Read | 1 Corinthians 16:8-9
The apostle Paul had passion and vision to reach the world with the good news about salvation. As he followed the Spirit’s leading, his determination proved effective. There’s no telling how many lives the Lord transformed through this man. And his influence is still impacting people today.
Paul knew that Jesus had instructed His followers to “make disciples of all the nations,” teaching them to observe everything He had commanded (Matt. 28:19). God led and enabled the apostle to do his part in carrying out this divine mission.
But think about life back then—that was a big task for a time when there was no mass communication. Paul could only teach, write, or train others to share the truth. In spite of limited means, however, he obeyed fervently and effectively.
God’s command is still relevant for us today. He has given us the work of telling all nations about redemption through Christ’s blood and resurrection. Compared to Paul, we have an abundance of communication capabilities—including radio, television, Internet, and cell phones—which provide easy access into countries all over the world. We could make more disciples by better utilizing these technologies. But how tragic if we get busy and fail to obey God’s command.
We stand at a critical moment in history for the church. The door of opportunity is wide open for us to share the gospel through a variety of methods. As believers, we are obligated to carry out Christ’s Great Commission. Be careful that neither busyness nor apathy keeps you from obedience.
Great words from Dr. Charles Stanley today as always.
I just so much love Paul…….I have followed his footsteps in becoming faithful to my Lord…….meaning I was a sinner and the Lord struck me down and I saw the light…..I love Paul’s letters of love and encouragement and accountability….
Paul’s testimony in 1 Timothy verse 12-17…….
I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry——one who was formerly a blasphemer, a prosecutor, and an arrogant man. Since it was out of ignorance that I acted in unbelief, I received mercy, and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them. But I received mercy because of this, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate the utmost patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Paul was in the darkness and then saw the light and had such a Godly Passion to bring other’s to Jesus Christ. I have that passion, please join me in carrying out the Great Commission in the United States of America..these are the darkest times in my 55 years. The darkness is growing in the United States…….Too many people including Christians are waiting for an economic recovery, I am sorry the Lord has shown me that there is not going to be an economic recovery in the United States…..We need to have a recovery for our Lord first and foremost and bring this Country back to God before anything else. Man has made such a mess of the United States because God has not been at the top of this Country, we have shoved God out.
We have made God shed tears over what we have done to HIS Country!
Is this the America you and I intended to leave our Children and their Children. I am not happy about how we are leaving this Country.
Last night on New Mexico News and Views, I asked Pastor Paul Holt if SHAME was still in the American Dictionary, because it seems there is NO SHAME!
I’m telling you what, when I was growing up Dad and Mom were not afraid to say, Dwayne, Shame on you for doing that!
It brought conviction to us….we learned right from wrong.now I think people are afraid now to say SHAME ON YOU! BECAUSE IT IS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT…
SHAME on us for allowing our Country, GOD’s COUNTRY to fall so much.
This is why we need to get busy and carry out the Great Commission and SHINE THE LIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST LIKE NEVER BEFORE!
Or have we become to lazy?
What do we not understand about God’s Word?
The Church doesn’t need fluff now..it needs PREACHING!
Chuck Colson says, Much of the Church has turned into a Big High School Pep rally, just to make people feel good, big pep rally, while the message of Jesus Christ get’s watered down.
God’s people need a call to action!
Read 1st and 2nd Timothy today………
I got an email from Kyle Doperalski who does a news program, News New Mexico, and he told me he was flying to Kansas to see his Dad who has heart surgery. Kyle said his Dad is doing well and I told him we would be praying for all.
Please pray for Steve Minor and his marriage.
I have several unspoken prayer requests for marriages. Some people do not want their names used. But please, pray for marriages.
I have never seen so many marriages in trouble.
I believe all the marriages I am praying about are of Christian marriages….people who were married in the Church, counseled with their Pastor, some leaders in their Church……so the foundation was or is there, but the winds and seas have turned very turbulent.
Sometimes, unfortunately, we only learn the value of something when we lose it!!
Psalm 119: 71-72
“it was good for me to be afflicted so I might learn your decrees. The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.”
Believe this……..
When the storms of life come, we can rise above them by setting our minds on things above, fixing our eye’s on Jesus Christ!
We can allow God’s power to lift us up and give us strength through any storm that comes our way!
Isaiah 40:31
“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not grow faint.”
