Dear KKIM Family,
A special hello this morning to Eric, Chris, Claudia, and Dustin……KKIM listeners who where in Church yesterday at Los Lunas Church of God where I preached! It was an AWESOME day in the Lord!
I am asked how do you know you are telling the truth when you deliver the news or are commenting on events of the day……..
I preached on this yesterday………..
“the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:17
To know the Truth is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In verse 16 it says……”And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever——–the Spirit of Truth
The Lord covers you with the Truth…..stay close to Jesus and you will know the Truth.
When we walk with the Lord he also gives us discernment. Discernment is lacking so much in our society today…….
Main Entry: dis·cern·ment
Pronunciation: di-ˈsərn-mənt, -ˈzərn-
Function: noun
Date: 1586
1 : the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure : skill in discerning
2 : an act of discerning
synonyms discernment, discrimination, perception, penetration, insight, acumen mean a power to see what is not evident to the average mind. discernment stresses accuracy (as in reading character or motives or appreciating art) the discernment to know true friends. discrimination stresses the power to distinguish and select what is true or appropriate or excellent the discrimination that develops through listening to a lot of great music>. perception implies quick and often sympathetic discernment (as of shades of feeling) a novelist of keen perception into human motives. penetration implies a searching mind that goes beyond what is obvious or superficial lacks the penetration to see the scorn beneath their friendly smiles>. insight suggests depth of discernment coupled with understanding sympathy -a documentary providing insight into the plight of the homeless. acumen implies characteristic penetration combined with keen practical judgment
When I see what is going on at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe and in Washington……..it is for a lack of a relationship with Jesus Christ. A lack of common sense. A lack of discernment.
They can talk all they want about Ethics reform, Health care reform..but until hearts are changed we will get more of the same.
If our failure to speak out against wickedness can in any way be interpreted as approval of the practice, then we are guilty as well. Look around—–is there sin surrounding you to which you have grown accustomed? Are you willing to take a stand regardless of the cost?
Sandy Grove of Windom, Minn sent this in………….saying, “Isn’t this what you have been talking about???………..
A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl, Shelby.. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Shelby and said, ‘Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today..’
After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together… The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly. ‘Oh,’ she said, ‘on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together..’
This one is worthy forwarding.
OVER AND OVER
AMEN!!!!
Sooo……… when we get Jesus back where he Belongs–
our country will come together.
AMEN SANDY!!! AMEN SANDY!!!
And the Church coming together! We saw that this weekend with two great events in Albuquerque that brought Catholics, Protestants, and Evangelicals together! PRAISE GOD!
I got this asked of me yesterday, and this comes up more often than not……..
I want to go into Ministry! Is the Lord in this? Where is your wife in this? Are you together in this? Whenever we get the urge to step out on an adventure make sure the Lord is in it…….Make sure you and your wife or husband are together…….pray and seek counsel from Godly men and women.
Let us check the mailbag……..
This from the Gov’s Office……..
Governor Bill Richardson Asks Public for Input on Legislative Budget Cuts
SANTA FE – Governor Bill Richardson is asking New Mexicans to contact his office with their opinions about the budget bills passed last week by the Legislature.
While the Legislature made minimal cuts to education, legislators targeted state agencies under the control of the Governor for the most drastic cuts. That means critical services will be cut. For example, while legislators claimed to have protected Medicaid funding, critical programs such as behavioral health care, children’s healthcare and programs for the elderly were not spared.
The Governor has 20 days to sign, veto or partially veto the budget bills.
New Mexicans can contact the Governor’s Office with their thoughts about the budget bills by email: Special.session@state.nm.us or by phone: 505-476-2210 505-476-2210 .
Lord willing we will be getting more information on what went on at the Special Session later today from State Rep’s Janice E Arnold Jones and Nora Espinoza. Janice told me on Saturday that the State Government could be shut down in 3 wks depending on what happens with the bill the House and Senate sent to the Gov. Nora said it is one big mess! Janice and Nora are tired I am sure from the Special Session…..remember New Mexico, this is a Volunteer Legislature….non-paid. I believe there are 212 members of the House and Senate, all Volunteers. Please pray for them.
Here is what is going on in Maine, where Angel Murchison lives. Angel’s program, “Destiny Moments” is heard Fridays at 2:30pm on KKIM.
On Nov. 3, Maine voters will become the first in any state with the chance to repeal or uphold a law passed by their Legislature and signed by their governor, legalizing same-sex marriage. We are praying and believing that the Lord and his people will not allow this to pass. Lou Engle is here in Maine this weekend holding prayer meetings throughout the state in regards to this issue. We covet your prayers as well. We must stand for truth. Love the sinner, but hate the sin. Lord show yourself strong here in Maine.
Have a blessed day Dewey. Praying for you, KKIM and your families.
Angel
Dewey,
I wanted to respond to this. I have great respect for Mr. Clymer’s commitment to Christ. To stand for what you believe in these days is becoming far too rare. But I can’t help but think that we are in the world but not of it. We are here to be salt and light in a dark world. Would it not be better for if Mr. Clymer stayed in his position and continued to exert his Christian influence as President of a large corporation such as Holiday Inn. To put it another way, would our great state representatives, Janice E Arnold Jones and Nora Espinoza be better servants of Christ if the resigned when an ungodly law was passed? We need good people there to represent us.
I think we need Christians to be salt and light in this world. Sometimes our place might be difficult to be in, but God puts us there for His purpose, not ours.
Dustin
Dear Dewey, Sharon and family, Gods Peace’
“Godly men and women cannot be content in the presence of wickedness”. I could see how some would read that and take it as a suggestion or a holy order. But Dewey, it is not either. It is a fact. It just IS.
Godly men and women know in their hearts when wickedness is dwelling near them. Our second sense as some would call it, I call it the Holy Spirit, makes us uneasy/un content. It is automatic. Not a desire. I am reminded of that daily. I see it everywhere. But know, because the holy book has instructed, that it will not be this way long. It seems as though the end times are coming soon. We can look up and be thankful for that.
Sincerely, sam
Let us pray……………
Lord, Thank You for Your Word and for the role it has in our prayer life. Help us to apply in prayer what we learn from it. In Jesus name, AMEN!!!
In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
