Dear KKIM/KARS/SHINE Family,
May the Peace and Strength of our Lord be with you and yours!
WOW! What a Blessing to have friendships that make you a better person!
I am so blessed to have so many friendships that do that!
PRAISE GOD!
Surround yourself with Godly people! AMEN! PRAISE GOD!
Those who are in quarrels fall into a trap and are held prisoner to do the devil’s will!
When a person is deceived, he believes he is right even though he is not.
Those quotes come from John Bevere in his book, “The Bait of Satan” I have just started to read it. Coach Phil Arndt of the Heights Softball team told me about the book, it is excellent, I pray you will read it! If I could I would just read and pray all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to read so much!!!!
I could not live my life without the Holy Spirit. I am told by many, that many people are afraid of the Holy Spirit. I could not live without the Holy Spirit. Maybe it is the lack of knowledge that causes the fear. We continue our study of the Holy Spirit today as you drink this CUP! AMEN!
Turn your Bible to Galations 5: 22-23
The Holy Spirit imparts His nature to us. The Holy Spirit bears His fruit in our lives. The more we abide in Him, the greater the fruit! AMEN! We see much of the United States not abiding in the Holy Spirit, they are abiding in the darkness, The Holy Spirit reproduces His character likeness in us so that we become human embodiments of His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Do you have all that my friends? Are you bearing much fruit in your life? My prayer for you this day is that you are bearing more fruit for Jesus Christ than ever before! AMEN!
You can tell much about a man by what fruit, if any, he is producing.
The Holy Spirit shows you the LIGHT, so you can stay in it and stay out of the DARKNESS!
More on the Holy Spirit in this CUP,read on please…….
Last night the Heights Christian Church softball team won again! WOW! What a team effort!!!
Read this note from John who was on sandy Harrington’s program awhile back….please pay special attention to the quote he uses……
Dear Dewey,
It was great meeting you when I was interviewed by Sandy last week!
I’m reading a great book called Linchpin, by Seth Godin, and my
favorite quote so far is this:
“The people who work for you… [when] freed to be artists, will rise
to a level you can’t even imagine. When people realize that they are
not a cog in a machine, an easily replaceable commodity, they take the
challenge and grow… they’ll work harder, stay longer, and produce
more than you pay them to.”
I hope you’ll consider sending a few of your people (and, of course,
coming yourself) to our August 25 seminar, which is designed to just
that… help people rise to a higher level of creativity,
productivity, and job satisfaction!
Please visit http://johndillonspeaker.com/ for all the details and to

To the creative success of your organization!

Thanks John love that quote from the book!!!!!
It’s been 5 years or so since I interviewed Karen, she was suffering from brain cancer. What a testimony she shared with us on KKIM, it was a day of tears and joy! AMEN! Yesterday I got this email from her…….
Dear Family and Friends,
I have some news for you. Last week I was told by doctors that I have lupus. What I am asking you to do is pray for me. I have attached the prayer below, I believe that I can be cured from this affliction through prayer.
I was scared last week and cried most days because as most of you know my mother has lupus, she struggles with it everyday. So I know what this disease holds for me.
I am taking this opportunity to pray to Blessed Kateri. I want to help her become a saint. If you don’t feel like praying this prayer, any prayer will do. I feel that this is an opportunity to show people of little or no faith that miracles do happen!
Thank you for your prayers and your support in advance. I love you all!!!!
Karen “Missy” Mariano
Karen is a sweet Angel, please pray for complete Healing! In Jesus name AMEN!
Also please pray for Pastor Harry Chapman of Albuquerque, Pastor Mark Tross and Larry Moss told me Harry is going blind in one eye. Please pray for complete healing! We serve a God who is still in the miracle making business!!! AMEN!
On our study of the Holy Spirit ….Pastor Mark Tross says, many people are afraid of the Holy Spirit, they shy away from the Spirit……Many Christian’s do not know the Holy Spirit….
We continue today with these two notes from Victor and Pastor Don Kimbro……
Dewey, I’m getting your Cup again via email! Thanks for getting me reconnected. I’m thrilled with what you’re writing and experiencing in the Holy Spirit and hope to write you back later with a few comments of my own about it. So many Christians, including myself at one time, are so afraid and/or confused about Him, and therefore neglect His power and presence in their life. This is tragic. Again, I’ll write back later if possible but thanks again and have a good day, brother!
Victor
Thanks Victor, Now from pastor Don….
Christmas Evans tells us in his diary that one Sunday afternoon he was traveling a very lonely road to attend an appointment, and he was convicted of a cold heart. He says, “I tethered my horse and went to a sequestered spot, where I walked to and fro in an agony as I reviewed my life. I waited three hours before God, broken with sorrow, until there broke over me a sweet sense of His forgiving love. I received from God a new baptism of the Holy Ghost. As the sun was westering, I went back to the road, found my horse, mounted it and went to my appointment. On the following day I preached with such new power to a vast concourse of people gathered on the hillside, that a revival broke out that day and spread through all Wales.” The greatest question that can be asked of the “twice born” ones is, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed.” — Streams in the Desert, August 7.
Note: Christmas Evans (1766-1838) was a Welsh Baptist preacher who was often referred to as the “Bunyan of Wales” and “The One Eyed Man of Anglesea.” His revivals were historic. His last words to his followers before he passed away at age 73, after 54 years in the ministry were simply, “GOOD BYE! – DRIVE ON!

Oh My friends the Holy Spirit is with me this morning as I type this CIUP to you…He guides me, He is with me everywhere I go…
This study is based on Dr. Charles Stanley and his book, “Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit” Pastor Mark Tross calls Stanley, “The best Bible Teacher we have in the World.” Pastor Steve Smothermon says this about Dr. Stanley, “Charles Stanley is such a wonderful teacher of the Bible.”
Dr. Stanley is pne of my favorite Teacher/Preacher’s! God Bless him! Weekdays on KKIM at 8:05am.
Here we go……..
The Bible tells us very clearly who the Holy Spirit is—He is a person of the Trinity. he is God the Holy Spirit.
In Genesis 1, we read……..
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters……
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on earth.”
Gen. 1:1-2, 26
It is the Holy Spirit who was brooding over the waters at the outset of Creation. When the Bible refers to Our image and likeness, it is referring to the fullness of God-God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not a Ghost
The King James version of the Bible refers to the Holy Spirit in a number of places as the Holy Ghost. While that may have been an accurate translation at the time of King James, the word ghost has come to mean other things. The Holy Spirit is not an apparition, floating around here and there and manifesting Himself in a mysterious, now-you-see-Him, now-you-don’t manner. The proper translation of this term today is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the very essence of God.
The true you is not your body—if the Lord does not return in your lifetime, your body will die. At death, the difference between a person’s body and a person’s spirit becomes very clear. So, too, with God and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the living personhood of God, not manifested in a fleshly body—-that manifestation was Jesus—-but manifested nonetheless as the full personality and identity of God resident in us as believers.
The Spirit of the living God is not a “force,” he is Somebody.
If anyone ever asks you, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” I hope you will be quick to respond, “He is a person of the Trinity—-He is God the Holy Spirit.” And immediately, I hope you add, “He is God’s promise to me, God’s gift to me as a believer. The Holy Spirit is resident in me.”
Tomorrow, Lord Willing, we will talk about, How do we receive the Holy Spirit.
I’m told many people are afraid of the Holy Spirit, hard for me to understand, maybe it’s the lack of knowledge…I pray that this helps, and if you have any questions please email me. I could not live my life without the Holy Spirit, My Gift from God who is with me at all times.
We close this CUP with this WONDERFUL Story from Wanell………A lesson for us all!
Dewey,
We are beginning to study “friendship” in our Sunday School class and I wanted to share another word that was shared with me from my brother. This dad shares some words of wisdom with his son that we can all take to heart.
Blessings,
Wanell
Such good wisdom for all of us.
“When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I will never forget what he said: “Honey, I love burned biscuits.”
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And besides – a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!”
Life is full of imperfect things…..and imperfect people. I’m not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I’ve learned over the years is that learning to accept each other’s faults – and choosing to celebrate each other’s differences – is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that’s my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He’s the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn’t a deal-breaker!
We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or a friendship!
“Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket – keep it in your own.”
God Bless You….. Now, and Always…. So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine!
Thanks for sharing here at the CUP, Wanell!
In the Love of Jesus Christ, Dewey Sharon and Family
