Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
If all images do not show up on your email CUP, please go to FGGAM.ORG! www.fggam.org ; Bringing you the news and inspiration you need to know.
Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ! This is Kelly Snelgrove and I will be filling in for Pastor Dewey Moede today here at the CUP. I write for the Inspiration page at FGGAM.org. By God’s kindness and grace you will find me daily at the website with Kelly’s Word For The Day. I share scripture with a picture and a brief word that I hope inspires and reflects God’s Word through his creation. I also write messages that often include music videos in hope of lifting up and encouraging others in their Christian walk.
In Monday’s CUP, Pastor Dewey mentioned a quote that I had shared with him. I believe it highlights the foundations of ministry and would like to share that with you again.
“Ministry takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God.”
– Warren W. Wiersbe, On Being a Servant of God
Pastor Dewey faithfully sets an example for us and shares his ministry journey in the CUP which he has been writing for 17 years. Two years ago the Cup overflowed and For God’s Glory Alone Ministries – FGGAM.org began. FGGAM lovingly ministers to people in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the glory of God. This is ministry.
My grandmother had a small collection of miniature figurines. While growing up I loved looking at them with her as she told me a little story behind each one. The most special ones were those from friends and family. Several years ago I was given this special treasure and among the figurines were three little windmills. As I was dusting around the house I stopped to admire the delicate pieces once again and their own individual and unique features. The one thing they all had in common were vanes that moved. I carefully dusted them off and repositioned them on the shelf in my cabinet giving them a new place where they could be seen and enjoyed even more. Inspired and intrigued in that moment my heart was set it motion as I pondered the thought of purpose and function of the windmill!
Wind power starts with the Sun!
Windmills need wind to function. They convert the energy of the wind into rotational energy by the means of the vanes.
Windmills/windpumps are often used to pump and provide ground water to an entire ranch.
In a strong wind the windmill works well, but in a light breeze it won’t turn. It requires manually turning the vane until the fan faces directly into the wind. Only when properly positioned does the windmill supply water to the ranch.
“We need to daily reposition ourselves—to intentionally turn toward the Lord and His Word and to drink deeply from Him who is the source of living water.
Service for God flows from within, outward. Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me, . . . ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:38). It’s when God speaks to our depths that we are able to touch the lives of others. To refresh others, let’s return to the Source of life regularly.” – Our Daily Bread
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” –John 3:8 (ESV)
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” –John 7:37-38 (ESV)
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. –Galatians 6:1-10 (NLT)
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. –Ephesians 3:16 (ESV)
May you have much joy and fruitful blessing as you serve the Lord!
