Back to the basics……….we must Preach the basics, back to the basics, the Church has more product and programs than Wal-Mart!!!!! We have diluted ourselves.

Much going on this day like all days, but let us quite our minds and spend some time here at the CUP! The World is a busy place, let us now be with God, our Father.

Karen Rowe’s Dad, Kenneth Dodd went home to be with our Father Saturday at 10:40am. Karen said that he went home with grace and peace! She shares that her Dad was an extraordinary man!

I say we need more men like Kenneth here on earth to produce more Karen’s!!!!

You see, one of the failings in our society is we are not raising up our Children! So many children without a Dad or Mom in the house. I am not just complaining, I am Preaching that we all need to be a Barnabas to folks! I will share on that in just a moment.

I shared with Karen on Saturday that I talk of all people in the present terms because we are present here on earth or in heaven like my Mom and Dad, they both reside in heaven with Karen’s Dad.

This is a busy World, and if you have heard me on the radio, TV or have read the CUP for long you know I Preach we move on to quickly when someone leaves for heaven. We must mourn our loss but also celebrate the life of Kenneth Dodd here one earth and learn from him.

What can we learn, I did not know him personally, but I know him through the fruit he and his wife bared for our Lord. Her name is Karen. Karen has grown into being an Author and Evangelist for our Lord. Look at all the fruit! From this one child much Godly seed has been sown.

My challenge to us all is, What are you doing with your life? Are you doing what the Lord has called you to do? Are you baring fruit for our Lord? Are you sowing Godly seeds into the World?

You see this World has gone mad for the most part and it will not be turned around until God’s people do the above. I pray that you hear the call God has placed on your life. Too many walking around not knowing what their call is. We must be about the Father’s work.

To live our life right pleasing God in how we treat each other … to the point of surrendering our needs for our love of people, which comes from our heart of Gods’ Love.

My dad … Consistent and a constant in my whole life & maybe one day I will share some of all I have learned in the last 5 days, but for Today, KNOW Jesus as your Personal Savior and Make Him the Lord over your life!

No words can quickly describe all that the LORD has done, but know you are special and as individual as a snowflake and KNOW that God is capable of doing great things for all as we each have our own need.

When you pray, make sure you are praying to God as your Father and not just your Creator! Only in Jesus can we call God our Father. So when you pray, pray to the Father and Praise HIS holy Name and acknowledge HIM for whom HE IS! Thank Jesus every day for giving us all we need!
I love you dad and am looking forward to that day when we all meet up together in the sky to the great Forevermore.

For years and years I have studied the life of Paul. You talk about baring fruit for the Kingdom, he is the man! My passion for our Lord Jesus Christ was ignited by the story and writings of Paul, struck down, blinded, and then he was healed and became the great Evangelist! HPhile was aided by Barnabas. If it were not for Barnabas, Paul’s ministry may not have happened. We all need a Barnabas in our life, I like to believe we need many! I will be Preaching on the life of Paul this Sunday at Crestview Baptist Church in Albuquerque as I fill in for Pastor Steve Freeman. I want to say right here that it is an extreme Godly honor for Pastor’s to have me fill in or be a guest Preacher. The trust that they have in me is a awesome blessing. Let us take a look at Philippians 1:12-14, 19-26………Paul was Preaching it from Prison! Why do we worry about having to have a fancy building to Preach the Word?

I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. 13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

In other words, Paul says, “Don’t fret about the gospel, don’t worry about me. What really matters is not whether I get out of jail, or even whether I live. What matters is that Christ goes on being preached. So, keep your love straight, Philippians. Not Paul but Christ must go on being honored, and in that I rejoice.”

Paul’s Passion

Let me focus on Philippians 1:19-26. That comes right after the section where Paul assures them that even though there are people out there using the gospel to rub salt into Paul’s wounds, they are unwittingly making him happy because what makes Paul happy is when Christ is preached.

For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, 20 as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.

Paul has one main passion in life, doesn’t he? It seems clear from this text that in everything, absolutely everything he does he is passionate that Christ might be magnified, exalted, honored, and shown to be magnificent. Now he has a very strange way of stressing this. Look at verse 20: “It is my eager expectation and hope that I might not be at all ashamed…”

I continue to Preach and Teach on being a Barnabas………Here is some of my study material……….pray over it….hear God calling you?

One wonders if Paul would have made it without Barnabas. The Damascus dust may still have been on Paul’s sandals. The fear of Paul’s murderous threats toward those of the Way was still very much a reality when Barnabas took Paul to the apostles and vouched for the veracity of his testimony (Acts 9:26,27). Barnabas did not have to do this, but this act of encouragement provided a necessary link between Paul and the fulfillment of his calling. Several years later, Barnabas was prompted by the Holy Spirit to look for Paul (Acts 11:25). No doubt the Damascus Road testimony had been forgotten by most, but not by Barnabas.

Barnabas, in keeping with his name, always seemed to be looking for someone to encourage in the ministry. The Tarsus tentmaker had seemingly been overlooked by the established church and bypassed for meaningful ministry assignments. But Barnabas remembered. Because of Barnabas’ influence, the Antioch church found a place for Paul and helped him develop trusted relationships and a respected teaching ministry (Acts 11:26; 13:1,2).

This was not the only time Barnabas took such an initiative. Remember John Mark (Acts 15:37)? Regardless of the baggage or failure from the past, Barnabas was there.

How many ministers have needed a modern-day Barnabas to come alongside them to give them ministry opportunity? How many ministers sit dejected on the sidelines because of a failure? Their church didn’t grow. The vote was not strong enough to stay. The program was a disaster. A marriage or family relationship disintegrated. Where is the brother or sister in the genre of a first-century Barnabas to look for the forgotten, to believe in the divine call, to hope for the best?

God’s 26 Guards Here’s a message that will bring you chills. Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and Then just put it on a list and said, ‘I’ll pray for them later’? Or has anyone ever called you and said, ‘I need you to pray for me, I have this need?’ Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this….. A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan . ‘While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point. On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital. Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord. I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident….. Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried Money and medicines. He said, ‘Some friends and I followed you in to the jungle, Knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, We saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards. At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, ‘No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that We were afraid and left you alone’ At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story: ‘On the night of your incident in Africa , it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?’ The men who had met together to pray that day stood up.. The missionary wasn’t concerned with whom they were, He was too busy counting how many men he saw. There were 26. This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in behalf of those who love Him. If you ever feel such prodding to pray, go along with it, you don’t know what it can mean to that person. Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, ‘With God all things are possible’. More importantly, how God hears and Answers the prayers of the faithful. After you read this, please pass it on and Give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life… And then pass it on. Who says God does not move on the earth today? I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He will see us through. We are praying for your marriage Bob and for your wife.

Bob and I talked yesterday. Let us be in constant prayer. The World’s noise does not think much about marriage. We are living in a time where about 50% Marriages end in divorce. We are living in a time where many accept same sex marriage, even in the Church.

This morning the newspaper was filled with Marriages performed at Courthouses across the Country for Valentines Day. Let us pray the Love of Jesus over all these marriages. I pray that these couples have a Pastor or will have a Pastor in their life.

Handling anger is an important life skill. Christian counselors report that 50 percent of people who come in for counseling have problems dealing with anger. Anger can shatter communication and tear apart relationships, and it ruins both the joy and health of many. Sadly, people tend to justify their anger instead of accepting responsibility for it. Everyone struggles, to varying degrees, with anger. Thankfully, God’s Word contains principles regarding how to handle anger in a godly manner, and how to overcome sinful anger.

Ephesians 4:26-27

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.

James 1:19-20

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Proverbs 29:11

A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.

James 1:20

For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Proverbs 19:11

Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

Ecclesiastes 7:9

Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.

Proverbs 15:18

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.

Colossians 3:8

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Yesterday I stopped at the store to get Buffy and Reno food and then on the way back to the car a man was a couple cars away from me and he was holding a bouquet of flowers and his wife or girlfriend, but God showed me it was his wife, started yelling at her, “Give me some help here!”……as his wife stood at the front of the car, the man started to yell again, “You gotta help me, just don’t stand there!” He then walked to the trunk of the car and opened it and put the flowers in the trunk and slammed it and said, “You have this car all full of junk!”

They then drove off.

I was stunned…………my spirit soured……….I should have reacted more quickly and went over there and prayed with them both……….but I was stopped in my tracks. Usually I move forward and offer my help right away……..but I did not.

I am still regretting that today………..I asked the Lord to forgive me and and am praying for the couple.

Anger destroy’s. I used to be an angry person. I know the damage anger brings.

Anger and the words of anger go into the hearts and souls of people, into the walls of their homers and offices and it stays there until healing occurs. Some people are carrying around hurt from 30 years ago because of anger.

I am working with a man who had anger spoken into his life 40 years ago and he still carries that hurt to this day.

Some will reply, “Why didn’t he take care of that years ago?” Do not judge please, he was so, so, so hurt that it has taken this long.

I share this because I want to help people in the ways of God. God cured me of anger. Love cures all.

My Spirit is highly sensitive now to anger in others.

I want you to think about this……it is so simple, don’t dismiss this……….

God is love! God made Love, God is not anger, anger is not of God.

This man who was yelling at his wife also had death in his voice, it was the voice of death, anger kills the spirit.

Anger can be in our short replies to others.

God showed me yesterday to love even more than I do today. Love heals all, yes it does.

God showed me so strong and clearly, I could taste the love of God, God’s love cures all!!! Cancer, anger, hurt, etc…….

If you are angry, God can heal you.

One way to tell if you have an angry spirit is by the fruit you are bearing for our Lord. Is what you are doing bearing good fruits for our Lord, in your family? in your work? in your Ministry?

What kind of interaction do you have with people? Do you see good fruit all around you? Do you keep your anger hidden? Hidden anger also kills.

Be careful on how you reply to people, do you reply in love? anger? judgmental? Do you gossip? Gossip also kills, gossip is a symptom of hidden anger and dissatisfaction with oneself.

Anger is like a cancer, it can grow and kill, you and others.

Love on people with anger…..show them the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am praying for that man and his wife, and I am sorry I did not pursue that situation. Do not ever use anger against anger!

You cannot go forward and bear fruit for our Lord with anger.

Exodus 15:13

13 “In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
Leviticus 19:18

18 ” ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Once people hear your words, they want more. You have been giving them hope. Who doesn’t need that? The devil plays destructive mind games especially with those feeling left behind. They need to see and feel Jesus from your life. You already do this. Keep up the good work.

February 15, 2013. My perfect law is love. James calls it My royal law. It is the supreme law of the universe. I call you to love Me first, then your neighbor as you love yourself. You have known this for a long time. Now again is the time to put what you know in your head into your heart and actions. When you do this everything else falls into place. The more love you have the more freedom you extend to those you love. I give everyone the freedom to miss the mark. You need to do the same, and keep on loving them with the love and freedom I have given you.

James 2:8-9 (NLT) “Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law.” Bev Robinson

Here is an excerpt from “Birthing Kingdom Destiny” by Monica Miller-Ruhl. In her introduction she
writes a passage very appropriate for this Valentine’s week:

In the very beginning, God created man for “fellowship.” Adam walked with God in the “cool” of the day. I believe God purposed in His heart an intimate connection where His love could be expressed in our lives. There is no greater power in life, than the power of God’s love. It is the sustaining force behind all creation. Without it nothing would exist because GOD IS LOVE. Yet, in all that God created, only man has His image of love through which there is the ability to co-create.

One of the greatest perils of man is the loss of this intimate connection where God’s love breathes in the recesses of our being. When sin entered the heart of man, it separated us from that connection and understanding. There was a vast chasm between God’s love and man’s sin. Jesus told Nicodemus that we must be “born again”—that is born from “above.” We must be born again “spiritually” because when sin entered into the first Adam, we all died spiritually. While the loss of intimacy with God became man’s greatest peril, the restoration of intimacy with man became God’s greatest plan.

Our journey back to an intimate connection with our Creator is the Crimson thread of life’s tapestry. We were purchased with the price of Christ’s redeeming blood shed for our sins. Sounds simple, but the complexities of the anatomy of our Salvation through Christ is wrought in our daily trials. It is there that our lives take on a new meaning as we uncover the mysteries of God’s unfailing love answered perfectly in Christ.

Our job today is finding our way back to the “connection” of God’s eternal heart. It is life’s greatest quest! But the “rewards” of letting God’s love once again be expressed in our hearts, through the configurations of Calvary’s cost, is by far man’s greatest challenge and the deepest purpose pleasured by the Author and Finisher of our faith. We were bought with a price! God placed great “value” on our course back to commune with Him once again in the “cool” of the day. That course is completely a spiritual journey that has been deposited in the midst of a natural temporal world. So it is here our journey begins.
