Life Verse for Founding Pastor Dewey Moede:
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” -Acts 20:24
Thank you Richard and Jerry for your sweet words…Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24
From Pastor Dewey:
As many of my friends know my all time hero is Harmon Killebrew, Hall-of-Famer Minnesota Twin! When Harmon passed away God had me contact his wife Nita! Only God could do this. I have learned over the years what a man of God Harmon was. Nita is a strong woman of God! Here is a message I got from her today: God created you to lift this country out of despair. You and all those like you will make sure that souls are fed and cared for. I thank God for you and all pastors of God’s work! Nita Killebrew
Praying that Nita can join us next year at Windom Revival 2018!
This being Pastor Appreciation Month my lovely wife Sharon, would like to share this with you…..We have posted it before…it is a golden oldie!
Food for thought!
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. ‘I’ve gone for 30 years now,’ he wrote, ‘and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons, but for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them so, I think I’m wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.
This started a real controversy in the ‘Letters to the Editor’ column. Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: ‘I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this… They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!’ When you are DOWN to nothing…. God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!
Pastors and their families live under incredible pressures. Their lives are played out in a fishbowl, with the entire congregation and community watching their every move. They are expected to have ideal families, to be perfect people, to always be available, to never be down and to have all the answers we need to keep our own lives stable and moving forward. Those are unrealistic expectations to place on anyone, yet most of us are disappointed when a pastor becomes overwhelmed, seems depressed, lets us down or completely burns out.
That’s why God has instructed us to recognize His servants.
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).
Please pray for your Pastor and the family.
Show the love of Jesus Christ to your Pastor and the family.
