Dear KKIM/KARS/SHINE Family,
May God be with you today and always…….
CSLewis
The surest way of spoiling a pleasure is to start examining your satisfaction
Love these words……….
“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” St. Catherine of Siena
and these………
Dallas Willard contends in his book, “Hearing God”, Spiritual people are not those who engage in certain spiritual practices; they are those who DRAW THIER LIFE FROM A CONVERSATIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!
and best of all……….
The Words of Jesus…..”What is impossible with men is possible with God.” AMEN! PRAISE GOD! Luke 18:27
How are you and the Lord starting the day off?
Let’s talk a bit and have a CUP, I love my first CUP in the morning with you!
Are you starting off your day enthused in our Lord? Are you discouraged today?
What are you and the Lord talking about?
Yesterday was another very busy day at the Radio Ranch and I was told that a man name Brady and his wife were at the front desk and they wanted to see me. I always try to see folks even when I am up to my arm pits in crocodiles!
Brady and his wife stopped by, they were taking the day off on the way to the Movies. Today is the 14th anniversary of their little boy drowning in a irrigation ditch in Los Lunas, NM. He was 2 years old at the time.
Brady is writing a book on his little boy and the grieving process.
Tears were in Brady’s eye’s as we talked. We shared about grieving.
I told him that when my Dad suddenly died 19 years ago of a sudden heart attack the week he retired, and then Mom passing away 1 1/2 years later of cancer, taught me much. That is why James is one of my favorite books in the Bible. Especially James 4. Out of all that, I battled anger, and then decided to teach grieving classes here in Albuquerque, when we first moved here.
But nothing like losing a child………
At Dad’s funeral I asked Mr. Anderson the funeral home Director back home in Windom, Minn, What was the worst kind of funeral to do……..
He said, “Dwayne, a funeral for an atheist is horrible because they cry and scream and do not know where to turn, it is all over for them at that point, but the worst is when a parent has to bury a child.”
Yes, Brady and his wife continue to mourn at different levels for their little boy, they know he is in heaven, yes, but they miss him so……..
We must be aware of other’s hurts……..Brady and I talked about the dumb things people say on the death of a loved one. That is going to be a chapter in his book, and I would like to add to that. Even Christians can be insensitive in death. Some even go hide and don’t know what to say. Death here on earth is not talked about enough.
I gave Brady and his wife a new Bible….one that has the Word’s of Jesus in RED! I encouraged them to take this Bible and just open it up and read the WORDS OF JESUS! AMEN! Those WORDS are the best medicine ever! I shared with them that those Words of JESUS will bring much peace to them!
“Stop complaining among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:43
Please keep Brady and his wife in your prayers.
We are praying for the family of 12 year old Andres Martinez of Albuquerque who fell from a basketball hoop at school and later died in the hospital. He jumped from a platform onto the hoop and fell. He was setting up for 8th grade graduation. Please pray for the family.
Let us also pray for Jeanell’s Mother who has been recovering from a broken hip……
I would like to ask for prayer for My mom again she is back in the hospital with an intestinal infection. Thank you. Jeanell
Received word that Pastor Jim Montoya went though eye surgery very well. We are praying for complete healing.
We also received word that Army 1st Class Leroy A. Petry a native of Santa Fe, NM will receive the Medal of Honor in a ceremony July 12th at the White House.
He lost his right hand while throwing a grenade back at the enemy in Afghanistan.
Petry, father of four, was deployed twice in Iraq and six times in Afghanistan.
We Praise God for the Men and Women of our Military!
New Mexico continues to ignore, at least in my mind, the tremendously corrupt Judicial system and drunk drivers. This past week we have had more killings at the hands of drunk drivers. One of them had FIVE PRIOR DWI’s but the DA’s office shows that he had only one DWI conviction, I should mention this killer is the brother of the ex-sheriff in Rio Arriba County. One strike and your OUT! That is my solution, you drive drunk and you give up your car and license forever, and go to rehab for 6 months! There is no sense in letting these killers remain on the road and kill innocent people. Driving is a privilege not a right! What are our Government officials afraid of? The liquor Industry???? I think so!!!! They better be more fearful of GOD!!!!
Just think in New Mexico you can drive drunk, get stopped and be back on the road..some have 20 plus violations are still driving??? What does this say about us as a people, as God’s people???? We are letting these killers drive drunk. We must be the Salt and Light on this issue!!!!! What don’t we understand about this dysfunction???
I am tired of Politicians, like I interviewed a couple of months……”Well, Dewey we are making good progress!” I don’t think so! This past weekend is an example of the killings still taking place!
Kick the Liquor Lobbyists out of Santa Fe and that is a start!!!!!!!!!!!
Thomas Cole has a great write up in this mornings Albuquerque Journal on Jemez Pueblo wanting to build a casino in Anthony, New Mexico, teaming with Millionaire Jerry Peters out of Santa Fe. They are promising in a full page ad in the Las Cruces newspaper to raise the area from “the dust and despair of poverty”
Cole points out that they forgot to mention that Pojoaque Pueblo and the Mescalero Apaches have defaulted on bonds sold to finance their casinos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also gambling addiction is on the increase here in New Mexico and suicide from gambling debts!
Only God can raise us from dust and poverty…..Mr Peters…….
The Words of Jesus Christ…….”What is impossible with men is possible with God.”
Luke 18:27
AMEN!
If casino’s and slot machine’s and all that other UnGodly stuff could raise this Country out of debt, it would have happened years ago…but what this sinful stuff does is dig a deeper hole of sin! It kills us! It is the greed of the flesh that keeps looking for that magic bullet, but what it is, is a loaded gun that has fired and struck the soul of America!
We covered the following story on New Mexico News and Views it is also posted at www.newmexiconewsandviews.com
This story is unbelievable…….How can God bless the United States with this going on????

PepsiCo, the second largest food and beverage maker, bringing you products like well Pepsi, Lipton Iced tea, Snapple and Frito Lay potato chips has partnered with a research company, Senomyx, that uses human embryos in its research. Pepsi is funding the research and paying royalties as Senomyx is using aborted fetal cells in developing artificial flavor enhancers that are used in products like diet Pepsi.
Scripture is clear on such evil. Murder is bad enough, the murder of a child is unthinkable and heartbreaking. But to financially benefit from a child’s murder, using his or her body to create a new product takes unethical to new lows. Have we, as a nation, so seared our conscience that we can no longer see these truths. Should we sacrifice our children on the altar of gluttony, just so we can drink more soda and eat more potato chips.

We need to keep being the salt and Light and shine the light on darkness……Let us pray on these unGodly situations.
I know these are heavy on the heart, emotional issues, but if we don’t bring them forward who will?
Okay time to refill the CUOP after those heavy issues!!! Let us turn the page…….
Sharon found this good old story to wrap up this mornings CUP………enjoy………….
A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Wal Mart.
>
>She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired,
>
>freckle faced image of innocence.
>
>It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of
>rain gutters,
>
>so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout..
>
>We all stood there, under the awning, just inside the door of the Wal Mart.
>
>We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up
>
>their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall.
>
>I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the
>dirt and dust
>
>of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child
>came pouring
>
>in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.
>
>Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we
>were all caught in,
>
>’Mom let’s run through the rain,’ she said.
>
>’What?’ Mom asked.
>
>’Let’s run through the rain!’ She repeated.
>
>’No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,’ Mom replied.
>
>This young child waited a minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run
>through the rain..’
>
>’We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.
>
>’No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the
>young girl said as she
>
>tugged at her Mom’s arm.
>
>’This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?’
>
>’Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his
>cancer, you said,
>
>’If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything! ‘ ‘
>
>The entire crowd stopped dead silent.. I swear you couldn’t hear
>anything but the rain..
>
>We all stood silently. No one left. Mom paused and thought for a moment
>
>about what she would say.
>
>Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some
>might even ignore
>
>what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life.
>
>A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.
>
>’Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain.
>
>If GOD let’s us get wet, well maybe we just need washing,’ Mom said.

>
>Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions,
>
>they can take away your money, and they can take away your health.
>
>But no one can ever take away your precious memories…
>
>So, don’t forget to make time and take the opportunities to make
>memories everyday.
>
>To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
>
>I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
