Dear KKIM Family,
May the Strength and Peace of the Lord be with you and yours forever and ever!
“The superior Christian lets God strip him of everything that might serve as a false refuge, a secondary trust.” AW Tozer
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Revelation 20:12
If we do not have a solid foundation in the Lord……..we will fall to sin.
May the Holy Spirit comfort you today!
For years now I have been preaching about our walk with Jesus Christ, giving up our Will and just turning our life completely over to the Lord. See above this post the quote from AW Tozer.
Let’s look at Francis Chan’s book, Crazy Love,it is AWESOME, Pastor Leonard gave it to me……I am so super blessed to have Pastor Leonard as a Mentor!
I pray everyday for the message and the words I am to write and speak. I have to change my message right during my sermon or Radio program….because the Holy Spirit is directing me. I also can feel when I am going down the wrong track as the Holy Spirit will tell me so. This recently happened on the National day of Prayer, the Lord changed up my message a bit.
It is interesting what Francis Chan has to say about this……..
In an interview with Leadership magazine Chan was asked………
Most people know you as a preacher. How do you hope your sermons form the people at your church?
I want them to hear God is teaching me through His Word. I want them to understand what a passage means, but I also want to be open to what the Holy Spirit may want to do in that moment. So my sermons aren’t as scripted as they used to be.
What led you to that shift?
I want to be as real as possible, and if I script too much, especially with four services, it can become mechanical——just going through the motions rather than really depending on God in the moment. (AMEM!!! AMEN!!!!!) I also want to be open to the fact that there are different crowds in each service, and when I open my mouth the Spirit might give me different words to say to each different group. If I have a script, I tend to stick to it even if God may be leading me elsewhere in the moment.
Just recently after this article was written, Chan announced he was leaving the Church he founded, as the Lord told him to move on……..WOW!
Let us ALWAYS be OPEN to the HOLY SPIRIT!
Yesterday I found a situation brining on stress in the house and it started me down the wrong track and I realized that Satan was really trying to get at me! I was getting cranky was fretting!
I had just read Psalm 37 to Uncle Joe……….verses 5-8
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your
righteousness as the light,
And your justice at the noonday.
rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings
wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—–it only causes harm.
AMEN!
Do you see where it says DO NOT FRET, it only causes harm! WOW the energy and harm I have put into fretting over the years! I now see it as a SIN!
It is all about our relationship with the Lord. When things start to go sideways that is when Satan can start to work in our lives. He wants to disrupt our walk with our LORD! Satan wants us to fret…get angry……get into arguments……..destroy what God is building in our lives.
This is why we need to walk so close with the Lord, Read HIS Word, pray and seek fellowship with other believers. We all need the body of Christ.
I PRAISE GOD that I am still growing in HIM! I am still learning!
Here is a reminder for all of us Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Let us go to the Mailbag……..I love the mail bag! We hope to hear from you soon! Let us know you are out there! Please!
Kind words are like honey——sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24
Dear Dewey
I can’t begin to express my appreciation for you coming to our National
Day of Prayer event. There have been so many nice things said about you and the rest of the speakers. They were particularly taken with you and your message. They really liked the straight word you presented. Thank you; Thank you;
Thank you!!
We are now embarking on another adventure. The 2010 National Foster Care Prayer Vigil. The purpose is to pray for the children who have been removed from the biological parent/s home and for the caregivers who take care of them. And also for the orphans around the world. There are over 140 Million of these children who are at the mercy of society.
So we will pray for them on May 20 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m at Cross of Hope and we will pray continually for 24 hours.
We will have a prayer wheel for people to sign up.
The web site is: icareaboutorphans.org if it interests you. I was listening to KKIM on Saturday afternoon when I heard Focus on the Family mention this call to prayer.
God’s Blessings to you and 5 gold stars for being the kind of person you are.
Kay Hendrickson
Thank you Kay, we will worship with you all soon!
