Dear KKIM/KARS Family, Let us RISE UP and serve our LORD today! I love this quote from Zig……… You cannot make it as a wandering generality. You must become a meaningful specific. Zig Ziglar WOW! if you read over that and pray on it………it will have a HUGE impact on your walk with Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!! Keep focused on Jesus! Keep focused on the TRUTH…….do not become of this World! I got this not from our Friend Gloria who reads the CUP everyday! Let me take this time to thank you all for your encouragement in our Ministry work. For God’s Glory Alone! I also thank all of my mentor’s…….. Dewey, would you have a written transcript of your message today? I would love to study it. Thank you! Gloria Johnson Thank you Gloria…….If you saw the News desk at KKIM during NM News and Views I have notes, books all over the place……..the same when I preach……..The Lord directs my words and I am ready to put forth those words on His command. I always have a general theme, but will move quickly to the words the Lord gives me. Bob from our Church told me, “You really talk to us as individual’s, you meet us where we are at.” PRAISE GOD! I share this with you to bring Glory and Honor to our LORDF for what he has done and is doing in my life, since I have completely surrendered to HIM! It is not about me, as you can do the same in your life, no matter what you do, as long as you surrender completely to the Lord. The Lord will lead you……..there is total freedom in this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use an outline when it comes to preaching……….. I have been getting more requests of late for copies of my sermons and comments on NM News and Views. These are not my words, but the words our Lord! What I Preached on yesterday was the Great Commission and Prayer……… I referred to this……….. Prayer… Prayer is the essence of the Spiritual life without which all ministry loses its meaning. It is the fulfillment of the great commandment to love the Lord with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind…..To pray is to unite ourselves with Jesus and lift up the whole world through Him to God in a cry of forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and mercy….Most of all, prayer is the way to become and remain part of Jesus mission to draw all people to the intimacy of God’s love.” by Henri Nouwen, The Only Necessary Thing: Living a Prayerful Life. I shared the importance of Nouwen’s words…….read it over and over pray on it…..your prayer life will mean more to you! I shares that Barna Research shows that 95% of American Christians pray for their needs, while just 5% pray for the needs of others….It was found that Christians in Foreign Countries turn that around, 95% pray for the needs of others and just 5% pray for their needs. There is a message in their for all of us. Think of other’s more and not ourselves so much. When the Disciples heard Jesus pray, it was not like any prayers they had ever heard before. He prayed as if He were talking to a real person, someone who was actually listening to what He said. Do we believe that? Do we actually believe that? That God hears our prayers? Do we talk to GOD as if HE is Listening? Think about that, pray on that. One of the most common questions I get.or it can be as a comment is, “My prayers have not been answered, or I just keep praying……..” Back in Feb. pastor Leonard Navarre sent me notes on a study he was doing at Valley View on unanswered prayer. There are reasons that God chooses not to hear or answer our prayers……and He also may answer them in a way we do not expect. We are also on God’s time not ours. Now let me give you one of the verses that will make us understand why our prayers me not be heard or answered……. Proverbs 28:9 One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. That should be clear to all of us! It is right there in God’s Word and that is all I need to know! We spend much time thinking about prayer……..and many of us do pray often, that is a main focus here at KKIM/KARS and the CUP, but do we study why our prayers may not be answered? Do we look at ourselves, Do we get right with the Lord as we pray? Also this from James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Where are you putting your resources? Okay, Guys………1 Peter 2: 7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. That is why I went outside in and picked Sharon a rose before Church yesterday!!!!! yes I did!!! That got a laugh yesterday!!! I will write more on this as the Lord leads……….. Here is a note from our Dear, Dear, Friend Karen Rowe who is on KKIM Thursdays at 2:45pm……. Dear Pastor Dewey, Good message! When I talk to you I will tell you about hearing the voice of God that protected me from a bolt of lightening! I heard, because I believed…I prayed because I believed and God protected me because I believed…and applied faith to be obedient! Days later, God lead me to scriptures that spoke of his POWER, love and devotion! Jesus prayed like that because he believed…God’s will for us is to be more like Jesus! Peter got out of the boat because he believed on Jesus for who he is, Jesus is the Christ who is the son of the living God! God hopes that we will act like Jesus, talk like Jesus and believe like Jesus, but more than anything, God hopes that we will have a believing heart like Jesus to trust God. We already are saved, we must just first accept God’s love and forgiveness; we already have strength…we must first seek Jesus to find it, we already have faith, we must first believe to use it… I agree, sometimes we pray away from the will of God or try to fit a scripture into our situation…that’s seeking control over the situation; Instead, we are called to seek God first and trust him in our situation and align our life and our situation to scripture, with complete trust in God! Here’s an example: I was thinking about how to change a situation that seemed to steal my joy 2-3 times a week…(there are times to change our situation, but this was different…this was more of a selfish motivation) The Scripture, “Be joyful always” came to mind…and it was in that moment that I realized… We have a choice in our joy, but not always do we have control over a situation. My prayer should not have been, Lord take this situation from me… My prayer was Lord help me understand…and he did! Not only did peace come to me immediately, but that was the first day (and maybe the only day) that my situation was easier on these days. Peace and joy are the goal! Turmoil, etc type of worries in our life about money, jobs, etc, are not from God, because God provides all the good things we need…FEAR is not from God! God gives us a spirit of power, love and one of a sound mind! Living a good life with God is our goal and prayer, because God is our security…And God’s way is always woven with peace though every situation! Our joy is found in knowing that God always keeps his promises to us! Love never fails… God’s agape love never fails! 1 Cor 13 tells us how to remain in Jesus! We can pray for God to show us if our heart is aligning with his agape love…but 1st we must believe! And then we seek God’s direction with a willing heart to change… Read Job 38 and Job 39 …God SPOKE…We can see God’s power! We can see God’s love and devotion! We can see God’s power love and devotion in these scripture that God spoke to Job and today, in addition to scriptures, we can look at the sky and believe that God is the same God who spoke these words to Job! We must first believe… The very 1st scripture in the Bible calls us to believe “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Love in Christ, Karen PS… I call you Pastor Dewey, because of respect! RESPECT We learn it We earn it I see you as one who has learned respect through your walk with Jesus… and through your work for the glory of God, you have earned respect. All for the glory of God!!! Sharon and I had so much fun in Church yesterday…we had our serious moments, but also lot’s of fun and laughter! Jimmy, a member of our Church came up to me and said, “This is the best Church I have ever attended, it’s small., but it’s big for God in many ways!” PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD! For God’s Glory Alone! What is keeping you from going to Church on Sundays? I would love to hear from you! I offer me help and prayers to you…email me..I meet so many, many that are mad at the last Church they attended, or have been hurt. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.” WOW! So TRUE AMEN AMEN!!!! We all need the Body of Christ!!!! Give up on yourself………….Give yourself to Christ!
