Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there! PRAISE GOD! We have some special posting’s on Mother’s Day posted at FGGAM: http://www.fggam.org/the-many-faces-of-mothers-day/
Lord Willing will may be adding a few more over the weekend. Darlene Quiring shares with us today on the CUP, on prayer and Mother’s Day.
My friend Sonja Haldeman, classmate 1974 now living in Arizona, is in Windom and took this picture of the house I grew up in Windom Minn my brother Dave and his wife Denise live in the house now My Daddy planted the tree on the right when I was born in 1956!! Thanks for sending Sonja!! She is jumping rope as she walks around Windom today!!!! Lol lol
I wept tears of joy when Sonja sent me this picture……..so, so many good memories. My Mom and Dad were such Godly parents. I am thankful this house still is in the family, you might call it our “Little House on The Prairie” We had our struggles, but we had a loving, secure family that was together. When I was working on the CUP this morning and praying what to write about Mother’s Day, the Lord showed me that is part of what drives you Dewey. I am weeping as I write this, as I wake up everyday I want to stand in the gap for children and families, the sanctity of life and marriage, which is the fabric of society and to see it being ripped apart makes me weep. My Mom and Dad worked hard for us kid’s, the four of us, me, David, Deb, and Daryl. Back home they called me the Big D! Mom and Dad never had money, they had love, love of God and family. They showed us what counts in life. So as I see society in the mess we have, and I am driven by my God to show the darkness the Kingdom of God, The Love of God, The Word of God, The Bread of Life. So many single Parents need our love and support, so many children don’t have a Mommy or Daddy need our support, many get shuffled to one parent to the next, more and more are being raised by Grandparents and Aunt and Uncles. I get teased that I grew up in Mayberry with Sheriff Andy and Deputy Barney! LOL! I know the difference in good and bad, I was taught that very early. I aim to help teach it to many the rest of my life, that is what I learned from Mom and Dad, share your wisdom of God to the World. I do know that Mother’s Day has many faces and Shona Neff writes about it at FGGAM: http://www.fggam.org/the-many-faces-of-mothers-day/
My Mom and Dad, Wally and Ruth Moede back about 22 years ago holding grandson Lars. I remember this day, clear as day, driving from Indiana where we lived at the time to Windom and Dad was waiting for us to pull up in the back yard so he could be the first to hold his grandson Lars.
Mom and Dad are both in heaven now and Lars is not so little anymore!!!!! He graduates from Columbia of Chicago, Lord Willing in Oct!
Sharon is up for an award today for her Inspirational Talk’s at Presbyterian Hospital. Please keep her in your prayers. God Bless you! I am so thankful for a Godly wife. I am so very proud of her!
Proverbs 18:22
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.
Proverbs 31:10-12 and 25-31
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. (NIV)
Very thankful for this from our friend Bob a firefighter here in Albuquerque…….

Thanks to Darlene Quiring for sending this in: God still Answers Prayer!
A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord’s voice. The young man couldn’t help but wonder, “Does God still speak to people?”
After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.
It was about ten o’clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, “God.. If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.”
As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, to stop and buy a gallon of milk.
He shook his head and said “God, is that you?” He didn’t get a reply and started on home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn’t recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. “Okay, God, in case that is you. I will buy the milk.” It didn’t seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, turn down that street. “This is crazy”, he thought and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street.
At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, “Okay, God, I will.” He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi-commercial area of town. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst of either.
The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something. “Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street.”
The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. “Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.” Again he felt like he should go and give the milk.
Finally, he opened the door, “Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don’t answer right away, I am out of here.” He walked across the street and rang the bell, He could hear some noise inside.
A man’s voice yelled out, “Who is it? What do you want?” Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt.
He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn’t seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. “What is it?” The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, “Here, I brought this to you.”
The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway speaking loudly in Spanish. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen.
The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking half crying, “We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn’t have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk.”
His wife in the kitchen yelled out, “I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?” The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put it in the man’s hand.
He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers.
Darlene also sent this in for Mothers Day………..
A MOTHERS LOVE
By unknown Author
A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:
For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No ChargeFor all the nights that I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No ChargeFor all the trying times, and all the tears that you’ve caused through the years:
No ChargeFor all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No ChargeFor the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No ChargeSon, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge. When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL”.
AMEN! AMEN! Thank you Darlene for all you do for the Kingdom of God! AMEN!
May 10, 2013. Clean up your body and lifestyle. Abundance is mesmerizing. Ask God if you can give more to the church and to the poor. Let your generosity be led by God. Our daughter and her husband cannot really afford to sponsor five children, but they do. We are grateful our son and his wife sponsor two children and help feed the poor as well. Over time, I believe we have given away four cars to those who needed them worse than we did. I am glad my family gives generously. Try it. The returns on the investments are good.

May 10, 2013. Be alert now. Don’t fall back into some old habits. Continue walking the upward path. Thoughts have crept in that the path is not interesting. Dismiss those thoughts. They come straight from your enemy. The path at this time is just the right fit for you…designed just for you. Get your thoughts onto what I have set before you. Let yourself become excited to do My will. Don’t consider that others will think it’s not exciting or important. I think it is … so you think it is.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (NLT) “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.” Bev Robinson

May 10, 2013. Your life is made up of choices. You make choices every day for better or worse. Make wise choices today which reflect your obedience to Me. Ask Me for My wisdom on a daily, moment by moment basis. No matter what setbacks come against you, nothing will prevail against the power of Me within you. Seek wise counsel. Find individuals who have a proven record of success and listen to them carefully. Pay attention to my voice. Pattern your ways to means I have chosen and flourish.
