One Nation Under God!
Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord. Psalm 33:12
Thank you for stopping by for a CUP! WOW! Just got off the phone with Kay Hendrickson who has organized the National Day of Prayer event at Cross of Hope Church here in Albuquerque on the Westside. It all begins at 7am tomorrow. I am so fired up in our LORD to be one of the speakers! For more info go to www.crossofhope.org ; You can go to www.nationaldayofprayer.com for an event near you. Pastor Mark Tross was on the air with me yesterday on NM News and Views, he will be at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe speaking, and he tells me that Governor Martinez will be reading the National Day of Prayer proclamation!!! WOW! Mark believes this will be the first time ever in New Mexico that the Proclamation will be read by a Governor of our State! PRAISE GOD LET THE LIGHT SHINE!!!
There are other National Day of Prayer events all over the State of New Mexico and throughout our Nation, please go to www.nationaldayofprayer.com. I know that Pastor Don Kimbro and Pastor Jim Montoya will be in Belen.
I strongly encourage you to take time out of your day and attend a prayer event wherever you live. I pray that our Nation will start praying everyday at Noon. We as a Nation, One Nation under God, must repent of our sins, and bring God back into the United States of America. We must promote Godly people for public office.
Wherever you live, Mankato Minnesota, New York City, Chama, NM, Seattle, Washington…….please find a National Day of Prayer event to attend and pray for our Nation.
Last night in Albuquerque was such a Blessing with the First annual Kingdom Awards honoring heroes of faith in our community! What a testimony of the Glory of God! AMEN! Jerry Chavez the founder of the Kingdom Awards put out a wonderful Testimony for God’s Glory Alone! You will not want to miss this event next year, it was such a great evening of the Body of Christ coming together! AMEN!
Justin Johnson of KKIM did an AWESOME work of being the “voice” of the event and representing KKIM! God Bless you Justin!
City Councilor Dan Lewis had a tremendous message last night, being Ambassadors for Jesus Christ! Who do we work for? We are Ambassadors for Jesus Christ! AMEN!
Dan will also be one of the Speakers tomorrow at Cross of Hope, 7am is start time.
We have been talking about the 10 Commandments, (YES I am sticking with this message! Hope you are not tired with it!, we as people of God move to quickly from one subject to the next, we need to spend time right here on this for now) We have been talking about God’s Grace, the Fear of God, and living Holy.
Rene hit a Grandslam homerun with this observation…………
I agree with you Dewey-the reason people can’t or don’t even care about the 10 commandments is that they aren’t filled with the Holy Spirit so they have no desire to. Just finished an awesome book by Robert Morris-The God I Never Knew. Changed the way I view the HS completely.
We can’t follow the 10 commandments in our own flesh and that is the power most of us are living in.
Rene’
AMEN and AMEN!!!!!!! Rene, you made my day when I read your comments!! Right On! To many Christians do not even believe in the Holy Spirit!!!!!!!!!!
As Jerry Chavez said last night at the Kingdom Awards, we must stop playing Church! We must dive into the depths of God’s Word, we must come close to Jesus, we must walk with Him in every aspect of our lives. We must be Ambassador’s for Jesus Christ. My prayer today is that each and everyone of us will become closer to Jesus Christ and that a POWERFUL movement of the Holy Spirit will come upon you and yours!
The more mature we are in our faith and the more intimate our relationship with our Heavenly Father, the more dependent we must be on the Holy Spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit who guides us into the right path for us to walk and convicts us of our sin if we stray from that path.
It is the Holy Spirit who reminds us of the truth of God’s Word and teaches us how to apply God’s Word to our daily lives. So if you do not have the Holy Spirit in your life, you will struggle so much in following the 10 Commandments! You will also just plain struggle in life.
It is the Holy Spirit who works in us to conform us to the image of Jesus, to be Ambassador’s for HIM!
The ongoing lesson FOR US ALL is to learn to experience and live daily in the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT! AMEN!
No matter where you are in your journey with the LORD, this is the key to your being a truly successful Ambassador of Jesus Christ! AMEN and AMEN For God’s Glory Alone!
The Whisper of God
Thought for the Day: “No situation is hopeless. There may be times when things seem quite bleak and we tire of struggling – but once we lose hope – all is lost. Trust in God to lift you up and guide your path. Never let your trust in Him be overtaken by hopelessness and a loss of faith in His ways.” I hope you have a wonderful day today my friends! – Elmer Laydon
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:29-21 NIV
May You…
May you find happiness
in every direction your paths take you
May you never lose
your sense of wonder,
and may you hold on to
the sense of humor
you use to brighten the lives
of everyone who knows you.
May you go beyond
the ordinary steps
and discover extraordinary results.
May you keep on trying
to reach for your stars.
May you never forget
how wonderful you are.
May you always be patient
with the problems of life,
and know that any clouds will eventually
give way to the sunlight
of your most hoped-for days.
May you be rewarded with friendships
that get better and better,
and with love that blesses your life forever.
May you meet every challenge
you are faced with,
recognize every golden opportunity,
and be blessed with the knowledge
that you have the ability to
make every day special.
May you have enough material wealth
to meet your needs,
while never forgetting
the real treasures of life
are the loved ones and friends
who are invaluable to the end.
May you search for serenity,
and discover it was within you all along.
May you be strong enough
to keep your hopes and dreams alive.
May you always be gentle enough
to understand.
May you know
that you hold tomorrow
within your hands,
and that the way there
will be shared with the makings
of what will be your most wonderful memories.
And may you always remember,
each step along the way…
You are loved more than words
can ever begin to say.
WOW! Share that with everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A State of Fear
Posted: 01 May 2012 11:01 PM PDT
Jesus doesn’t want you to live in a state of fear. Nor do you. I bet you’ve never made these statements:
My phobias put such a spring in my step?
Thank God for my pessimism.
I’ve been such a better person since I lost hope!
My doctor says if I don’t begin fretting, I will lose my health!
We’ve learned the high cost of fear! But to be clear, a dose of fright can keep a child from running across a busy road. It’s the appropriate reaction to a burning building.
Fear itself is not a sin. But it can lead to sin. If we medicate fear with angry outbursts, drinking binges, or sullen withdrawals, we exclude God from the solution and make the situation worse. Joy-sapping worries. Day-numbing dread.
Hysteria is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear!”
We have been talking about the need to stop playing Church and be GOD’s CHURCH……..These next two devotionals are by Charles Stanley 8:05am KKIM………..
The Church: God’s Design
Read | Hebrews 10:23-25
When you hear the word “church,” do you picture a little white building full of smiling people in fancy clothes? As lovely as that image may be, God’s design for church is unrelated to it. He created the church to be a unified fellowship of believers who encourage each other and carry out His ministry to the world.
The Bible clearly defines the following as ministries of the church: worshiping the living God, instructing and edifying believers, making disciples of all nations, and serving the needy. Unless the leadership is careful, however, these purposes can all too easily get out of balance, with the unfortunate result that the body ends up malnourished. For example, a church with too heavy an emphasis on praise might become introverted. Congregations that overemphasize teaching could lose their joy, and those that evangelize to the neglect of the other areas could miss out on great faith.
Because of sin and human imperfection, we do not experience church as it was originally intended. Instead, there’s a tendency to overstress certain ministry areas. What’s more, divisive arguments–many of which concern minor issues, such as music preferences–too often destroy unity. Greed, pride, selfishness, and gossip can also tear a congregation apart.
Since they’re composed of imperfect people, churches will be imperfect too. Though expecting anything else leads to disappointment, we should nonetheless strive for God’s original design, continually measuring ourselves against Scripture and correcting course to realign with His purpose.
Going Against the Flow
Read | Psalm 62:1-6
A majority may rule in this world, but in your personal life, one Person rules–and that’s God. It makes no difference if 10,000 people tell you what you ought to do. Once you have decided to follow the Lord, it’s best to stand right where you are until you get marching orders from Him.
Does this mean we should never take godly counsel? No, it doesn’t. It simply means that when we know God hasn’t said “Move,” we should not yield to the temptation to please others by following their directives for us. In other words, while seeking scriptural advice, believers should also listen for the Holy Spirit’s promptings and warnings. For example, when dealing with your children, you may sense there’s a time to bring up an issue and a time to hold off (Eccl. 3:7b).
Sometimes, however, a fear of failure may discourage us from doing things God’s way, making us think, What if things don’t turn out the way we planned or we’re ridiculed by our peers? But ultimately, we must ask ourselves whether we’re going to listen to God or the world. Remember, you never have to fear failure when you obey the Lord. He’s the one who intervenes in times of hardship. And He promises to act in behalf of the one who waits for Him. (Isa. 64:4)
Remaining steadfast takes courage. That’s why Paul said, “Be strong in the Lord,” (Eph. 6:10). All the pressure in the world can’t make you budge when you trust the Rock upon which you stand. If you wait for God’s guidance, you can act with complete confidence of a successful outcome.

May 2, 2012. This is no time to lose hope. When hope is gone, you have little left. Stand guard at the door of hope. Defend this prized possession, the hope of the gospel, the hope of blameless life before God. The reason you would tend to lose hope is that you have forgotten from whence you came spiritually. You have received as your very own a totally new life in Me. You have been crucified, entered into Jesus’ death. The old you has been buried forever. You have been resurrected to a new creation. Old things have passed away. A new day has dawned for you. This is no time to lose hope!
Colossians 1:21-23 (NASB) “And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach- if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.” Ras Robinson

May 2, 2012. I believe most of New Age teachings began because much of the church would not accept the supernatural. People had to have somewhere to go to resolve such things. I see some of quantum physics lining up with much of the Bible which is full of the supernatural. It’s interesting that the discovery of quantum physics and the Azusa Street revival happened about the same time, around 1900. I believe God was melding the two together again. Science had its beginning to prove the Bible, but science disagreed with some interpretations and scientists were persecuted. “Church, you are here again, will you change some of your interpretations to agree with My Word?”
John 20:26-27 (NASB) “After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then He *said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Bev Robinson

May 2, 2012. You have been caught up in the hustle and bustle of the same repetitious patterns of despair. Can you slow down long enough for Me to minister My peace to you? I hear your cries for help, yet you seem somewhat unwilling to acknowledge My help. Can you allow yourself to accept My aid and assistance? Position yourself to be a good receiver of My loving care, and comfort. You can maintain the status quo or you can enter into My rest. You are quick to administer help to others during their time of need. Become a good receiver. Take time for yourself. Be still and receive all that I AM.
Hebrews 4:16 (NASB) “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Kevin Robinson

Calorie Burning Chores that HELP You
You know how tough it can be to find time to work out. Jam-packed schedules and never-ending chores don’t seem to leave much time for taking care of yourself.
But a hectic life is no reason to forgo your daily workout. Especially since the benefits of moving your body are enormous. With a little creativity, you can make exercise part of your routine no matter how long your to-do list is.
Use this simple plan to sneak some calorie-burning intensity into the chores you’re already doing.
Pick Up the Pace
The key to turning any household task into exercise is to pick up the pace or increase intensity and sustain it for as long as comfortably possible without taking a break.
If you have to clean the floors, throw on some upbeat music, and put some major muscle behind your mopping. And set yourself a goal to see if you can finish within a certain time limit. This will help you keep the activity intense enough to count it as exercise.
Get Creative
Some activities, such as weeding or raking, already require a high level of energy. But turning up the burn on other less intense activities, like washing dishes or dusting, may require a little more ingenuity.
Try these three creative ways to turn everyday chores into a workout. Adding these boosters could help you burn up to 180 extra calories per half hour of activity.
Dirty Dish Dips
Don’t let a mountain of dishes prevent you from working out when you could take care of both at the same time. Start the dishes, and then every few minutes, stop to do some dirty dish dips:
Areas worked: chest, arms.
Starting position: Face the sink, hands on the edge of the countertop, arms straight; position feet slightly farther than arms-length away from the counter so that your body is at a slight angle.
Action: Without bending at your waist, slowly bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the counter. Dip your chest toward the counter as far as comfortably possible before returning to your starting position. Repeat 5 to 10 times.
Tip: Make sure the counter and your hands are dry and you’re wearing shoes that won’t slip.
Backyard Twists
Raking the yard is already a great workout. Do it for half an hour and you’ll burn about 171 calories, which is close to what you’d expend by running a mile. Boost the calorie burn with this twist:
Areas worked: arms, shoulders, stomach, back, and sides.
Starting position: Rake gripped in both hands, right hand lowest on the rake handle; arms extended to make a long rake stroke.
Action: Reach the rake out as far as you can, and pull debris back toward your left foot by taking long, steady strokes while twisting your hips and upper body to the left. Do half of your raking with this motion, and then move your left hand below your right on the rake handle and do the rest with a left-to-right twisting motion.
Tip: Start by raking for only a few minutes with this motion and work your way up as you get stronger. This motion works well when sweeping floors, too. Consult your healthcare provider first if you have back problems.
Squeaky Clean Squats
Whether you’re mopping the floor, washing the car, or scrubbing windows, you can get a lower body workout with a couple of buckets half-filled with water:
Areas worked: arms, thighs, buttocks.
Starting position: Stand with one bucket handle gripped in each hand, feet shoulder-width apart; back, arms, and legs straight.
Action: Keep your arms straight down at your sides while you slowly squat by bending at the knee and hip joints. Lower yourself until your thighs are roughly parallel to the ground, then return to starting position. Repeat 10 times.
Tips: To avoid injury, keep your knees centered over your toes when squatting, do not allow your thighs to dip beyond parallel to the ground, and keep your back straight.
Adding Up the Minutes
It takes only a few extra minutes to turn a routine chore into a calorie-burning exercise. And those minutes add up toward the minimum exercise recommendation for optimal health – at least 30 minutes on most days of the week.
Top ten household chores for burning calories*
1. Moving furniture 225 calories
2. Scrubbing floors 189 calories
3. Raking leaves 171 calories
4. Gardening 162 calories
5. Mowing the lawn 162 calories
6. Washing the car 153 calories
7. Cleaning windows 153 calories
8. Vacuuming 84 calories
9. Washing dishes 76 calories
10. Doing laundry 72 calories
*Estimations based on a 150-pound person and 30 minutes of activity
Always supplement your exercise routine with longer bouts of cardiovascular exercise, such as brisk walking, whenever possible. But on days when time is scarce or the weather is bad and the to-do list is long, remember that it’s important to make exercise a priority. Doing your chores with a little extra energy and vigor is a great way to multitask.
