Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Merry Christmas!
These words really spoke to me before I preached yesterday: I’m so grateful for all of my imperfections, they keep me dependent on the One who is {perfect}. Tera Elness, Windom, Minn. Thank you Tera!
Just a reminder we will be on KDAZ AM730 at 12:05pm MST today, you can listen on line at www.fggam.org ;
Yesterday I traveled to Reserve, NM to preach the word of God, His miracles and the book of James, practical words for all days. I love how the Message Bible tells the miracle story of Mary in Luke 1………..
A Virgin Conceives
26-28 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to the Galilean village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to a man descended from David. His name was Joseph, and the virgin’s name, Mary. Upon entering, Gabriel greeted her:
Good morning!
You’re beautiful with God’s beauty,
Beautiful inside and out!
God be with you.
29-33 She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus.
He will be great,
be called ‘Son of the Highest.’
The Lord God will give him
the throne of his father David;
He will rule Jacob’s house forever—
no end, ever, to his kingdom.”
34 Mary said to the angel, “But how? I’ve never slept with a man.”
35 The angel answered,
The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
the power of the Highest hover over you;
Therefore, the child you bring to birth
will be called Holy, Son of God.
36-38 “And did you know that your cousin Elizabeth conceived a son, old as she is? Everyone called her barren, and here she is six months pregnant! Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.”
And Mary said,
Yes, I see it all now:
I’m the Lord’s maid, ready to serve.
Let it be with me
just as you say.
Then the angel left her.
Blessed Among Women
39-45 Mary didn’t waste a minute. She got up and traveled to a town in Judah in the hill country, straight to Zachariah’s house, and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby in her womb leaped. She was filled with the Holy Spirit, and sang out exuberantly,
You’re so blessed among women,
and the babe in your womb, also blessed!
And why am I so blessed that
the mother of my Lord visits me?
The moment the sound of your
greeting entered my ears,
The babe in my womb
skipped like a lamb for sheer joy.
Blessed woman, who believed what God said,
believed every word would come true!
46-55 And Mary said,
I’m bursting with God-news;
I’m dancing the song of my Savior God.
God took one good look at me, and look what happened—
I’m the most fortunate woman on earth!
What God has done for me will never be forgotten,
the God whose very name is holy, set apart from all others.
His mercy flows in wave after wave
on those who are in awe before him.
He bared his arm and showed his strength,
scattered the bluffing braggarts.
He knocked tyrants off their high horses,
pulled victims out of the mud.
The starving poor sat down to a banquet;
the callous rich were left out in the cold.
He embraced his chosen child, Israel;
he remembered and piled on the mercies, piled them high.
It’s exactly what he promised,
beginning with Abraham and right up to now.
We must tell this story everyday, just not at Christmas! A Virgin conceives….the miracles of God! I shared then why many don’t believe…….The natural mind, I’m referring to the thinking process that is limited to human reason and resources. Take this information and let it soak into your heart, soul and mind. It will arm you to be able to witness to the natural mind. God’s Word calls the mind of the natural man, BLINDED, 2 Cor 4:4, DEPRAVED, Rom. 1:28, CORRUPT, 1 Tim. 6:5, UNSPIRITUAL, Col. 2:18. The natural mind is under the control of Satan and can never please God because it concentrates on things of the world and not things of the Spirit. The natural mind walks a path of hopelessness and self-destruction.
It is all playing out right before you!
I shared to the congregation….you can see the natural mind play out on TV, Radio, Movies, News, Newspaper, in Washington D.C. in your city…..etc…..
It is all playing out in front of us, you must know your enemy and what Satan is up to.
I really recommend the book, Master Life, by Avery Willis Jr. Pastor Leonard Navarre gave me that book years ago. It is an excellent study on this subject and more on the Christian walk.
I then went to James for practical advice on how to live a Godly life. We read parts of James 3 and all of 4.
Here get this: For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and evil in practice. James 3:16……..that is the United States this day.
Also this……..But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all PURE, wow we do not hear the word PURE much in our society! then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17-18.
I pray Father, that is what we do here at FGGAM. In Jesus name, Amen!
I pray that we will soon have that message available on CD for you!
I thank Pastor Richard Gordon from Legacy Church for coming yesterday and also Scott from Albuquerque!
Simple blessings in life………
Got home last night at 6pm after a 15 hour day that started at 3am with posting at www.fggam.org and Sharon had turned on the Christmas Lights and the life size Nativity scene we bought a few years ago at a garage sale, I told her, thanks for turning them on as it was such a wonderful feeling getting home and seeing the house lit up for Jesus, and she said, “I know you love it, so I turned it on for you.”
I love my wife more today than yesterday!
I am sad to tell you that Bessie Patterson passed away last night. I talked to her husband Bill this morning. He shared with me this: As they were checking Bessie’s vitals, the machine showed nothing, but she was still talking to Bill. She was sharing with him and that Johnny says to slow down. Johnny is Bessie’s Dad who is in heaven, so, Bessie was already on the other side. I find this when dealing with someone who is dying here on earth, but going to the other side. My Uncle Joe, from his death bed, greeted all of his family in heaven as he met them and shouted out their names, and as he heard from his grandchildren he would rise in his bed and make a check mark gesture and then would lay back down in his bed. After Joe heard from his last grandchild as the phone was held up to his ear, he smiled and passed onto to heaven.
Bessie is now in heaven, and we are so very joyful for that! Amen!
I cannot imagine how those folks who don’t know Jesus Christ feel when they go to hell.
We are following the story of Billy Graham for you at FGGAM.ORG as he nears heaven. http://www.fggam.org/?x=-683&y=-460&s=Will+Graham
We continue to pray for Pastor Ray Franks. His son, Pastor Brenton says, Need specific prayer against infection for my dad today. Infection numbers rising. Please pray against that. Also for strengthen his heart.
We cover this great man of God with our prayers. We love you Ray!!!!
Please pray for Martin Rivera, as he undergoes a heart check up. They are checking his progress since valve replacement surgery.
I love these words of Godly wisdom by Randy Alcorn…………
“I value all things only by the price they shall gain in eternity.” —John Wesley
Having an eternal perspective is in so many ways the key to living out a true Christ-following life. If we take our cues from the world around us, we’re not going to have that kind of perspective. Everything is viewed in light of the short term: go after this, try to find happiness here, buy this car, have this cup of coffee, go to this clothes store, do these “big payoff” things (which, in reality, don’t enrich the soul). This is the world we live in.
But Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 4:18, “We look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” What will last forever? God’s Word. People. Spending time in God’s Word and investing in people will pay off in eternity and bring me joy and perspective now.
In our ministry, we encourage believers to look at life differently—like Elisha’s servant whose eyes were opened so that he could see the angels around them, protecting them (2 Kings 6). It wasn’t that suddenly those angels were there. They were there all along. It’s just that suddenly he had the eyes to see invisible realities.
Now I’m not saying that we’re going to be seeing angels and demons if we have an eternal perspective! What I am saying is we need to ask God to open our eyes to what’s at stake—to the unseen world and the reality of Heaven, our eternal destination. This life need not be wasted. In small and often unnoticed acts of service to Christ, we can invest this life in eternity, where today’s faithfulness will forever pay rich dividends.
If you’ve placed your faith in Christ and trusted Him for your salvation, this world is the closest thing to Hell you will ever experience. Everything that is wrong in this life will be made right in that place you’ll live in forever, the New Earth. “Thanks, Lord, that the best is yet to be.” That’s my prayer. God will one day clear away sin, death, and sorrow, as surely as builders clear away debris so they can begin new construction.
When you live with eternity in mind, it infuses you with a joy that sustains you in your daily life, even as you face difficult things. Believing that God is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28) takes faith. It takes trust. And it requires an eternal perspective.
Father, you tell us not to fix our eyes on popular culture, not on fleeting accomplishments and wealth, but upon what is eternal, what will still matter a billion years from now. Give us the eyes of faith, and remind us to focus on you, our soon-returning Savior.
