing through your Daily Cup. Here are some thoughts that may be helpful as well. George Martin writes, “Just as we turn to doctors and medicine when we are sick, so should we turn to God in prayer. We should pray for healing: healing ourselves and others when we are sick, healing for whatever kind of sickness that afflicts us. We should consider it natural and normal to pray for healing, just as we consider it natural and normal to take medicine. We should have no more hesitation in praying for healing that we do in taking aspirin for a headache.” – Healing Reflections on the Gospel.
God has not only given us His promises of healing, which are numerous, but in James 5:14-16, He has the told us how to proceed in the church. I would hope that every church would follow these very clear instructions every time the doors are open and beyond and begin to see and experience many healing’s in the name of Jesus. What a powerful testimony it would be to the word of God!

Thank you so much for sharing that Don….I have come to realize through God’s Word that healing at times does not occur because of our own doubt and belief. What do you think of that? I am even talking about my own belief! Celina Lucero who is a prayer warrior says Buffy will be healed. Lars says Buffy will be healed….I must receive that for Buffy! I have a hernia. I must believe that I am healed! We must believe. The point that Don Kimbro shares is that we take drugs to get better, when we need to look to the Great Physician for healing! I have a picture in my office with Jesus sitting next to a Doctor, and the Doctor is getting advice from Jesus!
I am just a simple man sharing with you what the Lord has shared with me, we must believe and I think some of us still doubt God. No matter how strong our belief may be………there are times we doubt. Please read on……..
In F.F. Bosworth’s book, Christ the Healer we read…..
God has given us ALL THINGS……
He has given us the things that pertain to life and godliness 2 Peter 1:3. This includes all we need for spirit, soul, and body, for this life and for the life to come. Jesus purchased all this for us. God tells us He has already given it to us. Isaiah 53:5 and Peter 2:24 tells us that God has healed us. Colossians 1:13 says God has delivered us from the power of darkness. In Luke 10:19 Jesus said: “Behold, I give unto you power…..over all the power of the enemy” and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Romans 6:18 tells us that we are free.
Read this……..
When appropriating all this, God warns us, as in the case of Peter, to never look at our circumstances and feelings (WOW! THIS IS RIGHT ON!!!) The waves were just as high when Peter walked perfectly on the water as when he sank. While he did not look at them, they could not hinder him. The minute he looked at them, he doubted and went down. The wind also was just as great when Peter walked perfectly, as when he sank. When he did not pay attention to it, it could not hinder him. God here teaches us that if we are occupied with looking and feeling, instead of with Him and His Word, we will lose all He offer us. On the other hand, by steadfastly refusing to see anything but God and what he says, we shall have and keep everything that he says He has given us.
Mrs C. Nuzum in the book, Christ The Healer.
When I was 5 years old, some of you might remember this story, my Parents and I were told I may never walk and run like the other Children. I wore a full leg brace until I was 6 years old. I had child like belief and the support of my Parents and those around me. I never remember doubting I would walk again. I still have that brace and it reminds me to have the faith of a child.
One more from Mrs C. Nuzum…….
Satan is busy trying to take from us what we take from God. God bids us, “Hold fast that thou hast” Revelation 3:11. Jesus gave Peter power to walk on water, but the devil took it from him by getting him to fix his attention on the wind(I think many of us at times get fixed on the winds of life and what is blown into our days and times) the wind: representing the things we feel and the waves representing things we see. Peter had the power, and used it: but lost it by doubting.
Let us take God’s Word as the wholeness of the bread of life!
We must receive God’s promises, We must receive healing when it is spoken to us and prayed into us!
To me I receive all that is written today…….I receive God’s Word,God’s promises do you?
Let us pray on all this now…….now and forever and ever!
Let us check the mail bag and prayer needs………
Here is an update that Pastor Leonard passed along to us…..
In case you missed our Youth Pastor, Jesse Clifton’s update:
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on and write out the details of the last update. Caitlin was admitted to the hospital last Sunday for a large blood clot in her leg. Immediately, one doctor suggested we needed to induce labor for risk that Caitlin had a syndrome called May Thurner. As the week progressed we had a CT of Caitlin’s abdomen and thigh done to see if any clarity of May Thurner Syndrome could be seen. Although the CT was inconclusive, it strongly suggested that the only pressure on Caitlin’s vein was the uterus. We were told that this brought probable serious health risks to Caitlin including the clot breaking and traveling to her lungs and permanent damage to her valves in the vein which would lead to lifelong swelling and discomfort in her leg. Caitlin’s case was severe and was bringing a lot of attention from several doctors, about ten last time I counted. Throughout the week the doctors proceeded telling us of the probable health problems that would plague Caitlin if we did not induce. Under their strong recommendations we told them we would proceed to induce labor that weekend.
Thursday night comes around and we meet with our para-natalogist, the same doctor that diagnosed Twila with T-18. As we were talking with her it became evident that Caitlin could wait another few days without any more damage to her vein than she already had. This led to us asking if she could carry Twila another two weeks, then to carrying her another month, and finally to carrying Twila to term. Though Caitlin’s blood clot is much larger than most, on the blood thinners she stands as much at risk to carrying a baby as any other pregnant woman with a clot. We came to find out that her risk was no greater than any other pregnant woman. The only difference in the doctors’ eyes was that Twila has T-18 meaning she will undoubtedly die shortly after birth. To the doctors, any risk at all to Caitlin wasn’t worth a baby who was going to die anyway. We disagree. Inducing this past weekend would have been the easy thing to do. This chapter of our lives has been difficult knowing we will have to bury a daughter, and inducing this weekend would have brought us closer to the end of the chapter. But we are not called to that path. Twila has a right to life, as good of one as we as parents can provide. She should not be neglected, discarded, or treated like her life means less than another baby. Inducing Twila this past weekend or trying to carry her to term is the difference in getting to take her home, possibly. It’s the difference in her breathing on her own or being hooked up to a machine the span of her short life. I believe your prayers allowed us to have that conversation with the doctor who told us we did not have to induce. I believe the fellowship of believers who surrounded us either in prayer at home, church, or in the hospital room with us was a testimony to those around you and us. I believe because of your prayers, God gave us the strength to chose Twila over convenience. God bless you all for that. If you petitioned for prayer as a status on facebook or reposted any of my older updates, or if you simply want to spread the word please repost this. I want you all to be blessed with the knowledge of the effect of your prayers and encouragement. Caitlin and I still have a difficult road ahead and things are still going to get harder, but at least we can rest assured that there is an active body of Christ and that we love our daughter Twila like she deserves to be loved.

Jesse Clifton
We are praying Jesse and Leonard! We are looking to our Great Physician!
Hey Dewey,
I would appreciate if you could ask for prayers for a family who just lost their 22 year old son. Both my boys wrestled with this young man in high school. He drowned in Eau Claire WI last Wednesday night. Such a tragedy. I cannot imagine what the parents are going through. Pray the Gonzales family as they go through this terrible, terrible time of loss.

Dewey:
I received this from my friend Mary. Please pass it on for prayers! Thanks!
Hi all: today our family is once again suffering a huge loss. My brother, Don Floyd, of Lake Havisu, AZ, died peacefully after battling lung cancer for almost a year. He had been getting good reports about the efficacy of his chemotherapy, but took a sudden downturn last week and was hospitalized. Don, Mary Jewel, Thressa, and Dale, fought a courageous battle and never lost his faith through it all. We are comforted knowing that he was a man of great faith and endurance and suffered many trials in his own life. Please pray for his family as they prepare for his burial and try to resume their lives without him.
I have yet to reconcile God’s timing with our family this year, but continue to believe there is a greater plan at work than what we can see. Losing four family members in less than six months has been inconceivable, and yet we have faced it. Thank you all for your friendship, love, and outpouring of compassion to me through these ordeals. Please know that I will always be there for each of you if you ever need me.
God bless you … Mary Holsenbeck
Sandy Harrington
We are praying Sandy!
Good morning Dewey Sharon and all,
What a wonderful way to start the day and it’s amazing how God sends us the messages we need to hear right at that moment.
Our valiant German shepherd has been suffering with infected ears. I mean severely infected and we have not been able to get him in to a vet due to the cost. I called a new vet that took the place of ours that retired and told them the situation, Praise the Lord, they will take payments and take Harley in first thing Thursday morning he has to be sedated and will be there all day. Talk about a gift from God this dog has been truly all of that and more. I have felt so guilty when I look at him that now he will be taken care of and that is lifted. Please pray for him, he’s 10.
Please pray for my Sister and Brother in law, he is now at a rehab from his hip surgery and has no hip joint at all, just a cement ball full of antibiotics to get rid of his terrible infection. Then in 2 months he goes back in for the replacement. He is going through some very trying times, as is my Sister. Ron and Christine.
To all of you who have prayed for me and my family, I thank you. The power of prayer has no limits and I am grateful for them all.
God Bless all of you and have a beautiful day.
Nicole
Thank you for keeping in touch, Nicole. We are praying!
We are also praying for Kyle Martin’s Sister, Janae Werner, who is still undergoing tests. She has been ill since the Revival in Flint, Michigan. Please continue to pray for complete healing.
