AMEN! AMEN! That is right where I am at in my life! AMEN!

Before I start this day, Let us pray for all those in the way of the storm……..AMEN! Pictures of snow in North Carolina and West Virginia are posted in this CUP!

This is my testimony..my letter to you all this day……..

Yesterday facing challenges of starting a new ministry (I must remember this ministry was not started by me! It was anointed by God!) two cars in need of repair. I lay prostrate on the floor and went to Our Father who art in heaven…..I became closer to God yesterday more than ever before, The Holy Spirit came in a powerful way sending me to Bible verses, the Bread of Life, The Holy Spirit also sent me to my office to pick up a couple of books and open them……I am here to tell you that God sends me to certain pages in the Bible and books to read…….it may be just a sentence, but it is directed by God. I was always taught that the Bible becomes part of you……it becomes part of your mind, soul, and heart. We are to be a walking Bible by our example to others. I could not go anywhere yesterday as the Lord has me in prayer all day. The Lord sent help, my neighbor Oscar donated the alternator to the car and his nephew put it on! PRAISE GOD! Charles of C and A Transmission has donated his services to fix the transmission on my car!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! This brought me and Sharon to tears. God sent people to help us! I love to learn, and I love to read God’s Word and have it become part of me. You can do the same. For the rest of my life I will be encouraging people to read God’s Word’s. We become Christ like, having the mind of Jesus Christ.

We fear the Lord, the person who fears God has nothing to hide. So many folks have things to hide and I want to help them through our Lord to be set free of this bondage. I repeat, the person who fears God has nothing to hide. In fact, he or she is scared to be away from God. That really hit me yesterday……..being away from God………oh my…….Are you with God all the time? We talk about how we miss our loved ones……..Do you miss God? I pray you are with God at all times. People say God be with you.I say, May you be with God.

One of the key’s in our journey is to totally submit ourselves to God. Have you?

Let me encourage you with this…………These are two of the Scriptures God sent me to yesterday.

Psalm 34:7

The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him(who revere and worship Him with awe) and each of them He delivers.

The Lord is my Light and Salvation—-whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life—-whom shall I be afraid?

James 1:4

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

I was told by my neighbor last night Veronica…..never stop learning Dewey! Amen! For those of you who know me well, know I love to learn!!!

I just love my deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. When that happens we also become deeper in love with our wife, husband, children, friends……everybody!

What is going on in my life is that God is continuing to prepare me for the days ahead so I am prepared to do His work, not mine, His.

Do you feel the presence of the Lord in your life? Do you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life? Do you really FEEL it?

Seek the face of the Lord, press into His loving arms this day and all days.

Storms are guaranteed to come into our life, but our Lord is with us through all. What determines the outcome of the storms in our life is where we have layed our foundation.My prayer is that your foundation is in Our Father Almighty!

Hi guys. Please visit the webpage below for information on a 21 year old man name Quinn Pogan who is in a burn/trauma unit in ABQ right now. He was in an explosion a little over a week ago and suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 50% of his body. He’s already had and is facing more surgeries on the road to recovery. His mother is a good friend of a high-school classmate of mine who told me about this situation today. Neither Quinn or his parents live in ABQ and will lose income during the recovery, in addition to all the medical expenses being incurred. Quinn also has some small children to support. I will possibly visit with Quinn and his parents and will pass on more info as I get it. In Church Consulting when you are tracking baptisms that for every 85 church members in 2000 there was 1 baptism per year. In the lastest report, 2010 to have 1 baptism per year it took that church to have 127 members. So 254 members equals 2 baptisms, 508 members to 4 baptisms. So in these stats we are taking ALL churches membership reporting and dividing by the number of baptisms. This is the average as in the Cup thousands of churches are having NO baptisms while others, especially mega churches are reporting hundreds per year. My friend, Jud Wilhite who preaches in Las Vegas, NV with attendance nearing 20,000. They had 127 baptisms this weekend. So the Church Consulting stat is an average of all churches covering all denominations.

In Frank’s reporting, Nix, reports just on the Southern Baptism Convention: it is so so sad to report the stats “7,627 churches reported no baptisms in 2011 and an additional 3,313 did not respond to the question about baptisms…over 10,000 reported not 1 baptism, that’s over 1/4 of their churches”

Pastor Jesse Dompreh once brought me a pair of dress pants because I was in need, Pastor Leonard R Navarre adviser to FGGAM came to town the other day and filled my car with gas , Pastor Barry Dickens came into Sharon and my life at God’s time, Pastor Jim Mon toya

Bishop Ron Mizell game me my first Church to serve as Associate Pastor Pastor Bill Ruhl who serves as Vice-Chair of FGGAM helped me and Sharon the other day……I have been so BLESSED by these men, many Men and Women of God…..the list is endless, This morning in my prayers the Lord brought to me all these Men and Women……I pray Lord that I can bless back. Love to you all, I encourage you all to submit yourselves to Mentor’s that are Godly, to an accountability group. There’s many more to thank, but I wanted you to see what God can do in our lives if we submit to HIM..He sends people into our lives.

October is Ministry Appreciation Month. It is the one time of the year in which Christians are expected to show appreciation for the work of the pastor. A pastor’s work often goes unnoticed for those unfamiliar with the behind the scenes life of a pastor. Therefore, I wanted to take the opportunity to show appreciation to pastors everywhere by saying thanks for the hard work. God Bless all Pastor’s

Okay, yesterday when I was sharing on Evangelism (Make sure to read further down in the CUP today, Frank Haley sent in a great informative write up on Evangelism) I have been studying Evangelism for years.A boost in this study was when I joined the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas as Associate Pastor under Pastor Jim Montoya. This was a focus of Jim’s when I joined. Here is just a part of of I shared yesterday, I Preached on this for 45 minutes yesterday……Remember we are all capable of being leaders, it’s just not mean to be the Pastor’s……. The Great Commission calls us all!

The task of Christian leaders is not to make a little contribution to the solution of the pains and tribulations of our time, but to identify and announce the ways in which Jesus is leading God’s people out of slavery through the desert to a new land of freedom. Christian leaders have the very tough challenge of responding to personal struggles, Pastor’s struggle themselves and so does their family at times, We have to respond to local and national tragedies, International tensions like right now with Israel, the Apple of God’s eye,..Pastor’s need to articulate faith in God’s real presence. We have to say no to every form of fatalism, defeatism, accidentalism that makes people believe that statistics are telling us the truth.

We have to say no to every form of despair in which human life is seen as a pure matter of good or bad luck. We have to say no to sentimental attempts to make people develop a spirit of resignation in the face of the unavoidably of pain, suffering, and death. We have to say no to the secular world and proclaim God’s Word, the ways of Jesus Christ and no other….we must proclaim this to the World and carry out the Great Commission.

I believe that the most important quality of Christian leadership in not about power and control, but a leadership of powerlessness and humility in which the suffering servant of God, Jesus Christ, is made manifest.

I am not speaking about a weak leadership in which Christian leaders are simply passive victims, I am speaking about a leadership in which power is constantly abandoned in favor of love, the Love of Jesus Christ. It is the true spiritual leadership.

Powerlessness and humility in the spiritual life do not refer to people who have no spine.

They follow God’s Word no matter what. They stand in the gap for God.

They gives their lives to our Lord, even if it means death. Look at the missionaries who die weekly for God.

They are so deeply in love with Jesus Christ that they are ready to follow Him wherever He guides them, always trusting that, with him, they will find life and find it abundantly no matter where they are at carrying out the great commission.

They leave there homes, their jobs……….

Jesus has a different vision of maturity: It is the ability and willingness to be led by Him where we would rather not go.

For months I dragged me feet in leaving KKIM……It became very uncomfortable for me because I was not moving out like the Lord had told me and it was also told to me by my Spiritual Father Pastor Larry Moss and three others, to move, God wants you out Preaching the Word.

Having faith in Jesus is fine, but when we get to deciding how their walk should be and not be, well then that is not good. Everyone has a different walk with Jesus. Our personal two step march may not be exactly as another in their two s

tep march. Emotional and judgmental thinking will steal the joy of the Lord.

God tells us to just love each other right where we are; and not where we think each other should be. None of us can be in the same spot on the same sidewalk, or it would be a fight on who gets the next step forward…

It is good when we are able to be up on the walk, but the easiest and best way to help another up is not to look down at them and pull them up, but rather to get down under them and help push up with loving arms and care.

As I continue on my Jesus walk to learn how to better serve in my purpose, I learned today! My walk with Jesus has always been easy and my tuff days are not comparable to another’s struggles. I discovered this morning that I am tired, because I have been trying to pull people up, instead of just loving them where they are. Thank you for your patience with me as I learn how to better love with this love for people that Jesus has poured into my heart. This is huge for me to learn this today!

Shari Hardway Johnson Love it… and owch! needed it. I had a preacher friend do an illustration one time with the youth…. He had one of them stand on top of a folding chair, and told them to pull him up there. Of course they couldnt. But with no problem at all he pulled the teen down. There is a great message in that! Often times in our attempt to pull people up, they pull us down to there level.. then everyone’s in trouble. Better to walk along side and encourage them up, than to be drug down too. Just a Bump in the Road

Dear Family of Jesus,

Thank you for coming by for a CUP! It is a chilly morning here in the desert,Snow back home in Minnesota! let us treasure this day and all days! This is a time when many need encouragement…..many……..I have found as the Lord gave us FGGAM that walking the streets for Jesus Christ has made me see people more and more through His eye’s.

One of the miracles of our relationship with the Holy Spirit is that we are led to scripture to read for this day. The Lord sent me to this…….

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as (something done) for the Lord and not for men. Col 3:23….

Then we go onto verse 24…Knowing (with all certainty) that it is from the Lord (and not from men) that you will receive the inheritance which is your (real) reward. (The One Whom) you are actually serving is the Lord Christ (the Messiah

and then my life verse from Acts 20:24…….

24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

I hang onto those scriptures everyday…….I tried to please man too much of my life…..way too much! We spend too much time trying to please man. We get wrapped around what the Boss thinks, what our friends are going to think, I spent to much sweat and blood…..and tears trying to please man. What are you doing today? Who are you trying to please today? Who do you envision holding an ax over your head? Please read all of Col Chapter 3 this morning………please stop right now and read the whole chapter.

Look at where you are in your life right at this very moment. Are you living the life of the Bible?……or are you just fitting it in on Sunday and once in awhile during the week? What drives you? is it money? Is it a goal someone else gave you?

Today, The Lord asked me to ask all to analyze our lives in Him. Are you a walking Bible? Meaning do you live a Biblical life and does your light shine for Jesus Christ? Do you have salt? Please Read Matt 5:13-16

I am not perfect at all…….I come to my Lord each day and He is shaping me each day……reading His Word each day grows me closer to Him, to have a mind like Jesus Christ.

My theory is Satan attacks folks like us who are “called” later in life, because he knows that we know what we’ve been saved out of and the fire that brews inside is HOT! Maybe that was why Paul was such a zealot.

Amen Shari! I thank God Sharon and I have met you! I am 56 years old, I wish at times I would have caught the FEVER that I have now for the Lord 40 years ago! What you say is exactly why Paul is my hero! I aim in my life to be the Evangelist he was and is to this day with his written word.

Hey my friend, I am requesting prayer today. I am in the hospital awaiting surgery. The procedure is trying to find out why my pancreatic cancer levels are so elevated. God has been so merciful to keep the pain level manageable. But, a nurse administered a blood thinner by mistake last night. So, this procedure might be delayed. Really praying for full healing,but also wisdom to those over my care. Thank you dear friend. God is in control and I am in such sweet peace even in this tumultuous time!

Yes, God made it very clear to me last night that I need my prayer warriors. This is an attack from the enemy and he is using those who do not believe and these non-believers are taking care of me. Lots of pride in these hospital corridors. I have no fear for I feel His peace, but I am uncomfortable with how this error was handled. When I pray, all I receive is “get the army ready”. Thank you and love you and all my brothers and sisters in Christ!

Also we are praying for Amy as her cancer is back. I talked with her yesterday and I ask all of you to pray over Amy Jean Snow Schultz and her family. I met Amy 4 1/2 years ago right after she had been diagnosed with cancer. Her testimony to me and others is so AWESOME in our Lord. Sandy Harrington had her on KKIM sharing her testimony. This has been a very draining 4 1/2 years for the whole family. Let us put ourselves in the shoes of this family and walk with them.

I also talked with Carmen yesterday and she is better and may be released today from the VA. She will need to go back soon for further testing as the Doctor’s have found some issues. Please keep her in your prayers.

Age is not a factor in maturity…

Christians are called to take a stand in The Church … and there is a difference in the freedom of Religion and our Freedoms in Christ! Freedom never goes against God’s Word! Our purpose is to further the gospel of Jesus Christ, according to the Word of God …by staying in step with the Spirit of God’s Holy way in our walk with HIM.

Prayerfully, Beginning with Scripture:

Hebrews 5: 11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

The Spirit spoke to me through verse 12 … almost a year ago, because I understood through verse 13 that I was prepared through verse 14! Yet, the Spirit convicted me that day that I was still trying to be a child and lean on others, when I was prepared to stand with Christ and serve bolder with my confidence fully in Jesus, by the Holy Spirit who lives in me!

Have you ever thought that only Preachers could understand the Bible? Have you ever thought that the big stuff was the Pastor’s job to do?

We need each other, we need Pastors, but God’s Kingdom growth needs you too! We ARE the BODY of CHRIST, which is The Church! We in Christ are the Body of The Church and Jesus Christ is the Head of this great Church of God! But how too often in this world is suffering happening, because we don’t have the confidence to be bold for Christ…maybe you think you are not prepared?

Prayerfully, I ask you to consider that you are equipped when you first believe in Jesus Christ as your personal savior! YET, are you prepared to serve? If not, are you willing to prepare for service, by learning the Word of God, with God through the power of the Holy Spirit?

Once, I walked outside in the cold driven to get an answer from God that I fully expected to hear…God had gotten my full attention; and I had a certain eagerness and willingness to serve HIM, but I had no idea of how to serve HIM! When I returned, I had the knowledge from God that I was not prepared in the Word YET… to serve fully! The Spirit told me that I was not prepared …that I need to study God’s Word; and that was the beginning of no end for me!

I am only as prepared as I need to be to serve well today, so we need to be constantly learning in the Word and in the Spirit with our mind set on Jesus Christ ready to be fully obedient to God as HE calls us to serve HIM!

This posting is to encourage us all to reach up to meet Jesus in our full potential in Christ Jesus our Lord! We need Jesus; and it is all about Jesus and HE enables us to serve each day on our daily personal walk Him for God’s glory alone!

I always pray when I leave the house, “Lord, lead me where you need me to be and give me the words that you will have me say; anoint me for service and guard my heart to keep my motives pure and all for God’s glory alone.” It is amazing the things God takes me to and the understanding that He gives me to help another who is falling and struggling on their path; and sometimes the strength to just be quiet and simply smile and walk away…and pray …

Remembering Scripture take these thoughts with you Today in how you can make a difference through power of the Holy Spirit who lives in you according to the measure of faith that you have been given (God’s Grace) and be still and listen with an open ear to hear God’s Voice of directional call on your life that does have purpose as long as you have breath in your body to breathe!

Romans 12:6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is … let him use it in proportion to his faith.

“…But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good…18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Study 1 Co 7:7, 12:4, 12:18, 1 Peter 4:10

Romans 12:3 (NLT)
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me (God’s Grace), I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better (or more highly) than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

God’s Grace is the power of God that our faith operates in. … and too…as with Timothy in the Bible, don’t underestimate what God can do through your faith! You see, we do nothing on our own, but we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength!!!

…Remembering it is only by God’s Power (by HIS grace) …that God has given us… (When we just believe)… that we do anything good at all!

God is the JUDGE of ALL, the HOLY SPIRIT does the WORK of God, and our job…is just to love and pray! LOVE does the work of kindness and offers up patience …Study the job responsibilities and accountabilities of LOVE in 1Co 13:4-8; then measure up your fruit (emotional or spiritual) see Galatians 5:22-23; and notice (that no matter how good at keeping Scriptures we are) emotions will take us on our own path without God’s Wisdom (APPLY James 3:13-18) to all decisions, actions and thought processes!

Let us stay in God’s grace with God, for God has said in Deuteronomy 30: 19 “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live …”

What can we do as A Christian, yet united together as a sincere Christian Church to make things brighter for our children? Not just our personal children, but all of the children of God …

It is up to us as (Prepared and Equipped) Christians (the body of Christ) to teach how to break Iniquities … Iniquities, …that sadly, the world is teaching our children are okay to accept and chose and live in, live by and live with …

We need to speak up and take a stand and teach and MODEL godly ways to all [we are anointed to teach] … NOT everyone … and not about everything to everyone we meet…BUT we are accountable to our stand in our personal walk. Then, we are called to minister to those around us and to all God brings us to… NO MORE and NO LESS …but according to the anointing and direction of the spirit. NOT BY EMOTION< BUT BY THE SPIRIT, because “

Proverbs 16
Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart).
3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He
will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
9 A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.

Keep learning from all of Proverbs 16 & I will leave you with this thought:

• Here is a Standard of belief that seems to be fading in the world: “In God we Trust.”

• However, God is not a fad who changes HIS way to fit in as a man’s opinion sways from one day to another: “Trust in God” is a standard to stand firmly on … no more words are needed covered by God’s Wisdom and freedom in Christ !

There is a difference between “Freedom in Religion” and “Freedom in Christ” …
Freedom in Christ never takes us outside of God’s Word or His Spirit of blessed assurance!

I don’t normally post political, but then again, I don’t post about religion either…but I do post about God and things that work for His glory:
If “The church” was doing our job then the government would stay out of it, cuz “there would be no needy persons among them” We would worship God together and share everything we had … and if someone was lazy and didn’t want to work …then, they wouldn’t eat until they worked. God’s way works best … the only way that does and with peace too I might add…no bickering like we see on TV 🙂 Just my 2 cents worth based on Scriptures: Acts 4 & 2 Thessalonians 3:10 & if we had a little God Wisdom in Government…about the money they do give away, …What if they gave it to businesses to use to hire more people to work…instead of paying more to stay at home? hummm; this has been on my heart a long time ♥ And inspired by the above quote by Thomas Sowell.

Deuteronomy 1:6~The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
For forty years the children of Israel had wandered the dessert, perhaps again and again and again coming by this particular spot. This is the area where the journey began… this is where God appeared to Moses out of the fiery bush to announce His deliverance of Israel from the Egyptians, this is where he smote the rock and water came, this is the area where he broke the tablets, this is the area where the law was given to them; this area had lots of history for them, but this day was different. This day Moses had stopped their procession and after 40 years of seeing the same sites, they were about to embark on the Promised land.
During that 40 year trek they’d talked about it. They’d lie at night and imagine what it would be like to stop traveling, just to rest a while. Funeral after funeral along the journey had reminded them that God had meant what He said when He told the original crew they’d never see the Promised Land. But this day as they stood at Horeb, (Another name for Sinai, apparently for the area around Mount Sinai) this day was different. The wilderness journey was over. It had been long enough.
They were about to go into the land of Canaan, flowing with milk and honey; it wasn’t going to be without a few battles along the way, but it was theirs. That was not up for debate. But Moses then says in verse 12 –“How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?” At this time they’re standing on the edge of the Promise and Moses is saying, you’re going to have to take some initiative.
So is the church…
If we’re going to see movement in the church, the body of believers is going to have to fight their own battles. You cannot report to the edge of the mountain on Sunday and turn back to Egypt on Monday. You need to go forward. We’re blessed with Pastors in our churches who preach and lead, but that’s only to the edge of the mountain, if you want success in your spiritual life, you have to take the initiative on Monday to be the leader. The Pastor is not going to follow you home, or to work on Monday, that battle is yours. When it comes to that “big decision” you’re about to make, that’s when you have to go to the mountain and asked God for direction. When you stand in the face of a giant, you’re every bit as worthy an adversary as David was against Goliath. You serve the same God.
So what is it today that is preventing you from victorious living? If God laid something on your heart to do He also provided the means to get it accomplished. I speak to self on this one… what about you?
