Oh yes, My Lord, YOU must increase over all America, and we must decrease…….
I am being so filled with my Lord in the book, Torrey on Prayer, The Power of Prayer and The Prayer of Power!
The Lord is showing much through this book!!
One of those things is that many do not speak BOLD enough in the LORD! We have become a highly sensitive Church, meaning many in the Church have become Politically correct, and not Jesus correct.
Much of the Bible and history of Christian leaders going back to the 1850’s has been forgotten.
When you study the life of people like D.L. Moody and R.A. Torrey, they would be classified as what today? Nut cases????, right wingers???
They were filled with the Holy Spirit (Of course today many do not know what that means and don’t care)
They led many to Jesus Christ because they were not afraid to step out and tell it like it was, the truth’s of Jesus Christ!
They led thousands and thousands to Jesus Christ. And now with all this modern technology we have, are we doing a better job than what Torrey, Moody and others did in their day? I think not. We soft peddle it. Back in their day they realized God’s truth that they were dealing with whether someone went to heaven or hell, now a days we are afraid to say that! We afraid to say the word hell and some in the Church don’t even know if hell is for real!
Many of these Evangelists back in the day did not have two nickels to rub together. Money was not a priority, winning souls for Jesus was the deal!
It’s just like yesterday on KCHF, the event for CareNet of New Mexico and Just one Life for Israel……One of my hot buttons with the Body of Christ is how lazy we have become when it comes to the Abortion issue!! Come on now, how can we think Jesus is pleased that we murder His babies? When we get to heaven, we will have to answer for all this, Jesus is not going to care about what most of us care about.
I believe we have killed, oh some will not read this, it makes too many uncomfortable……we have killed babies that our Lord picked to cure cancer, be the President of the United States, to be a great economist, many Pastor’s, probably God had picked the next Evangelist to lead revival. When you think of abortion in these terms it really hit’s home.
I believe that, When we are in the Will of God, God promises to protect us and guide us…when we are out of the Will of God, we will wither. The bottom line is that we as a Country, the United States of America are out of the Will of God in many area’s, no hiding from that. We are withering as a Country because of sin. No new Government plan or promises from Politicians can change that! Prayer and Revival are needed in this Country. Before Revival, prayer must begin.
We must get our house in order.
Jesus makes everything very clear and simple in His Word.
But some how we have really messed it up.
We must get back to the BOLDNESS of R.A. Torrey…….
He was BOLD and PIERCING in his preaching (I will always remember the days of Billy Graham, the last Evangelist with that fire in his belly!) anyhow Torrey applied the Word of God like a hammer until it broke all resistance. In one meeting, Torrey so provoked a man that he stood up and shouted at Torrey, “I am not a Christian, but I am moral, upright, honorable, and blameless; and I would like to know what you have against me!”
Torrey, as always, was ready for the occasion; looking straight at the man and pointing his finger at him, he said, “I charge you Sir, with high treason against Heaven’s King!!!!!”
Torrey’s Revival’s brought thousands and thousands to Jesus Christ!
Another thing about Billy Graham was that he always preached on sin and made a call out to people to come forward and accept Jesus Christ. When I had Tom Lester, who traveled with Billy Graham for a bit, on NM News and Views, Tom said Billy Graham never preached a sermon without preaching on sin. Billy fired away……We have more so called Evangelists in the United States than ever before, but more sin, what does that tell us?
We need to be more BOLD in Jesus Christ!
We need more Pastor’s, and all of us, to study the history of Revival and the Church.

Dewey,The blending of the various stories in today’s cup reminds me of sermon I am led to preach from time to time as a guest speaker. It is a sermon about bees of all things. There is a Hebrew word for bees (debar) that uses the same root as for the Word of God. The short version is that the good honey making bees are disappearing not only here in America, but worldwide. What is moving into their place is something that looks similar but is not. African-ized (killer) bees have been taking over the weakened hives.
The bible says that certain things happen in the natural and precede the spiritual. The killer bee started with the mixing of bees in South America and they have worked their way north. The same could be said for Hezbollah. The Word of God is becoming less common causing our households and our country to become weak and susceptible to attack. The Lord told us that there would be a famine in the last days. Not just of bread, but of the Word of God. This is a choice that the people of God have made. Revival is still possible. The question is will we desire one?
This is a powerful message for the church and cannot be conveyed in a few paragraphs. For now it is still possible to find the Lord and His Word, I pray that we will hear the voice of the Spirit of the Lord speaking to the church.

Background
During the early summer of 1900, while bicycle riding with a Chicago publisher [probably E. O. Excell], for whom he was at the time preparing manuscript, he said to his friend: “I’ve got a song that is going to live!” He then gave the title of, and made brief quotations from, “O that will be glory.” He was paid $10. for the song.[2]
The inspiration for the song is said to have been a man named Ed Card, superintendent of the Sunshine Rescue Mission[2] in St. Louis, MO. During worship services at the mission, Card would frequently exclaim, “Glory!” and he became known as “Old Glory Face.”[3]
Charles M. Alexander had a great deal to do with popularizing the song, even though his first impression of the song was negative. He wrote that when he first saw it in publication, he said to himself, “That man has wasted a page, for I do not believe that song will be sung much,” but several months later he heard it being sung at a Sunday school convention, and was impressed by the enthusiasm with which the crowd sang it. Alexander wrote, “It took such a hold of me that I could think of nothing else for days thereafter. I got my friends to sing it. I dreamed about it, and woke to the rhythm of it. Then I began to teach it to large audiences, and soon whole towns were ringing with the melody.”
Alexander also saw college students in Kansas singing the song as they paraded in the streets, and about 800 people coming to a revival on a chartered train singing the song at the station.
Shortly after that, Alexander led a revival in Melbourne, Australia, and printed several thousand copies of the song for use there. “The next day, all over the city inquiries were made for the ‘Glory Song.’” He went from Melbourne to Sydney, where the song was equally popular. Alexander later took the song to Great Britain.[4]
It has been translated into many languages.[5]
Final notes…………
We are praying for rain here in New Mexico and Texas. In New Mexico we have had 29 wildfires since Saturday! No relief in site on the weather map….but let us pray to our Lord.
I do feel old….when I say we must be BOLD, I can get 10 different definitions of that in this World today. I do feel outdated many times….and not of this world………..

I look at what the secular news departments cover each day and my heart sinks……..to think many go about their day with that as their daily information…..so sad and heart breaking……..
