Dear KKIM Family,
Many of you loved the scripture yesterday…………
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impact grace to the healers.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given HIMSELF for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
AMEN!
Ephesians 4 verses 29, 31, 32,
Covering you, Sharon and family with prayers today Dewey. Needed that
scripture this morning. I am continually blessed by what the Lord
leads you to do! Could you also add my niece Sharon to prayer list.
She is having a double mastectomy on Thursday. We are thankful that
cancer was found at beginning stages but because her mom died of breast
cancer she does not want to take any chances. I am praying that she
draw close to Jesus during this time too. Again, thanks for all the
prayers for my daughter Amy….they are being answered and she is doing
well as chemo continues! Please be aware of your bodies. Check for
lumps, but please remember breast cancer is not always in a lump. Be
aware of any changes and talk to your doctors. Blessings today!
Love, Cherie from California
A note of love and encouragement like that is just what the Doctor ordered. Please ad Cherie’s niece, Sharon to your prayer list please. I love these words of wisdom we posted on Monday……….
Words of Wisdom…………
“I developed a desire to pray God’s will. I began carrying other’s burdens to God in prayer. I prayed for my family, church, community, state, nation, and beyond. I BECAME LESS SELF-CENTERED AND MORE GOD-CENTERED. I enjoyed serving others through prayer.”
What do you think about that? Drop me a line and tell me about your prayer life! Please share. Let me know if you are passing on our prayer needs to your prayer group.
Let us pray for each other and our families………prayer is where God is at.
Cowboy Clarence from Socorro, NM sent me an email saying he is so excited about what God is doing in his life!
From the book”Dewey” The small town library Cat who touched the world. Sharon got me this book and it is AWESOME…true story from Spencer, Iowa…….My dad used to take us to Spencer once in awhile on Sundays after Church to go to this famous smorgasbord. You gotta read the book, here is something I wanted to share with you from the book………
One of the worst things about bad times is the effect on your mind. Bad times drain your energy They occupy your thoughts. They taint everything in your life. Bad news is as poisonous as bad bread.
This is when farmers were losing their farms, land that had been in families for many years………..S and L’s were closing……….jobs were being lost……….homes were being lost…….horrible times in the Midwest in mid to late 80’s. I lived though it like many others did. This true story about how this town adopts Dewey the cat (Yes the cat looks like me!) and he helps the town come together is so heart warming! Read it! What the country is going through right now is what the Iowa and Minnesota area was going through in the mid to late 80’s.So the times we are going through now, we will make it through because we have the Lord. We have each other, we can pray to Our Almighty Father for HIS guidance through these times. Let us not rely on OUR MINDS…….but the MIND OF OUR FATHER! Let us give up our will and SEEK THE WILL OF GOD!
By the way there is another great read coming out……..”American Lion” Andrew Jackson in the White House. Did you know he was the first President to be a target of an assassin—–and the only none to attack his assailant? During a crisis over the Bank of the United States, he freighted a group of men who came to ask him for economic relief!!!! WOW! We could use him today!!! I love to read and we sure can learn by reading our history!
I thank the Lord for all the friends of the Cup and KKIM. Monday we had Congressman Bill Redmond on New Mexico News and Views and yesterday the Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Dianne Keller was with us talking about her fine city and former Mayor Sarah Palin. We went right to the people of Wasilla for their thoughts on John McCain’s running mate. Please spread the word about New Mexico News and Views weekdays at 4:30..as we work hard everyday to bring you the TRUTH……….news from a Biblical perspective. New Mexico News and Views is the only full hour of news on the radio in New Mexico. You never know who may show up on the program…………maybe you!
Two of our dear friends just returned from the National Day of Prayer Conference in Colorado Springs. Pastor Mark and Pastor Don……………
Hey Dewey!
I just got back from NDP in CO and met Pastor Don and his wife from Heights Christian Church (Nice Folks). Hopefully we’ll be able to get together sometime to talk, because God’s doing MUCH here in NM. I have a Foursquare Conference coming up in Nov. that will be meeting in Abq., but we are working on a Christmas outreach to Cottonwood Mall and I think I already sent you some info regarding the Faith Night Event that will take place at one of the Scorpion’s Games in RR this January. If you and the “little woman” ever get some free time 😀 Juliet and I would love to get together.
Blessings,
Mark Tross

Hi Dewey,
We had a great four days at the National Day of Prayer Summit at Focus on the Family. I met a good friend of yours while there, Mark Tross. He’s a good brother and we’ll be working with him on prayer venues and issues in the coming days. Also, Jim and Sue Parks from Santa Fe, who were in my church several years ago. Good people. Sue is very active with the TV station up there. Talk to you later. God bless.
Pastor Don Kimbro (Host of Nuggets Of Truth Weekdays at 7:30am and 7:30pm on KKIM)
As I have said many times……..I love the family here at the Cup/KKIM…….I asked Karen and Rob Rowe to send us a picture……I am thankful for all they do here at the Cup! By the way if you would ever like to send me a picture of you, your family, or a picture of the area where you are from…..please do! We should start a photo album! What do you think???
Dear Dewey,
You had asked for a picture of me and Rob. Amanda took this of us today.
God Bless,
Rob and Karen Rowe
Dear friend,
A personal note just for you…Although we have never met, I think about who might be reading this and what you might be going through. I quietly pray in my heart for you with each minute that I spend writing…that God will have me write what needs to be heard…For HIS glory; For comfort, encouragement, strength, Salvation, lonliness, fear and unity…
I hope everyone is having a good and happy day, but I know that many struggle as they read this. Know that we all do sometimes and my prayers are with you in one mind with God along side of everyone praying with Dewey and The Daily Cup @ KKIM!
I struggle sometimes about sending things that I write in. This is one of them. It is about common knowledge that most of you reading this probably know more about than me, so sometimes I will go ahead and send it in and sometimes I will just store it away. Today I share. So my hope is that there will be something special for someone and then it has served God well. I truly write for God…to bring honor to HIS name, remind us that we all go through the same struggles and to unite us as one in Christ.
Robert, my husband has been reading the Old Testament and together we have been reading some in the evenings. I could tell you how our son broke our new TV, which forced us into new habits, like reading the Bible and sitting with our children, but that would just make this longer. But there was a blessing it that, in spite of the cost, which did far out way money. Our quality family time was stolen in TV time…it became a habit that has consumed our life to the point we lost other vital, lasting things in our life. I could go on, but we were ultimately blessed by that and my son is learning discipline and responsibility for his actions.
I find that I write many times like I am writing to friends, because I am, but then I try to take out the fluff about me and bring it back home to God’s glory. So a compliment to God that HE has made us family.
I truly believe that folks have family @ DDC and with KKIM! What praise to God! And no one should be afraid of being alone with family so close by…Only God can mold hearts like that!
Why do we have the Old Testament? Part 1 From, Karen Rowe
One main point is obvious:
The Old Testament is for a reason…
And it is history …
Without knowing history, we will continually make the same mistakes over and over again.
God is trying to teach the people; HIS people; HIS children how to behave.
I was on a walk the other day and this thought came to me… The people written about in the Old Testament were living their life day by day, just like we do. They were directly affected by what they knew and what they did not know and they grew weary in their walk over time…
Another thought that came to me today is that I am not to judge them. I believe that I was.
God would do all kinds of miraculous signs …that they knew were from God, but then they would fall back into their fallen ways again. Often times it seemed that it took a brick to fall on their heads to get their attention, but just a breeze to go by to forget…
The people would complain and worry and sin against God in the most vial ways with idols and other acts, while all the time God was physically leading them! Their patience failed them and it is written about for a reason. We can learn from The Bible without wandering around lost for 40 years!
I don’t think that people got away from God overnight…just little by little…until they forgot God; Then generation to generation, some people grew further away from a blessed life, with a forgotten God…
Good Kings were blessed, Bad Kings were plagued and cursed…they may have gotten away with it for a while, but God dealt with them in HIS time. Then, also in the Old Testament, it is written about Kings that didn’t know God’s purpose; They were following the set path of their fathers who forgot God…
However, God always prevails and it is so promising to read the good…The King who found God’s Word and changed to follow God’s rules…God shows blessings on those who obey HIM.
People living through tough times can’t see past the present need! Isn’t that our nature? Look at how the people acted while Moses was gone. He was on a mountain talking to God in person, getting the Ten Commandments and the people got bored and scared! They came up with their own plan and it didn’t work! They felt their need and then, their faith grew weak as their desires grew stronger.
God wasn’t 1st on their mind or in their heart at the times they cheated on God. I don’t think that they really gave HIM much thought when they disobeyed.
Is it human nature to need a leader with strong faith in God near? With Moses gone, the people of Egypt needed to see and touch an idol! Faith is hard sometimes, but those people just didn’t know God like Moses did…so their faith was weak.
We are blessed people! We can read the Bible and relate our own tough times to theirs…we can know that God promises a brighter future! We can know God because of Jesus! We are blessed people!
In the Old Testament, Manna was the food that God provided on the journey. The Manna shows survival under the direct leadership of God to a better place in life.
…We just need to look higher to God in trust!
We have the privilege of learning from the people’s mistakes in the Old Testament! We have the wisdom…God’s wisdom… that is uncovered in scripture, along with time to study, study notes and the Holy Spirit to guide us to understanding, as the LORD leads.
But most of all we have Jesus! The people in the Old Testament were waiting on Jesus, but we have Jesus alive with us today! That is worth thanks and praise to God!
The folks in the Bible were living through it, just like we live through things today.
Many times we can’t see the purpose or wisdom in a trial, until we have walked through something; until we arrive and see that light at the end of the tunnel. But we are not to question God’s plan, or rewrite HIS will; our nature is to complain and jump, but our Spirit follows God with a humble and thankful heart.
We can learn from that 40 year walk in the desert. What we need is a molded heart of God…purified and cleansed of selfishness, bitterness…just a heart of God that loves, trusts and leans not on our own understanding, but looks higher to God in all things.
Love in Christ,
Karen Rowe
Thank you Karen………God Bless you and Robb and your entire family!
By the way I just want to add I am very thankful for my wife, Sharon as she sacrifices much for the Ministry of KKIM and the Cup and the many hours the Ministry takes. Without her support I could not so this.
Love in Christ to you all! Dewey Sharon and family
